282  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Fucking Ponzi's and the idiots that buy into them on: March 11, 2014, 06:31:28 AM
Just using 1 of the many ponzi's Im seeing here as an example:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=510309.0

So what happens with this scam is the operator plays the game themselves either manually or with a bot that stops the moment any idiot actually puts money into it.

The operator has 0 risk of loss for each bet due to the way this game operates.
This is not gambling, this is a scam for idiots.

283  Economy / Gambling / Re: 120% Ponzi that always pay !!!! on: March 11, 2014, 06:28:48 AM

284  Economy / Investor-based games / Fucking Ponzi's and the idiots that buy into them + List of Shills on: March 11, 2014, 06:24:45 AM
People please avoid ponzi's like the plague.

Here is the very simple description of a ponzi:

a) Idiot hands over money to con artist.
b) con artist pays (for example) 1% interest weekly on your investment.
c) idiot decides he wants to compound his investment so interest is never collected.
d) Ponzi operator runs off with funds when investors ask for withdrawals.

Or the Other Method:

c) not quite an idiot collects 1% interest a week and tells everyone how great it is.
d) The ponzi operator can do 100 weeks of payouts before running into trouble, they usually will stop when they stop getting new investors.

Now I know there are many people that make the following claim: The trick is to get in and out early. and they are one of the 3 types:

1) shills - they never invested anything but claim they did and that the payments WERE FABULOUS.
2) idiots who think they will be  the first in and out.
3) idiots who were lucky enough to actually be 1 of the first in and out. Its the same as leaving your wallet/phone/camera with a random stranger on the corner of the street - yes sometimes they are honest but guess what, its terrible advice to give anyone and to claim success at doing so is just encouraging other idiots to invest.

Finally:

Ponzi's and pyramids are not gambling its a way to syphon money from idiots.
These long running pyramids...... you will find out all the success stories are sockpuppets of 1-2 people right at the top.

PS: Friends dont let friends order from BFL.

The List of Ponzi Operators.
If you take advice from these people your gonna have a bad time mmmkay.

yonce - a HYIP promoter making more than a passing effort in his scam (nice to see a committed con artist).

Min-btc - scammer.

120cycle - scammer.

naRky - scammer

multiponzi - scammer.
bmL - scammer.
btcmania - A very clever and persuasive shill. Defends ponzi's and their operators despite knowing full well that ponzi's operate as a scam.

BitDoubler - scammer.

ponzimatic - scammer.

CoinPayoff - ConPayoff.
Weekly_Ponzi - lol.
jontstaz - ponzi operator
ponjava - ponzi operator
greenservice - piece of shit ponzi operator/ con artist.

apsvinet - Scammer, liar, opponent of free speech, all in all a nasty piece of work.
285  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: March 11, 2014, 06:07:08 AM
So what has mem been up to ?

Working on my person to person skills (which have never been great).
Playing with my new 3d printer - so much fun, even if it does require constant tuning and fiddling.
House Paid off - Thanks bitcoin btw can anyone in AU suggest a good tax account familiar with bitcoin and capital gains.
Work Stuff - sigh.
Personal Stuff - double sigh.
memslist.com - just a wiki atm for me dumping (when I get time) how to's and misc tech info. It will also contain the list and support automatic addition (to pending review only) by site admins (simply create a memslist.txt on your root folder).
skyrim - cant believe I ignored this game for nearly 2 years, when I can spare 1-3 hours to play it its the highlight of my week (Im a boring nerd and easily pleased). Skyrim + ENB + Realvision = bliss Cheesy

Wish I had more time to focus on these projects atm, I even wish I had more time so i could play skyrim for more than 3-4h a week, but unfortunately life rarely goes the way you want. I'll keep plugging away as I have been and keep slowly working towards memslist 3.0.

As I said above, scams have always been my #1 concern.

Thanks Everyone, will try and check in sooner Smiley

286  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: March 11, 2014, 05:54:44 AM
Is this list still being updated? Because BitsPoker is still in the list while they scammed their users.

No, it hasn't been updated in a while.

oh dear sorry about that everyone.
I'll strike them out now.

Regretfully Ive been stressed, over worked and under-appreciated these last ~4 months and its left me little time to do this gambling list.
I have registered a domain for myself to speed up submissions of new sites etc which will then be used to generate the forum code.

I'll be back, just not sure when I will be back up to full speed.

But please, any scams in my list let me know via google talk / other ASAP.
Its the main reason I started this list, to warn off against scams and help promote honest bitcoin casinos.
287  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: arby.pl - free arbitrage calculator for BTC-e on: January 15, 2014, 02:02:56 AM
code is still available but I turned off the script to save on my local bandwidth.
I will update the code to include some of the newer altcoins and make a post.
288  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CoinJar - Australia's first VC-backed Bitcoin startup on: January 15, 2014, 02:00:29 AM
Id just like to voice my support for coinjar.io

Im no fan of zhoutong at all, I still consider what happened with bitcoinica to be an ugly corrupt mess with him at the center of it all.

