I don't know about this "recession" We have the lowest unimployment rate in a very long time in Sweden, and as I understand it this goes for the rest of the westrn world as well, that's not a recession.
Housing prices are plummeting and inflation is high, but no one is out of a job, this seems to me more like a normal correction in the housing market and a adjustment to a high inflation environment.
The war is also good for the economy, everybody now sees the true face of Russia and is therefore arming up, on top of that all that equipment given to Ukraine has to be replaced by new equipment. And on top of that comes the lend-lease deal, which will give Ukraine spanking new equipment that has to be produced. Remember, all the equipment given to Ukraine so far is outside the lend-lease deal, when that equipment starts to be delivered there will be a torrent of equipment going in to Ukraine not seen since The US sent lend-lease stuff to USSR during WW2.
I am not joking when I say I would consider Sweden for retirement if the US goes completely bonkers (which it seems to be although the country I live in: Texas, might just make it even in spite of the border.) I mean... Good folks, furniture and car parts stores with restaurants, reasonable gun laws... It might just be the right spot. How are the beaches? I assume the Baltic ,and Bothania don't have very frisky waves... then again I am not a surfer really. Probably better than Galveston, and closer than Padre.

Moderate inflation (10% ish) doesn't kill countries, I grew up with inflation like that, everybody just adapts. The reason Ceylon is going belly up is because they outlawed artifical fertilizers and "went green" to the point where people couldn't make a living anymore. No fertilizers=smaller crops=less income=belly up. but you won't see that in MSM. Edit: maybe you will after all. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/12/07/world/asia/sri-lanka-organic-farming-fertilizer.htmlIt may sound a bit bleak. But my hope is once people start dying because of "ESG" type bullshit and the things that are currently being jammed down the throats of the common man that enough NFCs in places of power (like the NYT etc) will awaken to the threat of hubristic nonsense has hoisted upon us. Really the farmers of Europe of our best hope now... may they have better luck than Canada's truckers.

A quick tip for lightning node management, particularly for LND.
Mind your zombie channels.
if you see a node go offline for a long time, it is good to just nix that channel. If you have a failure (like I did) then it can be troublesome to close the channel because you need the partner to initiate a FC. I only had this with a single channel. And I might actually MAKE MONEY because of it. Because if he does not show up after a certain amount of time I am just going to claim the entire balance via some wizardry... It's nearly impossible to completely lose balances... but I do not want to take any of his sats. Then again if he is gone then at least one of us should have them. I also am 99% sure he opened the channel and all the balance was on his side... poor fellow.
So you really only want channels with reliable nodes.

Maybe they need more guns?
That's a trick question. Who doesn't? I am currently in the market for an exceedingly smooth, low recoil 45 (or maybe 9mm... capacity? Stopping power? Dilemma extraordinaire! ). I want, as I terminally perforate the bastard who is coming into my house to harm my family, not to put any undue stress on my wrist. So I will be trying out a plethora of options at the local range. Will let anyone curious know what I discover. Suggestions welcome. Yes. I am doing this on purpose. This is sort of like when someone on twitter starts posting things to get unfollows. I am looking for ignores. Also Monero matters! OK... I don't REALLY want Jay to ignore me, so I take it back. Sort of. By the way. Japan just disproved a lot of firearms legislation arguments.

A simple suggestion... And a worthwhile reminder... interesting times:

However, the ponzi chain of known and unknown companies shorting tens of thousands BTC is something we didn't have before. And this should be kept in mind and not to be so sure about PlanB or similar simple demand-supply predictions. This is a truly interesting development. With the approved US short ETF, and possibly manipulation by big money. But there is always a flip side to shorts that can be insanely bullish indeed. If they are forced to cover, well it will be quite the show. If they are able to choose to? Then it will be the bottom.

An x-ray of that thing reveals this... Would love to see some volume gathering into the weekend and for the bulls to take a stab at that big candle on the left. We will see!

Now how is a rag-tag band of survivors supposed to know what to do after a global apocalyptic event? (Georgia guide stones) This makes me so happy I am therefore not shrinking the images. It is all I could do not to enlarge them. A thought... with those (at least 2) cameras rolling would they not also have footage during the time the beautiful vandal set up the explosives? A hero in my book whomever they are. After two years of watching assholes tear down and deface historic monuments in my country i have to admit a little feeling of glee with this garbage finally being taken out. In the end I want free speech, and if you want to believe in the sort of anti-human eugenics nonsense these things espoused then more power to ya. I like some of the ideas, but there is a very sinister side to what they had written on them in my opinion.

