CfB,and or BCNext

can you please give this top priority?

We need someone to say if Crypto and Curve25519 code doesn't have bugs/flaws.

Is that descriptive enough?  I need a decent write up (w/ links) so I can send to her something that won't lead to more questions.  I can have you two email directly if that is easier.

Specifically, we would like a critique of the sha256 and curve25519 implementations used for block signing and other transaction processing.  Source is available at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg4287127#msg4287127 and while there have been newer released versions which have not had source released, the signing algorithms that we need expert audit of have not changed.  And it is possible for a java decompiler to decompile the latest version a http://download.nxtcrypto.org/ if you so desire to do so.

Unfortunately there is no official white paper however there is very very early draft available at:
http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/Whitepaper:Nxt#NXT:_a_peer-to-peer_digital_economy_system

But unfortunately, as I said, it is an extremely early version with no math/proofs in it. In detail, our lead developer has stated: "We need security review of Crypto and Curve25519 classes. Also Transaction.sign/verify and Block.sign/verify should be checked. And I would like to hear opinion if NRS algo could be vulnerable to attacks described in http://eprint.iacr.org/2007/357.pdf"

Green Nxt: exotic video, new version:
http://youtu.be/cP4KFH6Iz0g

feel free to share

Good video, perhaps a typo though, "Mine Forge Nxt with your smartphone or raspberry pi"

or did you use mine for attraction value to a newcomer

You know how I know BCNext is not a native English speaker?  A native English speaker never would have used the word "forge" positively in connection with currency.

I dont believe bcnext came up with that term

Higher risk should get higher return.

Direct payments should get more then escrow, they  took actual risk. What risk is there in Escrow?  Early-birds more then second stage. If you intend to be truly fair that's how u should reward investors. I know you escrow guys would not be pleased Grin. Punters would agree with me.

I disagree, but not for reaons you may suspect.  IMO, a reputable person would choose to just not associate their program with all the scams we've had lately that have followed just the model you suggest.

FFS people, its the weekend, you expect Anon to be at your service 24x7x365?  WTFO

In any event, im guessing its about 50/50 chance of being a scam on eXo's part.  Even though I do have some BTC now with Anon136.  My reasoning: The people going through escrow have nothing at all to lose except the small escrow fee.  If it is indeed a scam, then eXo just counts out escrow people, and the idiots who sent BTC/LTC directly to eXo were the targets all along; by offering to use a reputable escrow service, eXo gave them a false sense of security.

So if you are going to use escrow, then you have NOTHING to gain by waiting until 2nd/3rd stage.  Thats the deal here; why even offer 1st/2nd/3rd stages if you allow escrow to get in on 1st stage and not require a release of funds until well into 3rd stage, unless it is a scam targeting a few fools who send funds out of escrow.

In any event, if its not a scam, the open alpha/beta better really be kickass, since the market cap we are looking at for beginning will be fairly high at it is looking now.

I need the community to read the shit I wrote and correct me, please Smiley

http://mynxt.org/beta/features.html

You forgot this feature:

NXT comes with a  built in  hitman  Cool

 Grin

Mario, you really should make a note that all of these features are still not implemented at all. Except TF, which is still very incomplete

I'm not registered there.

Whoever runs the wiki, can you remove the registration requirement?

Joefox keeps it locked down for a reason.  Just PM him here and im sure he'll add you

Code:
SSL can be enabled for both the API server and the UI server (default disabled).
If this is done, the corresponding ports will accept https requests only. There
is no way currently to have both http and https supported at the same time, but
this can be added, I just didn't see the need for it.
If you enable SSL, you need to set nxt.keyStorePath and nxt.keyStorePassword,
and obviously you need to have your own SSL certificate (self-signed or signed
by a CA) in a keystore file. I have only tested this with a self-signed
certificate.

I am guessing that it ain't so simple to run it using HTTPS now although really if you are running it locally I don't think HTTP is a problem (if something running locally is sniffing your packets then I'd be surprised if it wasn't also logging your keystrokes).

Also, if we enable https,  will the update tool we have that requires non-https cease to work?

Ive wiki'ed a howto for ssl on current codebase,  ill get it ipdated before the 0.7 train obsoletes.

NXTcrypto.org is happy to announce it mid-point sale!

We acknowledge that letting a small minority of users have many NXT was unfair, and now we're making up for that.

1 bitcoin bought here will earn you 30,000 NXT coins.
1 litecoin bought here will earn you 10,000 NXT coins.