That being said, I have used coinjar.io frequently over the last 4 months and they have enabled me to pay off my house with my bitcoin investment.
Ive processed nearly 1/2 a million AUD through their site without any issues.

Good work coinjar.io
289  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: January 15, 2014, 01:55:16 AM

It's a pity Mem's list isn't updated anymore. It was an important guide and we used it quite a lot. Our goal was always to be on this list Smiley so I'll announce our game here even though it probably won't make it on the list...

LuckyBit - http://luckyb.it/
putting suspense back into gambling

I'll follow Mem's criteria, for everything else check the announcement thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=322158.0

  • game type: plinko/galton's box
  • single-player, but you can see the bets of all others being resolved (and there's a chat box)
  • 3 types of games: low risk, medium risk, high risk
  • min bet: 0.0005
  • max bet: currently 0.1, will be raised to 1 BTC soon
  • house edge 1.76%
  • admins are forum members

Over 26.000 bets played, over 1111 Bitcoin won so far! Check it out: http://luckyb.it/

Wow, its people like yourself that put a big smile on my face and make me glad I put so much effort into this.
I'll try and have a look tonight and reply.
290  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: January 15, 2014, 01:53:41 AM
yawn, hello all Cheesy

Its been a busy busy 3 months for mem.
Lets see,

* Took some stress leave from my day job, feeling 100% since doing so.
* Ive paid off my house in full thanks to my early bitcoin investments + litecoin and pee pee coin (in fact pee pee paid for 20% of my house).
* Still have a large mixed bag of bitcoin and various altcoins Cheesy
* Looking at getting married in the next few months to my wonderful GF.

So unfortunately Ive been to busy to look after this list properly, in the meantime wow has the bitcoin community grown.

Im going to slowly get this list up to date but moving forward this gambling list is no longer a priority for myself that may change later on but for now Ive go to focus on other stuff.
291  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Stolen btct shares and bitcoins. on: September 19, 2013, 08:28:54 AM
Hi,

Just a word of warning to everybody out there from somebody who is now forcibly out of the Bitcoin game.

I hold a BTCT account.  This account was compromised, I had locked the payout address to my own wallet.

My various shares were all cashed out to my address.

Subsequently my wallet was emptied (including some 15 or so other bitcoins I had)

My Wallet was covered with a 25 character long passphrase. I can only assume that my home computer has a key logger installed.

1EYz2DwJy2xj3o7cPtVsFPXX6C2moMrYXj now has over 50 bitcoins of mine.

Given my Bitcoin investment money was set aside for my young family, even though its not a huge amount of money I am completely gutted.

Cheers
cwerdna.

Stop using IE and OPERA .... use google chrome or firefox. Most exploits works on ie and ff. Also do not download flash "updates" you are asked to download from various sites.

But most of thieves use and exploit and traffic to build a botnet and only ie and opera can be exploited.

START READING THE POST BEFORE COMMENTING.

He is an OSX user and only used / accessed the wallet on OSX.
Yes thats right, he had a trojan on his OSX installation, it does happen.

My only bitch is I was one of the first buyer of the USB miners where I bought 15 @ 1.99BTC each, in Canary's group buy #1 and was one of the last to get the coupon at .15 each when he was selling them to anybody at .18. It would have been nice if the coupon deal would have been done more fair than it was.

Same here, by the time the coupon was offered it was worthless.
293  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Stolen btct shares and bitcoins. on: September 16, 2013, 05:39:08 AM
Work friend of andrews here.

Looks like it was a key logging trojan on osx, very very scary.
His local wallet was encrypted with a pass phrase but they had that to from the logger.

So withdrawal to locked address, then open up wallet with passphrase and send.

Bastards.
294  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter USB]0.10BTC-0.12BTC, Distribution Re-Opened on: September 13, 2013, 12:38:00 PM
Damn... so many posts here and in other threads quoting math, showing clearly how these things are just as overpriced as ever. As in, you'll never make your money back from either these or the blades. That same has been true from the beginning of Asicminer sales.

And still people line up to buy buy buy.

So many suckers...  Roll Eyes

Well, despite my previous negative post I have to say, its been a fun ride.

I loved mining with GPU's, I nearly ordered a FPGA from BFL before realizing it was very scammy and to be honest I would still like to play with an icarus FPGA right now despite the fact it would never pay itself off. Why ? because Im a nerd that genuinely enjoys playing with hardware, the more specialized the better, even more so if I can actually put it to monetary use no matter how insignificant.

Its For these reasons I'll be a sucker for gen2 keys and gen2 asic's.
Sign me up friedcat and even Canary, I'll happily pay a small to (hopefully not to) large sucker tax to player with the next lot of equipment.
I even wish I had multiple colours just so it would look nicer sitting on my desk, oh well Smiley

Sold 1 btc last night, sales order still showing as pending this morning.

