Hey fivesky555, please see my GBEC services link for vetting instructions. It should be Post 13.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
1182  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: A little help to decide if you want to do a groupbuy or not... on: September 07, 2013, 07:39:23 AM
It seems Avalon is beginning to refund some of the chip buys. Kindly check if you have bought chips from Avalon if you got a refund already. It's a relief to see 782.1 BTC in my wallet after all this time.

And keep sure you dont fall for a scammer and you dont answer happily "yes, refund" since someone put in his address... i didnt fall luckily otherwise i would have lost 2 batches refunds.

Oh? So some scumbags tried to get you to issue a refund when they didn't even order? Weak.

Care to share the names of these obvious miscreants so we know who to watch out for? Perhaps a thread in the scam accusation forum is applicable.

Keep in mind the top scammers on the scam thread are those that have had higher trust ratings than anybody here... If I spent 6 months to a year building hero status and suddenly found myself able to peace out on hundreds of thousands of $ in BTC.. well I can think that I wouldn't but what would you do?  Maybe none of us know what we will do when we are in charge of those kind of assets.

Gah! I don't understand that scammer mentality. You can make just as much money - if not more - working legitimately without having to look over your shoulder for the Police all the time. I'll never understand that. Scams take a lot of work too in most cases; might as well make your living by not pissing people off & tempting karma!

Well, the votes are in: firsttimeuser wins! I didn't vote and didn't need to break any tiebreakers. philipma1957 is our local backup for further redundancy (thanks philip!).

Congrats man! I'll send you a PM later as a follow up as to what's next. We'll go over any hosting concerns you may still have. Thank you once again for offering to host our HashFast and thank you to BeepBeep2 & kaz911 for offering to host as well.

kaz911: please PM me if you'd like me to list your miner hosting services on these forums and/or ebay.

Also, we could use one more remote admin if anyone would like to step up. It's not that hard & I could def. teach you in a short period. I don't want you guys to be stuck in a lurch in case I'm indisposed and Dave's in the Amazon for a few days.
1184  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: VER 2.0, Introducing DZ Escrow *Coordinator* Services for Group Buyers & Sellers on: September 07, 2013, 07:18:25 AM
Instructions for those wanting to be vetted as a Group Buy Coordinator or Miner Host

=============================================================================================

1. You'll need to willingly share your ID & address with a vetting service on this board. It doesn't matter who you go through, you need to have your real ID and address on record so if criminal activities happen, we know where to send the evidence to the authorities and who they should look out for. This is no laughing matter. This is what is required:

- A clear photo of a Govt. ID
- A clear photo of you holding the same Govt. ID

You can post this privately to an image hosting site and provide me a link, or provide me a Dropbox link. I recommend that you delete any cloud hosted files after I confirm receipt.

2. Additionally, for even greater protection to Group Buyers, I also request a social media link. If you're on LinkedIn, I'd prefer a link to your professional profile. A veteran LinkedIn profile provides the strongest impression when paired with multiple professional endorsements/contacts. It's the exact same method I provided to John K. Escrow to vet me. Other forms of social media are ok as it allows me another way to vet that you really are who you say you are. I'm working a lot closer with clients then your typical Escrow Service so I need to be absolutely sure that you're a well intentioned Group Buy Coordinator or Miner Host.

I've tried to prove myself worthy of your time, you'll also need to prove yourself worthy of my limited time/energy. Because: If you succeed, you're going to be handling *other* people's money, BTC, machines, hopes, and dreams. If you defraud your buyers, there's going to be real world consequences. Are you ready for this big responsibility?

3. You will need to answer a short private questionnaire after Step 2. It's essentially to check how ready you are for your chosen endeavor and to see how well you've thought out different situations that may need to be addressed in the course of your first Group Buy or Miner Hosting.

Hey Zombie.

Sounds good. Always nice to have spare hands and brain to keep on top of all this stuff. Sounds like it could be good to see what we can do together. It would be nice to start seeing what kind of interest there is out there for either a fast-hash-one based project http://virtualminingcorp.com/shop1/index.php?id_category=8&controller=category, or a cointerra based project http://cointerra.com/shop/

They are both offering chips for what looks like a January delivery. The smaller size of the fast-hash-one chips is more appealing to us at this point as they can still be accessible to smaller scale miners, and most likely can be built into the expandability of our current equipment. If you are reading this and would be interested in either a $3200ish contera 500 GH/s miner, or a $550ish 32 GH/s miner, please speak up and it may come to pass. Wink

Barntech

Hey Barnetch,

Yup, as the posts above point out: whatever you want us to do, we're more then willing to help.  Grin

My evil angle is that the less of the customer service & day to day stuff you have to deal with, the faster you'll get product out the door. Moohahaha.
1187  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [NEW OPPORTUNITY - First Avail. Reserv.] Cointerra/Hashfast Bare Rig Group Buy on: September 07, 2013, 04:04:33 AM

Barntech

While the Cointera (was contera a purposeful misspelling?) has a 3x better GH/$ initial cost, I can't justify that level of spending myself at this time.   As a result, I'd be interested in the $550ish miner.   But that might change if I knew GH/W numbers too.

Oh, and if anyone needs a programmer to help with anything, I can offer my services.  I can also build websites, webstores, etc.  My day job involves writing and supporting the whole component stack involved in FX trading systems.

Nice! I think that between all the volunteers that showed up, Barntech won't have to worry about the front end; as in: site, sales, marketing, customer education (I know I was probably a PITA when he was setting up) & customer service (which can take hours and hours), refunds, dispute resolution, having to do all the project updates...oh, all kinds of stuff.  Grin He can tweak things or adjust things as he sees fit for the good of the Group Buy.

