3381  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Campaign and Reward on: October 17, 2017, 02:14:51 AM
Yes I can see some people joined before in a signature campaign that can earn more than 1 btc like 1-2 months of joining I just remember some participants from  PPT(populous) Signature campaign earned almost 3 btc worth ppt tokens.

Signature campaigns that pays through tokens are a gamble imo as there is no assurance that its price will boom or even enlisting itself on exchanges particularly the big ones.
Participants on that are just lucky as only a few people are doing a well through research before joining a campaign that pays in tokens although there are a lot of projects that seemed promising at first but sadly it did not did well when it goes live.

Much better to just join a high paying signature camp as well as restrain yourself from spending your incomes. You're always a winner if you go long term on bitcoin
3382  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Supermarket Accept Bitcoin on: October 17, 2017, 12:24:15 AM
No, we don't have any supermarket that accepts bitcoin here, but we have bitcoin ATM in the mall so if you want to spend your bitcoin you may convert your bitcoin to the cash first then spend them. But I heard there are so many services like bitcoin visa debit card where you can buy literally anything, I don't have any experience with that card before but if this method really works well I think we don't need the merchant to accept bitcoin.

Bitcoin ATM has outrageous fees moreover i'm strongly doubting its security. As for bitcoin debit cards, they also have outrageous fees and seriously its unstable, there will be a countless temporary discountinuation of service just like whats happening now, apparently there was a change of regulation and most bitcoin debit cards providers have declared there will be a temporary discountinuation of service for users outside eu. We need merchants who will accept bitcoin directly without the need of some 3rd party services for conveniency and to kill those fees as well as freedom to fully use our bitcoin.
3383  Other / Archival / Re: blockchain.info backup phrase on: October 16, 2017, 10:05:49 AM
You can back up your recovery phrase by going to Settings-->Security, after that you'll see Wallet Recovery Phrase and click Backup Phrase.

Blockchain.info's support is quite slow imo so don't expect you'll receive replies fast as the odds are they are also receiving tons of emails. And the solution for your concern can just be searched on the internet Wink
3384  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What is the best bitcoin web wallet? on: October 15, 2017, 10:38:50 PM
iam using tow web wallets its blockchain and https://freebitco.in/?r=892945
becourse Blockchain iam using since years now and its more than trused  Wink
but for now iam also using https://freebitco.in/?r=892945 becourse they offer low fees .
And many other great options like a 4% yearly interest !

kind regards

Low fees? You mean miner fees right? If you set a low fee, the odds are your transaction will take longer to get confirmed. As of today there is no wallet who is willing to shoulder their users miner fees as it will cost a lot and might lead to loss. Freebitco.in is a very versatile site as they have lots of offers faucet/gambling/investement/wallet and recently browser mining through scripts and to the best of my knowledge, as a wallet they are only ensuring that your transaction/s have sufficient fees to not get stuck so offering low fees is not possible imo.

Online/web wallets are only good for small amounts as they don't give private keys. For big amount its recommended to use wallets that give you full control of your funds. and i won't sacrifice security for small profits.
3385  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Research Shows Half a Billion People Are Mining Cryptocurrencies Without Knowing on: October 15, 2017, 08:34:43 AM

What?Huh  They should inform us or at least ask for permission.  They got all the profit at the expense of our CPUs.  Criminals in disguise.

QUOTE
We found 220 sites that launch mining when a user opens their main page, with an aggregated audience of 500 million people. These people live all over the world; there are sites with users from the USA, China, South American and European countries, Russia, India, Iran… and the list goes on.

The ethical way for a website to earn money by mining through its audience’s computers is to ask the audience for permission first, and to allow them the possibility to opt out. Actually, such a practice could make mining even more ethical than ads. After all, nobody asks us if we would like to see ads on a website.
UNQUOTE

SOURCE: https://news.bitcoin.com/half-billion-people-mining-cryptocurrencies

This is why almost all cloud mining are just scams. Just downloading their app is enough for them have access in our pc's So for desperate beginners who would want to mine without really spending huge amount is not really worth it and you will just be taken advantage. Mining really is a huge investment if you want to build your own mining system. Antminers and other technology to help solve and reduce electricity  is not just gonna be downloaded.

As far as I know, No cloud mining was mentioned in the article as this mining through browser by borrowing our CPU's to mine. from what i understand there was no downloading that happened as it is not required. Mining starts as soon as the sites are opened in our browser and the mining scripts run. This is done to test if its enough to replace ads right? if there was a download involved the revenue is most probably lower than ads.

