281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 26, 2023, 12:45:49 PM
The basic of answer here would be not gambling, that's probably the most responsible thing that you can do but if you're trying to gamble responsibly, you're better off not bringing a lot of money and try your hardest to limit your gambling to once per 2 weeks and make sure that other people have a control on your money, be it spouse or a loved ones so there's a failsafe when you lose your money quickly and you plan to get more, those stuff that I've said might be too much but I think that it's the best measure you can get.

No i am not implying that this is funny, nor do i try to be funny. It is extremely likely (if not certain) that OP is the one who made the medium article. Even if he is not, the person making that made that post needs some help with their mental health.
I'm sorry that I come of to you as mad, it's just that whenever something unhinged happens and people use mental health as a low hanging fruit excuse to their behavior, it's just that there's evil but sane people out there and I don't think not everyone can be helped by a mental health professional because they're not crazy, they're just a plain old pieces of shit that do evil shit to unnerve other people.
283  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚽️ SPORTBETTING ADVICE ⚽️ on: October 25, 2023, 10:25:56 AM
Really? do those high odds actually win often? I mean, I get it, lower leagues are probably easier to predict, especially if it's a league in your own country. But I don't think bookmakers set odds that are too different from other leagues; they want action on both sides, after all. It's just my personal views, no offense. If you're making a profit with that approach, cool, but some proof would help convince the rest of us!
If we're talking just a plain win or lose odd, I don't think that we're going to be seeing a possibility that those high odds as the likely winner because I've been there and the underdogs are always given the higher odds compared to the favorite team and I don't think that they're ever going to show you any proof that it's a profitable move even in lower leagues because as I've said, the most likely team to win are given the lower odds while the others have higher to attract gamblers to waste more money in hopes that they can multiply it quickly with those odds. My sport betting advice would be to just bet on both sides, you're either losing a little or you're winning a bit smaller but at the least you're safer.
284  Other / Archival / Re: CEO of Stake.com (Eddie Craven) Found Decapitated In Home on: October 25, 2023, 08:05:36 AM
Sounds like someone who lost at the casino felt like they needed to vent and let out some steam. Some people really need some help with mental health and an intervention so they could stop gambling
I know you're trying to be funny but stereotyping mental health issue because someone's doing something unhinged is kind of a shitty scapegoat. Pretty sure that the person who did the article is a piece of shit but that doesn't mean that they're mentally ill because they can do that, cartel members that skin your face while you're alive are sane as anyone can be, how about that.

Regarding the article, OP should've checked the author of the Medium article to see if it's a credible news, which in this case is not as pointed out by other members already. Maybe next time anything weird is happening on the new, check multiple sources.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake casino streamers! Why such streamers are very popular? on: October 25, 2023, 06:42:50 AM
I am a type of person that do not believe something easily, streamers that are well known will be sponsored by game providers or betting sites, this is not an argument. Also a lot of things about this, like winning can much more be manipulated. In fact, I hardly watch anything related to streamers, they are there sponsored if they are well known, and some things will be just hidden about them.
Usually people who say what they are don't actually say it because the need for them to talk about it doesn't do them any favor or that it's not a testament that they are who they preach, they just do it and let people decide if they are that kind of person. Regarding those streamers, these problem has been going on for so long and it seems to me that there's no cure to this besides streamers actually declining the deal with this casinos but given how lucrative the deals are, it's unlikely that they would decline it not to mention that up and coming streamers are caught off guard by this so they just accept it because what they have to do is easy and you really can't blame the casinos doing these scummy thing though, they have a business to run and no matter how you look at it, they're just trying to make their casinos as attractie to those viewers as much as possible even if it means they have to lie.
What do you guys expect anyways, streamers are businesses men and they get paid for doing what they are doing and at that, we have to carry out our own independent research about the casinos or games that they promote to be able to picture our the real deal in it aside from the many fancy things that the influencer may try to flood our screen with.
At most, what you should take them for is just a point of research since they bring to our notice new things and leave for us to confirm their authenticity.
That doesn't mean that you can't have boundaries and morals, as an influencer that has thousands of viewers and you don't know a lot of them personally, it's your duty to be a role model to them because there's probably a child out there that's watching you and you're streaming gambling stuff.
286  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may not hit $24,750 again in 2023 - I'm bullish till 2024 on: October 25, 2023, 05:17:54 AM

Always expect an anomaly.

