343  Economy / Economics / Re: Coping with Risk. on: February 12, 2024, 10:54:20 AM
so my question is, which is more risky?

A). Running a physical business that has a whole lot of risk associated with it or

B) running an online investment with high risk of hack that could result in you loosing all your asset.

I have a little advice for you and this is it.

** Don't start a business you are not used to with your money, you will most likely failed in that business and you might not make anything because as a first time business person, you are bound to make some errors and mistakes because it's not everything they will tell you until you learn it on your own. So whether you are going online or offline, don't sleep on this advice.

The second advice is this, you should know that all business has risk whether it's online or offline, someone good at online will give you some advice to go for online but by the time you give it a try, it might not worth it or you may even regret trying it out. What you should do is to develop a interest in one area and try a little from it like a form of sample, study it and see if it's going to worth it or not before you push high amount of money into it. Just know that all business or investment involves risk.

Have a few BTC wallets , without passwords unfortunately…. Among others the 31K … darned , wish I had the password …
Anyway is there anyone here with tips , and I don’t mean password hashing , cause did that , been there …
Any tips regarding passwords would be nice ! Also have 4250 btc wallet , 1730 btc , 844 , 1225 , 109 844 , 26 etc etc etc …
Any information is appreciated !

It's obvious that you are looking for victims because I don't understand why someone like you will.have so much Bitcoin in numbers yet knows little about Bitcoin, you must really thought everyone in this forum forum are really daft and naive without understanding what Bitcoin is about. You are definitely lying or you are trolling for attention.

For your information, you don't need passwords on any of your Bitcoin, what you need is a private key to proetct them which must not be reveal to anyone or you just single house them in single seed phrase, that 12-24 words are enough to protect your bitcoin from the rest of the world and nobody must have access to them except you alone. You can tweak your seed phrase by adding additional passphrase just to make it unique incase your seed phrase is exposed to the public.

If you use a hardware that you use for daily transactions or most of the time, you can use password for that only but know that it's enough to protect your bitcoin because your seed phrase is the main protection, if it's compromised, the password to the hardware will not protect you.

346  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AI-generated fake IDs claimed to pass crypto exchange KYC are selling for $15 on: February 11, 2024, 06:46:30 PM
Shockingly it is just $15 to get a fake AI generated driver licenses and passports. It has been reportedly succeeded KYC verification on many crypto exchanges.

The first time I saw the implications of using AI software was on Tiktok. I discussed that earlier on one of the thread about the dangers of using centralized exchanges and it seems even the centralized exchanges aren't aware of this yet and since some of them use a third party service to help them verify customers with their software, the new developed AI are penetrating them without boundaries, even scammers are using the Apps to scam victims from dating scams and other fraud to get money from people.

If care is not taken, most of this exchanges might even as people to redo the KYC that has been passed before and it might even be worse the second attempt because they will only create a room for more AI generated videos and pictures. They need to know that the world is developing, they need to find a way to curb fraud as the government instruct them, they should fold because they are government tools and must be ready to comply everytime. 347  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When is the best time to trade a Bitcoin on: February 11, 2024, 06:33:05 PM
Having Bitcoin at this time is a very big achievement for anyone who has it now, but as everyone one may know no condition is permanent in the market you may have the up and downs loss and profit depending on how you strategically plan your personal business.
Now I observed that Bitcoin is like a gamble of football game whereby you go to the bet shop book your bet and wait for what will come sometimes you win sometimes fear can make you cash out after your cash out you may be lucky and sometimes you might lose something you would have gotten if you had waited.

It's wrong to make this kind of analogy on Bitcoin. Bitcoin involves risk but please Bitcoin is not related to gambling. When you gamble, you either win or loss but most likely you will even lose but trading Bitcoin is different, you either make profit or you make loss but the profit is guaranteed if you have patience and the loss can be minimal in the sense that even if you make loss, it's going to be unrealized loss which meams that you have the chance to hold until price comes back to gain the money you have loss, the key thing here is patience.

Quote
Same to Bitcoin patience matters alot you may sometimes sell your Bitcoin because of fear of depreciation in value exchange while some still hold on to it
I just discovered that Bitcoin most times depreciates in day time but when it gets to late hours at night it increases its exchange value I don't know if anyone has this observation as well

This assumption is also wrong, you can't trade like this for long time. This your observation might be true but it can only be for sometimes, when the metrics changes, that thing you are looking as afternoon dump and night pump will reverse and you will be caught in between the devils claws.