I'll chase up zhoutong and see whats what.

CoinJar is a participant of the Direct Entry system through our bank NAB. We only clear our books once every business day because otherwise it would make no difference in processing time. In most situations proceeds from Bitcoin sell orders should be received by the end of next business day.

I can see that your payment has been released.

And confirmed, Thanks again Zhou.

Thanks for your nice feedback. We are still improving everyday and we expect the service will be even better over time. It's our vision to bring digital currency like Bitcoin to the real world.

As for your reservations, I completely understand. CoinJar is my fresh start. You can trust that my co-founder and our investors have made a good decision to work with me to contribute to the Bitcoin economy.

Keep up the fantastic work Zhoutong and Coinjar.io team.
298  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CoinJar - Australia's first VC-backed Bitcoin startup on: September 10, 2013, 01:16:25 PM
Well thanks to mtgox's inability to do cashouts and btc-e having bitcoind offline for over 24 hours I finally decided to give coinjar.io a whirl.

I have to make the following statements:

  • I do have reservations about zhoutong, but the PR team behind coinjar.io have been great at engaging the community directly without side stepping any questions, they have also gone to above reasonable lengths to ensure they are easy to contact.
  • For someone living in AU, it does seem to be an extremely convenient cash out method
  • The rates are good to fair.
  • Im unfamiliar with their coin hosting service, but it seems to work well.
  • Trust for the site can be limited to whatever you feel comfortable depositing, I suggest doing regular increments as opposed to huge dumps.
  • The UI is clean, but it needs a touch more work. That being said, after 1-2 transactions its very easy to find your way around.
  • 3 Test cashouts later with a 4th just started and I have to say, the transfer time for me as a bankwest customer is 1-2 business days, very convenient

So, consider me your grumpiest most cynical sceptic that still likes to think of himself as "reasonable" ......Im impressed.
Keep up the great work and I shall continue to use this nice service in bigger increments as my trust builds.
299  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Block Erupter USB]0.10BTC-0.12BTC, Distribution Re-Opened on: September 10, 2013, 08:57:36 AM
Wow they cost cheap. It would be good business for the resellers.

Actually all but a few resellers have been absolutely gutted, its a game of offloading your stock onto the next guy down the line when you get the news from friedcat that there is a price drop coming. If Canary / other resellers are pushing you to do a large order "but for an extra discount" its because their is a price halving happening in the next week and they dont want to get caught holding the bag.

I did two small test orders then made the mistake of going large. Sitting here with stock Im that I can either sell at a loss or mine @ a loss. Im glad I didn't let canary talk me up to 500+ keys at 0.55 btc which to his credit he did try (a salesman is a salesman).

So no more for mem, it was a fun little run then I got severely screwed over and  now have the options of doubling down in a poor attempt to break even  or bow out.

Im not the first who Canary pulled this trick on, credit to him as a salesman but as a person who was setting up to be a local supplier I couldn't do business with him again.

Getting the vouchers finally offered to me at a time when the voucher price == key price was just the final straw.

That being said, i am grateful to have been able to play around with the hardware.

TL;DR: 2 good test purchases as a potential reseller, First real purchase and I got fucked over so badly the little business will never recover.
300  Economy / Gambling / Re: good morning on: September 09, 2013, 04:10:55 AM
hi mem, while I have not played much on any of the poker sites (I've signed up for most of them), GridPoker looks interesting. It's almost like one of the commercial big players just shifted to accepting bitcoin for deposits.

Unfortunately, none of the poker sites are any closer to being provably fair. I have an example already, all they have to do is copy it. If they won't, I'll go put up my own. (If I can.)

Regarding just-dice, kindly let me know if anyone else has made more than 1.4 million rolls on it. I stopped playing since about 4 or 5 weeks ago, but I've got my martingale strategy sort of working (until you go bust, that is.)

The short of it is, I took 0.4 and turned it into 2.0, then I took 6.0 and turned it into 11.0. Both sequences busted out (after a million rolls). There is a good chance I win the very next roll, so I'm waiting for "investors". hehehehe.

Yes unfortunately with poker you do have to place a lot of trust in the casino operators and hope that players are not colluding.

Mornin' Mem  Grin

Hey there Cheesy

You'd have fun martingaling our roulette game if you're in the mood for roulette. Return to player is at 99.5% and we have the standard martingale strategy as an autoplay option. Are you doing standard or your own version?

99.5% may make you a tie for the lowest house edge, I believe crackdice is also 99.5%. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Mem,

Bitoomba is waiting to be added  Wink

Appreciate your patience, i got a bit distracted yesterday once the SO came home as it was our 1 year aniversary since getting engaged. Breaking bad tonight, then after that I shall resume my reviews.