My guess is that a country will start to liquidate their supply in order to hold it down, if anything were to happen. At the end of the day all countries are at war. The west, the east, Russia, china, US, Israel, middle east, etc. Not primarily a war of violence, but an economic war. Bitcoin is mixed into this war as well. War is not just government, it's people too. I am sure China will eventually move all wealth from BTC to Digital Yuan and cause some form of crash. Maybe even the entire BRICS ecosystem, or, the US will do it themselves. Especially considering they are having problems in their housing market (which will effect a lot of the countries they have also invested in)

Let's also keep in mind that the IBTC SPOT ETF addition to the nasdaq clearing house is not an indicator that it is approved and wil l he traded. However, it's notable nonetheless.

Pessimism aside, today was a significant day Cheesy
I'm not being pessimistic though, I already have a considerable amount of bitcoin in my wallet and I just want to add more to what I currently have because I know that the pump is getting ever closer and I want to make sure that when that happens, I am not going to be saying to myself that I should've bought more bitcoin. I don't know much about how other countries plan to release what they currently have but one thing that I am sure of is that BRICS won't be doing anything, I am pretty sure that they're all currently infighting right now so they're not going to be influencing the bitcoin market or the global market anytime soon.
287  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will $BTC soar beyond 35K or dip below? 🚀📉 on: October 25, 2023, 04:19:53 AM
The next move? Probably down to be honest as profit taking takes hold. However, we are most definitely going to soar above $35,000 in the future and likely the very near future. I think the odds are better than not that we’ll see Bitcoin end the year in the $40,000 range and this recent price action only makes me feel better about that thought.
Does this factor in the result of the approval of bitcoin ETF? Some of the post are saying that if it's approved then it's going to improve the market prices but if not then there's a possibility that the price will either calm down or go down. @mk4 said that we've gone up too high too fast and I can agree with that too because this all happened before, price going up fast and people getting in the hype only to have their hopes up pulled under them giving them losses.
288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can 1 satoshi be worth $1 in the future? on: October 24, 2023, 06:29:28 AM

There is a limit to how long the FED can get away with printing so much money, even at the current levels there are countries already complaining about the current system and they are looking for a way out, now it is true those attempts are on the weak side at the moment, but if the US kept printing money then those attempts will do nothing but to increase, also if one satoshi was equal to one dollar this just means the dollar as a way to measure value will become useless, but bitcoin could still be valuable as long as you could still buy expensive assets with it.
I know that there's a limit but given how billions of dollars in currency is lost or destroyed yearly in USD, I think that they're going to get away with printing more dollars to their name not to mention that they just keep doing loans on the Federal Reserve so they have no choice but to print more and since they're still the global reserve currency, I think we just have to bear with them printing papers that's slowly becoming worthless by the years. By the way, the countries that are complaining about the US being a reserve currency and it's influence on the global market, is still out there in shambles and they don't know how to compose themselves because they want to rule the other coutry members that they're trying to work with so US isn't scared.
289  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may not hit $24,750 again in 2023 - I'm bullish till 2024 on: October 24, 2023, 04:56:53 AM
Are we really sure that it's not going to? I hope your analysis is wrong because I've been slowly accumulating bitcoin and I have another upcoming big money coming and I want to make sure I'm buying a lot of bitcoin for a discounted price. But hey, if that's not going to be the case, I guess I'll just buy bitcoin in December and hope that I still get a lot of bitcoin value out of the money I'm going to get.
290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anybody expected this? on: October 24, 2023, 03:39:58 AM
Bitcoin pumping is like Gandalf the Grey or White (whatever color you want him to be), you don't expect when he will arrive or when he will say farewell, he comes and goes whenever he pleases. I think that's the apt analogy that I can think off when it comes to our expectation about the price of bitcoin pumping. A meme that I can think of that's akin to this event is the "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition" meme.