Quote
So for me in this situation you can buy your Bitcoin at day time and trade it at night when it adds
But it is very important to watch at it carefully.

There is no special time to buy bitcoin if you understand the market, you can literally but bitcoin when everyone is sleeping and sell in the afternoon because you are the one that think people are sleeping, bitcoin is global and because your country is in the night doesn't mean others are in the night, there is time variance between countries.
348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I buy illiquid tokens? on: February 11, 2024, 06:20:52 PM
Hello,
I tried to buy many tokens on uniswap but it turned out most of them are illiquid.

It looks like illiquid tokens can always be bought but there might be problems with selling them later.

So I'd like to ask: How can I always buy illiquid tokens that aren't listed on exchanges? Is it possible on uniswap or do I have to change platform? I don't mind waiting hours to get my order filled btw.

P.S: I understand the risks well. And so if I'd ever do it, I will know how to manage my risk...

Thank you!

I'm trying to comprehend why you want to buy illiquid tokens. There is something you need to understand with uniswap tokens that are illiquid. When they are listed, most of the time investors dump the coins, so it's either they take away the liquidity such as Ethereum and Usdt and the dump the tokens until no tangible liquidity left on the pool and when you want to sell the coins, it's becomes a problem and if the team doesn't top the liquidity, it's remain illiquid forever until someone buy the coin but you might not be able to sell back if the liquidity is small in the pool.

As for illiquid tokens, why not buy coins that aren't listed yet instead of putting yourself into traps that will get you where you don't expect. I don't think a coin will be listed in uniswap as mistake, it's always listed for trading and when they are illiquid, is either the team doesn't add the liquidity or it's drain up. In addition, you should be aware that even scammers can list any contract without adding any liquidity, they make you buy and you wouldn't be able to sell the coins, be extra careful of such activities on uniswap and other decentralized exchanges.
349  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading or Long term on: February 11, 2024, 05:54:47 PM
So I have been trying to wrap my head around which is a better option, day trading crypto or buying for long term keep.
While they both have their pros and cons, they both come with a form of risk and they are meant to generate profit.
The major difference between them is that day trading tend to make profit from small market volatility, while hodling make profit from the bigger change in crypto value.
Day trading involves more techniques, self discipline and rational decision making.
Which do you prefer and think is better

Instead of been ideal, I will share you the reality because that's what we need to know, not all these theoretical aspect of discussion because after a while and testing what's been recommended, you will found out that it's what you wish to see you might see in the process.

Trading is not easy, that's a fact, I have been there and have done that, I made money and I made losses but overall, the experience was worth it but you will not enjoy trading unless when there is a bullrun. The bear market is very bad one to engage if you are a trader, you will most likely make more losses than even profit doing trading in bear market but if you are good, you will make money as a day trader in bull run. That said.

As for holding, it's very advantageous than trading, you don't need time resource, you don't need indept technical knowledge of trading, you don't need to do deep analysis like trading, just some few info about the coin, check the chart if it's time to buy and get some on your wallets and you will be fine. You sell when there is profits without going extra miles to check things like stop-loss. However, you need to be careful of the type of coins you buy so you don't become exit liquidity for market manipulators.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bullish 2024 ! on: February 11, 2024, 05:45:46 PM
Currently many new projects with large funding raised are listed and it can be said that they are big projects because after listing some of them entered the top 50 of CMC. examples include APTOS ARBITRUM and SUI.
I mean, does the emergence of many new projects like this indicate that bullish is getting closer? What do you think ?

The past has always shows that project with large funding does pump during bull run but the once that remain solid after the pump are the ones that doesn't become flat. We have had projects like internet Project, they had more than $200m raise from different investors but what happened after that, the coin had a massive pump we have ever seen but later, it dump because all tokens were unlocked when the mainnet wasn't launch yet. This is to tell you that raising massive amount of money doesn't guarantee the long term growth of a project.

