2443  Other / Meta / Re: No to Merit for sale on: June 22, 2018, 05:31:19 AM
Welp. It's money we're talking about here. There's a lot of greedy and desperate people for it, and if you told them they could earn a handful of money just by spamming one forum, surely they'll flock here with no hesitation LOL.

Aaaaaand that's exactly the problem here, it has become a money making platform for some people. Now the merit system is introduced to halt those account farmers and spammers who are abusing the forum, they can't rank up without making substantial posts.
2444  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: SELLING 6 S9S, CAN'T SELL ON EBAY. OPTIONS? on: June 21, 2018, 11:14:26 PM
I can post some pictures for you tomorrow. For escrow, I haven't done it on this site, so is there anyone you trust? And I am located in Utah.

Thanks,

Jnem

You must have missed the thread I included in my post so I'll just post it again: Reasons for using Escrow Services (provided by Escrow Agents)

Make sure to ask for a sign message from the escrow.
2445  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain.info wallet and import/export tab on: June 21, 2018, 11:05:28 PM
The importing part was already explained and regarding on exporting, you can still do it but it's not gonna be on blockchain.info as it's no longer supported there.

a. Run this locally: https://iancoleman.io/bip39.
b. At the BIP39 Mnemonic textbox, type in your seed.
c. Make sure you're on BIP44 tab and go to Derived Addresses at the bottom where as the name implies, you'll see your addresses and their corresponding private/public key
 - To view your change addresses change "0" to "1" in the External / Internal textbox
 - To toogle accounts, just change the value in the "Account" field (0= default account, 1= 2nd acc....so on)
2446  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CEX.io acount activity request on: June 20, 2018, 09:22:43 PM
Being verified but not really, also seems to be standard now  Cheesy

Anyway, I did some searching and found two similar cases:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2797855.msg30171931#msg30171931
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3154338.0

Every exchange does have an AML/KYC but not as extreme as this.  I just remembered bitstamp's, they're similar.
2447  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: SELLING 6 S9S, CAN'T SELL ON EBAY. OPTIONS? on: June 19, 2018, 03:51:28 AM
I'm seeing a couple of newbies selling S9's near op's selling price. Did bitmain dropped it big time when I wasn't checking? or is this the S9i? maybe this is just the usual fraud?

Anyhow, If you wanna sell here, go to Marketplace --> Goods --> Computer parts. Another thing, stop solely looking from a seller's point of view, you ought to also consider the buyer's. If you were one, would you trust an anonymous newbie claiming to own an S9 without any proofs? No right? so you gotta work on that: post pictures/videos (preferrably with some note e.g. your username+bitcointalk+date), indicate the use of escrow, how the whole transaction will, take place securely etc..
2448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recommendations for newbies on: June 19, 2018, 03:10:36 AM
What did you read? I just remembered that a friend of mine got interested in bitcoin but the problem is he jumped right off into it's technical parts. That's a bad move if you're not a tech-savvy.

This one doesn't get too technical but still manages to cover the fundamental parts, check it out: What is Bitcoin? A Step-By-Step Guide For Beginners. But-but If you're still having a hard time understanding, then maybe you need a more lighter one like what's on RAMSHIVDEEPAK post.
2449  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Do you remember Bitconnect? I lost 3500 dollars in this pyramid! on: June 18, 2018, 12:31:04 PM
I remember Trevon James. One of the popular bitconnect shills on Youtube. His videos were convincing enough to get most of his subscribers (and Steemit folllowers) to buy into the bitconnect scam.

Welp. It's quite easy to convince greedy and desperate people especially when you're willing to do sacrifices (e.g. yer identity etc..)

Anyhow, There's a lawsuit filed against that guy right? along with other shillers

A lot of people lost their investment, but some of them earned money, even with this scam.

Majority of those people are parasites anyway, benefiting by dragging someone else.

Hi, let's remember bitconnect!
This scam should be forgotten forever.

Why though? To say the least, it's a perfect example of a not-to-follow-if-you-don't-wanna-be-the-next-fool, which should remind people
2450  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Top 5 cryptocurrency telegram channel to follow on: June 18, 2018, 12:01:19 AM
You say 'we' alot, who are we?

Seems like op came here just to advertise these channels so the chances are he's also an admin in those, which is why the "we" he's talking about most likely is none other than his team.

At any rate joining any signal groups/channels are not recommended as majority of them are pump-and-dump scams. There's no such thing as 100% accurate signal.

As for the news channels, I don't see which part of it denotes "high quality" when it's just a mere copy pasted information
2451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are telegram members of a project real? How can one tell? on: June 17, 2018, 11:09:37 PM
The problem is not just about bots but also dummy accounts who either joins in the conversation or stay inactive (basically just to add in the total number of members). There are also those real people who are added without them knowing. Surely, every telegram group has a mixture of them.

In any case since there's no such service (from my knowing), you just gotta observe and identify the red flags.

Real people who are truly interested discusses substantial things about the project whereas fakes are not so pay attention in the flow of conversations.
10000++ members but you are always seeing the same people? now that's suspicious isn't it?
Ask them how long has the telegram group been in existence and think if the total number of members is really possible to attain in that period of time.

It might not hint that there's a huge or majority of them are fakes as it could just be a case of uninterested members but nevertheless both of them aren't a good thing so so
2452  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to report likes and share. on: June 17, 2018, 09:44:27 PM
Err. Did you not read the campaign details?  Undecided

As mentioned by chathu789 there are a few ways to do that but it differs per campaign so you can't just choose whatever method you like, you have to refer to the campaign thread and do exactly as it says otherwise you'll get no pay or might even get banned. Yes you heard it, you might get banned when you post something that is not even required.

