321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 15, 2024, 10:32:29 PM
I remember Wilder after his draw with Fury entered the rematch his heaviest in his career but was humiliated. He changed team and once again tried his heaviest weight in the third match but was again knocked out. After that Wilder dropped in weight like his old days but was taken to school by Parker. So I wonder how much he weigh in his next fight.

He was the favorite during the first and 2nd fight between Fury, but in the 3rd, Fury ended and proved that he had won all 3 fights. Wilder was a 100% KO artist before he fough Fury, but he just found his kryptonite as he could not KO Fury, the guy got knock down, got up and continue like nothing happen/ I think that's really how strong Fury is, he might not be a KO artist but anyone who would fight him would struggle to beat him especially if they are thinking of pull up an impressive win.

That is the real strength of Fury; he can deliver big punches that can knock someone out with 1 hi but he can also take the big punches (like from Wilder). To be honest, I didn't expect Fury to recover from all the hits he took in the first fight, but somehow he survived and still won 2 of the 3 fights and drawed the other one.

And that is the big difference between AJ and Fury, Fury has so much recuperation power, I agree with you that no boxer can comeback from that devastating big punch from Wilder and yet we see Fury on the canvass, open his eyes and get up. And this can't be teach by any boxing trainer it's either you have it or don't. And Fury also proved that against Ngannou.

Anyhow, I think the OP should lock this thread for good already.

I think we've given our thoughts on this fight, and most likely after this lost, Ngannou will go back to PFL and fight again and then see if he will go back to boxing in the future.
322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Paper Betting- Would You Consider it if you Were to Start Sports betting Again on: March 15, 2024, 10:07:15 PM
If you were to restart sports betting again, would consider learning first by betting on paper. This involves selecting 1 to 2 games daily and tracking the outcomes of your picks without wagering real money on a sportsbookie platform.
Quote
Paper betting refers to participating in sports gambling without fronting any money. The idea is to learn the ropes without actually risking real money.
https://www.bettingsite.org/blog/paper-sports-betting-what-is-it-what-are-the-advantages-11569/
It is just like demo trading. Would do it if you were to begin sports betting again or jump right straight into the real thing?

Maybe for beginners, but for those who have been in sports betting for years, I doubt that they will go in this stage. If ever they try then there will be something of a void, something is missing and that is the adrenaline of winning real money here.

Nothing is bad for those who are going to start with paper betting, but this could be just for education purposes.

And as I have said, when we gamble there are a lot of emotions involved. And it can't be replicated in paper betting. The dynamics of betting with real money is very different and it can't be replicated without wagering.
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Man bet his life savings on 1 spin of Roulette on: March 15, 2024, 09:37:17 PM
If it's like a reality show, then we can think of almost every angle that we want to think about it.

Yeah, and it's like glorifying this gamblers, as they have been followed, then recorded and show to the world that maybe, just maybe if you bet your life saving, you can be this guy and win and double your money in a casino. But it's very wrong.

But never in my whole life that I am going to bet to something that will change my life forever negatively with my life savings. If it's the opposite then that I'd bet for it if the conditions are favorable to me and if they're going to give me that benefit.

Lucky for the guy that made it and I don't think that there's another story behind the reel but I'd lean on the story about it being a "reality" show.

We will not do that if we are in the right frame of mind. Yes, most of the time we take big risk, but I don't think that I can take the risk what this man this, his whole life savings. Nah, I will think of my family first before I can do that. And 100% the answer will be is that my family is more important I wouldn't go that far because once the result is not in my favor, not only me, but my wife, kids will also suffer and I don't want that to happen.
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 17th FEBRUARY 2024 on: March 15, 2024, 09:17:42 PM
As per the latest odds:

Fury: 1.62
Usyk - 2.21

Got curious when I read that Usyk is now the favorite in this fight and so I check Stake and this is the listing right now,

Fury, Tyson - 1.85
Usyk, Oleksandr - 1.89

Fury is still the favorite but Usyk is closing in and the odds is almost even now. So there is a big swing in the odds. Most likely after the AJ destroys Ngannou fight, and when bettors see how Ngannou had a close fight against Fury and then AJ just dominated Francis, maybe bettors saw that as a sign that Fury could might have a hard time or even lose against Usyk now.