Aptos, Arbirtrum and Sui were launched during the bear market and I must say that they have survived the critism beautifully, they will have a fantabulous growth but you have to be patient because whales are now careful of how they approach project and pump them, they don't want venture capitals who is usually have big allocations or some random person to always dump on their sweat. It's a good buy if you can buy and hold them for long term.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Between new tokens and old tokens, which would you invest into? on: February 10, 2024, 07:40:53 PM
The bull market is approaching and after that, the altcoin season will start as it has done in other bullish time for the market. Everyone has to be planning for what they'll buying in preparation for the bull run therefore I have a question for everyone. What altcoins will you be buying in preparation for the altcoin season if you only have limited option to choose between investing in old tokens, projects that were launched before or during last bull market or tokens that were launched between last year, this year and the next year. Let assume you only have $1000 and you can put this money in 1-5 projects but they all have to be either old tokens or new tokens that you'll be buying. Which one will you go for, for those that will think they can choose the two type of projects, that won't be possible. I'm trying to see where the attention of investors go when selecting tokens to invest into for the altcoin season.

It doesn't matter if a coin is a new cat or an old cat, what matters is unique features they want to give to the crypto community that has never been there before. If what they want to offer is good enough with better funding, many people will move their because what keeps a project for long term is proper funding, even the people that hold the old coins move their just so not to miss the opportunity there. You have to be careful though, not all coins do well sometimes even after proper research on them.

If you have much money to spare, I will say it's better to put in some money in projects that has tested bear market and were able to survive the turbulence despite the hard times, the whales visit these coins when there is bull run and you don't know when they make moves. Anytime you notice they have been pumped, that's the best time to moved out with decent profits, don't get cuagt by the hype.of it making new all time high, often they don't reach 50% of the previous time high.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will still be my choice this year. on: February 10, 2024, 02:48:51 PM
If they ask me to make a choice on altcoin to invest in this new year, Ethereum will still be my choice because I know that their team are strong team and they are capable to make Ethereum the king among all the altcoins in the market for investors to continue making it for their choice. If you look at the altcoins market very well you will see that Ethereum is about to reach $3k and if it happen this year it will help those of us that are lovers of Ethereum to make another huge amount of profits from the market. I know, we still have some good altcoins in the market to invest and everyone has his own choice to make in the market to invest in any altcoins of his or her choice which I chose Ethereum as my choice this year, what is your own choice in altcoins investment if they ask you to invest again in altcoins?

Do you think I make a good choice this year or I should include BNB so that if one is delaying me in the market, I can try the other one to achieve what I want .

When you make a choice, there should be a solid reason why you do that. Making a pick when there are other products and yet you didn't mention one tangible reason why you did didn't convince me a bit why you choose Ethereum, you are only interested in the price action, nothing more.

I like ethereum, the security is 10 times bigger than other later 1 smart contracts blockchain than we have so far despite having many of them as ethereum killer, we haven't had any killer in real sense. However, the speed is something I don't like, too slow for my liking for 2024 to be processing transaction of 15 transaction per second when we have many other than can do 20 times faster than ethereum but the community is just strong and they are very loyal, Solana could have steal that limelight but associating with FTX was their biggest downfall.

Other than the speed, the project remain solid one, the fees is not encouraging. We need to accept that ethereum fees is going to remain like that. Technically, if the fees can be lower than the current level, they would have done so but everyday, the community continue to have branches of layer 2 to support ethereum layer 1 which are always motivated for bridge to lower fees, this is why I don't buy the hype anytime they say Ethereum will have lower fees in the future.
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 10, 2024, 02:06:12 PM
What the hell with Manchester City, they only dominating the ball possession and have more total shots, but all of their shots are out of target. Will we see Everton pull an upset in this match? but De Bruyne is playing right now, maybe he can change the rhythm and make Manchester City will able to score a goal.

The match is interesting to watch when Manchester City didn't yet score a goal lol.

You really think Everton will let go so easily? There is this mind everyone has developed that Manchester City are dominant team in the sense that anytime they have match with other teams that aren't in from, they always win them. Now, Everton has visit Etihad with strong center back, they are not giving it to Manchester City and that's why so far, they have not gotten any short on target since the beginning of the match. If Everton center back can as strong as center forward, they are going to deal with Manchester City than we can ever imagine I'm this game.

Just as I was typing, Everton has just conceded a goal from Manchester city and seems the pressure is building up on them, City has finally unlock the defensive style of Everton and with the look of the match, Manchester will do a clean sheet on Everton because they have just shown their weakness by allow Haaland to lead with first goal since after he came back from his injury.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Selling a property to play gamble on: February 10, 2024, 01:55:38 PM
It's never advisable to sell any for the purpose of gambling, if you don't have any spare cash then, you should just leave gambling for that period of time. After all, it isn't written anywhere that you must gamble every now and then. Even inside gambling addiction, there is what I call chronic addiction and that is when the gambler begins to sell properties for gambling. Selling those properties, there is no way you are being guaranteed that you'll win the bet or recover your asset back. Majority of the times I've come across gamblers who sold asset to gamble didn't turn out well.