Yah i also think that they should at least inform their users before borrowing their cpu's as this can slow their system although if done right this can replace ads as long as the cpu usage can be adjusted same with ads, its tolerable if there are no way too many pop-ads, videos that start by itself etc. in one page. To be clear almost all sites stated are shady ones e.g. torrents sites, pirated etc. so clearly we don't have the right to ask for profits or feel that we are robbed lol because admins will not support these sites through their pocket moneys --as we use these sites for free--obviously revenues from ads and this new mining are use for the site. If you viewed an ad in a certain site do you ask for profit?
3386  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: HELP ! problem with electrum wallet on: October 14, 2017, 10:26:07 PM
hello, i have a problem with electrum wallet and i hope someone can help me.

Two days ago I transferred BTCs from my exchange account to my wallet electrum, after 24 h the operation had not yet appeared.
I tried to make a payment operation and so, even the previous operation appeared, everything was resolved.
Last night I started a new payment, the operation seemed blocked.
This morning I found that the last payment transaction was completed correctly but the payment of two days ago has disappeared.
What can I do?
I thank anyone who can give me a tip.

Gio

Okay. First can you post all your transactions TXID here? (in chronological order) so we can confirm if it really get through
Second can you check if your electrum wallet is properly sync? What color of dot can you see on the bottom right of your wallet? Is it green or what?
And kindly tell is if you're using the latest version? It should be Electrum-2.9.3

3388  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discontinuation of Card Services by Visa and MasterCard to crypto currency on: October 14, 2017, 04:00:26 AM
Theres really no need for a cryptocurrency debit card if the merchants start accepting BTC. Online merchants could also integrate shapeshift.io to automatically do the job for them to convert everything to BTC.

But too bad most of them want or need fiat currency. Maybe that will all change if BTC reaches $10,000?
I don't think that's all about the price.

Imagine that I'm the owner of a restaurant and want to accept Bitcoin as payment method. Someone buys an ice cream worth $5 and pays with Bitcoin. How am I going to pay my my ice cream supplier if he only accept USD? And even if he accepts Bitcoin, how would he pay the company that provides his milk if they don't accept Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is still far for being used as a real currency. For now, almost every merchant that accepts Bitcoin will convert his coins to dollars almost instantly to avoid losses due to Bitcoin's volatility.

Well yeah, The point is merchants--most of them-- ain't gonna be accepting bitcoin/cryptocurrencies anytime soon actually its still far imo thats why theres a decent demand on bitcoin debit cards, look at the companies who established their own.

@OP yeah this is legit some people talked about this on reddit. Wirex has even released their stance on this https://wirexapp.com/will-my-wirex-card-still-work-oct-15/. Apparently there'll be no loss on wirex card users as the funds on the card will be transferred on their wallet there.
3389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MEW Scam Email on: October 14, 2017, 12:14:10 AM
Honestly those people who scam  to us are those  people who are living in china. and people who are doing internet marketing since they are not successful in scamming to someone when dealing they are making new lander for email marketing  and  other they are doing blackhat strategy to promote their fake site..
So beware for this guys there are lots of scammers out there russia and india are almost who are doing scam these days base on what i experience and research from some forum..  since the price of bitcoin is really high they are doing anyway just to got bitcoin since the price of bitcoin is really increase fast and high..

Please stop generalizing people as not all internet marketers are scammers and not all people who are living in china are gonna scam us in fact the location has nothing to do with it but its the skills of of looking like a legit. What we should look after is the content itself, Make reading a habit and take time to think and analyze the data before doing something particularly if it involves money. Take the op for example as the content is definitely suspicious this is probably why op looked into it as something is definitely wrong.

I am sure this question is asked numerous times but can someone please advise on why this bitcoin transfer is taking so long?  I am the person receiving and it has been over 36 hours.  I have never had to wait longer than 6 - 10 hours at the most.  I have tried increasing the fees, parent/child, etc...  I just want to know what is going on and if this will for sure complete?  Any idea on how much longer to expect?  Thanks for any advice you can give!

Transaction ID: 6a2381f0b228bf9d2d9d9e61ed44177de5c5c6d0f28a41731bac4c579a3c8019

Size: 5988 bytes

fee: .00246 btc

There have been 15 inputs and 3 outputs.

For a size that big, the fee was too low furthermore the mempool is currently loaded with tons of unconfirmed transaction thats why its no wonder your transaction is stuck right now. Before sending a transaction kindly use a fee estimator like https://bitcoinfees.21.co and check if the mempool is loaded or not.

There are free transaction acceleration services like viabtc and here on our forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2204426.0
Unfortunately, https://confirmtx.com charges $4 for transactions exceeding 500bytes

Anyways I'll try quequeing your transaction in viabtc
EDIT: I successfully quequed it
EDIT: Viabtc included your transaction in block 489718
3391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: UNCOMFIRMED on: October 13, 2017, 08:49:53 PM
Looks like the network is a bit busy today, there is a lot of unconfirmed transactions despite decent fees. But I don't look at this as a huge problem, everything will be soon back on track and besides there are some accelerating tools that might be of help. It happened often before but some users are keen to panic.

