Oh man, that final score looks brutal. The game at half time was still alive but the sin
bin for Queensland seems to have done a fair bit of damage according to the report
on fox sports > https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/state-of-origin/state-of-origin-2022-nsw-blues-vs-queensland-maroons-game-two-live-updates-news-start-time-teams-scores/news-story/aff2b253e1cbed6a123b1e05f5aedede

Hopefully the home finale will get Queensland over the line.

I have to make a few bets for the Telstra Premiership. There looks like there could be
some close matches although every time I say that the games end up totally lopsided.

Cowboys v Broncos
Rabbitohs v Eels
Dragons v Raiders
Warriors v Wests Tigers

I'll stay away from the bottom three and probably go with the Cowboys

While searching for something non sticker related I came to this website and
while scrolling I noticed they have stickers, lots and lots of stickers, and some really cool designs too
at really affordable prices.

It looks like there are a lot of designers so I dont know how postage etc. works.

I cant seem to be able to link the images, here are some screenshots from the phone.

2603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 26, 2022, 08:33:14 PM
She has got lucky with a first round draw, she plays Harmony Tan, a player ranked
outside the top100, she should win that. As she progresses she will meet tougher
opposition. I'm taking from that article that she wants to leave on a positive tone, not
necessarily winning but not injured either.
But what is the positive tone for a champion like Serena? I am sure she would have considered just the title as a positive result in the past and I wonder if she adjusted the expectations. Don't forget, her own sister said multiple times that the difference between them is that Serena must win every match even when they are sparing. I feel like she is poised for a disappointment here.

Ah I cannot believe Serena thinks she can win Wimbledon, I mean sure a lot of being a
top Tennis player is about having the right mentality as well as skills but surely with
her experience she has to know its a big ask?

Just looking at the matches for tomorrow, does it seem strange that some of the top
seeds are playing on the first day? Djokovic, Norrie, Alcaraz and Hurkacz.
2604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 26, 2022, 03:11:28 PM
*pokes fun at self for Tsitsi finally taking something when have given up on him, and then of course only put money on him for Wimbledon oops*

For Williams maybe in the doubles if she plays with Jabeur depending on how serious
her injury is which she picked up yesterday
. I wouldnt fancy her chances in a singles match,
she would brobably get through a couple of rounds all right.

@aoluain Yeah, left it out in the end, it's one thing to stay fit and able to play, quite another to come out on top vs Ons if they do end up meeting.

@Daniel91 Tennis pension, there's such a thing? Haha.

@Trofo Took a tip from UFC yesterday and smashed it, what's your tennis spider sense say?

Yea I was wondering if you had Tsitsipas backed, and yea its typical when holding off
backing him that he actually wins. In fairness though this year is a mixed bag for him.

^^ Not sure though, but yes, this is going to be maybe his last hurray in the Wimbledon so it's going to be fun tow watch Serena. Maybe she still has it getting past several rounds, but it's going to be very tough for her if she is match against a round and high rank opponents. And let's see if she really heals specially in the mental aspects of the game.

Maybe that's what she really needs, more rest as she is aging and importantly, the psychology of the game. If her mind tells her that she can't compete at this high level of tennis, then for sure we will see Serena exiting early in Wimbledon. But is she has just that one push, like Nadal or even Andy Murray, then maybe there is a possibility but it will be very hard and difficult road for her.

She has got lucky with a first round draw, she plays Harmony Tan, a player ranked
outside the top100, she should win that. As she progresses she will meet tougher
opposition. I'm taking from that article that she wants to leave on a positive tone, not
necessarily winning but not injured either.
2605  Economy / Speculation / Re: “When” Will Bitcoin Price Break $69k All Time High? on: June 26, 2022, 12:37:34 PM
“Since Bitcoin topped at $69,000, it is clear to me the next target can only be $4,20,000. There is no in between. No fire without smoke.”

