3341  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How can i get bitcoin gold on electrum [step by step] on: October 27, 2017, 10:38:52 AM
guys, supposed  that i have 1 bitcoin in wallet A before fork, and after fork i move 1 bitcoin out of wallet A. now wallet A is emply, so can I claim 1 bitcoin gold from wallet A?

You can't claim bitcoin gold at the moment as it hasn't launched yet but Once it goes live probably on November 1st, Yes you can claim your BTG's from wallet A by importing it to a designated bitcoin gold wallet. They are giving updates on their site as well as other necessary information here https://bitcoingold.org/blog/
3342  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How to Claim BTG from Blockchain.info ? on: October 27, 2017, 09:15:58 AM
As for this time, there is still no updates if there is a network available for the bitcoin gold like mentioned above. And if the developers of BTG have updates for the wallets, etc and there's a go button, then you can export the private keys of your blockchain wallet using the 12-word seed. And you can follow this tutorial so you can get the private keys and export it to the compatible wallet for BTG.
Make sure that you sweep the funds of your blockchain wallet to another wallet that you hold the private keys before you export your private key on BTG's compatible wallet.

If you're talking about the wallets, they already have a few listed although most of them are for android and you can also run its full node. Updates are also listed on their site here http://bitcoingold.org. They're doing great so far so the coin should be launched by Nov 1st.

The fork just got over, so is there any way to claim Bitcoin-Gold from the split ?
I am using blockchain.info wallet and they did let me to claim BCC from the last fork from their wallet itself.

There's no way to claim BTG at this time because there is no live BTG network. The only thing that happened was the UTXO snapshot that will become the UTXO set if/when the coin is actually launched. As it stands, the developers haven't been able to properly add replay protection, and everyone is waiting around. Once the network is launched, assuming there is replay protection, you can move your BTC to a new address and then import the original BTC address(es) into a BTG wallet.

It's really odd that so many exchanges launched trading for a coin that doesn't even exist yet. What happens if the Bitcoin Gold developers never even launch it? It seems legally precarious to allow people to buy imaginary coins.

Yah, I got confused for a second as why would they be trading it already. I just realized that they are just IOU's probably so withdrawals can't be made until the official release.
I think exchanges are doing this for profits again, letting people ride the hype train again even though theres nothing really. The devs are on finishing phase so i doubt they'll back out particularly when the snapshot has been secured. I mean we all know they're gonna dump their private premines lool.
3343  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet not connecting on: October 27, 2017, 03:20:44 AM
Maybe there is a firewall preventing your electrum to be sync  better to try disable your firewall or antivirus and check if your electrum turn to be online.. I was experience this because i turn my antivirus into high secured and didn't know that also the electrum was affected ..
If this is still not working maybe the problem is the server try to choose other server in tools>network> and try other server..

My antivirus has also blocked it as well.
I just want to know, If its a secure software than why antivirus blocking it to connect online ?

I just want you to know that antiviruses are not always 100% accurate thats why false positive's are very common as I'm sure this is what happened to you. I've been using electrum for a very long time as well as the people here and we can vouch for electrum that i'll not harm your desktop or your coins unless you've downloaded from the wrong website.
This is their official site https://electrum.org/#download. They are signed with PGP signature so you can always verify it.
3344  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Supermarket Accept Bitcoin on: October 26, 2017, 08:48:57 PM
I dont think a big industry or a size of super market is accepted crypto in mass adoption yet. I hope we will see something like this soon and will be using it for real purposes.

The only supermarket I know that's leading is Walt Mart but I don't have any news if they are going to adopt and accept bitcoin. It's going to happen and we'll see it that many supermarkets are going to accept bitcoin. Today they might not consider it as the population of bitcoin is still not that considerable for their business but once we've exploded up to 20%-50% of total world's population for sure there will be a consideration for those big leading supermarket or retailing companies.

