1161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [POLL] Sept. 2013 ASIC Miner Survey on: September 11, 2013, 12:42:56 AM
Are you asking about placing new preorders in September, or do you also count if I'm still waiting on preorders placed months ago?

We're just talking about September pre-orders for this poll; trying to capture how strong demand is from core buyers for pre-orders this month.

Looks like the biggest vote getter is people just watching and not committing to any new pre-orders at the moment. Bitfury pre-orders are currently the 2nd most popular option aside from not ordering.

For those interested, Historical data for relevant Network Difficulty chart: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmcTCtjBoRWUdHVRMHpqWUJValI1RlZiaEtCT1RrQmc#gid=0

Whoever is collecting and organizing this data: You're doing a great job whoever you are!

That Difficulty vs. Price column's great at identifying how mining difficulty compares to the price of BTC.
1163  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: LOL at this. on: September 10, 2013, 08:14:17 PM
Hahah, at least they put a lot more effort into their site and product images than ASX project did.

It's possible that the same apple bobbing sockcuckers behind ASX are responsible for this scam, ala ASX Project 2.0.

That's the same sort of sleazy vibe I'm getting from their site. I'm LMAO that there's supposedly two Caucasians working there but no one thought to have the two token white guys check the site text for editing purposes so it doesn't come off as someone that uses ESL. Uh-huh, suuuure buddy! I'm guessing tomorrow they're going to dig up a fake CEO somewhere.
1164  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [POLL] Sept. 2013 ASIC Miner Survey on: September 10, 2013, 07:05:09 PM
There's two cointerras. You missed KNC.

Fixed. Thanks guys!

Also added a multiple pre-order option besides KnC. Had them in there originally but forgot to replace the 2nd Cointerra. Sorry about that.
1165  Bitcoin / Hardware / [POLL] Sept. 2013 ASIC Miner Survey on: September 10, 2013, 05:48:13 PM
You have to vote to see the results.  Smiley

This is useful info for us, for manufacturers, and for Group Buy Coordinators & GB Share Buyers. I think demand has slowed for new ASIC hardware pre-orders from what I can currently see from the GB forum.

FWIW, here was last month's related poll: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=272565.0

Let me know if you'd like to see a mfg. added. I only listed the majors mfgs. with pre-orders pending (AM isn't taking regular pre-orders, which is why they're not listed).
1166  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 10, 2013, 08:26:16 AM
Does anyone else find this sad that this PSA is even necessary.  Embarrassed

Good job though lajz99.

OT: BTW, Bicknellski: had to take down the Barntech reservation thread. Barntech appreciated the offer of help but said it's too soon. He's open to working with me & the others but it's too preliminary to make reservations as far as his next project. Still got the HF/CT bare rig GB project going though and I already have some reservations for whoever steps up for that. Putting this here in case anyone else is wondering where that thread went, eheh; besides, OP ain't reading this thread anyhow.  Cheesy
1167  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED / GROUP BUY] HASHFAST(BATCH1) 1.55 BTC for 10GH, JOHN K. ESCROW, MAHALO! on: September 10, 2013, 07:39:26 AM
Congratulations firsttimeuser! Hope you will do a good job for us all! Grin
And thanks for DZ too

Thanks milkbottlec. That makes two of us!  Grin I'm sure he'll be fine. Once it's set up, the only time he'll need to get involved is if the durn thing doesn't remote restart.

trout: yup, I'm on the case. I'm already holding reservations for the first system builder / bare rig GBC that steps up.

Update: Cara called me this morning on my cell phone. She apologized profusely about the delay in resolution to our order. She didn't make any excuses about the delay. She confirmed that our place in the Q is secure. Here's the official invoice I received today: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll87/SurfSkateKauai/Order991-Complete.png

I copied John K. & firsttimeuser on the address change. Now all we have to do is wait. BTW, if you haven't heard, cypherdoc confirmed today that the Baby Jet can host *two* chips. It's also likely that they'll have to trigger the MPP. Hmm, how convenient. This 400-500GH/s unit could end up being 800-1000GH/s by year's end or so, at no additional charge.

Update: We're on the official order chain as ordered on 8/18, Order 991: https://hashfast.com/order-chain/  Smiley
1168  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: LOL at this. on: September 10, 2013, 04:48:19 AM
Holy crap! They saw me laughing at the lack of IDs & this is the best they could do!

