Not sure if you heard the news but your good deal was rewarded almost 50% by my co-GBC thomas_s. who was touched by what you did.

He bought you a R3 share worth $115 (12-15GH/s up to 48-60GH/s if 4x MPP kicks in) for you being so nice & did the same for the R1 gent I sent your donation to. He also said he's never seen such behavior in a GB before, so: thank you!  Smiley

Take care!
DZ

Wow! please say thank you very much to thomas_s, am very honored and humbled by his actions. In return, I will donate the 50% hashrate to Mr. DZ's chosen charity, while keeping the other 50%. The other 50% will be donated to my chosen XXXXX charity (Tzu Chi and White Cross).

I always keep this quote in my life by E. Burke: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

I know I cant change the world. But at least if my time is up, I did something right.  Smiley

Thank you again too Mr. DZ, you opened the goodness in this bitcoin community.

Regards,

XXXXXXX

I just stopped by to say I was back on the case but someone keeps cutting onions next to me. Cry

The exchange above was prompted by actions taken in R2, and R3 & R4 of this co-operative's community fundraising.

For those that don't have the background info for what XXXXXX was talking about: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=274055.msg3206423#msg3206423

Thank you gentlemen. I'm donating half a share of R1 GB to this same person you already donated to. Since our anon. hero passed on half of *his* donation that's essentially a full share spread in 2 HF GBs, one a Baby Jet, the other a Sierra.

It looks like about $310 $400 worth of BTC has been donated in the R3/R4 thread and R2 thread in the form of BTC and outright ownership of HashfFast GB shares!

Amazing! I'm thankful and happy to be a conduit for this goodwill. This is *not* a solicitation. Please don't PM us for donations. It was simply 4 acts of random kindness. Not to toot our horn: This is over and above what any other co-operative has done on these forums for complete strangers, as best as I can tell.

BTW, for those wondering how the heck this co-operative works out: yes, we vote on *all* major decisions.

I've set up a separate thread just for the R1 gents so that I make sure their needs aren't being overlooked (our 3rd R1 vote: To Overclock or not Overclock our Baby Jet hosted in NY? If so, how much should we overclock?).

========

I'm an amateur historian fascinated by the changes going on around us and happy to actually participate at what history will still likely see as the groundfloor of Cryptocurrency's eventual integration and takeover of many aspects of our society and economy.

I'm also a humanist in every sense of the word feeling a sense of kinship with, oh just about 99%+ of humanity. I try to run my co-operative in the same fashion, trying to include everyone and value their unique opinions, insights, and strengths. I listed all those occupations above not to show who's running the co-op- Answer: as admins: me and jungle_dave, as a co-op: ALL of us. This shows the diversity of opinion and thought in this co-op, and our strengths as a group.

BTW for those w/ an IT background: feel free to volunteer for a 3rd co-admin for anyone w/ a share in a miner; we're a mesh network, the more redundancy, the better IMO

OK, I'm going back to the IT caves doing GB work behind the scenes that helps to keep ownership of shares/accounting/wallets for payouts/payment confirmations are 100% correct. [UPDATE: I'm CC'ing thomas_s so that both of our records are correct about anon. shares and wallet addresses for R3/R4.]

It takes time to make sure we're absolutely correct about the GB ownership and payments/payouts. If you PMed me, I'll update the PMed reservations sent to me shortly. I'm still catching up on PMs so I should be contacting you shortly if you messaged me. Again: please, *no* donations are being solicited *or* expected.

Thank you. It's an honor to serve you all and to be a service to you all.

Re: Bob's 120A generator.

My understanding from talking w/ Bob is that it's meant for longer outages, hence the need for our own local battery backup & voltage regulation. That's why there's a minimal price built into the share price for Battery/Backup performance. From the homework I asked Thomas to do, it came out to about $1K+ for us to have 1 to 1.5 hours of backup power which would've added almost 10% to the share price for a $11K GB. I already knew that but I wanted him to learn on his own.  Wink

That's partly why he can offer true professional colocation services at the world's lowest costs. If you were running an industrial rig by yourself, do you only want 2-4 min. backup from a $100-150 UPS? By all of us ganging together for UPS/Battery costs, we all get much better value by getting more battery power per dollar spent, thanks to our greater purchasing power & access to better equipment/values.

