3261  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.4BTC/month just by posting! on: December 17, 2013, 03:59:59 AM
PM'd you stunna.. I reached the maxiumum quota for the month. there's no way in hell i will ever reach 1,200 posts in 1 month again. that was fucking painful  Cheesy

i'm starting this month with 1,521 posts.. the signature is still here.
3262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will I be able to use Bitcoins at the mall in 2014??? on: December 17, 2013, 03:52:24 AM
it would be nice for this to happen, but most likely there will be some form of government resistance. i hope the moment that big brother decides it wants to slam the hammer down, it'll be too late to stop the momement; only slow it down.
3263  Other / Off-topic / Re: What a shitty day for BTC... I'm going to bed on: December 17, 2013, 03:50:31 AM
When I wake up tomorrow morning, the price BETTER be at least $2000/BTC and $150/LTC or someone in this forum is getting their ass kicked. I'm not even kidding.  Everyone buy so prices go up. I'm still waiting for teh moon, so fucking tired of the earth.

stretch your investment longer than a period of a year or two and you'll be a winner

If I was a bear, I would buy a bitcoin and hibernate for 6 months hoping to wake up rich. But too bad i'm an impatient human

instead, you're just a regular get-rich-quick schemer, and a get-poor-quick by buying lots of cool shit.
3264  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US taxes are owed whenever trading crypto on: December 17, 2013, 03:48:25 AM
The IRS doesnt give 2 shits about your bitcoins....as long as you are paying them what they want....they leave you be....when you cause waves and try to cheat....thats when the fun begins....

that or when government decides it wants to control whether we can or can't use bitcoins.. the IRS will come after you.
3265  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin and Islam on: December 17, 2013, 01:45:17 AM
if islam were to adopt bitcoin, wouldn't it possibly be bad news? the american special interest groups that are against BTC would use muslim/arab xenophobia to gain support from people to ban bitcoins, if they wanted to. i can already see the headlines on fox news.. "bitcoin aiding terrorism?"

i know we're all going to say that fiat is used to fund terrorism more than anything, but that doesn't matter.. crazy people will always think that bitcoin is drug money.

Terrorism and Islam isn't the same thing.

your comment was pre-empted. read the second paragraph.

If they are lagging behind rest of the world, then no one would consider them a treat. Also technological level over there is lacking. If anyone could pull it off, I would believe - China or Korea or maaaaaybe Japan. Something exotic and advanced. Without many problems that other countries have.

doesn't matter whether terrorism is considered a threat, the state uses it as an excuse to do whatever the fuck it wants.

are you sure it's stupidity? you could just make this shit up and sell your story to some media outlet. so many ways a playa can play the game.

Something tells me this guy isn't a master of chicanery.

But then again:

Quote
Mr Clatworthy previously made headlines in 2007 when, aged 12, he used his judo skills to catch a drink-driver who had crashed into three cars in Ilkeston Road, Radford
.

Maybe he's a master at courting the press for his own gain.

Another conspiracy? Great! We surely did not have enough of those on btctalk!
But I tend to agree. I had tons of quasi-important stuff to share with the media in my life, but they ignored me.
But stories like that go viral.
Do you simply call some newspaper and say "I'm a dumb fuck, exploit my life story" and they say "okay, we sure have nothing else to do" ?

EDIT: in that pic he reminds me of Jean Reno from Leon/Professional

it's kind of funny how ad revenues work really. all you need to do is create content that entertains people. that's what news has become; a vehicle for entertainment and not education.

someone like george zimmerman probably doesn't need to work a day for the rest of his life, just by the mere fact that he killed someone and became famous for it. he can write a book about his experience, charge guest speaking fees, or demand $ for an exclusive interview.

we are living in an age where celebrity is the most prized achievement for the common person, because you don't have to do jack shit and you'd make millions. i think it's gotten so bad that some people want to be famous just for the sake of being famous, and while money is important to them, the fact that you're famous is a prize in itself.

the title for this altcrypto is kinda strange... ADT is already an alarm/security company.

btw PG, will you be working at any local malls for x-mas?

Legally, I can't, due to being charged, but not convicted of fondling an underage goat.

that's such bullshit. it wasn't your fault that those ungrateful kids didn't leave you milk and cookies when you dropped off their presents. in order for a man to get his cheese, he's gotta get his milk from somewhere.
3270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Korea now talking positively about bitcoin on: December 17, 2013, 12:56:04 AM
this wouldn't be that surprising.. i think koreans even teach their young students on how to use the internet. they love technology and the interwebs.

Wow that was refreshing!