What do you think could be the reasons of the bet swing in favor of Usyk here?
325  Economy / Economics / Re: Early exposure of children to wealth and investments on: March 14, 2024, 11:00:14 PM
The art of Parenting is one critical responsibility that plays a great role in shaping the kind of people we have in our society and sometimes in the guise to effectively train our children, factors like, at which age we expose them to our investment and resources become a difficult decision we have to make.

Some parents have denied there children access to a lot of privileges because to them, it will be a major distraction  and this could to a very large extent make the kids to feel unloved and might birth hate and hurts in their heart.

Perhaps they have their reasons why they want to deny their children access to wealth. And obviously, they want to teach them that you really need to work hard in your life in order to have money. Is that bad? well it depends and there are no set of rules. And just look how many spoiled brats that we have in our society today, right, it's because their parents shower them with their old rich money and as a result their children grow different. And it this case, it could backfired on them.

There had been cases when parent invest into project without letting their children know about it and then they suddenly die and it becomes a difficult situation trying to figure those project out and some extended relative might even deny the child access to it.

Is it right to tell your children all the investment you've made even when they're not yet matured enough? If no, At what age should they start knowing about those investment?

You still have your wife and maybe a lawyer to set up everything, your investments and what will be their inheritance if something bad happen to you. So not necessarily that they will know every investment you have or where you put your money.
326  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin all time high, is it ETF effects or pre halving cycle on: March 14, 2024, 10:38:53 PM
The current price of Bitcoin is certainly high, which could make it challenging to delay a bull run until after the halving.  Investor sentiment would need to stay very positive for a long time to accumulate enough capital to fuel a significant price increase.  There will likely be price drops along the way, and the bull run could end unexpectedly like the last one, potentially causing losses for even wealthy investors.

I think it is still possible to accumulate even in the bull run, obvious our profits is not that big if we have accumulate much earlier. But if the end goal is to make profits then I will advise everyone to still continue to DCA no matter what the price is. If there is a correction before the halving then good, if the price continue after the halving then still just stack sats.

ETF though, I read before that the effect is already price in, but where are we right now? New all time high again and again. So we have so many speculations about the ETF but I think we are now just feeling the effect and it could really be one factor why the price is soaring high, because institutional money is flowing in.
327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: March 14, 2024, 10:11:38 PM
But not as impressive against boxers who are trying to challenge themselves by aiming to become a pound-for-pound champion. At this stage, Haney and Lopez are considered better than Loma. It's just that Loma gained popularity first because he is an exciting boxer, but not much has happened in his career. He became a champion, but it seems he will stay within his limits, so we can't compare him to champions who are risk takers.

As for the latest pound for pound ranking, he is not anymore at the top 10.

https://www.espn.ph/boxing/story/_/id/39192661/boxing-pound-pound-rankings-naoya-inoue-dmitry-bivol-jesse-rodriguez-pick-votes

Not everybody has to have a career like Pacquiao or Mayweather to be considered an all time great. Lomachenko is more than just an exciting boxer, he has an impressive résumé to back up his legacy. Every single one of Lomachenko’s opponents from his debut has either been a highly rated contender or a world champion. The only other fighter I can think of who has followed a similar path is Naoya Inoue, but even Inoue fought somebody with a losing record in his second fight.

A pound for pound list doesn’t tell the entire story. ESPN and The Ring have Tank Davis in their top 10. The Ring also has Errol Spence on theirs. These are fighters who could only ever dream of having the career Loma has had, because there is a 0% chance they will even come close to Loma’s accomplishments.

