What's causing the continuous downward slide for the past year and a half tho?

276  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama to ban bullets by executive action, threatens top-selling AR-15 rifle on: March 02, 2015, 10:02:44 AM
First they wanted to ban large mags now this and just as back then it will just make people stock up on it. and pump up the prices.
“As a police officer I'm not worried about AR pistols because you can see them. It's the small gun in a guy's hand you can't see that kills you.” - So true.
Some of the most peaceful countries are in europe and they don't let you have any guns.
Almost everyone in CH owns a gun.

Stocks trading on OTC are usually hugely manipulated. 10X movements within days are not unheard of. It might lead to a pump and dump.

279  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: SP10 Ignites!!! on: March 01, 2015, 11:29:14 PM
I have 2 SP10's, 1 was a slow corner the other a fast corner model. Today I found the fast corner idol, upon reboot I noticed a strange glow coming from the intake. Yep she was a blaze, intake temps are 29c as always so it was not excessive heat, looks like the advertisement as a "professional" piece of equipment was ALL hype. At less then 6 months of operations and she is up in smoke, to date I have 30 antMiner products NOT a single fire yet. SP-T has joined the ranks of "Fire-starters"..  Ugh what a let down, there goes buying a SP31 and now I have to worry about my remaining SP10 and SP20.

Pics to come, have to feed the family before tear down.

Which part of the SP10 started the fire? Would be v+helpful for debugging.
My guess is a wrong voltage rated cap.
280  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: SATA power adapter to PCI-e x 6 on: March 01, 2015, 09:59:06 PM
Hi,

I have been running a SATA 16 pin to PCI-e 6 pin for a while and i noticed that the cables near the adpater are getting very hot. So this is just a little warning to any one that are thinking of using this type of adapter for your miners. The SATA connector only provides 9 Amp compared to 11 Amp from the molex or PCI-e connector.

This is what the adapter looks like after a while of use.

Just a warning.

This is the expected lolzzz..

The SATA power cable is rated at max
Code:
4.5 amps off the 12V wire (54Watt)
. PCIE 6pin is atleast 75W depending on an ASIC device or a GPU .

Word to the wise:
RTFM or at the minimum  Google before trying out different cable combos.