Another crypto enthusiast DrNick wondered whether the next Bitcoin peak is going to be around the $4,20,000 level. Similarly, another enthusiast Rssi predicted a $420k Bitcoin peak based on the $69k top. “The BTC top was $69k. Next cycle pico top will be @420k obviously.”

Hi mate. You'd better fix that  $4,20,000 crap. It's just $420,000 otherwise looks confusing.

Going to the point, it is quite laughable that $420k prediction. People seem to forget that some predicted last year (the supercycle theory) that this year we would already be around that price. Then the ath was only $69 and now we are in bear market.

I agree with Wexnident and SquirrelJulietGarden that we will break that ath after the next halving, and hopefully we will be able to break the $100k mark.

Yea I think the general consensus is that we will be breaking the ATH after the next
halving. $420,000 is very optimistic and if we think back to  the prediction on the last Bull
run to be at least $100,000, we can take the new prediction of $420,000 with a
pinch of salt, I'm sure we would all love to be wrong though.

Also bear in mind theories and expectations have been broken before. Up to this cycle
the market has never gone below the previous ATH, last week that record was broken.

With the Bitcoin market, anything can happen!

Yea its still a newbie trend to be involved with $hitcoins and focussing on Altcoins when
really the only show in town is Bitcoin. Thats where everyone should be focussing their attentions.

What the OP is advocating in terms of Bitcoin is essentially whats been referred to
as "Zoom out" and not be so affected by the movement of the markets.
2608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 26, 2022, 07:29:18 AM
An interesting turn of events in the eastebourne atp tournament cressy made it to the finals which was unexpected, but the most important game is today fritz will face de minaur who has being not doing well in the recent tournaments but in this one he is really impressive, i will bet on him to win this one.

De Minaur on grass looks really good but got knocked out by Fritz today and we will see an intresting match by two Americans and really good servers. Both Cressy and Fritz serve really good and we will see probobly 3 sets in the final tommorow
I did not expect that outcome between fritz and de minaur they both played really well but fritz was slightly superior, as for the finals americans are really known for their powerfull serves, it was as you expected fritz won 2 1 i think experience at the high level played a good role in the outcome especially in that first set but still great work from both players.

Yea I was of 2 minds on who to back between Fritz and de Minaur, so I didnt bet, but I did back
Fritz in the final and yes it turned into a 3 setter

Tsitsipas has won the tournament. Final was quite fun to watch and it went on for a long time. The final set was decided in style by a tie break. Tsitipas was supreme in this and he won this tiebreak with no less than 7-2. Tsitsipas also has chances to get far at Wimbledon, which will start next week. I haven't seen the draw yet, but there are some dangerous unseeded players in it. you have to be lucky with the draw.

I really doubt Tsitsipas chances on Wimbledon, should be better than last year first round drop-out, but second week is too much for him
did not look at the draw, but as I heard he is within Nadal and Berrettini half, and either from two will easily kick him out

nevertheless, congrats on winning tournament, Agut is a clay specialist, as him, and final between them on grass is remarkable for both

Again I was doubting on who to back in that final too, Bautista Agut at his "home" tournament
ir Tsitsipas whom I have lost a lot on in the past, so I skipped it, well done to him.

Thats interesting though to see two clay specialists in a final on grass with decent players in
attendance like Medvedev, Kyrgios, Giron, Karatsev and Griekspoor. Those two may go far
at Wimbledon.
2609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 25, 2022, 05:05:23 PM
Anyone fancy Williams to get one last hurrah? Itching to pull the trigger... I'd have put money on Fedex had he made it.

-snip

Djokovic may still be the best player in the world, but the rankings won't reflect that any time soon.

hard to finish year as number one, not impossible, but very hard

nevertheless, probably more important to him to get back to equal number of GS title with Rafa at the moment, since he has longest number one strike, and it is not reachable by active players

Hurkacs and Alcaraz are his draw half in Wimbledon, Berrettini is with Nadal

Yeah like how Brazil's to me been the best and most consistent over the past few years, and yet Belgium somehow stayed in #1 rank for a while (not any longer apparently but I no longer keep up).