And the latest rankings, they have removed Teo Lopez if I'm not mistaken, read it somewhere but I forget who's the boxer that they have inserted as number 10. Yes, I do agree that Loma can still be as impressive as anyone, and could be considered a legend, and in the future he could be enshire on the boxing hall of fame.
Loma is great but IMO he is near close to Mayweather and Pacman, he is great in his own way but he does not take a lot of fight and get tested.
As per https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/659771, he only fought 17 times, while Mayweather fought 50 (retired 50-0), and Pacman had 62 fights..

Before, great boxers keep fighting, but now they are just choosing when and whom to fight just to keep that undefeated reccord, sadly Loma was not able to, but he is better than other boxers with undefeated record.

But we need Loma to win here, and become a champion, he is the favorite so hopefully he won't pass his perfect opportunity again. Age could be a factor, but against Haney he shows that he can still go and fight and even give Haney a lot of problems. It's that his rally during that fight was too late and not enough to overcome the early points that Haney has accumulated.

Of course, and I'm sure this challenge is not tough compared to his upcoming fight if he wins here.

It's because Loma started late in his career, he was like 26 years old when he had his first fight. It was due to him staying in the amateurs for too long, however, he was a very decorated amateur boxer, winning golds at at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Games at featherweight and lightweight.

Fight for the belt against Oscar Salido in this second fight, but Salido was a dirty fighter and fouled Loma several times and experienced his first defeat as a pro-fighter. Been FOTY twice as well.

But then again, lost to Teo and then to Haney, would have been cemented his legacy even further if he had beaten this two young fighters. But he still has a chance against George Kambosos, might be a good gauge for us boxing fans if Loma still have it even at his age.
328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 14, 2024, 09:41:11 PM
I think a lot of boxing fans who are expecting to see prime Mike Tyson. I don’t think Mike Tyson has that fury in him anymore, I have watch his podcasts, he’s a very different man now. The only advantage he has in this match is his power punch, which I believe will knock out Jake Paul if he is hit. Even though I do not like Jake Paul and his approach to the sport, I do think he is a decent boxer. He’s young and quick on his feet, and will be able to avoid getting hit by Mike Tyson.

We all admired Tyson during his warrior days, back in those days he was wild and no one could stand in front of him, if Jake Paul fought a Tyson of the old days, he would be demolished like what he did against Spinks and, Jake Paul is so lucky that he is fighting an old Tyson.
Jake Paul is considered an opportunist for fighting Tyson when Tyson is 60 years and past his prime and Jake Paul is now in his prime, they are both going to make money here but I hope Tyson can still keep up with a younger, hungrier and opportunist Jake Paul, anyway, I looked at it, it's not fair.

Here are the latest trainer video of Mike Tyson and let me hear your thoughts or others too if he still has it even at close to 60 years old,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSer_XFMEFU

And in the video we also see Jake Paul doing the mitts, and we can see the big difference on how they throw. Obviously Mike's more on "refine" and we can hear his power when his punches hit the mitt. While Jake looks like street brawl style of throwing punches, LOL.

I think it also awaken the interest of all sports fans as we can hear their speculations on this fight.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 14, 2024, 09:15:00 PM
^ I think that comparison ends when both of this boxers lost to Navarette, although it was very different in a sense the Navarette dominated Oscar Valdez, but as pointed out by @inthelongrun, Liam's fight is very close, and if I'm not mistaken, he score a knockdown against Navarette and everyone is excited as we thought that he will defeat him. But Navarette comes back and win.

And if Navarette goes up in weight, his title will be vacant and this one rank second and forth will have that chance to get that belt. At least it will not be gifted to either one of them. So they really have to take each other heads off to get that belt in this fight.
330  Economy / Speculation / Re: Doing my bitcoin investment anonymously while left a friend behind. on: March 13, 2024, 11:24:34 PM
With my low mentality in this bitcoin industry, I feel only Investors who has got experiences in this bitcoin industry can uphold the pressures to buy more of bitcoin at this time and not beginners because they could be at some disappointed of not making enough interests as others does due to their time of investing. Although I'm not saying it's late for buying more of bitcoins but it's hard to encourage beginner to buy their first bitcoin at now considering they've not gotten confident knowledges about the bitcoin industry.