291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin’s long-term investors own over 76% of all BTC for the first time on: October 23, 2023, 03:01:56 PM
Most probably those hodler bought their Bitcoin at a cheaper price and they are just waiting for the next bull run before taking profit. This could be a good study about Bitcoin adaption as well and I’m also part of it since most of my holdings are with Bitcoin right now. The next hull market will be a big thing, let’s hope that whales will not take profit at the early part of the bull market so we can still see the real peak with Bitcoin.
To accumulate that much I don't think they did all of that when the price was going down or when the price was down, pretty sure that some big company out there are buying no matter what the price is because as you've said, they're waiting for the bullrun and while they're waiting, they might as well continue accumulating no matter what the price is and in regards to whales taking profit early, the best thing that you can do about this is to take the profit when you have the feeling that the whales are going to make waves or a better option would be that you should have a certain price where no matter what, that's where you're going to sell all your bitcoins and then hope that it's the price right when bitcoin's about to go down again to do some correction.
292  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the fall of Elon Musk's empire imminent? on: October 23, 2023, 12:17:23 PM
I don’t think so, he’s one of the smartest guys in the world. Everything he does is meticulously planned, I don’t think he is remotely close to seeing his house of cards tumble down. Don’t forget TESLA is propped up by government subsidies. Twitter (X) will turn into a profitable business I’m sure.
So the guy behind the scenes that we're actually doing the hardwork are just nothing then? Did Elon really written the codes for the OpenAI? I can't really disagree that he's not smart, you can't really create companies that do different works if you're not smart but I would say that he's more of a visionary more than anything. I gotta ask though, how is X going to be profitable though? You didn't offer any insight on how that can be so I'm curious how.
293  Economy / Economics / Re: Women are more economical than men. on: October 23, 2023, 03:18:59 AM
Of course it's true, women are better managers than men, men always spend money randomly. In that case women understand well where to spend money and they always spend money calculatedly. Besides, women are used to saving, they never waste money unnecessarily, they can save very well, which protects them from big dangers later. In this case, women are more frugal than men.
I don't know if you're answer is based on statistics or on experience but if it's experience, it would be an unreliable answer because it's not basing off a large population, I would probably say the same thing because in my family, my mother is the one that does the budgeting but that can't mean that women are economical, what if the answer is that both gender are economical and that they're main difference is scaling, women are good at money managing in household level but men at the stocks level or investment fund level although that's another gender equality in the workplace debate which digresses from the point.
294  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: October 23, 2023, 01:28:44 AM
The one thing that worked for me, was to avoid walking around in Malls (large shopping complex).. where there are a high concentration of merchants in close proximity. (The temptation is just too much, when you have shops all around you... with large signs that a showing massive discounts)  Roll Eyes

Also avoid buying the latest cellphones or competing with the Jones's ... because you over spend, when you try to compete with friends. I also reduced the money that I pend on takeaways ... by making my own "cheaper" food.  Grin Grin Cool
Another tip that can help you when you are strolling on the mall, is to not go there hungry that's going to cut your spending in there because even if the food is attracting, you're not going to give in because you have a full belly. Your 2nd advice has been my thing ever since I was in highschool, don't get caught in the race towards having all the stuff in the world because the things that you own and plan to own is going to end up owning you eventually.
295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 22, 2023, 03:25:03 PM
My luck is to much bad in gambling. First time I gamble in a cricket match. The match is to unlucky for me. I lost something around 4$ in the match. Then I stop gambling for some time. After some day I again start gambling that time I prepare my self better the my before version. Then I started to gamble again. That time I start playing small amount of money I can take a rick. Then when time goes day by day my experience and knowledge. Now my experience is increasing and the winning rate is increasing.

There is no luck exist in the gamble. If you work porperly you experience will increase and make your winning level high. There is no luck exist in gamble. Your hard work and experience help you here luck matters but experience needed.
The absence of beginner's luck should've been your wake up call then and there that you shouldn't pursue anymore gambling but you still did it, you played again. Also I wouldn't see that you gaining experience and knowledge in gambling should be a justification of your action to continue gambling, at the long run I am sure that you're going to lose more money than winning anything. I wouldn't agree with you about not having any luck in gambling and it's all skill, how can you say that to someone who only plays slot machines? I don't know if there's a proper way to pull down the stick to make the slots spin.

