Much to dmwardjr’s chagrin, I pulled the trigger on two more mini’s. A risk I’m willing to take for 600USD a pop.

What was the shipping cost and duties?
I chose DHL, it was $99 for shipping. Not sure what duties will be, probably 10%, I’m in Canada.

Just don't have the cash to pull the trigger on more, but it would bring the cost average down a bit

im sure they release a new asic one day after the coupons expire.
probably EtHash...

Have you not done research into ETH's discussion on fork to PROG Proof of Work?  They already said they will fork.

Source please ?

Go to Ethereum's YouTube channel and listen to conversations the developers have been having recently.

How about an offiical press release.

So if you bought batch one you get 2 coupons, if you bought batch 2 you get 2X the product?

Indeed, but with delivery in aug-sep.

I would rather have taken the 2x product instead of coupons tbh!

We should have gotten the coupons and a miner now and a 2nd one later.

Ouch, that is a huge gap in shipment dates... Not cool at all.  Not sure why they would bundle up 77 orders then wait for 3 weeks to ship the next batch.
They sent them out to all the shills and supporters of Bitmain 1st.  The rest of us have to suffer, so the shills can ROI

I'm not a shill. I just happened to be ordering a B3 when the Z9 appeared in the store.

I know it's sarcasm...  I miss dmwardjr's wise words already!!

Time for the S11+mini!!

When I bought my mini's I figured there would be an X9.  Thing is the mini's are perfect for home, they are as quiet as a GPU right, and don't draw a lot of power.  There is a market for them, deal with it

Again, this. It's like saying Mac Minis are a conspiracy because Mac Pros exist.

I know that, but our thread troll wants everyone to think if you bought a mini you are going to be screwed because one Bitmain is evil and 2 the Z9 will be 50 times faster at a 10th of the price.

Haha, I know, I was agreeing with you, you'll get no drama from me. Smiley

It's turning out that the actual Z9 may just be a standard length version of the mini, so just double the cards, since so far I have oc'ed mine more than 60% with zero HW errors after 24hrs. 2x1.6=3.2, which is easily in the 3-4x range mentioned on Twitter. These things are grossly underclocked.

EDIT: for others reading this I'm not saying you should go that high, I am totally willing to risk my Z9 to see how far it goes. It could very well burn out at any time, I am not endorsing overclocking and voiding your warranty, just sharing my experiences.

I'm still waiting for mine.

Hey dmwardjr, the domain ihatebitmain.com is available, you should jump right on that!!

THANK YOU,

Dude thinks he's Sherlock Holmes and solved the worlds biggest mystery. The fact that they need to announce the Z9 to confirm this revelation is pretty sad.

ROFL... You guys crack me up.

I said FROM DAY ONE THE "MINI WAS ANNOUNCED" on several social media sites that "mini" implies ANOTHER Z9 "BEAST" exists.  Don't believe me, look through all my posts from history, moron.

Hell, look on ZCash Forum for posts from ProwdClown and you'll see I mentioned it from day one.  Even a moron like yourself could figure that out.

Sounds like to me I've found another stressed out purchaser of a Z9 who will get their unit in August/September and he's pissed I've got him stressed out talking about forks.

 Grin

I'm waiting for the day when Bitmain builds a miner that can mine any algo with just a firmware change.  When that happens dmwardjr will really lose his shit!!

His dream of every coin going to an algo that will set GPUs as the standard and throttle any other miner may happen for some coins but not all.  Imagine Bitcoin going to this kind of also.

Give it time dmwardjr, you're GPU days are limited.  Technology doesn't stop because you want it to.  Bitmain and others will make miners that are faster, more efficient, and cheaper than GPU rigs.  They have already started and if you think they are going to quit because you are crying you're really screwed up.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] Solo Mining - Many Coins Including The Big 3: Bitcoin Litecoin Zetacoin on: June 04, 2018, 12:34:04 PM
I had blocks marked orphaned on the list, but the block explorer said they were valid blocks.  Reported it on the form and never received an answer.  Use this pool at your own risk.  Do not expect any help from the pool operator.  If you have blocks that don't get paid it's no ones fault but your own.  You have been warned!!

dmwardjr,

Thank you for your concern and effort to make us all aware of the perils of doing business with Bitmain.  I think we all get it now after the multiple so many pages and posts.  Can we move on now?  I'm sure there are better things you could do with your day/s.  What do you need to hear from the members of this topic for you to back off a little and let other folks express their opinions without your commentary?

I would really love to hear from some folks that already have their units and are running them?  Early (LUCKY) owners of Z9's pls share.

Thank you!

If you go back several pages, a couple of us reported in on Thursday/Friday, but I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. Smiley

Any other pools other than Antpool working yet?

Very well said, I for one can't wait for my mini's to arrive!!  Merit given

have you guys seen this? what you think guys, can we mine with that?

https://www.nvidia.co.uk/data-center/hgx/

Thanks for posting the link.  Clearly the escalation of the tech is getting more specialized and will continue to migrate to the data centers and the cloud.  Less and less of this gear is going to be accessible by average people.

I wonder if nvidia is mining with the unused GPUs in their data center (Wouldn't that just frost dmwardjr's cookie!!)
