341  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ‘Died’ 90 Times In 2018 on: December 26, 2018, 10:01:19 AM
if you buy a small amount of bitcoin each time the media talks about bitcoin's death and store it away then you would be a millionaire by now even at this low price let alone at the high price that we will hit during the next rally's ATH/
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With a booming on 2017 and difficult time on 2018, will Bitcoin recover on 2019? on: December 26, 2018, 09:32:46 AM
with bitcoin there is only so much down you can go before you have no other option as to reverse back up and rise. and we have been at that point for reversal for a while now.
it is only a matter of time and some more accumulation before the rise begins. it can start at any time too but if we see some sort of ignition then it can shoot up suddenly.
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If most politicians know nothing about Bitcoin then how will they regulate it? on: December 26, 2018, 09:14:27 AM
that is not a bitcoin problem though. it is the problem with the government and regulations and basically how they work. so there is nothing we can do about it in order to change that.
in fact that is one of the reasons why bitcoin was created in first place. so that we no longer need to worry about these things and how the "government" is going to dictate how we use our money.
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Private secret inflationary premine on: December 25, 2018, 10:19:12 AM
this may sound like a statement in bad taste but after reading this news that is all i can think of:
this sounds like saying  "eww, this pile of shit has a hair in it!"

a useless forkcoin which has always been obviously a shitcoin is bound to have things like this in it. a premine is nothing. they just copied bitcoin and simply mixed it with other coins and created a worthless token out of good projects! who cares if there was a premine it it or not Cheesy
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever been a restaurant server? Lets create a coin called T.I.P.S !!!! on: December 25, 2018, 10:12:59 AM
ideas like this will never work. simply because you are asking for a coin with only one use case and to acquire that coin one would have to go through a conversion (exchange) that will cost them money and also they would have to carry around an additional tool (wallet) so that they are capable of using that token!!!

people simply will never go for it. not to mention that they may even tip less because now they have to cover the exchange fees that they paid! not to mention the volatile price of any token that is out of your control, you may get tipped $10 and the price may fall down to $5 by the end of the day.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The rise and fall of stablecoins on: December 25, 2018, 09:58:45 AM
I'm pretty bullish on stablecoins in general  Cheesy
Bullish on stable coins?

It's price remains $1 or if it fluctuates its around $0.99. Are you serious or trolling?

i have seen many others who made similar remarks about stablecoins. and i still don't get what they mean by it!
at first i though it is some sort of investment in their business like fundraising to publish the stable coin but i found out that is not the case and i still can't think of any other reason why people would say that.
i even saw someone who said he was "investing in them to make profit"!!!!
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I've just put ALL my student savings into TURTLECOIN ($50K) on: December 25, 2018, 09:48:52 AM
it is funny that a couple of days ago i saw another topic that someone else started saying that he started with the same amount as OP ($50k) and that was his whole savings and now he only owned about $4500 of that initial amount meaning he lost more than 90% of it!

the problem is that newbies jump in with their heads first and hit it at the bottom of the pool because they have no idea how to swim the waters.

i can't tell if OP is just advertising some shitcoin or if he actually done the crazy thing and invested all his money. but if this is not a joke then i see in his future a big 90% loss like that other dude...
348  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Market Added $45 Billion in 10 Days, is Bitcoin Close to a Bottom? on: December 25, 2018, 09:30:56 AM
The reason why it rose so much and so fast is due to all the shorts covering their positions. You need to keep in mind that there was tons of money made shorting BTC when it broke $6000. And I imagine many people shorted when the $5500 didn't hold either and same with the $4000 not holding.

Hence  the reason why when BTC goes up, it usually goes up by spiking because people's stop-loss, margin call, take-profit, trailing stops are executed and when it dumps, its usually not as severe (except today).

I still think there is more upside but the $6000 is going to be a really tough hurdle to close above, since there are many trapped traders in that area.

or in addition it can simply be because a large number of investors are still waiting around with their money ready to be invested in bitcoin and they are desperately waiting for any kind of signal that can assure them about the end of whale dumps so that they can make their entrance without having to worry about more whale manipulation of the price!
349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOINRumor: Bitmain to fire 50% staff amidst the bitcoin bear market on: December 25, 2018, 09:20:53 AM
It's bound to happen given that the blow on the cryptomarket is insanely harsh.
I believe that it would have been the better decision for Bitmain not to have made the attack on Bitcoin through the hard fork, and the creation of Bitcoin Cash. It costed them dearly.

Plus the "harsh" market would have impacted them less if they held everything they had in Bitcoin.

Or rather, fiat money. A business of that scale with huge fiat overheads shouldn't be speculating as heavily on cryptocurrencies as they were. In particular, they became increasingly reliant on the success of Bitcoin Cash even as they promoted one side of a contentious hard fork.

