Prototypes eh?  I'd say they built a few more than were strictly necessary for prototyping purposes.

Do you suppose customers' preorder funds paid for those?

They arent prototypes, DZ mistyped. Those are customer's paid for BF boards.

Yeah, sorry, my bad. Was excited too and got descriptions wrong.  Tongue

Fixed my OP.
363  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN]R17x: Black Arrow Prospero X-3 <DZMC Exclusive> $130 / 40GHS on: December 09, 2013, 02:04:24 AM
I like how you guys are expanding the services, any chance that you'll make a forum post going into greater detail about them? I know you already did one for the ATM, it would be cool to see what else you have cooking.

Thanks! Would love to.

I hope to have an overall listing sometime this week introducing Cypher Trust LLC: the brainchild of the DZ MC, Miner Hosting LLC, and Balanced Energy LLC. I do have caucasus-type laser engraved rare metal Bitcoins that will also be available shortly on our site.

That's my next immediate project/product listing this evening or tomorrow. Cheers!
364  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: A little help to decide if you want to do a groupbuy or not... on: December 09, 2013, 01:55:09 AM
As a Network Engineer and having built the biggest Miners Co-op on this forum with able partners (400+ members/customers, 32 GPUs operational, and about 56TH/s of hashrate ordered, as of today), here's some more free GB planning advice below.

Don't forget to include the costs of:

- UPS and Battery Backup for short outages
- Gas Generators (Optional) if you're ambitious enough to try to protect against longer outages
- Network costs (including dual network connections preferably 4G LTE as a backup, if possible)
- Electricity costs - a not unimpressive amount, depending on what you're running and where
- Cooling costs - Fans and optional Air Conditioning aren't free. A/C can sometimes let you overclock, but also drives up energy costs.
- Mining Pool costs and Management costs

All these costs add up and are not always properly accounted for by those trying to get into the Group Buys biz.

I also want to add: don't hesitate to *build* an able team. No woman or man is an island, and it's a *lot* of work to both sell, run, maintain, and troubleshoot ASIC miners, in volume.
365  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: List of all DyslexicZombei at-cost/below-cost Miners Cooperative Group Buys on: December 09, 2013, 01:47:09 AM
As of today:

- we're at 400+ co-op members and customers.
- we passed 55.8+ TH/s of ordered Nominal Hashrate!
- AFAIK: We appear to be the largest public Bitcoin Miners Cooperative in the world.

Thanks everyone!

367  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Black arrow prospero x-3 odds of delivering in time? on: December 09, 2013, 01:27:50 AM
My answer... 0.1%

But then again, I haven't been following BA very closely.  I do know that they have delivered FPGAs in the past.  But so did bASIC & BFL.  And we all remember how that turned out, right?

And their promised specs and price are just so far out of line with the rest of their legitimate competitors.  The big 3 of the second tier, HashFast, Cointerra and BlackArrow, got into a pissing match for preorder dollars and I think they all over-promised.  And I have a strong feeling that they will all under-deliver (specs and time) if they deliver at all.  Between the 2nd tier and 3rd tier (BitMine.ch, VMC, AMT) I think we'll have at least one or two "bASIC" situations.

Btw, this should have been a poll.

I think their odds are better than 0.1%, IMHO. But then again: I've been following them much closer than the average miner and our co-op is the exclusive GB sales outlet for x-3 Prosperos having previously helped them do a 3.3TH/s Bullet Run of Prospero prototypes based on Bitfury chips (instead of Minions) in Rounds 9-12.

Yes, this is still open. There are currently no limits on the stock for R17x.

R17x has been so successful, that our ordered hashrate has gone from 19.8 TH/s to 55.8 TH/s of nominal hashrate once this order and a couple of other mfg. orders were paid.

Thank you everyone! We've been so successful with our partnership with Miner Hosting LLC - and Balanced Energy LLC out of Texas - that we all founded a Co-operative Company recently with the DZ MC leaders to explore new opportunities!

This includes being able to:

- open a 2nd larger miner host facility in January (where these x-3 Prosperos will be located)
- sell and host LTC/ALT-coin rigs
- perform arbitrage ( https://twitter.com/Arbit_Rage )
- offer Bitcoin ATM services
- offer Oil for Bitcoin
- and - with the help of some of the best talent available on these forums - develop other neat cryptoventures!