Whether it's gambling or not, it doesn't make any iota sense to sell property. Selling property just to gamble is more worse than even borrowing money to gamble. Why would you even sell property to gamble when it's not like you are posses or course. Let's say for instance, you have a land and because you don't have any source of income and you sell it, then the thought of doubling that money comes to mind, I will rather use the money and eat than use that money to even think about gambling.

Experience has shown that people that does this don't bring back anything, gambling isn't the only thing that bring money if it's money that you desire, invest the money into another business than try something you might even regret later. If there is any person that has done this successfully by selling his or her property was only lucky to win one, majority don't make anything but rather a loss and then regret is what follows.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does even freezing a customer's account curb irresponsible gambling? on: February 10, 2024, 12:22:29 PM
If suddenly you went on a binge-gambling out of a lack of self-control or something else. For example, you deposit money in rapid succession after a series of losses and the casino management freezes your account. And when you call their customer support, they tell you that your account has been frozen for 3 weeks and the reason why they carried out that measure was because they suspected that you were gambling irresponsibly and decided to take that measure so that you can call yourself back to order, will you feel furious, cuss out, sign out of your account and register on another casino and continue betting. Does even freezing a customer's account curb irresponsible gambling or betting addiction?

The casino doesn't have that right or any obligation to freeze your account for irresponsibly gambling. What is even term as irresponsible? Because you lost? It's not fair, I will not use such kind of casino because what if the losses were from your own mistakes? I have I many questions but I think this is why we need to always read the terms and conditions of casino when making a new account, for them to do such, they must have indicated it in their terms and conditions but because we don't care to read them, we accept it without even knowing the things we accept.

The gambling platforms I used all have suspend accounts but it has to be done by you and the moment you activated the "suspend account", they will ask you to confirm from your email and once that is done, they will not activate your account again until that time has elapsed. Should you change your mind later, they will not open the account because they think you are addicted, the first condition will remain which is suspended until that period has elapsed which is good for gambling addicts.
356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do coaches get sacked over poor performance of players? on: February 09, 2024, 06:48:43 PM
I have followed various sporting activities and I noticed something that hardly make complete sense to me and that is the rationale behind firing a coach when the players do perform poorly. What drew my attention to this is a news flash about Jose Mourinho's case in Roma. According to the article, Mourinho left Roma angry and feeling betrayed by the players. Is it even possible that players will intentionally lose matches because they want their coach out at the expense of their own careers? If this is true, why will the club management reprimand the coach and not the players? I know some people will argue that the coach is the leader of the team and should be responsible for building the unity and love the team need to play in high morale, but in a case the players happen to have hated the coach and have decided to lose matches as punishment for their coach, is it right to fire the coach?

Whenever you see that a new coach has been signed, you should know that there is a contract and that contract is full of conditions that must be fulfilled if the coach want to remain in that club. Some contract can come with having at least a domestic league trophy to be able to remain in a club, winning atleast Champions league for the club within two season of your contract, winning other top Europa League trophies and many more, so don't get caught by the drama between clubs and players or coach in particular when you see they have been sack or relieved from their jobs.

Mourinho is a legend with many trophies won for many clubs but since he joined Roma in 2021, he hasn't win anything for that club and it might be the reason why the club was upset and sack him. It might also be possible that his was about to be sent off but because of his performance last season, he was given another chance this season and after they see no green light, they fired him immediately, these are just my theory, there could be more than what is not release to the public.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: February 09, 2024, 06:16:25 PM
Guys, do you often feel like me? when I raise the bet I lose and when I lower the bet I win. Does the casino system/algorithm know the betting patterns we make? So often when we bet big we are given a loss and when our bet is small we actually win, which is very annoying

I don't know if this applies to all games or not, but I feel like this often when playing table games. What do you think?

Perhaps that day wasn't your lucky day but how do you bet? Let's start from there. Are you into sporting games or you are into normal casino games? If you are into sporting games, I think you might not be doing something right, it's either you are not doing what you are doing on smaller amount or you don't think the way you think when you play with small amount of money. However, if what you play is casino games, then it has something to do with your format and the kind of game you play.