Still since people will be paying in a physical shop more problems will probably rise e.g. fees and confirmation time, sufficient knowledge on staffs as bitcoin should be at least equally convenient as traditional payment systems so an increase of users may not be enough furthermore most governements are not in good terms with bitcoin but we'll see on the coming years as there will be changes although lets just hope it'll be good.

i have been hearing that big supermarket in my country accept bitcoin as the payment and i was thought that's true but very unfortunate through their official statement said this is not true and they even never considering bitcoin as their next payment method and currently only online shop available accepting bitcoin as the payment but besides that i didn't see any physical stores

Well there are many things to consider if a physical shop will accept it and honestly in a merchants point of view i don't think its a good idea to accept bitcoin at the moment although when it comes to online shops there'll only be minimal problems.
3345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin stuck since 17 oktober :( on: October 26, 2017, 07:29:35 PM
Well im using Blockchain so I have very limited options I saw Sad

If you can, better switch to much more stable wallet like electrum as you have more options when problems arises. Anyways, I quequed your transaction on Antpool and confirmtx although i never accelerated a transaction with no fee. If it doesn't confirm within 12 hours then you'll just have to wait for the network to drop your transaction and thus the coins will be returned to you.

EDIT: Its now included on block 491922.
3346  Other / Archival / Re: TRUSTED EXCHANGES on: October 26, 2017, 05:41:01 PM
May I have a list of website of altcoin exchanges your are using or your most trusted exchanges? So far, I already had my business with Bittrex and Bithumb. They have awesome security before I log in my account.

Don't look for trusted exchanges as most of them are working just for the profit, to get customers and to build their reputation. All of them have flaws and bad things about their service but don't look at it because they also have the advantages for using them. There is only one reminder that I want you to remember, just don't use yobit they are the most pissing exchange of all. They has one of the most poor support when it comes to answering and helping their customers complains.

Personally, I think this trusted exchange doesn't really exist at the moment, as you maybe satisfied on a particular exchange today but who knows if you will still be on the coming days. Just look at some popular exchanges today, they have great reviews in the past but its not the case now. In short don't trust any exchanges and always set precautionary measures. Op should just look for legit ones.

Exchanges are naturally looking for profits as they are a business after all, it'll be weird if they're not. Its just that some of them doesn't value their customers.
3347  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Not Verified on: October 26, 2017, 12:22:57 PM
Update your wallet to the latest version which is Electrum-2.9.3 https://electrum.org/#download. If its still doesn't sync change your server on Tools --> Network --> untick the select server automatically box and select a server. Once it syncs it should work fine.

Update us here if the problem persists

3348  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaign and foreign language on: October 26, 2017, 10:23:16 AM
If you want to earn money with signature campaigns is better for you to speak english. In many campaigns posts in local threads on local languages are not paid or maybe paid half of the value. To my opinion this is something to discuss because this way it turnes out that the other languages are discriminated but still this is predominately english forum so rules have to be respected. On the other hand there are many quality and interested threads in other languages and many users alsomlike to follow their own sections.

It also depends on the campaign manager, some of them are very strict on this "constructive post" and we all know they are not people who can understand tons of languages as a result if a user posted in a particular thread on a local board, they can't properly determine if its constructive as they'll probably base it to how many characters does it have instead on its content.

And yes I also feel the same way there are many interesting topics to be discussed specifically in our local boards like our local exchanges, your governments stance of cryptocurrency etc. although we can't deny that there is an increasing number of spams on them. Anyways, There are campaigns which accepts local boards but most of them do not. Maybe they can just limit the number of post each user will have on local board? or have the users speak english on it?
3349  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Did someone make money with Steem (https://steemit.com/)? on: October 26, 2017, 07:31:16 AM
sorry this website looks not professional to sell somthing it even dont look like a shop?
greez

In the first place it is not a buying and selling platform but a social media site where you can earning money by posting and upvoting. They have their own currency which obviously you can convert.

