741  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Blue Fury USB Miner, 0.90 or less per unit (Dabs) Philippines/Asia on: October 14, 2013, 09:20:07 PM
Hello all,

I'd like to report that Dabs has passed my Vetting process for Group Buy Coordinators! To the best of my knowledge, my vetting process is the most stringent and in-depth vetting process available on the Bitcoin Talk Forums.

While I am not an ID expert, I've worked in Professional Information Security for well over a decade. He has sent me multiple photo IDs, a picture of him holding said IDs, and social media links which seem to confirm that he appears to be a well intentioned Group Buy Coordinator, who also appears to have his real name and address on record with a forum vetting agent.

I honestly didn't think Dabs needed this free vetting service since he's a veteran Coordinator - this service is more for new GBCs - but he willingly offered to undergo this free, but thorough, vetting process which helps to reduce scams in our international Group Buy community. I'd PGP sign this statement today but my main PC with PGP software/keys is awaiting a PSU replacement.

Please PM me for any questions regarding the validity of the vetting of anyone who claims to have passed my stringent vetting process for GBCs and/or ASIC miner hosts.

Mahalo!

742  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED]R3/R4: Extended HF FLASH SALE PRICING! 2 HF Sierras, At-Cost+Host, PAID on: October 14, 2013, 08:42:27 PM
If you've been away from the GB forum, when you get caught up on R3/R4 updates, if you're in Round 3 please leave your thoughts below regarding:

- either selling excess chips/chip modules we can't use (due to MPP kicking in) OR
- Buying/building bare rigs to house HashFast Golden Nonce modules

Option 2 requires us to have to think ahead and secure hardware before MPP chips ship, and possibly have to do an at-cost R3B fundraising round to secure more hardware for more hashrate from our excess MPP chips/chip modules.
743  Bitcoin / Group buys / [OPEN, 10/100 avail]R7: Bitmine Rig, 800GH/s, At-cost + Host, $70= 8-12GH/s +UPS on: October 14, 2013, 08:25:17 PM
How will this hash rate compare to Round 6?

/Frank

Hey Frank,

HashRate per share is rated at 1/100th of 800GH/s for this Round 7/8 vs. 500-550GH/s for the R5/R6 KnC Jupiter. DZ MC Jupiter below-cost shares went for $78 for 4-6GH/s albeit at an earlier delivery date.

However, the Bitmine Rig has a native turbo mode (speed unknown), and we'll seek to go even fast then this, if we can push the limits safely without risking our hardware. Thanks to the work of 4 co-op GBCs teaming up (and with the help of a college full of engineers helping bobsag3 out next door), the DZ MC is having a specially built A/C cooled cabinet within an already cooled facility, so that we can push hashrate & improve our chances of finding blocks.

==

With that said: 10 shares available.

1 more hour before payment. I thought the deadline for free shipping was last night but its in about 90 minutes.

==

Semi-OT: but I've vetted a 9th GB Coordinator and/or ASIC miner host! This is the first GBC I've vetted from Asia.

He's already an active GBC with a successful track record, but he contacted me for my free vetting services. If he so chooses, he's now also free to team up with our co-op's 5 GBCs (so far) to pre-reserve chunks of future ASIC miners to help bring low costs and the best values to Group Buyers.
744  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED]R3/R4: Extended HF FLASH SALE PRICING! 2 HF Sierras, At-Cost+Host, PAID on: October 14, 2013, 08:17:17 PM
Here's a HashFast update for those wondering how R3/R4 was going. This was in response to a co-op members PM questions. If the PM info is applicable to the whole co-op involved w/ R3/R4 then I tend to copy/past relevant sections (while preserving anonymity) to the relevant Round thread(s).

==

I talked to Cara at HF on the phone about 8 or 9 days ago. That was my 2nd call w/ her WRT co-op GB details. She said everything's on track. The fact that they made tapeout on schedule last month is a good sign. At least we know they seem to have gotten past the most critical part(s) of the chip fabrication process from what I've read between the lines.

The fact that Cointerra hasn't said anything about tapeout yet 1 week past their deadline, is not a good sign IMO.

If all goes well, we should be hashing in the first week of November. We paid a premium for the "insurance of the MPP" in R3, and it looks like this premium is on track to pay off with the difficulty rising so quickly.

One good thing is that since we have *two* Sierras and since it looks likely that they'll have to ship chips (or chip modules) due to the MPP kicking in, we should be able to fit at least 2 more GN modules (1 in ea. chassis) to bump up our Sierras total nominal hashrate from 1.2TH/s to 2TH/s, without the need for additional hardware.

If they ship more chips then 2 GN chips due to MPP kicking in, which is likely: we have to decide as a group whether to try to sell any extra chips or build/buy a rig that can be populated with GN modules.

