3081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Graph] Average return of Bitcoin, you can't lose money stacking continuously on: October 20, 2021, 11:26:56 AM
The returns will be greater if it continues to be made with time and the price of bitcoin goes up.

People's problem is short-term investments, and the graph has proven that even short-term investments in one year are ideal and profitable, other than in two cases.
The price will continue to increase, but if you buy in large amounts when everyone wants to buy, facts may come true, other than that, continuous buying makes profits.

Did anyone validate this chart? It is using 31st Dec prices for each year?
this chart for 2020 only, 2021 not included but price was at least doubled/
3082  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I want a Turkish number for SMS verification one time on: October 20, 2021, 11:19:56 AM
If I were you, I'd just get someone from Turkey to buy a SIM card and ship it to you.

I don't think it's that complicated, I don't know how smspva.com gets the numbers, but it's impossible that they buy SIM cards for every client from more than 20 countries. they support Egypt and Morocco.

I asked here because I thought there was a similar service to smspva.com, but unfortunately so far I have not found a similar service or an alternative to them that supports other countries, especially Turkey.

I want to sell digital products and all I want is a Turkish number to communicate with customers in that country instead of a strange country number (people are often more skeptical with unknown country code numbers.)
3083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How many bitcoins are needed to buy a house in your country? on: October 19, 2021, 02:59:21 PM
Please only post embedded images (use [ img] URL.jpg[ /img] tags) + BTC rate (USD and/or local currency) + short explanation

Houses are one of the things that you sell your Bitcoins to buy it, but is it better to sell now or wait?
The motives for writing the topic are the following two topics.

Quote

October 2020 the avg house cost 23 Bitcoins.

October 2021 the avg house cost 5 Bitcoins.

Home prices are down 78% over the past year. Anybody know why the housing market crashed over the past year?

Source: What can 1 Bitcoin buy in your country?

So if you have historical data it would be better, otherwise tell us how many bitcoins are needed to buy a house now and several years ago.

I will archive this topic in a few days so that we can compare it after 4 years and see the difference in the houses.
3084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest issue with Bitcoin wallets? on: October 19, 2021, 12:30:40 PM
multicoin wallets:

  • The code should be open source, and a unified standard for including wallet seed support all other wallets.
  • Inability to control fees, computer wallets have weak interfaces, while phone wallets (Android/iOS) do not offer additional protection methods other than traditional methods.
  • New wallet, they have an attractive interface that offers a good display of coins.
  • wallet have same electrum features, support many coins like trust and have interface like new wallet
3085  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum seed on Trezor on: October 19, 2021, 12:13:55 PM
You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding about what a hardware wallet does and how it protects your coins.
I think he is trying to avoid broadcasting his transaction and thus transferring it to the wallet.

It is better for you to create a new (more secure) wallet using Trezor and enhance your privacy by using any method of coin mixing rather than trying to include it because it will not work (against the philosophy of buying a hardware wallet)

The point of protecting your money lies in how your wallet is generated. If it was generated in a dangerous way, including it to hardware wallet or any system will not improve security.

Tactics #1: Chinese regulation trick
This type is called “Nigerian Rich Scam” and it may not be your money but your personal data or any type of fraud that someone needs your help to withdraw money.  Nigerian prince scams still rake in over $700,000 a year

Greed is what drives people to provide such services for free in an attempt to get a higher return.
Sometimes software, locked coins or any kind of gifts are sent.

All the profit that can come to you from a random person on the Internet is a scam.
3087  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Low tide ripe trade on: October 19, 2021, 11:26:51 AM
It's a strategy that looking for a bad day in a long-term bull market, for example when there was a problem with closing oil regions due to hurricanes or a software failure or what happened recently with Facebook.

People tend to buy an asset whose price will rise or fall below its true value, and therefore when the price returns to normal (a rebound occurs), the gain will be quickly achieved.
They represent the bloody days in an upward wave. For example, if an exchange hacked or bad news affected the price in the short term, it represented good buying points and so on.

      2. How does MimbleWimble work?
      3. What are the cons of MimbleWimble?

What Is Mimblewimble?

