That sounds fair. Whenever someone wants to do a refund - say, during a family emergency - that could be the fastest way to have the shares sold.

Just please Carbon Copy PM me on any sales/transfers please so that there's no "he said, they said" controversy. Also, please include Tx IDs & feel free to custom sign the payment transaction if you want a transparent buyout.

I really don't want anyone to feel like they're being forced into extra payments, so please feel free to let other co-op members buy you out at-cost, with no hard feelings. Doubling hashrate for only 25% more makes a ton of sense but I understand if you'd like to back out.

==

Also, I heard from the seller that he saw the payment show up at BTCrow last night as "Received", and that he's contacted HashFast to authorize a shipping change, as well as to see if he can transfer the order outright.
922  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Miner Hosting LLC: Cheap and secure vetted host! on: September 27, 2013, 09:04:44 PM
John K. and I both vetted bobsag3. AFAIK, he's the only person on the forum to have been vetted by 2 different vetting agents.

Our co-op has 1 HashFast Baby Jet and 2 Sierras worth 2.8TH/s+ of hashrate, that are scheduled to be delivered to Bob in a little over a month for hosting.

Edit: Make that 3.6TH/s+ to be hosted at his location; Rounds 1 and 2 of our miner's cooperative Group Buys are both going going for the HashFast Batch 1 Baby Jet promo for $1.5K for 400-500GH/s.

You can see a few more pics of his host site - before they moved in - in my photo gallery in my sig.

Congrats team!

Looks like the whole community is pulling for you guys.

I love darkhorse entries!

Sorry, I haven't been following the thread. I have 2 shares in R1, how much do I need to send, where and by when please?

I still need to set up an R1 wallet so there's no confusion. Will get to that tonight.

We can use the existing R2 wallet to collect funds for the 100% upgrade at $43 per share w/ express shipping. I'll refund w/ no restock fee if we fail to collect enough (in about a month?) for the 25% additional cost to double our HashRate.
925  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TECHNOBIT's HEX16A in hand - first impressions on: September 27, 2013, 07:32:02 PM
Thanks for sharing! Now, I regret not buying when they were available.

Ah, well: 6 different pre-orders from 3 diff. mfgs. should be more than enough for now, right?
926  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED, PM 4 Backup Shares]R4:HF FLASH SALE PRICING thru FRI! At-Cost+Host on: September 27, 2013, 07:21:46 PM
Numbers update for what appears to be the last few shares that opened up but we're only offering to co-op members & people that contacted us that missed out.

2 R3 shares available, 1 R4 share available.

3 users already have first right of refusal on these shares. 2 of the users have been contacted & we're waiting to hear back from them.

BTW, Dabs nominated me to be an OurASIC treasurer: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=301073.msg3245010#msg3245010

Of course, I retaliated in kind.

I doubt they'll be able to get traction as community do gooders trying to develop an open source 28nm BTC ASIC chip, but I'm willing to be a treasurer if they can make some headway, appear to be legit, and have some protections in place for the community treasurers trying to help them out.
927  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Additional voting and major decisions for DZ Miner Cooperative, Round 1 gents on: September 27, 2013, 07:00:34 PM
I'll set up a wallet tonight for fundraising for the double hashrate upgrade, if you gents want to collect BTC for this.

With express shipping, it appears to be $43 per share, using bitstamp rate at time of your BTC purchase or transfer.

If we don't raise enough funds in, oh about a month?, I'll refund anyone that paid, with no restock fee.
928  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED]R2:HashFast FTW! + Host, $151.50/share w/ BTCrow,upgrade? on: September 27, 2013, 06:47:25 PM
As for voting: I have to go thru PMs but every one that left their input here and via PM has been unanimous in attempting the 100% Hashrate upgrade at 25% more.

===

Shall we begin collecting funds for the R1 & R2 upgrades? If so, we can begin collecting them in the R2 wallet we used.

I have ~.7 BTC there leftover I can apply to my portion of the R2 upgrade: 17a29H9BhUnaPZgZSdFifPndGxxWQXayuH

If we don't collect enough funds, somehow, I'll refund anyone that paid for the upgrade, at no restock fee. I'm not going to order the upgrade unless we have almost all the funds in hand, though.

I think I may have forgotten to vote, but I vote for more hash.

How much to send to the wallet?

Est. cost per share for upgrade: $43, using Bitstamp rate. I can transfer that from your R4 23 share refund if you'd like.

The wallet is so huge because of a double payment, a user never cc'd me on payment of shares which I believed they needed me to float.
First time ive heard of someone complaining about a "huge" wallet. Btw, I can chip in to help R5 when/if we do.