I guess in tennis it's a lot more important to be ranked as it's individual but yeah, I've to say it's really just the GS titles that makes the most impact -- whether you're following tennis closely or just a casual observer like me.

He'll hope Berrettini does him a favour and prevent Nadal from widening the gap but he's got a hell of a job on his hands!

For Williams maybe in the doubles if she plays with Jabeur depending on how serious
her injury is which she picked up yesterday
. I wouldnt fancy her chances in a singles match,
she would brobably get through a couple of rounds all right.

Beretini will be for sure a bigger chalenge to Nadal than Hurkacz and the unknown on grass
Alcaraz will be to Djokovic IMO.

2612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Class in my Village High School on: June 25, 2022, 08:14:33 AM
Always nice to see things like this, however I'm curious if this was a compulsory class or is this something that's optional? I'm glad to hear they responded well to it. I'm just not completely sold on the idea of teaching Bitcoin to children quite yet. Honestly, that might just be because our culture here, they probably wouldn't benefit from it, but I suppose in certain other cultures, Bitcoin is actually becoming pretty much something they'll encounter on the daily. So, I'll admit it might be the culture gap.

I'm not bashing the idea, I love it that there's people out there doing this sort of stuff, and I know in my teenager years I would've been absolutely loving a class like this. However, for any younger children I don't think teaching them quite yet what Bitcoin is, and what it can be used for will be that useful. Although, I tend to think we teach the concept of money too early to children anyway.

Yea I agree with Welsh and everyone here more or less, its a great idea and a great initiative
by the OP to educate others about Bitcoin. Its a bold step and I'm impressed with the school
principal for allowing this to happen.

Like Welsh I'm not sure teaching 'Junior' classes the concept, they may be too young,
but definitely students preparing for their next level of education or going into the workforce
after high school is beneficial for sure.

From the images it looks like a different sort if learning, students have to use their imagination
and visualisation differently without computers.

This is great. Its deserves more Merit im out unfortunately

someone has misinterpreted the rules   Grin Grin Grin
I think you are correct, I don't see any mention of participants allowed 2 spots in this raffle.

haha! I agree - I totally misunderstood that - I read it as "who has already selected a number, select another"

total misunderstanding on my part.

....:::snip:::....

Please, for that who has chosen a number already selected, please choice another number. Thank you !

Ah yes, I read that also a different way !!
'selected' is the giveaway which a few of us missed.

@Gianluca95 please remove my second choice #62, that was a mistake on my part and
it hasnt been picked up in because the name is spelled wrong. apologies for that!
2614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 24, 2022, 01:20:21 PM
Hopefully he can live up to being the top seed right now otherwise, Djokovic can still reclaim that this year. This is just the difference between the big 3 before, they are really psychologically though in close games and seldom we see them being upset perhaps just to other ranked but not to relatively unknown player.

I don't think Djokovic will be able to regain the number one spot this year. He's a long way back in points already, there are zero points available for Wimbledon, and there's a decent chance that Djokovic won't be able to play the US Open or other US events. Looking at the 2022 singles race, Nadal is already almost 4000 points clear of Djokovic.

Djokovic may still be the best player in the world, but the rankings won't reflect that any time soon.

Thats interesting actually, its a big changeup in the ranking because of basically Wimbledons
decision over Russian players and the resulting ATP ruling on points.

I wonder would Djokovic do anything differently if he could go back to the start of the year?
probably not.

Whole Medvedev has had mixed results this year, Nadal is the one to watch in the points race.
He has and will continue to create a gap between himself and Djokovic with points and Slams.

2616  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear Market Opportunities - Forget "When Lambo" on: June 22, 2022, 08:24:29 PM
Its funny though how it goes and how it will go, there will be people saying in a couple
of years from now, "Why didnt I buy more when it was $19,000?" and maybe "Why didnt
I sell the kitchen sink?"