Mimblewimble is Proof of Work (PoW) blockchain implementation that aims to increase privacy, existing implementations scalability and may ultimately improve the Bitcoin network as a sidechain solution.

MimbleWimble protocol (scalability) addresses the problem away from current protocols, as it focuses on creating a new, abstract protocol. This makes running the node less resource-intensive

How does MimbleWimble work?

it is an expansion of the concept of confidential transactions (CT), in addition to MimbleWimble compressing blocks by "cutting" - a technique for dividing and removing large amounts of data from a block without exposure to security risks.

Reduces the need for inputs and outputs through the introduction of multi-signatures. Therefore, all transactions appear as random data for one person so that they are only visible to the intended users.

Suppose you want to set up a game and ask users to choose a name of cryptocurrency and then all the names are sorted and the winner will be announced who chose the correct name.

You can cheat by knowing all the names and then you say that the requested currency is not mentioned and therefore no one will win the prize.

One solution is to use regular hashes to adhere to data that you want to reveal later, but you can cheat by entering the names of the cryptocurrencies using the SHA256 algorithm and comparing the output with the results.

The best solution is to add some random data to the input which is exactly what happens in the Pendersen commitment chart.

MimbleWimble encrypts all inputs and outputs, as well as its public and private keys. Transactions are confirmed through Pendersen's commitment scheme.

What are the cons of MimbleWimble?

 - Mimblewimble blockchain only keeps the essential information ensure that there is no scam activity as double spending.
 - remove Bitcoin scripting system with add privacy and scalability.
 - requires less computational resources
 - Confidential Transactions and blinding factors

3089  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some of the major hacks in the history of Bitcoin/Cryptocurrencies (CHECK OUT) on: October 19, 2021, 08:59:39 AM
1. By storing your Bitcoin in an offline hardware.
4. By using only trusted web browser for accessing your crypto exchange and wallets, so as to ensure your privacy is safe.
Both tips do not provide additional protection and may cause you to lose your money.
Keeping cryptos offline does not mean that you are safe unless:

  • These addresses are generated randomly and in an offline environment.
  • The seeds did not connect to the Internet and will not connect to it.
  • Signing transactions in an offline mode and broadcasting them only with wallet connected to internet (XPUB).

Using a web browser will expose you to losing your money, all browsers offer weak protection for your money as they often have poor programming and higher conversion fees.
3090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Graph] Average return of Bitcoin, you can't lose money stacking continuously on: October 19, 2021, 08:33:03 AM
I agree with the idea of just holding till maybe you reach your own goal but of course since we know that there remains a big potential for enormous growth with Bitcoin,
The strategy to buy and hodling may not seem right to many people, especially as you get older, you will find that you have a little extra money to start offering some options, and therefore the chart above shows you the appropriate times in general to buy and the times when you should avoid selling.
This cannot be done perfectly, but in general you should take these ratios into account before considering any investment.

Saving (stacking continuously) does not necessarily mean millions of dollars, but investments of $100 per week will be sufficient.
3091  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Seizing Accounts! on: October 18, 2021, 12:49:15 PM
I don't believe these claims and they seem to be an attempt to scare people into checking identity but that doesn't mean they won't Seize your account if they want to.
They have a condition that allows them to seizing your account, you can't do anything, and they can change the databases and delete your account without you being able to prove it.

They will not appear to seizing accounts randomly, but will respond to any request from government agencies.
3092  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can the signals of Twitter accounts be trusted? on: October 18, 2021, 12:09:14 PM
Avoid listening to twitter accounts when you want to invest, especially in altcoins. There are hundreds of signature campaigns that pay these accounts to retweet and make the tweets look realistic.
Investing in all altcoins (except a few) is not always profitable and the price must go down at some point.
Investing in bitcoin is profitable if you buy when people want to sell and vice versa.

This graph is showing the yearly avarage return of #Bitcoin
Source: https://twitter.com/drchopperX/status/1448629376539578368

The chart can be read in reverse, which is that everyone has made profits, except for those who bought in 2013 and sold in 2014, and those who bought in 2017 and sold in 2018.
Keep hodling your coins earns and only sell when you make profits.

Except for that, in all cases, profits were made.