Its no wonder that the network is busy because bitcoins price pumped great today. Everytime the price pumped for a short period of time it should be expected that the miner fees will also rise a bit--depends on the transaction size--. Always use this site to calculate the right fees and avoid your transaction getting stucked https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ and check if the mempool loaded with tons of unconfirmed transaction or not

Meanwhile it seems like the transaction has already received at least 1 confirmation as i tried to enter it on viabtc. But its tagged as unconfirmed on blockchain.info on the other hand its confirmed with 1 confirmation on blocktrail at the moment. I guess blockchain.info is quite buggy as there 62K unconfirmed transactions atm

Hi, my name is Sergey Kozlovsky, I'm a correspondent with the BBC Russian service. I'm investigating BTC-e scam and Alexander Vinnik case. I've seen reports that money from BTC-e were withdrawn through a company named XP Solutions. Does anybody have invoices showing that this is true?
Why don't you try asking the bank were the money came from, not some random bitcoin forum?
BTC-e was not a bank, it computers didn't hold money, only crypto wallets.

yah its no use asking us here as we don't have the authority for such information and even if we have a few user here who has it, i doubt they will release it publically on their own. Common people like us just wait for official announcements although some are just fishy statements. For now all accusations is just tagged as "allegedly" but didn't BTC-e already stated that Vinnik has nothing to do with them? Some guy translated it as it was in russian. Sadly i think the post is already deleted? i think

How many gold will i get ,somewhere i read 1:10 but i think it is too much

you will get 1:1 this is not a coinswap or exchange
if you have 1 bitcoin you will get 1 bitcoin gold

now i guess what you were reading but failed to understand that bitcoin gold will probably have 1:10 value of the bitcoin.

It is not yet comes to the market you are speculating the value comparison with bitcoin. Bitcoin gold will destroy the market place value of bitcoin what it's bump today. However, try to hold the bitcoins as much you can.
BCH dump you may aware as like that this coin also will goes to the dump value in future. Go with ETH or ripple.
I don't really expect too much on this Bitcoin Gold but somehow this coins would really give some easy free money by just storing up bitcoin into those wallets who do support private keys and as far as I know Jaxx do support BCH back in the previous fork which we can presume that it would do the same thing. For now I'm using electrum wallet on storing bitcoin as much as I can.I love to see free coins again and dump it for free money. Grin

Yah they did state they'll support BCH although crediting users takes longer than expected not to mention they are still working on it http://decentral.ca/update-bch-jaxx/#20171010. I'll also add that they still haven't released an official statement that they will support bitcoin gold https://www.reddit.com/r/jaxx/comments/759gzc/bitcoin_gold_support/do8549z/ so better wait guys. Although technically, as long as you are in control of your private keys you can access it once it goes live. The problem is if you guys are planning on dumping it once the price rises up because the odds are exchanges who'll list it freezes deposits just like what happened on bittrex but the users who got some btc on their wallet there got their bch credited asap so they are able to dump it fast. On the other hand jaxx made it seem that the users can access their bch asap so i wouldn't recommend storing your bitcoin on them assuming that they will integrate it, then again only if you're planning on dumping asap. Anyways, Just be updated we're still not that near
3394  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum seed and mycelium seed are not compatible -- why? on: October 12, 2017, 05:37:09 PM
It might not be possible on electrums android app because there is no bip39 box on options as i just checked it, and not to mention its buggy though but its possible to import mycelium in electrums windows version. Just tick the box BIP39 seed on options when you are asked to enter the seed. I used this in the past so it should also work for you.
3395  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Q: About some transactions no miners pick up on: October 12, 2017, 05:25:54 AM
Thank you for your prompt reply.
Quote
If someone loses their private keys, then they will be unable to spend their bitcoins.  The bitcoins effectively don't move until the transaction is confirmed. Therefore, they are still accessible to the sender until the transaction confirms.  Once the transaction is confirmed, the bitcoins are only accessible to the receiver.  There is no intermediate place for the bitcoins.  They are either available to the sender or to the receiver as long as they have their private keys.

In this case I have one more question.

If the sender make the second transaction of which inputs are the first transaction txid to accomplish the first transaction and re-send the second transaction with higher fee compare to normal transaction size, then will some miners include the second transaction into blockchain?

If so,the receiver will be able to get bitcoins.

Is this right?

In other words you'll be creating two transactions that spends the same bitcoins but the other one will have a higher fee?