==

For Batch 1, they're supposed to hand carry them on a flight for the fastest delivery and to not have to deal with customs issues. They're doing final fabrication in Canada for faster assembly.

Paused for now.

Late R7 payments will be shifted to this round. This may include ebay payments which require sending a tracked letter w/ signature confirmation.

R8 is paused for now, but I'm positive it will open up shortly or a few days.
746  Bitcoin / Group buys / [OPEN,28/100 avail]: Bitmine Rig, 800GH/s, At-cost + Host, $70= 8-12GH/s +UPS on: October 14, 2013, 01:37:55 AM
Ok, you're leading our merry bunch for this Round.

You heard the man.  Smiley

28 shares available.

Payment *will* be sent tonight to secure Free Shipping.

If/when people show up, they'll be shifted to R8 which is going to be shipped at the same time and exists on the same chassis anyway.
747  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN, 28/100 avail]R7: Bitmine Rig, 800GH/s, At-cost + Host, $70= 8-12GH/s +UPS on: October 14, 2013, 01:32:17 AM

On (un)related note. Would any of fellow Co-Op members be willing to sell a share (or a fraction of) in R4 and R5/R6?
It is a collectors' thing :-)

Hey, we're sold out!

I love waking up to sold out Group Buys in the Co-op.  Grin

I saw it coming... Cheesy

Oh no! Are you doing a DZ MC Boxed Set too?  Cheesy

J/K: thank you for the compliment! An internet toast, my man. (We really need a beer toast emoticon here)
For myself, I oversold on R4 and somehow ended up losing my own Boxed Set in my own co-op the oversales.

==

BTW: payment is being sent in today for whatever is in the R7 wallet. If we don't have the full amount, we'll hopefully have enough for at least 500GH/s to secure Free Shipping before the promo ends tonight in about 8.5 hours. Thomas or I will follow up with a PM and email to adjust our order to secure the Free Shipping.

Saving money with free shipping saves us about $2.20 per share.
748  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: No mining hardware is worth buying on: October 13, 2013, 08:38:00 PM
Have actually checked Cex.io also. They do have decent gigash/$ prices but you'd still lose. Not as much as pre-ordering some November 500giga ASICs, but you'd still lose nonetheless.

Just enter all the numbers here http://www.coinish.com/calc/# in expert mode. At 0.1850/gigahash, you'd still make a loss even with zero electricity costs. Price of hashrate is going down so in 12 months time what now costs 0.18xbt might be worthless so resell value is also questionable, though I have to say seems better deal than buying ASICs and have them delivered to your home.

cex.io beats every preorder because you get GHs mining for you *now*, which is the most important thing when you look at constant difficulty increases before you get your preorder delivered. Another thing going in cex.io favor is that you can easily sell GHs and get the most cost of it back, which may not be true for in-hand hardware.

How's that working out for you guys? I'm curious about this but haven't been curious enough to dabble in Bitfury specific GH trading/instant buying.

What are the price premiums like compared to pre-order deals?  Thanks in advance!

==

BTW, I specialize in helping out the little guys and newbies. I'm not here to help people that can buy top of the line miners by themselves or people just holding BTC; just the ones that still want to buy portions of ASIC hardware at the cheapest possible prices. Some people still want to protect the BTC network, even if they take a slight loss or ROI isn't certain, and I hope to give them a scam free/high value sales outlet to at least explore mining at fractional risk.

If someone only has $70 to spend on ASIC hardware, I'd like to think that if they're dead set on trying out mining, my at-cost (and sometimes below-cost) GB shares are going to give them much more equivalent hashrate (+ UPS backup) then the equivalent number of USB thumbs...as long as they have the patience to wait a little while.

I hold BTC myself but it's a bit boring, so I do allocate a big chunk of my BTC investments into what I see are the strongest ASIC pre-order deals across the industry, at the best values I can get for our Democratic at-cost Miners Cooperative.
749  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN, 100/100 avail]R8: Bitmine Rig, 800GH/s, At-cost +Host, $70= 8-12GH/s +UPS on: October 13, 2013, 08:05:22 PM
First time I added a product to my own co-op's site.  Tongue  Cheesy

I did it all by myself... Well, me and Control C+Control V...and the site Thomas built, hosted, and patiently taught me to use. Other then that: all by myself.

Site is open for Round 8 ordering now. Cheers!

BTC Option (least expensive form of payment): www.dzminercoop.com

=====

If you or someone you know only have PayPal funds available, there's still a PayPal at-cost option available via my wife's eBay acct. where I'm her co-seller/buyer for eBay IT related items: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=131018101196

Of course, this option is more convenient but it's more expensive, as it includes at-cost eBay + at-cost shipping fees that aren't incurred through our site.
750  Bitcoin / Group buys / Round 8 Payment Details on: October 13, 2013, 06:05:32 PM
Round 8 Payment Details (Similar to R7-R10, for the most part)

========================================================================

BTC Payments will be directed to thomas_s via our site for R8 but I will have co-admin to this wallet for auditing or for payments if we're in a rush. We've worked together on 8 different Group Buys with great success including 2 of the fastest GB sellouts in the forum's history for Industrial class Rigs.

