pakistan seems the scariest to me.. they are batshit crazy. if they feel like they have nothing left to lose, they might just let it go.

yeah whalberg isn't great but he's not THAT bad. another actor, who seems to play himself or a variation of it, is leonardo dicaprio.. i don't dislike him, i'm just not a huge fan of his.
2523  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time Does Not Exist on: May 01, 2014, 08:44:34 PM
time is still the same if you are looking at your watch right now, and the person on another planet looking at it now. it's the motion that causes the dilation of time.

it's their choice to naively donate to people they shouldn't be though. it kind of bugs me too, but they are just doing what they want to.. you can't stop that.
In this situation it's not her choice. She is being manipulated.

it's her choice to be manipulated. no one's holding a gun to her head.

If you were slipping into Dementia, would you want somebody to trust you?

Dementia:

It's pretty easy to manipulate a good percentage of the people who have it.

we don't know that she has dementia. that's apples to oranges.
Are you serious? OP said so in the first post.

oh, you're right.. i skimmed through the first post before making thatp ost and didn't see mention of dementia.

2528  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which Historical figure do you most admire and why? on: May 01, 2014, 07:47:30 PM
i just read einstein's biography. he's my favorite; not only because of his non-conformist attitude that helped him make great discoveries, but also because he was an interesting individual who actually cared about human society. he was a bit naive to push for a world government, as that wouldn't solve anything, but he admitted that it was a long shot.

I think the biggest historical figure I wish I would have met had to be Steve jobs. The dude was a genius and I loved the way he thought . Plus he smoked herb n took acid

while i think he is interesting, i don't like him much. i read his biography and he came off as a self-interested prick. i also don't like the way he ran apple.

yeah what i found gay was the LGBT people making a big issue about jared leto's character being.. jaerd leto instead of a drag queen/tranny.

What are you talking about?

LGBT complained that jared leto, who is not a drag queen/transvestite, portrayed a transvestite character.

Who is LGBT exactly? Isn't that just the acronym of the community and not an actual organisation? I think a handful of people don't represent the entire community, but you'll always get some people complaining that so-and-so can't play whoever for whatever reasons.

just a general term for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. of course not all of them are complaining, but a fair portion of them are. it's stupid to me. they chose a real actor to play a transgendered woman, not some unproven one just to make the LGBT community feel better.

I'm sure a fairer portion of the LGBT doesn't care or was actually impressed with his performance as I was. A handful of people complaining in the media doesn't make a fair share.

people were tweeting about it. maybe it's not even half of the community, but there were quite a few who were unhappy with the casting choice.

minorities do want affirmative action though.. i don't know where i stand on that issue, but you could argue that they want special treatment.

he was part of the reason why it was great, but it was equally the script that made the movie so good.

i dont know how capital gains taxes go in europe, but they probably aren't less than america. if u were in america, that'd be 40% capital gains taxes if you sell that quick. it may not be the best idea.
