Hello Jimbo. Just wanted to say hello, you are my idol and such a legend. Thanks for being here.

Wow. I'm humbled.

Good morning Bitcoinland and happy Independence Day to all in the land of the incarcerated and the home of the militarily emboldened.

I see we had another wee leg up... currently $6692USD/$8805CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Hopefully this short-term uptrend will become longer-term. Go Bitcoin go.

out-fucking-standing!

praise Bob

Cool. I thought most Subgenii died in the 1980s when Bob was assassinated in San Francisco.

The guy in the middle is either a Libertarian or a Central Banker. Since he's stealing the wallets of both I'm betting on a Central Banker. Or a Media Mogul.

Wrong. Libertarians  and Central Bankers are both right wingers.

The guy in the middle is a Subgenius, someone who doesn't give a shit, i.e. someone who gets it.

Worth it if it saves Mrs Rosewater from a beating today.

Mrs Rosewater and her five lovely daughters?

Good morning Bitcoinland. Finally recovering from Canada Day weekend. Whew!

Small pullback after the last few days' gains but still hanging in... currently $6590USD/$8677CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
_____

Just noticed the new poll. Seems I'm in third place. I'm not sure if I should feel honored by all the wannabes, or do some campaigning for more votes.

I guess I'd better go kiss some babes (over 18 years old, of course).  Cool

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Nice to see we're still hanging on to last night's gains... currently $6368USD/$8373CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Now this is what I like to hear, people enjoying life and not focusing on the panic of up or down!

god Jimbo

please don't leave us...

Don't worry. After 5+ years of riding this roller coaster, I'm neither getting sick nor getting off.

In fact, I quite enjoy the ride.

Well cheers.

Just got back from the ballgame and I see both the Jays and Bitcoin won.

Let's see if this holds.

Ballpark beers may be expensive but they sure taste good and work great.

Life is good. Enjoy.

Hey Jimbo.... when is your cashflow getting lined up in order that you will be able to add to your BTC stash at these "bargain" prices?

within the next month or two?

Waiting for repayment of a $20kCAD family loan. Last week I was told days or a few weeks.

This would be my first multi-coin purchase in many months and would replace the several small sales I was forced to make this year.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we've got some more sideways... currently $6122USD/$8136CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Ho freaking hum.
2691  Economy / Speculation / Re: BOTTOM? list? the real bottomcaller on: June 24, 2018, 05:24:06 PM
OK I'll bite.

$5780.

 Cool

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we hit a new low for the year this morning and are bouncing back... currently $6245USD/$8295CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Even when we were at the bottom we were ahead of where we were in November. How soon we seem to forget.

I hope everybody bought lots of coins. I'm just glad I didn't have to sell any.

That's the trouble with being retired living off your Bitcoin holdings. Every now and then you have to spend some to buy fiat currency.

A late good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we had a pretty good dip... currently $6175USD/$8225CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

I wish I had more spare cash on hand to take advantage of this. Oh well.
2694  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 12, 2018, 04:25:00 PM

Luckily some of my friends were smart enough to see what was happening when my coins went from being worth dozens of dollars to being worth hundreds, bought in and now they're worth thousands.

Too bad for those who didn't see and missed the rocket train. The view from up here is fine. My friends and I enjoy it greatly.
2695  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 12, 2018, 02:20:27 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Would you look at that... the price dips back to where it was yesterday and people are running around like chickens with their heads cut off calling for $3k.

Meanwhile we're well ahead of where we were in November, barely half a year ago... currently $6789USD/$88116CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

It wasn't much more than a year ago when gold ounce parity was the holy grail. Now a bitcoin is still worth over a quarter pound of the shiny stuff used to electroplate contacts.

Give your heads a shake.

I just wish I had more spare fiat to sell for Bitcoin. This is the best buying opportunity I've had this year while actually at home with access to ATMs.
____

Speaking of ATMs, prices are good today... no negative fees, but I can buy for 1.4% and sell for 0.6% at my usual machines downtown here.

Maybe I'll get lucky and see some unexpected revenues today.
2696  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 06, 2018, 04:00:17 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Sideways it is... currently $7658USD/$9885CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

As someone pointed out, sideways means rambling posts about cultural-minority and other conspiracies, and other general off-topic bullshit.

Since I think we'll have to wait a bit for rocket trains and music fests, and I don't want to hear about lame altcoins, can't we just observe the occasional wall? There's a doozey over at Stamp at the moment. Eaten or pulled?

Edit: pulled (doh!)

How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?

Jimbo was floating through space before Earth's creation. Some say he even existed before time, in a universe that was a mirror of our own.

Hey! I'm only in my 70s.*

*70 to be exact.

Haven't had a "real job" since I was 28. Work is the curse of the drinking class.
2698  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 31, 2018, 04:23:36 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we're back over $7.5kUSD... currently $7555USD/$9801CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Tried to buy a couple of thousand fiat bucks at my local low-sell-fee ATM but the General Bytes machine had run out of thermal paper to print my redeem ticket so I had to wait until today. Nice to see the price up a wee.

The price rise may be small but every little bit helps when you're an old-age pensioner trying to eke out a living selling small amounts of Bitcoin.  Cool
2699  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 30, 2018, 12:20:04 AM
You buying some when you get back?  or what would be your "sufficient of enough dip" price point to buy?

Just got back and no, I can't afford to take advantage of this lovely buying opportunity.

I went down to do the paperwork (forking over a bunch of 500 peso bills and registering my constancias of ownership) on my second Mexican property, and ended up using up my fiat cash stash buying a third.

I might actually have to (gasp!) sell a bit to make ends meet.

It was an offer I couldn't refuse though, a full hectare with a well for $50kMXN ($2.5kUSD). Motivated vendor.

Luckily, folks in those parts don't use banks. Cash rules.

Good afternoon Bitcoinland

Finally back in civilization (Playa del Carmen) after 2 weeks without phone or internet access in the jungle. Seems the hombre who provides the local internet service was away because his mother died and when a power outage crashed his system there was nobody to restart it.

I see the price has continued to slide since I left Canada and while it isn't as bad as during the winter, it's perilously close to $7k... currently $7228USD/$9397CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Being under 5 digits CAD is depressing. Hopefully it'll pick up after I head north.  Undecided