Looking to diversify from virtual currencies to tangible items?

Bitcoin has helped bring together world experts in various fields. bobsag3 landed in Hong Kong last night.

He's meeting the owner of Black Arrow in about an hour, from the last update I received. We should have some new pics from the Black Arrow facility coming in shortly.

P.S. If you sent me a PM, sorry for the delay, my days are currently filled with biz planning, development, growing our team in our new pro arms of our crypto ventures, and meetings upon meetings. Catching up on forum PMs this weekend.

sorry for asking, not familiar with the wallet client yet

Hi mikenz,

Thanks and welcome aboard! I'll extend this welcome to the other new co-op members who have joined recently.

I'm not sure what you mean by "nr".

You should only send BTC for a payment from a wallet that you control. The reason is: if you don't send us your separate payout wallet address as a note in your order, we can only assume that you intend to have your miner payouts be sent to your original sending wallet address (a natural assumption, with no additional information included).

If you send it from a transmitter that mixes wallet addresses, for example, that sending address could be a temp. address that you wouldn't control!

If you're just catching up with this thread, and you didn't hear:

- bobsag3 is personally visiting Black Arrow to inspect their facilities in Hong Kong shortly, to meet their owners and staff, and to catch up on the latest with BA's Minion ASICs.

Just another DZ MC Exclusive: sending one of the GB Coordinators to the other side of the planet, to personally check up on our pre-order hardware in development.  Cheesy  Grin

This GB and the others have been so successful that we're opening a newer, larger miner hosting facility because we're close to maxing out our 1st Facility.  Tongue {First world problemos}

Mahalo to everyone that has helped contribute to the success of the DZ MC. These include:

-people making suggestions and asking questions that help clarify things
- experts that have volunteered their time because they appreciate the spirit of our democratic at cost or below cost fractional ownership model
- Forum members ordering miners with us in multiple rounds. The demand was such that we had to build a website on the fly.

Our ultra low cost GB shares have shaken up the GB forum, and helped prove that our model of operations and division of labor, can work well to help provide the world some of the best values around while giving them hands off access to world class experts in various fields.

So, from the entire DZ MC team: thank you once again for joining the co-operative, and for being patient with us thru our growing pains. We definitely wouldn't have started a pro arm of our crypto activities if it wasn't for the success that we found here.
378  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: buying hardware seems so complicated on: December 05, 2013, 05:48:00 AM
Huh

As someone who is moving up from BE's to something bigger, I am finding it semi-frustrating in getting equipment that I can still at least afford.

I would LOVE to get one, maybe two, of the Prospero X1, (which just noticed price went up), but I would have to buy 10 minimum and come to find out, they do not allow group buys. :/

So how is someone supposed to get in with out a large sum of money....

I've even though of doing a indiegogo. :p

Hi,

I may have a solution. I'm one of the premier win/win deal makers on the entire forum.  Grin

They don't do Group Buys, but since we've proven that we're not GB Coordinators that will run off with the collected funds (see Rounds 13 & 14) and that we can insulate Black Arrow from having to deal with customers (a big resource drain for a lean mfg.), we have an exclusive agreement with their US reseller, bobsag3, to perform Exclusive GBs for their Prospero x-3 rigs.

Pricing for these late February Bitcoin miners with Black Arrow as a GB in R17x is very competitive, IMO. Just click the link in my sig if you're interested in finding out more.

Cheers,
DZ

I am looking in to your group now, thanks for the heads up!  I'll be in touch!

BTW-  I am not a huge investor.  But I got in a serious car accident 7 months ago, and I have a substantial settlement coming which will be invested in cryptos.   I am still a few months out on the final settlement though.

I'm sorry to hear about your car accident and permanent injury. Please send me a PM if/when I can be of assistance with this.

Regards,
DZ

Nice work James. I'm glad to see the progress that you've made compared to Version 1.0. Smiley

Just continue to keep it nice and simple, and you should do well.

Also: just a suggestion, but don't forget to include the link to my orig. vetting statement in your OP, or a quote of it.

Cheers!
