2281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Richest dude in Asia, going hard on Bitcoin on: May 14, 2014, 10:30:20 PM
The us government could definately cripple the bitcoin price if they were to flood the market with all the siezed coins they have

been mentioned before, and i think they could auction off the coins and it wouldn't affect the price that much.
2282  Other / Meta / Re: Paid Signatures Increases Likelihood of Getting Banned on: May 14, 2014, 10:23:25 PM
i wasn't even warned and still don't know why i was banned. i wasn't making entirely terse posts, and i usually try to fit in a sentence here. i actually type more shit on this forum than i would elsewhere.

either way though, a warning or a better explanation would have been good.
2283  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Song are you Listening To? on: May 14, 2014, 10:12:32 PM
i'm enjoying that new black keys song - fever. i like the last half of it quite a bit.
2284  Other / Off-topic / Re: Snowden poll on: May 14, 2014, 10:08:11 PM
Well, many Americans don't really care about all of this. Which is pretty sad. How can they be this ignorant?
If I was in his place, I would have done it too. After all, spying upon half the world, is a thing much greater than me.

i think it's by design. defund education, control the major media outlets.. and control the people. last week's episode of vice was a good example. there are people in texas who rely on water/rain for sustenance, and there hvae been droughts the past few years. they still deny that the drought could be caused by climate change.

2286  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: May 14, 2014, 09:26:32 PM
I watch vikings, or shark tank.

Have you ever watched Dragons Den?  It's the Canadian version, so to speak, that came out before Shark Tank.  Same premise to the show, but on Dragons Den. They can't accept a lower offer than what the value their company at.  Basically, if the over value their company they get roasted and can't get a deal.

I do find myself watching Shark Tank more these days though since O'Leary and Robert have left Dragons Den.

Is there any way to watch Dragon's Den online? I watch Shark Tank and absolutely love it. I'd like to check out the Canadian one as well, :p.

ThePirateBay is your friend Smiley

Meh, I've had some bad luck (even with TV shows). My ISP likes to send out letters in response so I had to stop all of that, :p. The sad part is I was only downloading the shows I can't see locally, =/. So it's not even like there was a choice.

You can use a VPN to download from BitTorrent sites, or a seedbox. Your ISP seems to be a dictator Smiley

The best part is that we have a bandwidth cap of 250gb/month. If you go over that 3 months, you are removed from the service. There's not even a way to pay for extra bandwidth or anything; that 250gb cap is literally the cap.

To make matters worse, they gave a free boost to 60MB/s as well. That 250gb would take far less than a day to plow through if someone really wanted to.

it's okay, we in america will soon join you with something similar to bandwidth cap. our ISPs are getting more and more powerful by the day, while us end users are getting less.
2287  Other / Off-topic / Re: Favourite Game of Thrones character? on: May 14, 2014, 09:24:43 PM
i like tyrion, but i think my favorite has to be jaime. jaime is viewed as a villain early on in the story, but then you see the more human side of him since last season. he probably wasn't originally a dick, but he was labelled an outcast "kingslayer" so he just said fuck it and ran with it. when he meets brienne, he feels that kinship because she is seen as a freak by GoT society too.
2288  Other / Off-topic / Re: A 3 year old just asked me for the wifi password on: May 14, 2014, 09:22:14 PM
i remember being much more oblivious as a kid. my little cousin was listening to lady gaga on youtube at 8, which made me think WTF.

btw, i think as technology grows, things come easier to people.. and they lose that sense of admiration and respect for what technology really is.
2289  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is China silently conquering Africa? on: May 07, 2014, 08:40:05 PM
The Chinese way is to conquer economically instead of with armies that said Africa needs some economic growth since they have a lot of issues there so improving their standard of living through economics is one way to do that.

even if china wanted to militarily conquer countries, i don't think the U.S. would let it go that easily - we are #1 after all. it's kind of like when vietnam invaded cambodia, and china didn't want any of that... so they laid the hammer down.

Well, you certainly cannot read.

The Chinese way is to conquer economically instead of with armies.

And even if China does, what the heck has the US got to do with it? Stop trying to be the world police, seriously. They can only send out troops through the UN.

maybe it would be easier to comprehend/read if you knew how to use some punctuation. also, that's just an ad hominem rebuttal.

2291  Other / Off-topic / Re: Favourite cartoon show on: May 07, 2014, 08:33:54 PM
with the exception of naruto, i don't watch animated/cartoon shows anymore. for whatever reason, i can't watch family guy anymore.. i loved it during its first run, but not anymore.

politics is about fundraising.. it's about who can stroke billionaire cocks. ie: rupert murdoch, koch brothers, soros, shelden adelson.

2295  Other / Politics & Society / Re: our USA education system sucks and is obsolete on: May 07, 2014, 07:15:20 PM
a bigger problem is how the US (and the rest of the world) overvalue standardized testing. seems they promote memorization more than they do learning. education should be not just learning, but learning through interest.
2296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bad news for China bank uninterrupted. on: May 07, 2014, 07:13:24 PM
i'm just hoping we reach a point where whatever china says becomes insignificant and has no bearing on the price on bitcoin. china would be nice and would provide a nice boon, but bitcoin doesn't need it.
2297  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: May 07, 2014, 06:59:04 PM
dang, did not notice these new changes.. they don't benefit me as much, but oh well. what's the required activity level to reach senior member?
Require activity is 240 for Sr Member and for more information you can check this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0

thanks, that's quite helpful.. so double up every time. it will take me 18 months to 2 years to reach hero status... and shit, i'm only halfway to senior member.

even at the current rates, the numbers look a lot better now that bitcoin has gone done in price.. i could potentially earn .4 or .5 btc this month.. sweet!

i'm up for a contract renewal, but i don't even care to upgrade. i will probably do it and just sell the damn phone.
2299  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Woman Celebrates Her “Cool” Abortion on YouTube on: May 07, 2014, 06:56:07 PM
with all this social media around, everybody wants to be famous. they jump at every chance to record themselves in hopes of becoming famous.. because that's all that they aspire to. it's getting ridiculous.

lol, v stivianiano is being invested for extortion. it makes sense  Cheesy http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/07/v-stiviano-extortion_n_5278226.html

what a fucking gold digging bitch  Cheesy

mark jackson was due to be fired anyways. he's also got a sordid history of being anti-gay i believe.. and an adulterer, in spite of being a minister in LA. he seemed like a terrible coach who was only able to give good pep talks.

Wouldn't surprise me if she hadn't tried blackmailing him in some way, but maybe this is just Sterling's attack on her trying to get his own back.

i thought about that, and it's quite plausible. but in my opinion, it's even more plausible that she is using her "assets" to extort money from stern. she's already made bold faced lies in that interview with barbara walters.