Regarding how lucky I am with gambling, I would say it's 70/30 for me, 70 is unlucky and 30 lucky, those 30 is pretty big but I don't gamble much so that 30 is not a likely thing to happen to me when I am gambling, I don't mind though it's not like I can do a thing about all of it, if the wheels of fate want me to be this unlucky then so be it I guess, I'll just gamble for fun so I can compensate and justify my lose streak.
296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: October 22, 2023, 02:27:12 PM
~
The easiest example we may have often encountered is parents who are too busy with smartphones. Their children see that they can do it too so they will borrow the smartphones of their parents or people nearby to try as their parents did. Moreover, if children see what their parents are doing, they try doing it with their friends.
These kind of parents aren't the kind of parents that don't deserve to have a children, parents that are on the phone most of the time are the kind that would raise childrens that will find attention no matter the cost. And with such neglectful parents then there's a big chance that the children's going to have a bad moral compass since being neglectful means that they're not properly guided and with little to no guidance they will be easily influenced into trying gambling at an early age although it's going to happen at a later age though when the need for attention becomes something that's in subconscious.
297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: October 22, 2023, 07:03:51 AM
It seems a loosing bet.
But I think this has been posted probably like some form of hidden advertising, or a banal attempt to promote oneself activity on social media.
I always find publishing these bet slips to be a bad idea, especially from the point of view of... superstition Roll Eyes
It's not hidden if everyone on the Internet can see it, of course it's to advertise him and to gain him Internet clout, why else would someone post this then? Pretty sure there's nothing virtuous about him posting this on social media. Maybe for you it is but sometimes some people want the justification of their decision to be sympathized by many people so it can ease the anxiety behind it or in the case of emoney, you just have to flex how much money you can afford to lose.
298  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake phishing on: October 22, 2023, 02:12:37 AM
~
How it did become to fit out on scam accusation? He had been phished and its not on the platform itself about having that mistake because its clear that its users mistake and error on why he had let someone do able to access his account.
I don't know dude but the fact that you've answered that OP became the victim of phishing speaks for why this should be on Scam Accusations board, don't the phishing websites are also posted there too? Plus that's where you find the cautionary tales of what not to do and what to do in case you encounter a scam right and not this board, I think it's a common sense to put it there.
299  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▄■▀■▄ 🌟BITVEST.io🌟 💰WIN BY 🔶PLAY 📈INVEST➡🔺🎲🎰🔲 | BET CONTEST ▄■▀■▄ on: October 22, 2023, 01:11:44 AM

I won't totally agree with your assertion here, i know that like you said, Bitvest started from this forum and have had its history and popularity tied to this forum, they have been away for quit a long time now which i believe the very many of us gamblers on this forum already know, and good thing now that they are back, they already re-relaunched their signature advertisement campaign to announce to the entire forum of their presence again.
That's okay if you don't agree, I know that the way that I think of how they approach their waking is bit odd for many and that I kind of tolerate them for being silent a long time.
~
Now, no matter how popular a casino is, they still need to engage their customers in one way or the other, and one of such ways is through promotions and maybe some events which could have their customers winning some prizes, this is another good form of marketing as well, example of casino doing this is Roobet, such an activity can make a gambler who was not even ready to play on the casino to change their mind and join in the fun, most especially when they see some of their friends in it as well.
Yes you are right, that they should do something different to make their presence but right now that we're talking about them in their thread means that I am right a little bit about their fame that they don't need a bit of what you've suggested although they could've done so and given that they're already starting the campaign so I think they don't need to do a lot anymore.
300  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake phishing on: October 21, 2023, 02:16:54 PM
Sorry guys but I don't know what you are still arguing about! It's obvious that OP has been scammed but it appeared that stake has nothing to do with this scam. What are you still arguing about?
I'm not going to read the replies on the past eight pages but am sure this topic doesn't deserve such attention
. OP should change the topic's title to make it more appropriate as stake has nothing to do with whatever happened to him.
The perpetrator didn't get anything out of it because the perpetrator just used the account to gamble so I don't know how they can report it as getting scammed but OP did definitely become a victim of a phishing attack and a much worse one because from what I've read, it looks like OP's attacker had control over his account remotely which is scary because that can mean that the hacker can probably access private files. I would probably be careful about my wording when it comes to this topic not deserving such attention, you're right that Stake doesn't have anything to do with it but I think that since they're the platform involved, maybe they can offer some help?

And to OP, I think that it's in your best interest to do this kind of post in Scam Accusations board and follow the format on reporting a scam or the incident and try to provide the screenshots that might help you regain that money if that can ever be a possibility.