Buy now - profit later. This is the thing we have to focus on rather than think about when is the next ATH. It is better to fill our bag now making ready for that moment as there is nothing happening in the future if we don't take action by now.

Thats pretty much what I'm talking about.

Realise I'm replying late down here but the thing though with a "sell everything and the kitchen sink" mentality, you're usually a right fit for the Wen Lambo group as well.

Ah I dont know about that, I take it that the "When Lambo" group were just impatient
or niave thinking their expectations were going to be realised short term, "Sell Everything"
is about realising the opportunities presented now are not going to last and may not
be revisited short term.

The guys doing their daily rounds faithfully in this forum are probably DCA-ing one way or other (I am too, in a roundabout way without actually buying), and $4000 was exciting, sure, but it didn't trigger any riskier behaviour. If you're not really affected by FOMO than you're also not really into digging additional holes.

DCA's already pretty much perfection. My 2 satoshi.

I DCA on average 3 times per month too from my wages and I think more and more people
are realising the benefit of the practice.

But sometimes people want to wait for lower, but that won't be a bottom but know that when it's bearish the buying opportunity is pretty good.

Yea trying to time the bottom can be tricky and you could easily lose out.
2617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 22, 2022, 05:40:55 PM
Meanwhile Boulter (r.127) is currently a set up against Petra Kvitova (r.31).

Well, Boulter lost, and also Dan Evans just lost 2-0 against a lower-ranked opponent, so maybe ignore me! Cheesy

Seriously though, I do still think it's worth keeping an eye on the British players, who are playing above their level at the moment. The only one I'd definitely steer clear of is Raducanu, who has been very flaky this year - there's probably a decent chance of her retiring injured at some point during Wimbledon.

Eh no, Raducanu wouldnt be on my 'one to watch' list. She has for sure had a dissapointing
year and her poor form will most likely continue.

Harriet Dart had a good result against Teichman today and faces Kvitova next.

There is one on the Womens side I am watching and who is giving me profits, Haddad Maia
won again today and beat Bourage in 2 sets easily enough, 6-1, 6-2.

On the mens side predictably Norrie is through, and Draper is looking good for the win against
Diego.

2618  Economy / Speculation / Bear Market Opportunities - Forget "When Lambo" on: June 22, 2022, 12:28:03 PM
So while the "When Lambo" crew have disappeared there is a lot of talk about Bitcoin's
market value falling further, $13k, $10k and beyond.

Think back to 2017 The ATH at the end of the year was ~$19700
Think back 1 year after to 2018 Bitcoin fell to under $4000

We all know Bitcoin in the long term is only going one way, and thats up but most of us
didnt take the opportunities presented to us like in 2018, $4000 for a Bitcoin  is now
a "sell everything" to buy Bitcoinprice.

Everyone has a mark at such time they panic to BUY Bitcoin, at what price is your
"sell everything to BUY Bitcoin" mark?

We know $69000 is easily achievable and we may not see these prices again after next
year so we have to take these bear market opportunities.
2619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 22, 2022, 06:31:55 AM
Guys like Draper are grass specialists and their ranking is not a measure of their actual game on this surface.

True, he does look solid on grass, but I think there may be more to him that just that surface. He ran Rublev pretty close in the Madrid masters on clay about a month back, losing in a close third set 6-2 4-6 5-7. He's also only 20, so plenty of time to improve... and he is improving all the time, this time last year he was ranked 250.

Peniston may be a bit different, as he's 26yo.

Draper is up against Schwartzman today, thats going to be a real test for him, Diego is a
real fighter but Grass is his least favourite surface. Draper is favoirite though @1.55 on Rollbit
compared to 2.41 for Diego.

On the Womens side Haddad Maia is playing again after getting past Kanepi yesterday.
She faces Burrage who is unknown to me, I'll keep backing Maia as she seems to be
holding her brilliant form.