Bwhahaha! They listed all these positions but forgot the most important one: Who's the supposed CEO of the SS Minnow here?

This is in Hong Kong but there's only two Chinese leads? Uh-huh. Awaiting the next scammer adjustment.
1169  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [NEW OPPORTUNITY - First Avail. Reserv.] Cointerra/Hashfast Bare Rig Group Buy on: September 10, 2013, 04:24:41 AM
Got another PM reservation for one or more HashFast bare rigs. Whoever organizes the first HF Bare Rig GB is already going to have a pool of customers with reservations right here.  Wink

The news gets even better! ...at least if you're a B1 customer.

"everyone, please pay attention:

"The Baby Jet motherboard has room for an additional GN chip.**"

this applies to the Batch 1 units as well.
" - cypherdoc https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270363.msg3117974#msg3117974

Looks like all those B1 units can do 800-1000GH/s once you get that second chip.
1170  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [NEW OPPORTUNITY - First Avail. Reserv.] Cointerra/Hashfast Bare Rig Group Buy on: September 10, 2013, 03:59:37 AM
Guys, I just talked to Barntech. He says it's too early to make reservations for his next project. Sorry, if there was confusion. Don't worry though, he's hard at work on his next project.

However, this is *still* the place to make reservations for your a bare rig for Cointerra or Hashfast bare rigs.

As for Avalon or BFL, I refuse to deal with manufacturers that disdainfully treat their customers the way they do.
1171  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: September 09, 2013, 10:50:14 PM
09/09/2013: The next generation of ASIC miners based on custom 28nm design is now available for sale from www.bitmine.ch!

This is the official thread for support, questions, applause and blames related to our CoinCraft series of miners and ASICs.

News and updates will be posted here, if you have any question feel free to ask!

Thanks,

The bitmine.ch team

UPDATE: Please note that if you place an order in the reservation queue, you will receive an email asking for the payment. Please ignore this email, your order will be put in "reservation" status within the next 48 hours! We are working on fixing this, thanks for your understanding.

According to your site, you guys have been working on this for 6 months. 6 months development? Simon Barber's been working on his HashFast chip for over 2 years & you're telling us you hope to ship at the same time?

Tapeout info? Anything?
1172  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast Order Chain Updated on: September 09, 2013, 10:47:06 PM
Cara,

I keep asking for this but: Can we please get an update to Case Number 235 / Order 991? We're coming up on three weeks without a resolution to our order (our order was the one where Blockchain somehow didn't send almost 2 BTC even though we had it available in the wallet address; this was rectified a while ago).

I'm told our place in the Q is secure, but it'd be nice to finally see our order as part of the official order chain. Thanks,DZ

Hi Zombei,

I will hit you up privately. I discovered why 991 is not yet in the order chain.
-John

Thanks John! I talked to Cara this morning. She said our order should be added sometime tonight to the order chain.
1173  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is this a genuine Item on: September 08, 2013, 10:39:03 PM
Just got update from eBay Loss Prevention Department that the seller is not a genuine seller and not to pay him for the item  Smiley

So, you're saying: when something was too good to be true, it actually turned out to be too good to be true?  Grin
1174  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: A little help to decide if you want to do a groupbuy or not... on: September 08, 2013, 08:51:39 PM
Yikes! I'm sorry to hear about that complication.  That's the risk we all take when we're dealing with Customer Service; never know if you're going to get that so-called 1-3% of society that are mentally impaired or damaged. They deserve our empathy and compassion but it makes for a difficult situation if you're a Seller. That was a Dave Chapelle reference BTW if you were unfamiliar with it.

Two things I can think of:

- Sounds to me like someone was on a bender in Asia! The Hangover: Part 3.5!
- Maybe he's just off his meds right now.  Huh I've known people that suffered from bipolar disorders that made them act this way when they refused to take their meds (says it makes them lethargic).
1175  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: I sell my Butterfly Labs 30 GH/sec ASIC Bitcoin miner BTC, in hand on: September 08, 2013, 08:46:30 PM
Mate,

Next time you should post it to the proper sub category which is at Marketplace / Goods / Hardware. You'll also get more of the proper viewers this way.