2453  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Feedback on open bazar requested. on: June 16, 2018, 10:44:26 PM
Openbazaar from what I know accepts a lot of cryptocurrencies and that includes ethereum.

Well I can't give any reviews about them as I haven't use it but you can find lots when you search on google as they've been in business for a long time.
Click...click...click here https://www.google.com.ph/search?q=openbazaar+reviews

2454  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Are there any reputable betting platforms and games that accept crypto? on: June 16, 2018, 10:15:56 PM
Yes there are. I have use 1xbet, a Russian betting platform before and deposited in bitcoins. Your Bitcoin deposit is immediately converted to your chosen local currency upon receipt.

Err NO NO, There's a lot of scam accusations about them so it's not recommended to use them @everyone

Have a look at this examples, I'm not listing all of them but you could always find it yourself

1xbet.com scam Not engaged
1xbet scam
!UNSOLVED! 1xBit.com Withdrawals blocked, Betting blocked no answers 3,934 BTC
1xbit/1xbet scam
2455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much do you make from bounties and airdrops? on: June 16, 2018, 09:49:44 PM
It depends on a couple of factors really. Take a look at this:

  • Which coin have you participated in (plus points for projects with great potential)
  • How much work did you do (the more you do = more pay)
  • When did you sold it (prices fluctuates greatly but selling early or holding for a long time doesn't necesarilly equate for higher pay)

What I'm trying to say is you ought to have a fairly good judgement of things if you want to earn decent amount through bounties.
2456  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Announcement] Bitmart Exchange platform is coming! on: June 15, 2018, 10:39:01 PM
It said 15 minutes for the code in the email Can't access to the internet and wrong validation code although typed it correctly

As you can see Op doesn't bother checking this thread anymore. So you ought to post here in their ANN thread: 【Announcement】BitMart Trading Platform is Coming!. You could also send a PM

If I may, You should be careful with new exchanges man. Always do a BG check  Wink
2457  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mercatox-Future king of crypto exchanger far superior than binance on: June 15, 2018, 10:34:44 PM
Mercatox is growing crypto exchanger in crypto industry. It is growing like maniac.Mercatox has some awesome feature which has separate mercatox from other exchanger. It has a such a great  transaction speed which is undoubtedly the best among crypto exchanger.Their withdrawl fee is far less than other exchanger. They have voting method to give a coin to list in their exchange which is very popular now. They have a loyalty program which makes this exchanger unique.Loyalty program offers us to make a great money. They have open a super fast support team.Undoubtedly Mercatox is the future king of crypto. Please guys comments and tell me about your experience trading in Mercatox

These features you are talking about can be easily found in other exchanges, of course except for the "super fast support" because no one has that... and yeah I don't think I've encountered another exchange which has a loyalty program as far as I'm aware of, either way I don't stay for that stuff, I just want a damn good service! That's it

Is it just me or is anyone else also seeing that all of a sudden Junior members have started to say "good experiences" about mercatox exchange? It all feels like the marinecoin shill program but in a smaller medium, atleast now.

Oh what is going on  Shocked. At any rate, you could really tell that this is just a roundabout of words used for advertising---very similar with those newbies posting their scam sites here.
2458  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Buy/Sell Crypto on DAM on: June 15, 2018, 09:22:33 PM
No, it's not an exchange. No fiat is held by the website.  Crypto is transferred from the seller to the buyer.

Think of it as Amazon/Etsy for crypto except even the seller is paid directly.

I'm not great at graphics and focused more getting the code to work correctly.  Even Binance the favicon sucks, does not have About Us, no location, is a central exchange, cheesy Ads, but millions threw crypto on there (this is before they became a monster).

I understand the concern about scamming and I think this is what will keep us all from using Coinbase and big players at this point.  It's just easier to deal with what you know and trust.  Also, not a lot of people want to offer their coins for fiat.

You don't need to trust me to list items and you don't technically need to trust the seller before buying (verification is required) since you can dispute Paypal transactions, if you use that.  Also, an escrow service can be used.

They don't need to trust you?? Shocked If they don't trust you then how can they trust your verification? (Who knows if it's safe to entrust our indentities or if it's fake or not).

Everyone who used any of the big player exchanges has their first times so obviously they have no past experience with that particular exchange so surely it must've looked "trustable" in their eyes. I'm not only talking about the look and feel as there are also other factors that contributes to it such as reviews, transparency etc.. but it's no doubt that the look and feel is a crucial part so man you gotta work on your UI--- and yeah a lot of other things also.
2459  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: coinstalk.org on: June 15, 2018, 07:22:52 PM
It's not accesible currently. Although I barely understand anything since everything was in russian (I think)-- I just used a translator, it seems the site was blocked by fornex which seems to be a server and hosting services.

Anyhow, If the site has exactly the same look as this forum then it's a phishing site so don't ever enter your account's credentials there.
2460  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A newbie needed assistance in participating in bounty programs. on: June 15, 2018, 06:34:11 PM
Thanks for your feedback btcprospecter. Just like a normal new comer, campaigns brought me to bitcointalk but I have rearised in the few hours that I spent here that there is more to bitcointalk than just bounty campaigns.
I want to participate in the community as a whole and your assistance guidance will be appreciated.
Thanking you in anticipation.

It's good that you're getting rid of your I'll-be-here-for-money mentality but why do you still need an assistance when all information that a newbie must know, are all here stickied, you just have to look for it... or did you not look for it!? For example this board beginners and help has a lot of sticky threads which are always on the upper part so it's impossible not to miss them... surely you should have seen the "Newbies read before posting" thread.

Read every sticky threads -> If you still got some question(s) unanswered -> Ask google (Question+site:bitcointalk.org if you want to see results from this forum) -> Lastly, If no luck, ask here