Back from the beach. Dinner w/ the fam in a bit & then I'll be working thru PMs in a bit. Please be patient w/ me & Thomas. I heard back from John S.; he says he's *not* easy to piss off and wasn't sure what I was talking about. Nice to hear that at least one of the heads of marketing of these new mfgs. has thicker skin then what we've seen so far w/ unnamed Gen1 ASIC mfgs.

I was thinking that w/ such short notice for payment on this flash sale, if necessary, we'll try to secure 2 purchases but at the very least we'll secure 1 $6K Sierra (depending on what funds we have avail. by 9PM HST Monday night). If R4 stalls, we'll put everything we have into getting R3's Sierra secured at $6K but pref. at $10K.

My understanding from PMs I've received from those that soft reserved shares is that they want to take advantage of the Flash Sale but can't pay until Tues/Wed.

Some buyers may not be able to get payments in by Monday night. I'll talk to John S. on our behalf & see what I can work out as far as slightly late payments for secured pre-orders.

Looks like we have more reservations when I update numbers. Be back in a little bit.

Ok, just put me down for 3 more. You want to update the thread using the same color format?

Thanks!

94 shares avail. Please send anon. reserve PMs to thomas_s. , por favor.

Hmm, the groms are finally sick of their ipads & TV, & want to finally go to the beach. Imagine that.

I may be gone longer than a coupla hours. Sorry, that spreadsheet update will have to wait but no worries, y'all have PM exchanges w/me for your payments/ownerships, etc..

To speed things up you can send PM's to me I am a GBC of this GB, it'll free up DZ's time so he can tend to other things.

Send Reserve requests / questions to me.
For reserve requests I just need to know how many you would like to reserve and if you want to be anon or posted publicly.

Yup, that's correct! Nice to be able to tag team and have access to more funds/BTC for these flash projects. BBL gents!

These shares are only $69 each, at cost for something that projects as actually blue on TGB...just sayin'...

===

I'm going to take a break & straighten out the ownership of all the GBs. Hope to straighten out spreadsheets in all 4 GBs & eat some lunch, so I may be offline a few hours. Please take the wheel, Thomas.

A gentleman has contacted me to buy 2 of my R1 HF GB shares so that I can apply the BTC to this R4 GB. If so, I'll be in for 3 or 4 more shares.

Thomas, any shares you want to claim on this R4? No MPP, but it looks like it doesn't need it, from what we can tell w/ best projections.
1026  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: September 22, 2013, 09:06:07 PM
To John S.,

In my PM to you yesterday morning on behalf of my co-operative, I'm sorry if I pissed you off John (something I seem to do if your name is Yifu as well) but at least the Flash Sale worked for me and thomas_s. to reserve 100 HashFast Sierra shares worth over $11K on the GB forum in less than 12 hours. That may be a GB forum record if any others would like to dispute that.  Grin

So, we're seeing if we can sell a 2nd Sierra, this one cheaper, without MPP, to try to beat the Monday night deadline: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=299171.0;all

Please PM me if you have questions or would like to take a fractional risk on what are looking like the best available ASIC pre-order deals at the moment.
1027  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Will any new ASIC make ROI? on: September 22, 2013, 08:57:52 PM
HashFast has a Flash Sale. Looks like demand had slowed as I only saw 3 separate Sierra orders. I may have lit a fire under John S. to move some stock via PM yesterday morning; you can see the PM (and loverly blue ROI projections) on Page 2 of my R3/R4 Flash Sale thread for a HashFast. I may have pissed him off because he or they didn't include me in the email blast even though I have a paid R1 order & my email on record w/ them from tons of emails.

We managed to sell out 100 shares in an MPP Sierra in less than 12 hours thanks to this Flash Sales and my timely organization skills.

FWIW, and of course I'm not your attorney or financial advisor *AND* I'm trying to sell you at-cost shares w/ 20-30 min. UPS backup at only 2.75% hosting, but FCTaiChi's and updated TGB #s show a modest profit if you follow the links on Page 2 of that thread I mentioned.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=299171.0;all

To me: it looks like the sweet spot to sell them used would be at the 5-7 month mark when you're in the blue (or black), but that's just my opinion.  Wink

Aloha!