They've also been making risky business moves like this to undercut competition at the cost of their own profits. That may be backfiring now.

i think everything is mostly speculation and drama at this point regarding bitmain but i doubt that they are relying on the success of bitcoin cash, BCH is just a byproduct that added to their money making techniques and lets not forget that it also "created" demand for their ASICs as it literary opened up another way that people could use their hardware to make money so they bought it to mine BCH.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The ICOs must be followed by us on: December 25, 2018, 09:11:54 AM
from my perspective you are simply listing the useless tokens you are bag holding and want to make profit from their possible pumps, and nothing more.

in your topic you shouldn't just list the names and links of these tokens. you should explain WHY you think they are adding something to the world that makes them worth following.
for example explain to us what this the token #2 (BubbleTone) did after being around for nearly a year? show us the "mobile network operators, phone users and service providers" that are using this token to interact? if you fail to show it that means they are useless
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use bitcoin? on: December 25, 2018, 09:03:47 AM
unfortunately i use bitcoin mostly as an investment. because as much as i like using it as a day to day currency but it is a hard thing to do because of its volatile price, lack of widespread merchant adoption and sometimes the higher fees.
which is why for the time being i am only focusing on buying more and more of it so that i own a considerable amount of bitcoin in a couple of years of accumulating it and be able to refer to myself as rich and then start using bitcoin as a currency and by that time the adoption will have been grown a lot too.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [repeat] I AM HODLING on: December 25, 2018, 08:56:12 AM
Same goes for me we've seen huge gains in 2017 so it's normal for bitcoin and altcoin price to decline this year as some of the people are cashing out of their investment when they've invested in the dips. So when you see crypto price, crashing dont panic instead do some cost averaging and put little money on crypto's to invest at a lower price.

you should only invest in things that have potential during their drops not everything. so when you say "crypto" you are misleading people into thinking that every crash of every altcoin is also a good time to buy that coin which obviously is not. many of them will never go back up from their crashes in 2018 specially the ICO tokens.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Russians might be permitted to invest in ICOs, what do you think about it? on: December 22, 2018, 10:08:56 AM
ICO market is an unregulated market and the investment is always done with cryptocurrencies (mostly it used to be ethereum) and they are also unregulated. so they can't actually "permit" anyone to invest in something that they don't control!

if some Russians chose to invest in ICOs and get scammed then they were already doing it.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spending and buying back cryptos drives the price back? on: December 22, 2018, 09:51:57 AM
no you can't say that because holding is a form of long term investment and if anything it doesn't do anything to the market and the price.

the only thing that you can say is that spending bitcoin will make it grow more because it will help with the adoption so it increases the popularity and demand and since bitcoin already has a limited supply the price will go higher and higher.
355  Economy / Speculation / Re: A big advice on how to invest with BTC on: December 22, 2018, 09:40:11 AM
although this is a very good suggestion but your title doesn't make sense because it is not about "how to invest" but you are talking about what to do AFTER they've invested.

and i have to add that it is always best to test things before getting in big time. you can simply buy a small amount and send it back and forth between your wallet and exchange to see how things work.
additionally there is test net which can be used to create a wallet get some free 0-value coins and learn how wallets work.
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People with most bitcoins should be in their 20's by now on: December 22, 2018, 09:28:08 AM
Kids can only get so many by mining. Don't imagine too many teenagers have 10+ bitcoins without family help in getting them.

what is your point exactly?
if anybody wants they can come up with $30k and invest it in bitcoin. it is not really that big a deal in my opinion as long as they are willing to take the risks.
so if some young person owns above 10 bitcoin that simply means they were willing to take the risk and enter the high potential currency of the future in its early stages while others stood aside and watched.
357  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taxes on BTC trading profits? Do you like it? on: December 22, 2018, 09:12:05 AM
you can not find a single person in the whole world that likes paying taxes but majority of people are paying their taxes because that is the law and you don't do it because of your personal likings.
i don't see anything wrong with paying taxes on your profits that you gain from bitcoin although in some countries the percentages are outrageous and needs to be fixed.
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many speculators in the cryptospace? on: December 22, 2018, 09:05:45 AM
some people are just delusional in this market!

the problem is with the market itself too. the newbies enter it and then blindly invest in some shitcoin and earn a huge profit out of nowhere because of the pumps. (like 2017 shitcoin pumps) then they start to think as if they were experts and eventually convince themselves of it!
the result is everyone speculating with different weird predictions.
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying ripple coins worth it? on: December 16, 2018, 09:45:30 AM
the most important factor in altcoin market is timing. which means you only enter a coin when the time is right and the pump is coming. otherwise you will be definitely losing a lot of your money that you put in that shitcoin.

in case of ripple, right now is the worst time you can invest in it because it doesn't have any pumps anymore and instead it is having all kinds of dump going on.
360  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which Coins will be the top 10 on market cap in 2019? on: December 16, 2018, 09:31:43 AM
this list changes periodically and the coins in it are replaced by other new coins every year or two. it is only because the coins that enter the top 10 altcoins are always pump and dump coins that will eventually end up having their death spiral and go back down.
additionally every year someone comes up with a better plan to manipulate market capitalization with their premined supply (like etherum for last 2 years) and takes the top ranking places below bitcoin.