Just remember this, everyone here started with 0 knowledge in Bitcoin, we are all beginners at some point. But we are still here after numerous cycles, bear/bulls, lowest low/all time high. So don't think about that you have low mentality, just be positive and just invest what you can afford to lose.

And in no time, you will gain that needed experience to stay in the market, make sound decision with your investment, do DCA and be a long term holder. There is no secret formula here, everyone has shared their experiences. You just have to be mentality tough as Bitcoin investment has it's cycle. So just continue what you are doing, even at this price, you can still invest a little and then see how it grows next year or at least when we hit 6 digit as our top price for this bull cycle.
331  Economy / Economics / Re: China India tensions on impact to Global economy possible china India war on: March 13, 2024, 10:49:59 PM
China India war will have huge impact to Global economy but one thing is for sure markets will go up.

Isn't it that's what they said in every war though, it will have an impact to the global economy.

Also Since India own currency fall i guess blackrock is ready to start sell btc to India and to china.

As far as I know, their own currency has deflated years ago and yet they are still standing.

Both have huge population the china and india and If from starting the btc adoption and USDT USDC adoption to get btc then it can move the markets like grazy.
We could see the fed cutting rates but dollar will be still strong becouse of strong demand of USD specially USDT and USDC.
Everything comes together exacly timing.

So in your conclusion, there is a relation with this war to crypto? how come? And I don't think that it will go that far that this two countries are going to war each other. Doesn't make sense and the leaders of this two countries, are going to sit down and talk and not escalate everything. They know the cost of war and how it will affect them, so I will say that diplomacy will take place.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 13, 2024, 10:19:56 PM
I saw this fight,

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/109506-valdez-vs-wilson

Specially Oscar Valdez vs Liam Wilson, although Wilson is 3:1 underdog in this fight, but I think this is going to be a war. Both fighters are bangers and doesn't hold up anything. I think this is going to be a war. Both are on a comeback trail and they know that their careers are on the line and whoever losses this fight might have to take a break in my opinion. Valdez is coming from a lost to Emmanuel Navarette, both of them actually lost to the champion.

This is a comeback fight for Oscar Valdez and I do agree that this could be fight of the year candidate if they live up to the hype of this fight. This two are warriors in the ring and so with that I expect no less than a action pack fight, and it might not end in the judges scorecard.

Maybe there will be a stoppage, as both are known to bleed early. Cross-roads fight for both of them, and whoever wins will get closer to another title fight. Liam though could be a good underdog, the way I see Valdez at this point of his career, he has too many wars already and it could take toll on his body.
333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: March 13, 2024, 09:37:58 PM
Ryan Garcia’s podcast appearance with Bobbi Altoff on the Pretty Good Podcast was one of the most cringe things I’ve ever seen. He seems like he is a little off. I don’t know how his mental issues will translate into the ring, but I stick with the opinion that you would have to be crazy to bet on him given his current mental state.

He is a huge underdog already, so yeah, smart boxing bettors might think otherwise to put a bet on him. And seeing some of this training sessions, I don't see any big changes, unless Derrick James really make him a slick boxer, I don't think that Ryan can bet this version of Devin Haney.

But this is boxing, I mean just one punch can change the result of the fight and most likely team Ryan Garcia is banking on his left hook to finish Devin Haney. That is if he can hit Devin will power and caught him by surprise.
334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do the juice Worth the squeeze? on: March 13, 2024, 09:14:32 PM
Hi,

As everyone knows the goal of betting is to get the largest amount of money , knowing that the risks do not change whether you bet a large or small amount, and sometimes the amount you bet with is your capital, and this drains you of your time and money, and perhaps your work and daily tasks.

Do you think that the benefits in gambling Worth the invest of your money and your time with knowing that your chances are Just 50/50?