For US Customers: for a 3%  fee for USD conversion to BTC, we recommend: www.cashintocoins.com a FinCen compliant USB who can get BTC sent to the wallet address you want in as little as 15 minutes to an hour.

For Intl. Customers: We are still exploring suggestions for inexpensive BTC conversion but I can recommend www.bitstamp.net at this time as that's the exchange rate used by our payment processor.

DZ MC R8 Product Link: http://www.dzminercoop.com/?product=r8-bitmine-rig

PayPal payments (UPDATE): If payment is being made by Paypal place an order on the site and place a note on the order when you place it saying you're paying by paypal...then give whoever you are buying BTC from the order # and the payment address. Please make sure to send it as a gift to "friends and family." This helps keep your share prices as low as possible (no PP fees) and well as protects us against illegal chargebacks after BTC deposits have already been paid out in November. Sorry, this is no longer available. This payment method is "sold out."

If there's any concerns about registering your payment, please follow up with a PM to Thomas or a support ticket. There's two methods to resolve this:

A. Send a support ticket on our website www.dzminercoop.com

OR

B: PM to thomas_s on this site

Subject: DZ HF GB R8, x shares, x BTC
Details: Please include Tx ID, your wallet address for payout, and any concerns you may have about your transaction(s)

==

thomas_s -  Primary GBC for Rounds 5-10. Co-GBC during R3-R7. R2 member. Send BTC payments and questions for R7 to thomas_s . Set up Online Auto Reservations for the co-op! Thank you! PM CC -Redacted- and thomas_s please.

DZ - Need escrowed Group Buy shares? For a 2% extra fee you get 3rd party fund holding, dispute resolution, and $500 insurance per transaction at BTCrow. [DISCLAIMER: I, DyslexicZombei, am an approved Escrow Affiliate at BTCrow.] Please PM Carbon Copy thomas_s please prior to escrow payment.

NEW! 10/18 UPDATE from Thomas:

"Bobsag3 will be accepting wire transfers (for 20+ shares) and chase quick pay (any quantity of shares). and credit cards by Square https://squareup.com/market/miner-hosting-llc/share-r-bitfury-gh-s-min-ups-backup

Thomas_s will be accepting TD bank and CitiBank (USA) checks (any quantity of shares). At this time no other banks checks are being accepted. EDIT: Sorry, only available for Round 8. My mistake.

*These payment options are only available for Rounds that don't need BTC conversions. (At the moment the only open Round(s) is/are 10)

I've also located the reason for the zombie rounds...apparently there is a bug in the site where it reduces the stock when the order is placed and when it is paid.

The updates on the forum were going by what the site displayed which was effectively doubling what was actually sold so that's where those shares magically popped up from
"

===

Thomas is handling questions and collecting payments for R8 via our site (unless you require Escrow, in which case you can PM me). He set up the automated reservation site and the GB with my input. Great work Thomas, and it's definitely an improvement over me trying to keep up w/ an avalanche of PMs and payments.  Tongue

I will still handle or assist in:

- Ordering
- Shipping details
- (Optional) Escrowed GB shares for those that insist on Escrow Protection from a 3rd party for: holding BTC funds, post-sales dispute resolution, $500 insurance per transaction at 2% extra cost to share price. Semi-automated Escrow is done thru BTCrow.
- Remote miner setup
- Remote troubleshooting/
- Incremental overclocking
- Payouts or assist in payouts
- Auditing hashrate vis-a-vis payouts
- Dispute resolution and arbitration, if necessary. [Should be rare as we're all adults that don't need to yell. Tongue]

Refunds: If we can't raise the funds to buy the full 800GH/s, we'll just order smaller modules with less hashrate. Refunds are discouraged because of the chaos caused in Group Buys, but if necessary, you will be refunded before the miner ships, at a 1.5% restock fee. After the miner ships, no refunds are available.

By sending payment, you agree to these Refund terms before purchase.

Dec. update: This is CLOSED.

Sorry about any confusion. Also, if you didn't hear, December orders slipped to January but January orders supposedly haven't been affected.

==

November 3 update: This R8B GB is still open! The share price is back up to $70. You can get a refund if you want or you can just hang out until we get enough BTC for another module. This is currently the only DZ MC GB being run at this time.

FLASH UPDATE, 10/16, 10:45 PM HST: I'm in a Skype conversation with Giorgio from Bitmine in another window. He's confirming a NEW Halloween Sale: 15% off Regular Prices! Therefore prices have been reduced for our at-cost R8 GB share prices by 15%! The new R8 share price has been reduced from $70 to $60!