Yes, I'll need to doublecheck but thomas_s had floated 23 shares for another that were instead paid directly...which means:

We *may* have a few open shares in R3/R4 after everything has sorted out & people have stepped forward or back.

I won't list us as open & I need Thomas's help to confirm: but it's looking like Thomas will be refunded for 23 R4 shares and....

We *may*, emphasis on may, have 2 open shares available in R3 and 5 1 open shares available in R4. At this time: Only co-op members, those that have PMed me in the past for backup shares, & those stopping by the thread for the first time will likely know that there appears to be at-cost shares still available.  Wink

Please PM Thomas and I, if you'd like to soft reserve any of these shares at the at-cost prices discussed.
It's based on order of Q; based on who contacted us first w/ interest in available shares.

==

Backup Share Q list: Users d*****l, umdorado, and abullahadam. These 3 users have first right of refusal, in this order, to the 7   3 shares that appear to be available.

The first 2 members in the Backup Share Q have been contacted via PM as they were disappointed to miss out completely and wanted to know about future GBs. I've given them priority since they have no shares in R4 but were interested and had contacted me previously. Still confirming things w/ Thomas, but this double payment for 23 R4 share to Thomas requiring a refund + these 7 available shares appear to be the result of the avalanche of reservations, PMs, questions, and payment confirmations (including 1 double payment) we went thru this past week.
931  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED, PM 4 Backup Shares]R4:HF FLASH SALE PRICING thru FRI! At-Cost+Host on: September 27, 2013, 08:51:16 AM
Shares list for R3/R4 sent to Thomas to compare notes before publishing.

Should be published tomorrow evening.
932  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Nominate treasurers for OurAsic. on: September 27, 2013, 06:16:49 AM
Can I join? I've always wanted to do large escrows. I also nominate John K and DyslexicZombei.

Wow, Thanks Dabs!

Of course: I'm retaliating in kind.  Cheesy  Wink

If this motley band of do-gooders can actually get some traction I would accept a nomination. I made fun of them for vanishing by pulling the Kanye card, so it's only fair that I at least give them a shot if they really can get some momentum. I'm still doubtful but I'm open to being proven wrong by OurASIC.

If this really does goes anywhere: I nominate John K. and SebastianJu.

...and Dabs.  Grin
933  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED]R2:HashFast FTW! + Host, $151.50/share w/ BTCrow,upgrade? on: September 27, 2013, 06:03:39 AM
I had some initial concerns but Bob was able to help me understand his local situation much better. He says if there's an outage of longer than 20 minutes it will take hours to get power back online.

On the bright side: after checking, he says there hasn't been any outages for longer than 8 minutes in the last 7 years, and none in 2012.

In that case, since as far as fund-raising, we're an at-cost co-operative - or as close as possible without being a charity - so I'm in for this plan because:

1) HF chips seem to want to be massively cooled and will Overclock best in cold conditions unlike 55nm Bitfury chips, for example.

2) Even if we only get a 15% boost in Overclocking due to the frigid conditions, that would allow us to overclock a 1.2TH/s Sierra from:

say 1380GH/s with a 15% overclock to 1560GH/s for a 30% Overclock which could do wonders for our mining attempts.[/color]

3) HF is estimating their MPP of 2-4X extra hashrate shipped to customers based on stock hashrate ROI calculations.  Smiley

4) As long as we get to 20 min. est. battery backup (*with* overclocking because that draws extra power), I'm fine with using extra funds on extra A/C for the HF miners as long as the co-op is fine with this.

==

To the co-operative:Thoughts on the extra funds to be used for A/C?
934  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Logic of a Group Buy and Escrow Protection (for noobs) on: September 27, 2013, 04:44:24 AM
I just missed your run. I tried to contact you through ebay so i could get a hold of some Sierra shares. But, i guess sold already. Any upcoming GB's

Hi umdorado,

I'm sorry I missed you!

My wife usually mentions if an ebay msg. comes in via email notification, as that's her account & I just list things there for sale & buy electronics occasionally. She said she didn't get a notice, so that's odd.

Thomas (user: thomas_s ) will likely be leading the charge on the next round, Round 5, when he feels ready, or he's also free to branch off on his own and start his own thread. I'm taking a little break on GBs as I'm still getting caught up from selling 3 HashFast miners in about a week. You wouldn't believe how much work it is behind the scenes for these things.