The literal double spending has never happened in bitcoin because if there are transactions which tagged as "double spent" the first one to receive confirmations becomes the official and the rest will be invalid. In most cases if the first transaction's miner fee is too low the one which has the sufficient or higher fee gets confirmed first so the first one will be invalid.
3396  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Xapo fees is too high. on: October 12, 2017, 02:26:59 AM
I did withdraw most of my funds also in xapo though it hurts me to stop using their service but I just can't help myself and I can't endure to be blinded by their fees. It's really their problem that they are not giving the users of that option about low - high priority of our transactions. If ever they'll be starting to be in that position then possibly that I'm going to use them again but for now, I would stick into web wallets that are good for low and has adjustable fees.

Instead of relying on online wallet services that people only complain about, why don't you just use a mobile wallet such as the Mycelium Bitcoin wallet? It doesn't require you to download the entire block chain, and you are the only entity in control of your private keys. It gives you all the convenience and security you are looking for. Xapo and other online wallet services will not change the way they set up their fee structure so easily, so there is no point into waiting for that to ever happen.

Don't forget about electrum, you don't have to download the whole blockchain network too as it's a normal desktop wallet where you can use it as your cold storage.

I don't use xapo anymore too and it's just the same with your reasons so I tried to find another good wallet where I can store most of my bitcoins and electrum is a good choice for me.

For me a web wallet blockchain.info is a good one but still it's a web wallet and it's still at risk. Mycelium is a good wallet but I never used it since I'm satisfied with electrum.
I have remaining blance in xapo i think around 0.007 something but since the fee is really high its not worth it to withdraw it..
I was using it before even xapo wallet when logging in is  really buggy wallet that i was experience it before since faucets before without fee when receiving and xapo is the only site that you can instantly receive from your faucet earnings that is why i use them and for debit card.. So i stop using this and only use mycelium and electrum for now because i wanted to control my wallet and can backup private keys like the other said you should backup this so that you can recover it in other wallet..

.007 btc is not a small amount to me therefore you should certainly move it to a more safer wallet since i think xapo might follow coinbase steps. Don't worry when sending from xapo to an external wallet the fees they charge will go through your transactions miner fee unlike when receiving a certain amount which you can check from this https://in.xapo.com/fees/. You should pick the lowest amount of miner fee which is 63K sats since i assume that you're not in a hurry. You're practically giving it on them, If you don't withdraw your balance on xapo. Losing 63K sats is certainly worth it to gain 600Ksats+

@Jossiel, mycelium is an android/IOS wallet--the best so far-- so its very handy on urgent payments. It's quite a hassle turning on windows to open electrum and off again since i don't use my desktop always unlike my phone which is always available 24/7

Hi
After made some payments my electrum wallet is always in synchro mode. I have restored it more times with my seeds, changed network in manually and automatically but can't connect while I haven't this issue with my other electrum wallets. Can somebody help me?

First Check if you have the latest version which is 2.9.3 if not dowload the latest version here https://electrum.org/#download
If the above didn't work, try turning off your firewall and antivirus but its much better to just check them if they are blocking electrum from connecting to the internet
Or your blockchain_headers file could be corrupted so try deleting it and launching electrum again as it works for me in the past.

If the problem persists kindy update us here.

Hello dear supporters
We received funds in bitcoin electrum, Also we have transaction Id but they doesn't show on bitcoin electrum and the balance doesn't changed, any body knows what should we do?

Okay. For now paste your TXID in any block explorer e.g. blockchain.info, blocktrail and check if the funds was really sent. And can you also post it here?
If the TXID doesn't exist thats a different story lol. but if it is, check your electrum wallet if it is properly synced-- you should see a green dot on the bottom right. i heard it turns blue if you're using proxy or tor and lastly if its red then its not. The classic way to solve this is to close electrum and start it again. The other way is to check your antivirus or firewall if its blocking electrum.

If the problem persists kindy update us here  Wink

Which bitcoin wallet is best for transaction.

Anyone can tell me which wallet take low fee secure & send bitcoin as fast as possible
Depending on your locality and on the wallets which are on the poll do have their own advantage coinbase=us citizens, coins.ph= philippines citizens, blockchain= global. If you do live on philippines then coins.ph would be the best wallet for you since you can easily convert or buy bitcoin in a matter of clicks which you cant able to make on some wallets and also when it comes on cash out it can directly give you an option to put directly on bank or money remittances. For coinbase i dont have much idea since im not a US citizen.

Picking a wallet based on your location is not a good idea. people should base it on its features and security. Since we are talking about which is the best wallet i'm thinking a wallet which is suited for primary use. All wallets listed on the poll are online wallets, most of these do not give private keys to their users as it is the proof that you own a particular wallet and allows you to fully control it. second problem is if the site ever goes down, accessing would not be possible furthermore these online wallets tends to have incompetent support, coinbase and blockchain are both known for it although coins.ph in my opinion has a great support team. this article might help you https://blockgeeks.com/guides/cryptocurrency-wallet-guide/