Official NXT bitcoin address is :16D1Np59BZr4r6SvLTDT2FZqUQSKvCvRjL
Official NXT litecoin address is: LUrQ1mS39py12EQ8ZNs3XFHwfnvrRYBPq2

Sale ends tomorrow at 11 am eastern, to stop a flooding of new users buying bitcoins to get a large amount of NXT>

Nice scam you got there

I could imagine that 15% is way too low for that much coins.

Agreed. Given the success, maybe make only two rounds? 20% then 10%? Even then.. I don't know

+1

The 1st round just might get shafted. I suggest you change the scheme.

I think it is too late for changing scheme - Opening post is clear about distribution pattern and some decisions have been made according to that. I left 0.5BTC for second round just in case one gets more exo/btc then;)

at bottom of 1st page and top of 2nd, OP discussed 'stealing' from parts 2 and 3 should the scenario arise that those later groups had mroe bang for the buck.

But something like that really should be edited into the OP

@CFB Back in November when the community needed bootstrapping servers, i purchased one and you had set it up. I don't believe you have touched the server since, so my question, is this server still needed? This is a Digital Ocean 2gb ram/40 gb ssd server, is this overkill as well? If this server is still needed i would like to have it up to date and running, otherwise I'm just throwing money away. Perhaps a community member would like to volunteer to manage? I honestly don't have time right now to manage, but don't mind keeping it on if it is of use to the community and utilized.

if you want you can downgrade it to a 1GB nonSSD VPS and I can manage it with my other 24 servers for NRS

That would be great. The last droplet I had was Cent OS 6.4 x64, would this stay the same? Also, i do not see an option for a nonSSD in the Digital Ocean droplet creation tool. I see 1GB CPU/30 GB SSD/2 TB Transfer

please rename the device to lyynx.vps.nxtcrypto.org, then reinstall to debian6 x64.  SSD is fine, but unncesessary.  and get me the IP address and root password after reinstall and Ill can put it into my automated NRS system.  After I get your DNS A record put in you can go in and set reverse DNS PTR record in the control panel.

>>>YOUR REASON DOES NOT MAKE LOGICAL SENSE<<<<
...
Even then if a person does not chose to have anon release the coins, he can send the portion back to you (minus his fee) and if exo is that good you will have no problem selling them at nice profit.
...

NO.  this is the definition of a PREMINE.  The appropriate action to handle eXo that was not transfered out of genesis to a legit buyer due to these reasons you have laid out is to recalculate ratios and distribute it out to the pool of buyers.

as already answered (ok there are quite some pages now, do not want to blame you) you will have to release the funds one day before the official LAUNCH. so you can participate in an open beta before. You will see within the whitepaper that there are some technical details that do not match the bitcoin protocol at all. Please wait for the whitepaper (23rd february). Of course you can invest after the release if it is too suspicious for you now. It is up to you.

Ok what all features will be available for open beta

At what point do the early birds have to completely commit their funds out of escrow and into OP's account?  Is that point in time before or after the client/blockchain release for beta testing?  If that point in time is before, then its a huge risk indeed.  And if that point is after, my thinking is anyone could modify current bitcoin code and compile to produce a different looking client that merely *looks* legit.  So OP, in either case, what all next-generation features will be available for testing as soon as client/blockchain beta release is issued?

Some time ago CfB posted a little procedure for exchanges to use for accounting of deposits.  Does anyone have that?  Iv done a bit of searching but cant find it

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=430467 if his claims are true than there could be a lot of opportunity here. He accepts escrow but refuses to release the source before I release my escrow. Even though the code will be closed source, he promises to release a working client before i release my escrow. My concern is that maybe he will simply change a few values in nxt and add a new graphical fronted so that it looks like brand new software but is actually just a clone of nxt.

what do you guys think? is there a way of telling whether or not he copied nxt without seeing the source?

if he did copy NXT then he not only ported to c++ but he also added PoW component.  Id be more concerned of him cloning CGB/ADT or some other Pos/PoW coin

Do you see these same folks posting 'scam' on the NEM thread?

You don't.
...

you should really do your research before posting stuff, just make it look more and more like you dont know what you are talking about.

Well,  where are the Nxt posters on the NEM thread posting "scam" in huge red fonts?

All I am saying is that these Nxt poster are extremely hypocritical if they are spamming this thread because they see competition, meanwhile they are being silent on the NEM thread.

you are obviously just not paying attention.  look at member 2kool4skewls posts in NEM thread.

GCInc / Graviton,

Please edit your cloudflare settings for CAPTCHA access to the forums.  When using tor, the CAPTCHAs provided are downright IMfuckingPOSSIBLE to get.  You should be able to select a bit less complicated CAPTCHAs to solve for access.

I dont mind having to solve a CAPTCHA when accessing your forums when using tor, but your level of difficulty on them is just way too high.
Am I the only one using TOR?