Yeah, Crypto used to be short for Cryptography, or Cryptographic, or codes and ciphers.
Now it is short for 'ponzi scam' Along the same lines, it seems to be short for speaking in gobbledy-gook in order that nobody knows what the fuck you mean (even if you might know what you mean, which also might be questionable when choosing to use such vague/amorphous language) because you fail/refuse to use the word bitcoin if you are talking about bitcoin... if you know what that is. are we sane?
do we want to be sane? If I have to speak for all of us. Yes "we" do. party pooper hahahaha Someone needs to be designated as the "adult" in the room, and I designate my lil selfie. So designated! So ignored. So much love.

Observation:
Nocoiners, lowcoiners, shitcoiners, mindrusters, et al., are usually the ones that talk too much*, directly or indirectly bashing Bitcoin, insinuating its destruction, and posting smartass funny comments about it, perhaps subconsciously trying to amuse themselves and ease the incoming pain they're all going to have to take. And that's a lot of pain. We're talking PAIN... The thick, flaky, rusty pipe kind of pain...
The HoDLers just chill, relax and patiently wait for the inevitable mega-UPpity, while stacking sats whenever they can. They know their coins are precious and would not part with them no matter what.
Life's good.
HoDL.
* I must exclude Jay, who always talks a lot (and is a HoDLer--and has something to say--most of the time--#no-homo, you fuck!)
Are there any nocoiners or low coiners here in this thread that bash Bitcoin and talk a lot about it (bashing Bitcoin) ? Who do you mean? I mean Death_wish talks a lot, has lost some of his BTC recently, but obviously has much love , and technical understanding of BTC, far more so than many most others here....and I have never seen him bash BTC, maybe talk about potential ways of improving it somehow but other than that... I am a tad confused who you mean? (I see hardly any or even no longterm, consistent posters here that "bash bitcoin" ?) Proudhon? Lambchop? (is she still alive?) Most likely. And most likely Lambchop 4.x is roaming around as we type...

Same. What world do we live in. SO many tables have turned in SO many directions... I just don't know any more.

Edit: Just for the record, death_wish is also excluded. And by "talk too much" I don't just mean long posts, but many posts. They know who they are, and they will soon feel the pain. The rusty pipe, train-in-your-ass kind of pain...
To tell you the truth, sometimes I envy mindrust a bit. The guy made history, he has a fair chance of being mentioned in Bitcoin history books. Of course, he paid the price, but his name has become immortal and he will be remembered in the centuries to come... Genuine question... either my memory fails me, or I just never cared enough.... but what price did mindrust buy/mine at ? He bought around the same price he sold at. I think he bought a little higher than he sold, but together with the forks he came out about even. If I remember it right, getting out before losing money was the main reason for him to pull the trigger... What did that guy even think, that all the other buyers / holders never had to endure any paper losses?? fucking snow flake This is when that "better part of valor" eludes me, and fuck you three letter fuckers. (no offense Gachapin... do not count you among these) The paper losses I have endured. Lol. It might sound stupid... but the resolve to stand firm through the storms has taught me a mighty lesson. In the end I might even start using the word "hodl". Nah... not yet.

I sold my Monero for 0xMonero around the time that Fluffy Pedo was arrested the first time. I'm done with Monero. Think about it. They are putting in a South African prison, one of the most dangerous ones in the world. Don't you think that he would tell the authorities how to track transactions and who the team members are etc. to get a lighter sentence? I'm certain he would. The entire chain is compromised now.
All of this is foolishness. Monero is not Ricardo Spagni. I cannot speculate on what is happening to him, or if he is guilty or innocent. But he cannot tell anyone how to track transactions. People way smarter than him have been working on that forever. The source code is public. 0xMonero? Lol. Tradeogre does not even have a market for that... you might as well just throw away your keys.

I wonder how many realize how important what the Dutch are doing now is, and how the fate of the whole world hinges on the brave men and women fighting this fight. As inspiring as the uprising in Canada was they essentially lost. Hopefully the Canadian elections (as they happen) will shift things in a positive direction.

What is "crypto?" Does it have some kind of relationship to my lil precious?
crypto- /ˈkrɪptəʊ/ Definition: Crypto is the short form for cryptocurrency. Its what the cool kids call Bitcoin because it sounds cooler. Unfortunately this also leads to them buying fake scam coins which are not Bitcoin. Just to be pedantic, this definition absolutely riles up cryptographers.

I have to wonder what happened to Boris though. He was always a bit of a nutter, sure (though many claim that was/is largely an act) but he seemed to get stopped in his tracks somehow and now is just another authoritarian politician.
I noticed this as well! Really odd actually.

So when I logged in this morning and saw the "head-fake" I was about to post... most likely breaks down now. But it was too close to a work meeting. "Now how do you like me?", said Bitcoin. Once again. By the way... this is a symmetrical triangle still trying to break out on the daily. But the fact we are to the nose of it... usually the break outs (in either direction) are strong. We will see? Forming a pretty dragonfly doji too!