I'm planning to do more of an assist role if he decides to team up again for a 3rd co-GB, so if you're interested in another round of at-cost HashFast shares, I'd send him a PM with your interest. I'd say the more PMs he receives in interest for a R5, the more likely he'd be to run one.  Wink

Edit: It's crazy to think I helped sell $30K worth of 4 HashFast miners in about 5 weeks since I wrote this; especially when I had never done GBs before in my life and now I can set up escrowed GBs for GB shares for new GBCs that need this service.  Grin

Cheers!

all good now! Smiley

Thank you! When you said OP I thought you were talking about the OP on Page 16 when I thought the 4 shares opened up since our wallet was short.

But obviously you meant the *other* OP.  Grin

Doh!

I changed the title thread but missed removing the top thread additional text.  Undecided

Please update the OP, it still says 4 shares left in bold red letters
thanks DZ

Sorry.

Done (well, at least w/ my posts; I won't delete people's posts in any of our co-op threads unless they're hurtful or trolling).

Thanks Adam! As always, everyone's input and help is appreciated and welcome.
938  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED]R2:HashFast FTW! + Host, $151.50/share w/ BTCrow,upgrade? on: September 26, 2013, 07:48:19 PM
Is there still 4 unpaid (avaiable) shares?

No, it was payments sent to the wrong wallet address that I thought were unpaid shares. I went thru the R2 shares/payments w/ a fine tooth comb & found the errors. 2.46BTC for R2 was sent to the R3/R4 wallet on purpose by -Redacted- in case shares opened up. I had also sent extra BTC there to help out which I moved back. Long & short: we're all paid up for R2-R4 and we're only awaiting 1 payment for 1 share in R4, for all GBs.

2 shares opened up which he had already pre-paid & it was immediately applied to our Buyout, which should take 1-3 days depending on HashFast getting back to the Seller; I know John's on travel so hopefully he'll authorize Cara to do the ownership and/or Shipping location change.

If the MPP kicks in, I may have to have the Order 616 seller mail us the extra chips at our cost.

==

As for open shares in the co-op: Thomas & I are taking backup reservations for R4 in case there's refunds anywhere in R1-R4 and someone would like to apply their R4 backup share reservation to R1-R3.

Refunds aren't fun from a GBC's POV, but sometimes stuff happens & people need to drop out (which is why a good GBC has some BTC on hand for instances like this; it's not expected you keep 100% of the sale on hand, but some reserve BTC is a good practice).
939  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED, PM 4 Backup Shares]R4:HF FLASH SALE PRICING thru FRI! At-Cost+Host on: September 26, 2013, 07:34:37 PM
So..... r5?
(I swear I didnt say anything)
I'm down with an r5 but gotta work some stuff out first.

For future co-op GBs I don't directly run, I suppose for a 0.5% management fee:

- I can handle setting up a DZ Miner Cooperative R5, Rx, etc., thread or threads under my username with the caveat that I'm definitely taking a backseat assist as the overall DZ Miner's Cooperative Coordinator
- Updates to top thread in GB to update latest share reservations and paid shares.
- Wallet collection in a wallet that's done over 200BTC of transfers on behalf of the co-op
- Contacts at HashFast including John S.'s work cell #, to get things done quickly
- Payment to the mfg. and shipping details arranged for the co-op (by majority vote if there's more than 1 vetted miner host contender making their host site available)
- Backup host sites in multiple US states
- Remote Administration and remote setup of the miner(s) or co-admin role
- Handing miner payout details to the GBC who collects the mined BTC for payouts but *supervising* and looking into things if there's any questions/concerns from co-op members.
- Dispute resolution within the co-op - which should hopefully be very, very rare thanks to the quality of the people that has been assembled.

Sound fair?

Thomas has gotten a close up look at how these Rig GBs run & I believe he's now ready to handle his own major Rig GB, having done 3 GBs under my tutelage (and prior GBs to that). He even has some ideas about hosting a site for the co-op that would have a chat room, if anyone would like to help him with this.

I may run future GBs but I'm def. taking a break to sort spreadsheets out, catch up on things around the house, & unwind a bit. Need to update numbers but I believe our co-op is about 40 members strong now.
940  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BitSyncom Im still waithing on batch 1 order how is that possible on: September 26, 2013, 07:19:25 PM
Bump.

Note Yifu said he was overwhelmed in late August. Well, it's been about a month & he still hasn't gotten to your refund?

I don't care if he's a two finger pecker as a typist, shirley he should've gotten to your Batch 1 refund by now!!!  Angry  Angry

Oh, that's right, you have to actually care about your customers in order to do the right thing.