It is the best way to earn a good amount of money for bloggers. People who have the ability to read and write good articles daily can earn more than a 9-5 job on steemit. For others who don't write good articles and yet want to earn money can give it a try but the success is not guaranteed.
It all depends on the potential upvotes and the content. If we have good content in our articles they will surely reach to the audience and if we have good number of upvotes we can earn good amount regardless of the content of the posts.

Not the best way for me as there are some flaws on steemit, You see there are a lot of low quality posts which do get tons of upvotes and the other hand quality posts get cents. What you need on this site is not the ability to make a good quality articles but the ability so form social bonds on users as well as to exert most of your time. If you look into it, same people are upvoting each others articles furthermore there are a tons of spammy comments. Its better for bloggers to set up their own blog/site, do some SEO's and gradually attract traffics.
3350  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Fees and Transactions on: October 25, 2017, 05:40:35 PM
Does Fees for transactions depend upon wallets we use? Are transferring funds from one wallet to another cheaper in one wallet than another?

Yes, since every wallet has different developers and different ideas. Most wallet that has the same host like coinbase has no fees when sending from coinbase user to coinbase. But there are some wallet which has suggest with a specific which is not totally recommended. And there are some walle that you can input manualy for the fee.

Thanks everyone.
So now as everyone suggested, wallets differ in their fees.
Which desktop wallet is the cheapest according to you? Most of you only talked about exchanges, but what about desktop wallets?

I think you got the wrong idea. The thing is miner fee is the most important factor that determines how fast will a transaction confirms as miners prioritize transactions based on their included fees and certainly not on what wallet the transaction comes. So if you want the cheapest fee, you can have a wallet where you can edit miner fees manually and set it to 0. That is the cheapest although the odds are your transaction/s will get stucked for a few days and might never confirmed.

To answer why some wallet offer cheap fees but don't get their transaction stucked. Most wallets that does this are those who don't give your private keys as you are not actually the one who sends your coins but them. A good example is what TryNinja stated:

Every onchain transaction will require you to pay the same amount in fees. What will change between two different wallet softwares is the way how they calculate the "recommended fee".

Coinbase to Coinbase transactions are totally different since you are not doing any Bitcoin transaction, but only changing numbers inside Coinbase database. Every Bitcoin you deposit at Coinbase will give you a IOU that is worth what you deposited, and this is what you give to someone when you send them a transaction inside the Coinbase system. When you withdraw, they will remove those IOU from your account and send you real Bitcoins.

Understood. Thank you
Now last question regarding this: Coinbase is an exchange right?
So can I use coinbase to accept small payments like earnings from signature campaigns? Or should I use a desktop wallet for that?

Yes its an exchange although they also have their wallet services but I won't recommend coinbase to anyone as you will not be creating a wallet but an account because they don't give you your private keys so you're not in fully control of your funds. They can freeze it because of their TOS and most problem/s lies on them so if you have one you have to wait for their slow support.

Earnings from signature campaigns doesn't sound small to me assuming that you're being paid weekly as well as bitcoins price is rising. Yes better use a desktop wallet like electrum. Its a lightweight wallet so you don't need to download the whole blockchain and you're in control of your funds. Theres also a android wallet like mycelium. If you want to save on fees there are many transaction accelerators like viabtc, confirmtx, and on antpool . We also have some here on services board
3351  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Recover blockchain.info wallet password - 0.5 BTC bounty on: October 25, 2017, 01:54:35 PM
If you use code from your imagination (Brain memory) Relax and try to remember the day and the surrounding environment (And the moment)  that you chose the code  or Try several times The codes you use in e-mail and other sites

If the code is in a sheet then you lost it ,  You must contact support blockchain Ask them to change or restore the code of your wallet

What code are you talking about? Is it the password or the recovery phrase? because you can't just ask blockchain.info to change or restore any of them as to the best of my knowledge, they claim that they don't have an access on your wallet so asking is futile[See the quote below]. Blockchain.info cannot help even if you ask them. The only way for op to access his wallet is to have his recovery phrase or to crack the password.