Well, when all the lawyers and amateur lawyers are done poring over legalese, thomas_s., bobsag3, and I are trying to sell our 2nd Sierra in 2 days thanks to this Flash Sale:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=299171.0;all

Upfront, I'm not your lawyer or your financial adviser but we have at-cost shares available for those interested in either a MPP (Round3) or non-MPP (Round4) shares in an at-cost HashFast Sierra. Who knows if we all lose our shirts, but at least we'll all lose our shirts...together!  Cheesy
Having a sense of Humor....priceless...

Well, you just gotta laugh about most of this stuff if you're still trying to mine and you think plain vanilla Buy & Hold is boring or you really do want to do your part to help secure the network (at the lowest possible costs that aren't USB thumb drive devices).

I'm not here to help those guys (although I do hold BTC via BnH & dollar cost averaging of my BTC purchases). I'm here to help those trying to get at-cost pricing as if they were rich or made out of BTC because the best values are only found at the top end of the market nowadays.

I may be a cheeky mofo but I'm a mofo that gets stuff done and isn't afraid to tell any emperor that he's buck ass naked & either retracted or all huevos. I don't care WTF your title is, we're all the same from the most pitiful, wretched human to the richest, IMHO. Now imagine yourself as the head of HashFast marketing, a new darling child of the ASIC pre-order marketplace, and you get this PM from this cheeky mofo: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=299171.msg3208696#msg3208696

For some reason I didn't get an email blast even though I'm registered & have a paid B1 order. Was it the mention about only 4 votes for HashFast in my latest poll in my PM? Coincidence?  Huh

I know VMC, Avalon, &  BFL are having issues & I'm no conspiracy theorist but the weekend timing is interesting.  Cheesy   Cheesy

For a more nuanced take on how I feel about mfg. hatred on the forum, I wrote up my thoughts here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=281307.msg3154478#msg3154478

And we're open again for R4. We've got 98 shares available to try to get a 2nd Sierra purchased before the HF Flash Sale ends.

This time it's for a $6K Sierra without MPP at $69 a share for 100 shares, which includes the required 1RU Control Unit.

Good opportunity to merge your GB with ours if you got too busy to run a GB.  Wink

Round 3 NEWS:

Need to confirm in a bit but 20 shares PAID by -Redacted-! Thank you and officially: Welcome Aboard!

Plus, 2 shares paid by bobsag3, plus I already have funds on hand for my 3 shares for R3 at mcxNOW.

25 shares paid for in R3 already and thomas_s. to pay for 51, so that's 76 shares off the bat paid or to be paid by GBCs for Round 3.
1032  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN, 98/100 shares avail.]R4: HashFast Flash Sale 48 Hours only, At-Cost +Host on: September 22, 2013, 07:34:11 PM
I plead the 5th. Ill send you the payment for my share when I get home. Also just my personal vote to get it with MPP.

Bob, we're short on time. I'm locking it in at $69 a share for R4 until further notice. I'm already juggling 3 current GBs at the moment, my man.

We'll look at upgrading the share price *after* we've secured a $6K order for R4.  You or thomas_s. can float the ebay shares for R4 if necessary since I'm already still floating 7 or more shares in R2.  Grin

And since you're kolohe, or a rascal, here's the ebay listing I just put up for 10 shares (hope this link works, can someone confirm?):

I'll go for 20 shares, BTC, fiat, or whatever combination you prefer, your choice.  PM me, please, so we can set up the payment arrangements.....

Given the current rate of network hashrate increases, and the probablility of KNC delivering in the next two weeks, along with a second round of Bitfury stuff in the next 5 weeks, my vote(s) (once you sell me some shares.) would be for the MPP...

Excellent! Ok I have you voted as 20 votes for the MPP option with a promise of up to 2-4X our out of box hashrate.

Only 22 shares remaining out of 100!

Thank you and welcome aboard!

I promise you that you won't be disappointed, at least about the performance of this GB Coordinator in matters related to defending your interests and rights.

Thanks DZ - glad to be onboard.

I'm getting the feeling that this will soon be the only way for non-corporate miners to go in the very near future.  I mean think about it - I haven't really figured out how I'm actually going to be able to manage and run 8 Jupiters and some additional Saturns in my house without running power cords all around to different circuits - and leaving the windows open all winter to keep them cool....

Heh...

Ha! I must be speaking to someone else that drank the BTC Kool Aid they were giving out.  Cheesy  Wink

I also agree about this being the only way to keep up w/ net. difficulty if you're not made of money or Bitcoin.