Cheers!
1176  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [NEW OPPORTUNITY - First Avail. Reserv.] Cointerra/Hashfast Bare Rig Group Buy on: September 08, 2013, 06:24:34 AM
Hey all

Davmp and Zombei, it could be cool, not quite yet but maybe soon, to start looking at getting a solid order form on a separate page of our site for this stuff. Slightly premature right now, but would be good to have it ready to go from the beginning. On our end, we are still thoroughly tied up in our Bitfury stuff and want to wait at least until we have our prototytpe hashing before taking on any other projects. That should be up and running in the next week or so.

Cheers

Barntech

Sounds good to me! I'll be here and we'll all be here whenever you'd like us to help out. If you want to handle all the BTC I'm cool with that, I'm just here to help Group Buyers and Sellers (oh, and myself by helping buyers & sellers; I'm all about getting access to leading edge tech at the best value).

P.S. Sorry about the thread hijack on your Drillbit GB to you and the Drillbit Group Buyers; was just backing up my man bobsag3. I didn't want to leave him hanging out on a limb. He's put a lot of time/effort/money into doing prior upgrades as well as taking my hosting suggestion upgrades and collateral methods to heart.
1177  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED / GROUP BUY] HASHFAST(BATCH1) 1.55 BTC for 10GH, JOHN K. ESCROW, MAHALO! on: September 08, 2013, 06:11:42 AM
firsttimeuser has completed vetting with me & is now a vetted miner host!

Congratulations! Management fees will not be applied to his shares and he gets a hosting fee for putting up with our Baby Jet! Someone has to change electronic diapers once in a while - AKA the magical reset button.

We're lucky he's able to host our miner; it's an excellent set of circumstances for an amateur host yet he has limited capacity because he already had other miners on order.

Now I need to work out a deal with philipma1957 for 1 or 2 of his PSUs before they eventually meet up; that way you don't have to ship 'em or drive twice!  Wink
1178  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: September 08, 2013, 03:08:13 AM
No Jallys shipped today AKA as their cheapest, easiest to assemble product. You'd think they'd ship on weekends since they're so backlogged.

What is going on over there? Are they 3D printing the cases, line by line?
1179  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: September 08, 2013, 03:03:33 AM
bobsag3 has been vetted by John K. and myself from previous contacts with both of us. He's even been vetted via social network. He's been very open and transparent in my dealings with him so far. John & I both know where he lives should anyone need to contact us if the caca hits the fan, which isn't going to happen as he's going to have his collateral, job & freedom on the line; which is as it should be.

He's got one heckuva miner host location being set up if I do say so myself.

As for me: John K. has vetted me & Barntech, jungle_dave, and BeepBeep2 all know where I live and/or work. Smiley

I'm of the strong opinion that you better put your a$$ on the line if you intend to handle other people's money/BTC/Hardware/IDs.
1180  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: I have $40,000 to invest on: September 08, 2013, 02:06:25 AM
My partner and I invested 70k in HashFast

You got a deal that is no longer available to the person that started this thread. All HashFast pre-order spots are filled. Your deal includes a ROI guarantee that could provide you with 400% more hashing power. I don't think this guarantee will come with subsequent orders.

Heh, I agree. cypherdoc kind've spilt the beans a bit that they're prepping to trigger the MPP. John S. hasn't mentioned anything official yet. Something about HashFast being able to do it because they went: small?  Huh

So in the near term, bare rigs with cheap high quality chips could be a winner with HF & CT most liking having to trigger their MPP...which is why it looks like me & several other miners are chipping in to help Barntech to do some bare rigs that just need chips from HashFast and Cointerra. I have this dastardly plan where we offload the customer service and education stuff to us so he can focus on getting product out the door faster instead of answering questions, handling sales, refunds, basic tech support, etc..

Anyone else interested in helping out please let us know. We've got a handful of vetted members so far willing to help out Barntech in whatever way we can help:

You can also leave your first reservations on that thread. We're aiming for speed to market w/ the best quality parts as soon as tech specs/schematics are available.

Thirdly, Barntech was talking about a $650 32GH/s unit also being a possibility, if that's interesting as well please leave your comments and/or reservations on this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=288101.0

TL;DR: If a HashFast or Cointerra bare rig, and/or $650 32GH/s sound interesting, please let Barntech & other system builders know in the thread link above.