This is the first Public Notice of this Promotion, since I tend to have discussions with various ASIC manufacturers when these kinds of things come up.  Grin

10/28 update: Bitmine Rig Rounds 7 and 8 are now CLOSED and PAID. You can still buy shares in this rig in R8B, however.  Grin

Back by popular demand! How am I supposed to keep the shelves stocked if you guys/girls keep buying everything?  Cheesy  Wink

Re-introducing Bitmine to the DZ MC! We almost bought a BM Rig for R2 until we received a Day 1 HF buyout offer we couldn't refuse.
Round 7 is the host Bitmine Rig for Round 8 and this new Round 8B Round which maxes out at 600GH/s nominal hashrate.

* If we fail to sell enough shares before Oct. 31 to secure 15% off pricing for at least one expansion module, then all R8B buyers will be refunded with no restock fee.

Target machine is a Bitmine Rig: https://bitmine.ch/?product=coincraft-rig

10/28, Round 8B update:

Target hashrate for Round 8B is 600GH/s with 75 shares issued. This is the *nominal* hashrate. We're running this in Turbo mode and possibly Super.Turbo mode since we'll have our Cooperative's miners in an extra cold, enclosed A/C cooled cabinet built by bobsag3 and other engineers at his pro colo facility. Turbo Hashrate is officially listed at about 850GH/s.

At-cost Share price is: $70 $60 for 8-13 10-15 GH/s, est. delivery late December/early January.
Hosting/Management fees are applied during payouts every 2 weeks, and are the world's lowest professional hosting/management fees at only 2.75%

Your share includes an estimated 20 minutes of power protection built into the at-cost share price. Power protection from outages, sags, and spikes come from an APC UPS with Battery Bank to keep the BTC flowing during short power outages.

This R8 Bitmine Rig is in the Bitmine reservation queue with a downpayment already sent: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll87/SurfSkateKauai/DZMinersCooperative-Bitmine800GHs-Round7.png

These R8 upgrade modules will ship at the exact same time as the R7 Bitmine Rig.

Good to add diversity to our co-op's miner portfolio.

Ebay link working for me
Hopefully we can get free shipping.

Thanks Etienne!

I hope so too. Since it's my job to think ahead and to think of contingency plans: There is a plan B we can attempt as a "Hail Mary Pass" (American Football reference) but I'd rather not go that route or go into details quite yet. It would salvage securing free shipping if we go with this plan B.

Where are you located?

I am located in Spain.

That means around 21% in vat of the value that HF declares and more fees for handeling the customs. Just thinking about the price makes my wallet cry   Undecided

Ouch, gotcha.

Have you considered other hosting options in US? I think there was a Group Buy organizer offering up hosting services.
The GB man would be Mr Zombie, with me as the host

I mostly take a back seat to Group Buys nowadays (more of a head cheerleader), with thomas_s leading the charge for new GB Rounds, but yes, I do help others with vetted miner host matchmaking.

bobsag3 has been double vetted by myself and John K, and is offering the world's lowest professional insured hosting prices at 2.75% per 2 week payout. He's also done a number of impressive upgrades to his professional colocation hosting facility specially designed with my input and with ASIC miners in mind.

After talking things over with Thomas and comparing notes, we're reopening this Round 7.

30 shares available!

TL;DR: $70 = 8-12GH/s, includes an estimated 20 minutes UPS/Battery backup + the world's lowest hosting fees during this limited time introductory period: 2.75% hosting/management fees + incremental overclocking with careful monitoring of hardware temps and error rates.

35 shares in soft reserve (including 20 with bobsag3).

BTW, I'm not against a Cointerra GB, if for example, someone had a good chunk of the funds and if they were interested in being vetted by me to be a GB Coordinator,OR if they were willing to let thomas_s and I sell the Cointerra Group Buy *for* you, if you're not the type that is interested in trying to raise BTC for community purchases.

This is what happened for Round 3 in our at-cost Miners Cooperative, when I was approached by an R2 co-op member with an offer to buy half an MPP Sierra which fortunately coincided with the launch of the ASIC industry's first Flash Sale. Since we had already done the groundwork previously, we offered the GB forum the first access to Flash Sale pricing and sold out that at-cost $11.5K MPP Sierra miner + UPS/Battery combo in less then 12 hours, an unofficial GB forum record.

I've vetted 8 or more GBC and miner hosts on the GB forum so far, for free, as a community service and with the hope to do future business with these gentlemen.

Our co-op's modus operandi is at-cost or even below-cost shares (as is the case in R5/R6) because our co-op was founded on the principle of trying to make the very best market values available to the "little guy," as if that person had the exact same buying power of those with deep pockets. We truly cooperate to get things done, and we're truly hardware neutral as long as the company isn't BFL or Avalon (they're permabanned from our co-op).