Payment details were updated in post 2 or 3. Thanks! Please only send BTC from addresses that you control. Also, try not to send BTC to anyone when you're tired or sleepy. My 2 satoshis.

1 more vote for MPP. 21 votes for MPP, 30 more votes required for majority win.
Hey! I paid for those 2 shares at 3 am leave me alone Sad

Also thomas- if we have time... 2nd sierra?

He had to go to work so I'm stepping up to help; another nice thing of having two GBCs co-ordinate the same thread (as long as they're on the same page (or at least the same chapter in the same book  Wink )).

Hmm, darnit Bob. I was hoping to enjoy my Sunday & watch men smash into each other at high speed. But since my team doesn't play till Monday night anyway...

Alright, since R3's $12K GB sold out in 12 hours & you have that massive host facility in Missouri that need ASIC space heaters for the winter:

Looks like R4 is OPEN!

R4 *will* initially be a $6,000 1.2TH/s+ Sierra Batch2 expected to be delivered on Dec.1.
There's no MPP, I repeat there's no MPP with this R4.

Since bobsag3's the troublemaker that started R4 on my nice peaceful Sunday, he and I have the first 2 share reservations, 1 ea. to start. Guess I'm off to ebay to see if I can round up some folks via the ebay/PayPal route since we're short on time.

================

98 at-cost shares available at $69 each!

- Est. Hashrate: 12-15GH/s per share. No MPP.
- 2.75% Host/Management fee at a Professional Colocation Facility in Missouri (likely backup sites in NY or Ohio). Lowest Fees around.

If there's an outcry among R4 shareholders for HashFast MPP at an additional cost ($115 per share), still at-cost,

Poland wins the last 15 share reservations.

Congrats gents! Grin

Ok...I'm really heading off to bed & handing over the baton to thomas_s. who should be up in a few hours.

Woohoo! We did it Thomas! Feel free to sell some of your 51 shares if you'd like. Talk to you all when I wake up & Thomas & I will sort out share ownership and who has priority for backup shares.

Hi

I reserve the remaining shares

Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom,

You got it! I can't believe it: We're all filled up in about 12 hours. I believe that's a GB forum speed record for a $10K+GB.

Thank you and welcome aboard Tom!

Zero shares remaining. Backup share slots available!

Please PM thomas_s. and myself for backup shares. There's a decent chance a few shares may spring free as I had pre-reserved a couple of shares from R2 gents I haven't heard back from yet.

I also may have backup shares available for an Aug. 9 purchased HF Baby Jet, due to ship on Day 1 (64th paid) and arrive on Nov. 1 to Missouri on my R2 thread.
1037  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN, 5/100 shares avail.]R3: HashFast Flash Sale 72 Hours only, At-Cost +Host on: September 22, 2013, 10:34:37 AM
I would like to soft-reserve 10 shares, please.

Have a good day.

Hey mrm0. Welcome back for another round! Please keep in mind: Sale ends Monday at 11:59PM PST.

I don't know if entire payment is due Monday, but the sale ends Monday. That could a constraint we all have to deal with. One option if we're short funds at the end: we buy the $6K miner & contact them later to ask to upgrade to the $10.8K MPP miner. Ta-da! Payment problem possibly solved or delayed for the full $10.8K.

I have you down for 10 shares. That's funny, I was just going to reserve 1 for you as a courtesy before heading to bed...and here you are!

5 shares left out of 100!
1038  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Merge your Group Buys here on: September 22, 2013, 10:19:03 AM

Hey Zeek!

Well, I'd put in a soft reservation if I were you. These things are moving quickly & you can always change your mind before or after payment (1.5% restock/refund fee after payment).

I honestly don't think a 100 share GB with shares of over $100 ea. has ever sold out or almost sold out in less than a day here.

What the hey. It really is a good deal in a barren wasteland of good deals IMHO.

I'm down for 1 more share, so I'm up to 3 shares for this R3 GB.

15 shares available! Please PM thomas_s. if you want to reserve any of the last 15 shares. If you PM me for shares & there's any confusion, the two of us will compare notes to see who reserved first.

Also, please don't be shy about letting us know about your desire for backup shares for this R3 GB, in case a share or few become available for backup share holders.

G'night everyone! See you manana.