Unfortunately, we're unable to help you re-gain access to your wallet if you've lost or forgotten your password. This is because we don't have access to your wallet or your wallet password.
3352  Other / Archival / Re: ,,KYC" selfies for sale on: October 25, 2017, 12:36:59 PM
If someone is committing a crime, or selling drugs, using your KYC documents and selfie, you are screwed up, because all the evidences are against you, and the police will come to you later, not to the person who purchased your kyc documents.
Somehow I don't believe he'll sell his own selfies, but someone else's. And that's the risk of sending digital copies of documents: whoever gets their hands on them, can use them too.
For that reason I always write something on it before sending them, like: "LoyceV October 25, 2017, to be used by Bitcointalk.org only". This way nobody can use the same picture 2 years later on a different website.

It's also possible that its fake e.g. edited as the customers can't confirm if the documents are valid or not unless they have some kind of authority. If there are frauds even on legal transactions, what more if its on illegal ones? Thats a nice idea although some companies doesn't require it thats why I'd always made sure that my documents are safe with them and in case something like security breach happens, they will be subjected to the laws. Don't just give your personal documents just because they asked

3353  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is coinbase a safe wallet on: October 25, 2017, 07:48:09 AM
As per the question is coinbase a safer wallet than blockchain

Way way back I started bitcoin using Coinbase wallet, then now Im using them for the ETH & Litcoin wallet too, PLUS coinbase' mobile app is a great help and I haven't experience any bad issue or problems using coinbase, very secured too!. Smiley

Quite opposite on what I experienced on their android app as its buggy to the point that it doesn't even let me copy my bitcoin address and yes it also freezes sometimes.
I wouldn't call it "secured" as it doesn't even give you your private key so technically you're not in fully control of your funds and is subjected on their policies where changes will be made in the future regardless of your opinion. There's also a bonus of slow support.
3354  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: imprted private key in blockchain wallet , showing watch only on: October 24, 2017, 10:22:20 AM
On Which wallet does it came from? You must have made wrong or missed step/s when exporting it. The only way to spend a watch only address is to provide a private key as you must have entered a public key thats why it shows "watch only"

PS: This thread should be moved on Web Wallets Sub-board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=222.0
3355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: POLONIEX account was at the profile page, cant see the balance and trade!!! on: October 24, 2017, 06:06:11 AM
when access the POLONIEX  account,it was at the profile page, cant see the balance and cant trade. I e-mail and twitter  their support for many times. but nobody answer it .

If there someone encounter the situation and how to solve it??/

and  would someone kindly help me???

That's weird. I have encountered that since the day i use that exchange. Maybe something is wrong with your browser. Are you using mobile platform. Make sure it's on default settings. If still not fix the problem. Then i suggest you to use other web browsers. Google Chrome is what im using right now. So far, so good. Poloniex support is not that bad compare to other exchange platform support like coinbase and yobit that not responding at all. Just wait for their response. But it will take days to receive their response. You have to figure it out yourself for now. But i really think the problem is on your browser. Just try different browser.

I use the Google Chrome all the time . I really dont know the reason  why POLONIEX frozen my account.

How did you know that your account is frozen? There should be a label there that says its frozen followed by a contact support link. If theres nothing like that its highly possible that the problem lies in your side? Try clearing the temporary cache and cookies on your browser.

Heres a tip when sending support ticket/s, The contents should be concise and easy to understand so keep it short as much as possible. Lastly add some proof/s like screenshots.
3356  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: haven't received bitcoin from coinbase to electrum on: October 24, 2017, 04:00:33 AM
I'm worried I really fucked up.

Have electrum, have used it a couple times before. Wanted to buy some BTC from coinbase to toss into electrum. $450 worth.

Go to receive tab and copy the address there, put it into coinbase, send. Hours later, transaction is confirmed but no coins. wtf? Now realizing there is a "save" button there on the address tab, so I press it. Any advice?

Did coinbase gave you the TXID? if so, Can you post it here so we can know if the transaction is really confirmed.