I mean what's the point though? if you don't want to take that risk then don't gamble even if the chances are not 50/50. That's how gambling is, who take that risk, the unknown and see if you are going to win or not. If you can't understand that or don't want to lose your money then simply get out of it and never comeback.

But as we have seen, it's human nature that makes us fall to gambling itself. And we are willing to take that risk, and it's not like investing your money, it's the uncertainty of returns and that's what define gambling per se.
335  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: March 12, 2024, 11:17:14 PM
We have seen Bitcoin reach 70k USD and it even reached a point of 71k briefly. We are seeing history being made right here with the new all time high being set once again and it is happening even before halving.

I have high expectations that bitcoin will reach 100k but will it reach 100k without any major decline in price? Does it seem realistic that from 70k, bitcoin will continuously rise up?
We have seen Bitcoin reach an all-time high of $73k. Bitcoin continues to make new highs, breaking the analysis of many in many ways. The way Bitcoin is starting to grow, it looks like Bitcoin will stay in the $80,000 range very soon. However, Bitcoin is expected to go higher from here without any major decline. If Bitcoin price goes to $100k before the bull season then I think Bitcoin price can go above $100k to $200k in a bull market. So hold on those who invested you will surely get more success.

It was a surprised in the beginning when we reaches new all time high before the halving. And then there was the speculation that after that, we might see a huge correction. Unfortunately, those who have predicted it could be wrong though as we continue to march into the $70,000 range and still going up to this time.

But we will have to wait and see, let's say we will cross the bridge when we get there. So $100,000 is the next conservative estimates this year. But we're still very far from it. Although halving is coming next month, we should not get excited, this bull run will at least take us to next year 2025 and that's where the fun begins, everyone holding their breathe and continue to accumulate to get profits for our all time high in 6 figure.
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Marketing Strategies for New Casinos? on: March 12, 2024, 10:38:45 PM
Go get someone to be a brand ambassador, like what Stake with getting Drake and then BK8 with the legendary Manny Pacquiao.

Obviously though if you're just starting, maybe it's going to be expensive to pay this personalities. But in the end, it could give you a return of investments. Drake has a lot of followers and famous, same with Manny. So they could bring a ton of gamblers into your website and obviously, gonna be win-win situation for you.

And as long as you been busy here or at least answering queries in your ANN thread, then it could be good promotions too in your end.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 12, 2024, 10:19:33 PM

I would be surprised if Mike beats Jake. He is 60.  Would you bet if its on Stake?

Well damn, I'd be surprised too but the man is 60 and Jake is what? 27 or 28? That's a crazy age difference. Jake is basically like fighting an old father. I hate to see Mike fighting at this age, even if it's just an exhibition which is not really a serious match compared to professional bouts. Mike may had crazy boxing skill sets, but nothing beats age though all of it will deteriorate.
Anyway, this is more about money though than being a sport. Purely an entertainment only. As per boxing fans, who wouldn't want to see Mike inside the ring again. Sports fans nowadays would love to see legends strapped in again after a long year of retirement and they are willing to pay a crazy amount to see it happen and so this kind of events happens. If anyone benefits this the most, that would surely be Jake Paul.
And to answer the question, NO I wouldn't bet in any exhibition matches. Simply because 1. It is not a serious fight and 2. They have their own set of rules which could be a little complicated sometimes.

1. Why do you think it is not a serious fight? People get punched in the face with full strength. Every clearly landed punch hurts.
2. What are you talking about? What is the difference or rules there will be in this fight? The fact that it is exhibition, they wont have 12 rounds and will have larger gloves does not change that fact that both it hurts to get punched in the face.

As to age that you have mentioned. Do you know that there are no former professional boxers? Even 60-70 grandpa who used to be a pro boxer can knockout most of amateur boxers. Search on youtube when young guys messed with retired old boxers and you would surprised that they still have skill and speed.