We are still in the blue zone which means the acceleration is likely to increase but keep in mind that the bottom is at 63k
3095  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Problems installing the upate on: October 18, 2021, 11:03:12 AM
Hi I recently got Electrum and created a walllet. However, I only have version Electrum 4.0.9 and I can't update it to 4.1.5.
I know, sounds stupid but I really need help.

 I have Parrot OS 4.11

Most of these problems are that parts of the old Electrum app are working in the backgroud and thus preventing the update, deleting all data (even temporary files) and restarting the device will solve the problem.
Make sure you keep the seed in a safe place before deleting all files.
3096  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurs, money and investing - your culture on: October 18, 2021, 10:47:39 AM
This way of thinking does not do compel people to seek financial education or try to build a business. What about your country?
The problem lies in the firm belief that money is real and must be earned through fatigue, and therefore you must get a job, pay the basics, and when there is little left, you can save a little of it.

Another misconception is that investing and owning workers for you is age-related, so you must be old to be able to run a business.

And from it you find that we learn about money late when our responsibilities start to increase and then we only have to work hard and find more jobs.

Our experience about investment does not count only trading or owning a house or several homes.
3097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [GUIDE] wrapped token on: October 18, 2021, 10:08:08 AM
Table of contents

      1. What Is wrapped token?
      2. What are the similarities and differences between it and stablecoins?
      3. how does the wrapping process work?
      4. Does all Wrapped tokens on ETH?
      5. Limitations of wrapped tokens

What Is wrapped token?

It is a token pegged to the value of another crypto by putting the original asset into digital vault called wrapper that allows the wrapped version to be created on another blockchain.
What is the reason for the complexity? The main reason is that the different blockchains cannot talk to each other. Thus the Bitcoin blockchain does not know what is happening on the Ethereum blockchain.

What are the similarities and differences between it and stablecoins?

The similarity is that it derives its value from another origin. For example, stablecoins derive their value from paper money, which is similar to it. In the case of wrapped token, it is usually an asset that originally lives on another blockchain.

As for the difference, it is how to keep and give the value, since in stablecoins it is claimed that there is a dollar in the bank therefore you need to trust them. Wrapped tokens typically require a custodian that can be a multisig wallet o a smart contract. So, in WBTC's case, the custodian needs to hold 1 BTC for each 1 WBTC that is minted. Proof of this reserve exists on-chain.

how does the wrapping process work?

A merchant sends BTC for the custodian to mint. The custodian then mints WBTC on Ethereum according to the amount of BTC sent. When the WBTC needs to be exchanged back to BTC, the merchant puts in a burn request to the custodian, and the BTC is released from the reserves.

Does all Wrapped tokens on ETH?
No, you can have Wrapped tokenson other chains like BSC.

Limitations of wrapped tokens

requires a custodian, to hold the tokens in the vault, so it’s not really decentralized.
Fees for wrapping tokens are also quite high

3098  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook Diem on the run for launch on: October 18, 2021, 10:04:34 AM
I do not think that Facebook in its best condition to start a new war, which is launching a digital currency and urging its huge community to do so. There are many problems they face:

  • Cambridge Analytica scandal and privacy protection.
  • Data manipulation and extremist content control scandal.
  • Problems of monopoly and their possession of evidence bases.
  • Privacy issues in WhatsApp.
  • The recent problems that led to the freezing of all its applications for more than 4 hours.

the society is now not ready to launch digital currencies or start spending, especially with supply chain problems.
3099  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Cryptocurrency for 1 Week! on: October 17, 2021, 03:02:13 PM
Cryptocurrency trading last week was very profitable so no matter how bad you are, you will make a profit, but we cannot describe it as a profit.
Long-term altcoin trading is unsuccessful, inaccurate and the potential for higher losses.
Bitcoin trading is profitable, but we definitely cannot build a perception on Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies and describe them as success or failure in a short period or a week if you dont have and old trading experience.

Even if everything is legitimate, what is the use of the money if you are going to withdraw it in the form of tokens that are only listed on scam platforms or at least you cannot withdraw them.
Even when you want to sell, you will discover that the trading volumes are very low.
YOBIT exchange bumping low volumes scam coins to scam newbies.