A solid report from a new Bitcoin market. It manages to cover a lot of ground, highlighting some of the pros and cons in a very professional way.

Well done!

Edit: I really overlooked Korea. I didn't realise that they have the 15th biggest economy in the world. (1 trillion USD+ GDP) and their income per capita is 5x that of China & nearly 8x that of India! I wouldn't be surprised if this market has a very big impact on BTC

From Korbit (New Korean BTC exchange.)

Quote
“Korea cannot take a back seat and ignore the changes that are sweeping the globe. The government must work together closely with the private sector to not fall behind in keeping up with the global innovative trend, and provide a platform for constructive discussion for such paradigm-changing issues.”

Wow I was also thinking the same about Korea. Didn't know they're that important.
We have new player Cheesy

i think korea can be a pretty big player in the market. even though there are only 50 million south koreans, the % of their population that would adopt BTC would be much higher than a typical country. i think the ratio is probably even higher than in the U.S. just throwing arbitrary numbers out, but it could be something like double of a normal population.. which would make it similar to a country of $100,000.
3271  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: localbitcoins 0.0002 BTC withdrawal fees >.< on: December 17, 2013, 12:45:52 AM
i just transferred out some coin today and it cost me .004. adjusted for the $700 current value of bitcoin, that comes out to 28 cents to make the transfer. while it may not be THAT much, doesn't that seem a bit much?

how could have the fees doubled since the OP in october, when the value of BTC was probably around $130?
3272  Other / Off-topic / Re: The totally epic "I need to take a shit!" thread. on: December 16, 2013, 11:46:49 PM
does anyone else feel this way when wiping? no matter how hard you try, sometimes the results are just plain shitty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGCIGEUB32M

Is that you Phinnaeus Gage? If so, you're awesome. You're the santa claus of bitcoin!

that or he's dale from The Walking Dead.

btw PG, will you be working at any local malls for x-mas?  Cheesy
3274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is there an alt cryptocurrency that deals best with.. on: December 16, 2013, 11:34:39 PM
hyperinflation? i know by nature that most cryptocurrencies (that have a hard limit) on the amount of units created can be considered a hedge for hyperinflation.. but is there one with inherent qualities that make it the best to deal with hyperinflation?
3275  Other / Off-topic / Re: My next door neighbour continually smokes weed every 2-3 hours in his garden... on: December 16, 2013, 09:45:12 PM
call the police!!!

I think the problem with this idea is that OP has a conscience otherwise he would have surely done this already.

Calling the fuzz is a last resort and is unnecessary unless he doesn’t heed my polite request.

is that what brits call the police? is that what hot fuzz was supposed to mean?
3276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if you want btc to succeed start dumping your iDevices/Apple on: December 16, 2013, 09:28:05 PM
Unfortunately windows mobile is miles behind ios and android. So even if the hardware is decent the os pretty much ruins it...

What does it fall behind on? What are the advantages of an android OS?

1) The ability to install applications without having first to get the permission of some company
2) It is Free Libre Open Source Software

i borrowed a windows mobile phone from a friend (i think it was the nokia 920 or something) and my god.. the o/s is so horrible. microsoft has no idea as to what a customer wants. it's like a 15 year old virgin having sex for the first time. i used it for 20 minutes and said to myself "who the fuck would want to use this?"

He got a Xbox one for being a total dumb? I don't want to live on this planet anymore

Yes, it's annoying his stupidity has been rewarded with a free xbox.

for nighttime white noise machines are great Smiley not so useful for smell tho..

What do white noise machines do exactly?

they obviously make white noise, mate.
3279  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: We're developing a card for you to spend BTC like cash, would you use it? on: December 16, 2013, 08:48:08 PM
a keychain would be cool.. i met a member on this forum who knows someone planning to make one of those.

We'd use it but there isn't any way it is going to happen. Bitinstant announced one a long time ago but the regulations make it impossible.

I suggest you give up.

seems like there is still a lot of hesitation of adopting BTC as a form of payment by a lot of companies. even with the senate hearings, it's still an undfined issue.
3280  Other / Off-topic / Re: Paypal supporting bitcoin? on: December 16, 2013, 09:47:48 AM
if my income depended on ebay/paypal, i guess i'd have no choice.. but i would avoid them at all costs otherwise.

as much as i hate Paypal and Ebay this would make my life a lot easier, still a part of me cries NO!! Cry

They will eventually as long as Bitcoin keeps growing. You only have to look at the demand and prices coins on ebay go for to realise there's massive amounts of money to be made from this.

btw, you have 70ish more posts to go.. gogogo hustle!