Instead of testing different amount, why not use a definite amount and stick to it, you will know if there is an algorithm or not and if it's your own mistake. By the way, I hope you know that thee is no consisteny win in gambling because of the entropy designed casino, if result were to be the same, it will not favour casino when you win in a row and it will not favor you when you continue to loss to the casino, each party will feel cheated but just to be satisfactory with your doubt, do as I say, use average amount you can afford to lose.
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 09, 2024, 04:54:26 PM
The defeat suffered by Liverpool is one of the reasons they finally have to be close to Manchester City with only 2 points difference, and not only that because Manchester City itself still has 1 match that has not been played, if Manchester City win then we can be sure they will be at the top of the standings with a 1 point lead.
In recent seasons, the competition between Manchester City and Liverpool has always been presented very interesting. Not only that, their competition will definitely include the coach who is the tactician of the club, Pep and Klopp. Now Klopp will leave Liverpool and Pep will lose his competitor who has been a rival for him.
If Klopp has left will there be a coach who will be able to become a competitor for Pep again?

Everyday can't be Christmas you know, there is no way you will play one of the most toughest league in the history of football and win the title without not having loss, I haven't heard of the season. Liverpool tried to be honest, the season is half journey with 23 of 38 has been played and they only have 2 losses, the rest were win and draw. Even Manchester City we are looking forward to win the league has 3 quite long ago and Liverpool just had one after facing Arsenal, we have more weeks to confirm if they are going to succeed in number or not.

As for Manchester City, they have hope because their time line matches looks like what they can trash without feeling any remorseful. Arsenal looks good on the inside but my problem is they might disappoint in the continuation. The last few games before the one they play with Liverpool were course, many errors and mistake even low team scored them that's why I'm not confident in them winning this trophy, the same thing they did last season.
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 09, 2024, 04:33:05 PM
How do you guys manage to take a break in gambling? I’m not asking for advice but rather I’m just interested to know what you are doing on your own or if you really do a break.

I recently decided to take a break since I want to hold my crypto due to its increasing value and I don’t to spend it while it’s giving me passive profit. I just claiming bonus now or anything that is free to still enjoy gambling without risking my money.

What is the instances that makes you take a break in gambling?

The time I take break the most is when most of leagues are in breaks, leagues like Champions League, Premier league, Seia A and many other domestic leagues. When this leagues are on break and you force yourself to gamble, you will only meet more than you bargain for because you will always make nothing, your loses will he more than your profits. In that period of 2 months off, I also stay clear from gambling and it this period is always about transfer market, nothing serious do happen except for international cups.

Another instances where I do take break is when I have more losses, there is nothing palatable in gambling when you literally make nothing and it's painful. Instead of eating the money, it's better it sleep and do nothing then make another pattern to win. Nature, it's even better to take rest and watch movies or do other activities than continue betting, it affect the human body psychologically but when you rest, it gives you more free space to think and restratigize about your gambling instincts.
360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: February 09, 2024, 04:13:27 PM
Madrid at this point is doing so well that the absence of a pure striker isn't felt at all so even if they eventually don't get one before the transfer windows are closed I'm sure it will still not affect how well they will perform but then it will become a problem when they meet teams like Manchester city who has got every of their side of their team fixed.

Real Madrid are more focus on getting another winger than waiting to have another striker. There focus is on Mbape and from the look of things, they will have to play the remaining month of the season without anyone because it doesn't look like they are even searching for one. Anceloti knows how to manage this players very well, if they could leave the group stage as one of the team with top point, I think they can further this way with the rest of the matches.

Quote
Manchester city is having a complete squad and a very good form such that I don't want to really place them as second or first but I know they are one of the favourite and will want to defend the title as the champions from last season but then I don't think Madrid will let such happen as they are also trying to make sure to utilize every opportunity to winning the trophy and they are both having equal Chance at the moment so ranking them now may turn out to possible disappointment later.

If there is any team that is complete with everything, I will give it to Manchester City, the rest of the injured players are all back and back in perfect timing, what they need to do now is to make sure they don't have any future injuries again because Kevin De Bruyne doesn't look to stable yet but his performance has been overwhelming. They are among the team I think can win the Champions League without any form of doubt, they have all the ingredients needed to kick start the from the knockout stage.