Has it been confirmed it's an exhibition though? I mean, I'm sure it will be but I'm not sure how exciting that would be for people as it might as well just be an open workout session if that's the case. Tyson's last exhibition against Roy Jones Jnr was pointless and it was basically a light sparring session and it looked like they were only doing body shots.

If this was an actual fight, who do you reckon would win. Opinion seems to be mixed from pundits. Half seem to think Jake would easily defeat Tyson given his youth, but the other half seem to think Tyson could and would still KO him. Mike still has power and they say power is the last to go from ageing fighters, but fitness wise I don't know how long Tyson's cardio would last and Mike could be gassed out within a round or so.

It's not that clear, there are reports saying that they will wear a head gear, and then reports saying that they're not. And then it will be a pro boxing rules, however, Tyson hasn't been professionally boxer for almost 20 years so I don't know if there will be a sanctioning body or a state like Las Vegas that will give Tyson the license to box.

So for now it's not yet clear, but I do hope that it will be no head gear and boxing rules. Jake Paul talks about wanting to be a pro boxer. So here is the chance for him to proved that he can take a old Mike Tyson.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 12, 2024, 09:43:19 PM
^^ I think you can expect that from Fury, I mean Ngannou give Fury one hell of a fight and others says that Francis did enough to win. And even in the press conference, Fury is there and trying to play mind games with Ngannou and I think we all heard what Francis said.

Yes, he can go back to PFL as this is what the contract is,

Quote
Ngannou inked an unprecedented contract with PFL this past week after making history by departing the UFC as its reigning heavyweight champion. The disclosed terms of the deal include concessions that give Ngannou equity in the company plus a role on the PFL board of directors, make him the chairman of PFL’s expansion into Africa, give him the freedom to box and pursue his own sponsors, as well as a provide guaranteed $2 million purses for each of Ngannou’s PFL opponents. Ngannou is expected to make his promotional debut for PFL in 2024 after pursuing his pro boxing debut in the second half of 2023.

How about Manny Pacquiao vs Conor Benn?

Quote
Pacquiao had a face-off with Conor Benn in Saudi Arabia Thursday following the Anthony Joshua-Francis Ngannou weigh-in, and he told Lance Pugmire of Boxing Scene that he's hoping to leave Saudi Arabia with a signed contract to fight the England native.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10112098-manny-pacquiao-ready-to-go-for-fight-vs-conor-benn-amid-contract-talks

I thought that Manny has a fight with Buakaw?

Maybe after this Benn will be next for him? In any case we will see, Manny is still one of the most recognizable fighter in the world, a boxing icon and that could be the reason why everyone is still calling him.

I've seen this post,

https://twitter.com/ChrisEubankJr/status/1766099150691823693

Any thoughts on this? This is not official yet, and I have to verify if this is Chris Eubank official account or some poser. But intriguing match, Crawford going as high as 160 lbs in this fight materialized. His name has been in the discussions for a Canelo fight at super Middleweight. Maybe this is just a test run for Crawford.

However, both of them have the same trainer in Brian “Bomac” McIntyre. Who won the trainer of the year in 2023, obviously with Crawford winning against his rival Errol Spence Jr and then also helping Eubank Jr avenge his defeat at the hands of Liam Smith.

As far as I know, that was from the official account of Eubank Junior.
I don't know why everyone everywhere is saying that this is absolutely official! But I am honestly still a little doubtful about this one.
Because everything we can see so far is only the image and the X post.

Actually, if this was fake, they should have been already deleted by now. And I am also pretty sure that it is not a fake ID or something.
However, if this somehow happens it will surely make a huge hype no doubt.

I did not say it's official, that's why I'm asking boxing fans here and I'm also surprised to see it as I have said, both are under Bomac. And so with this whole social media era that we have, it's really important to really read between the lines and not treat everything we read as official, just saying. It's better to conformed with other first.

Anyhow, I also thought that there will be a rematch between Crawford and Spence, and I think this is what the fans have been waiting for.

Hopefully, this can happen this year.
