I hate to necro an old thread, but is this still disabled?  I was just about to add it before the last attack >.<   Any plans to get this back and going?  Does it matter if my avatar has a kool cat in it?  that has to be worth something...

Still disabled, it will be back eventually.
322  Other / Meta / Re: Can we get a poker sub-forum in gambling... on: December 13, 2013, 02:45:25 AM
Count me in, a poker childboard would be really nice!

I think we need a lot more people to convince either SaltySpitoon (if he has that power, IDK) or theymos.

theymos or John K will have to do it, moderators can't create new boards.
323  Other / Meta / Re: "Giveaway only accounts"/Sockpuppets on: December 13, 2013, 02:42:47 AM
Is giving them negative feedback OK?

Yup, you can give anyone feedback about anything (the system isn't moderated)
324  Other / Meta / Re: It would be nice if the site filtered out referral URLs on: December 12, 2013, 07:59:28 PM
There is a lot of referral spam on this site. I think it would be great if bitcointalk.org automatically filtered out URLs with "cex.io/r".

And "pyramining.com/referral", too.

Yeah I'm getting sick of the amazon affiliate spam too.
For now just hit the report to moderator button so we can deal with them.

Are referral links still allowed in signatures?

Yes, they're allowed in signatures just not posts.
325  Other / Meta / Re: Small question on: December 11, 2013, 06:27:17 PM
Trust system is not moderated.

After a quick glance at recent posts I see no reason why a ban would be necessary.
326  Other / Meta / Re: Want to change 'grabhive' to 'hivewallet' on: December 10, 2013, 07:52:16 PM
Theymos is being annoyingly unresponsive as of late. Angry

It is finals week for most schools...

The patent isn't for Bitcoin.  Did you actually read the patent application?

It doesn't appear that way, he just wants to freak out about news he doesn't understand.

Updated title and moving to the correct section!

How does creating a new thread help?  If they didn't see other threads than no one will see this one either....  Tongue
Mods should delete 'avatars disabled' spam.

Haha. True, or merge them. I'm not that fussed really as commenting on them keeps my post count rising Cheesy.

Jesus dude, 714 posts since Nov 20... seems like someone is spamming.
330  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone use btcrobot.com? on: December 07, 2013, 03:25:24 PM
guys i am planning to buy this. can you guys tell me is it real or a scam. and i can i make a profit out of it?

I would advise against buying it, you'll probably lose BTC while using it.

332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A survivalist friend wants to put Bitcoin into his emergency "bug-out" bag. How? on: December 07, 2013, 02:45:58 AM
as we know human society is very fragile with only a veneer of civility.

i have a friend who is a prepper. he is putting together "go-to" bags in cases when society break down e.g. hurrricane katrina, terrorists detonate a dirty nuke in nyc, war with china etc.

in addition to gold coins and food and first aid stuff etc, he wants to add bitcoin to his emergency kits.

keep in mind there will be no communication grids and power grids available.

how can he incorporate bitcoin?

Why would anyone be using bitcoin in that situation?
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have over 33,000 bitcoins. on: December 06, 2013, 08:05:09 PM
Added a note to the OP stating:

MOD NOTE:
This is most likely a troll, don't believe otherwise till you see a message signed by an address that actually controls a large number of coins.

If it's removed by OP that will confirm troll status, I will remove it if a message is actually signed.
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have over 33,000 bitcoins. on: December 06, 2013, 08:00:46 PM
So it's looking like OP is trolling, haven't seen a signed message yet.
335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have over 33,000 bitcoins. on: December 06, 2013, 07:10:42 PM
OP,

Sign a message with https://blockchain.info/address/1Cz1pTK8GxsJqdHQrFLWh77WwYsyqyDX3k to prove that you're not a bullshit troll.
336  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: show hashes (hmac) of IP addresses on: December 06, 2013, 04:06:17 PM
It's not useless, it would rise the difficulty of sockpuppeting. The issue is though: We don't yet know how the forum policy on sockpuppets is, I haven't seen a clear statements on the side of the admins ans some users (Tradefortress ring a bell) are commonly suspected of sockpuppeting while being endorsed by theymos.

The solution might have some privacy issues. People could store the hashes and since it is possible to embed third party pictures obtain the ips at key places for some nasty data mining.

You can have as many accounts as you'd like.

339  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The future to BITCOIN on: December 05, 2013, 04:39:14 PM
I would advise against giving OP any money, probably a scam.
340  Other / Meta / Re: Change Letter Case in Existing Username? on: December 03, 2013, 06:50:26 PM
Or just create a new account because it'll be quicker and easier for you.