Alco check if your electrum wallet is synced. There should be a green dot on the bottom right of it or blue if you're connected to a proxy.
3357  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Please help! Receiving Electrum wallet changed on: October 24, 2017, 02:41:42 AM
Hi. Please help! I sent some btc from an online wallet to my Electrum wallet, but before I got a chance to notice my new receiving address I put in the old address. Now I have my transaction in pending in my online wallet and it's not reaching my Electrum. I've been reading some stuff, but not sure what I can do.. Please help a newbie! Thanks

First let me confirm if this old address belongs to your electrum wallet? If it is, then there'll be no problem as you can always re-use your addresses.

Pending? You mean unconfirmed? How long has it been unconfirmed? Can you post the TXID here so we can grasp more information.
3358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck transaction. Any Bitcoin pool operators here? I have a question on: October 24, 2017, 01:32:34 AM
Maybe the dynamic fees box wasn't tick, you should check on your preferences. Next time it wouldn't hurt to check everything before signing your transaction since theres always a box that displays its current miner fee as well as a preview button.

Anyways I accelerated your transaction on Antpool since the fee was too low for viabtc and the size was too big for confirmtx.com free service.

EDIT: AntPool included it on block 491410
3359  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Sending BTC - Transaction confirmed but no funds received. on: October 23, 2017, 01:17:11 PM
Hello, I tried to sent 2 amounts of BTC from my Coinbase wallet to my Wirex wallet over the weekend.

I sent one payment on Saturday and one payment on Sunday - the Sunday one has cleared but the Saturday one hasn't

But for some reason its been over 48 hours and only 1 of 2 amounts I sent have cleared into my Wirex wallet even though they are both showing as Completed on my Coinbase account.

This is the transaction on Blockchain.info for the problem transaction:

https://blockchain.info/tx/be9e8d3e03565ca7f5b3327906f1ef46e4883346983bb88f1c67c1cd08ebd102

Does anyone have any advice for me please? Thanks in advance for your help. I dont fully understand the information being displayed to me on the blockchain.info page above.

The problem transaction you're talking about which is this is already been confirmed so it should be credited on whatever wallet you've sent it to. If it hasn't, you should contact their support as this problem lies on them. Also check if they will halt their deposits and withdrawals to prepare for bitcoin gold.
3360  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex bitcoin 24 deposit/withdrawal suspension transaction on: October 23, 2017, 12:25:37 PM
Why would you just send it like that? You do know that the amount you are transferring is quite big and in that case you should have checked the wallet before depositing any amount to it. They didn't send the notification but it was clearly written in the wallet list.
You can only HOPE that the Bittrex team is kind enough to credit the amount to your wallet after the suspension of wallet.
You can raise a ticket now that you have made a mistake to deposit the amount to your wallet while it was under suspension.

It was a force of habit, i've send numerous times to exchanges to the same adres and i never had any problems. Yesterday evening i even checked bittrex and everything was ok (no mention what so ever about the bitcoin suspension) it's not that his was their first hard fork and suspension, why didn't they post this a week before on their website or even emailed us? even prior to this day? they had weeks to get the word out. This is not very professional of them. It's not much effort to get that info out. Like put " hey before the fork date, on the 23th we are going to suspend bitcoin withdrawal/deposits for 24 hours" in big letters on their website. No that was too much effort for them. Just like that suspend bitcoin deposits/withdrawals and screwing some traders. Very disappointed by them

Bittrex Posted an official statement about this furthermore a lot of people here as well as blog sites also posted about this. Some sites won't spoon feed you so you will have to wait and navigate their blogs for announcements.
Bittrex will close deposits and withdrawals of Bitcoin 24 hours prior at block 491,263 to the BTG snapshot block 491,407 occurring approximately on October 23, 11pm PT (6am UTC).

Deposits are closed but I'm sure you'll be credited once the market opens if not this is sufficient for scam accusations but bittrex won't stoop that low.
Anyways, You can send an email to them about this https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/requests/new or at support@bittrex.com.