I believe he's already had some help with his site but perhaps you can come to an arrangement with him for some services.
1188  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: September 07, 2013, 03:51:59 AM
If any ASIC miner hosts need vetting, I offer vetting to both Miner Hosts (and new Group Buy Coordinators) as a free service to the community & because we all know John K. is busy as F. I've vetted or am in the process of vetting 5 new GBCs & several miner hosts around the world. You can send me a PM for more details or see Post 6 of my Services page.

Vetted hosts can either be part of my Miner Host Matchmaking Index or they can go solo after that. Being vetted means that you willingly share your ID with a trusted forum member as a means of establishing trust; essentially someone knows who you are & where you live if you're evil or fraudulent.

And believe me: there's nothing more I'd love to do then hand over some scammer to the cops.  Wink

I do recommend that any miner hosts upgrade their insurance (or go buy some if they don't already have renters/home owners insurance), their security, and in certain circumstances such as hosting CT IVs you may want to even go secure a real world surety bond to assuage customer apprehension.

Besides escrowed GB shares/purchases for those that want it, the vetting and arranging of hosting is yet another service I can offer to any bare rig ASIC rig GB & Hosting plan Barntech wants to work on so he can focus on doing what he does best.
1189  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining Equipment Manufacturers -- HashFast Tapes Out on: September 07, 2013, 03:45:18 AM
Hey FCTaiChi,

If you know of any good ones, could you point out some sites where we can chart the historical & annual network difficulty? [Same question goes to forum members that may know]

Also, I'm sure you've ran the numbers but at what annual difficulty percentage does *everyone's* ROI fall into the red? 30%? 35%?

Cheers!

... We also have customers who decide to sell their orders on eBay or other venues. Unfortunately, doing so requires a secure form of transfer, and the trust factor simply makes it difficult for a seller to find buyers.

Trust factor?

If you're not BFL & you have a solid ebay rep by not pissing off anyone - like moi - you easily sell 3 Jalapenos with 2 of them being pre-orders!
D'oh! So much for that argument.

What? No one wants to give me free BTC for nothing?

Start a bitbet.

The bet is that BFL won't catch up to the July 6 Jally orders and have the July 6 Jallys on the delivery truck before the end of September.
EDIT: Looks like Jallys have been stuck on Feb 12-14 orders for about a week.

BTW, I've often wondered: WTF is that in your avatar pic?  An Avalon with wires sticking out?  Huh Grin

Could be a plane, train, or automobile.

I would be very interested in both.

Holy cow! Who the heck wouldn't! I'd def. be interested in buying as well as helping.

bobsag3 - who has super cheap miner hosting - & I agree to be your helping hands in whatever way we can help because you're more then worthy of our support. It appears lemonte is interested as well in some way, we've been in contact & I may be vetting him shortly.

I can also speak for jungle_dave that if he has access to the right equipment/talent/software he's got some interesting ideas to improve hashrate *without* overclocking as he has a background in cryptography as an EE/Network Engineer. He's dying to work on his improvements but needs some help. You may want to speak with him about his ideas as they're over my head even though I used to run actual network encryptors/decryptors before there was Bitcoin. Smiley

I've done procurement for various R&D projects over the years so I'm not exactly a stranger to dealing with mfgs. and resellers as far as the wholesale pricing aspect.
1196  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: HOSTING MINING RIG on: September 06, 2013, 06:50:08 AM
Hi Kimi,

Well, that's what we're offering as an intro rate, we may not be able to hold these low rates for too long. These gentleman have some of the world's cheapest power/internet but their prices may rise in the near or long term.

You'd have to check your pricing to see if you can afford this 2.5% hosting fee on your end. It could be you may not be able to hit that low of a percentage.

The actual split in my Matchmaking service is either:

A) 2% to the host, 0.5% to me as the Matchmaking service when the miner host doesn't want to deal with either: having their ID known, or having to deal with paperwork/customer service/advertising/marketing.

OR

B) A 0.25 BTC matchmaking fee after a successful match is made, paid one time by the Buyer looking for hosting with you keeping the 2.5% if you handle the further paperwork/customer service/advertising/marketing.

Let me know if you're still interested in the vetting process & I'll send you further instructions. Your ID will be held in the strictest confidence & will only be released to legal authorities with proper authority if a crime has been committed. You only have to do this once with a vetting service from a trusted forum member such as an Escrow Agent or an Escrow Affiliate (via BTCrow), such as myself, & you'll be able to point back on it whenever you sell something or offer services on this forum.

If you're serious about hosting expensive equipment such as Cointerra IVs you may want to think about some sort of BTC Good Behavior Bond with a proper Escrow Agent such as dabs or John K.. That could be the only way buyers may trust you with hardware that expensive.

Aloha!
DZ
1197  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: I have $40,000 to invest on: September 06, 2013, 06:11:19 AM
You could do split it 3 ways: BTC, a Cointerra IV at $14K, and maybe a couple of KnCs, BitFurys or a HashFast since they have the best Miner Protection Program. You'd be hedging your bets on some of the strongest ASIC mfgs. IMO while still holding BTC long term.

I'm not an investment adviser, of course, and I can't tell you what to do with your money but: Your best returns may come from just buying & holding BTC with the way the net. difficulty is going at the moment.

Sorry Unacceptable. You're right. Must be time for a snickers bar I suppose. Grin

Guess I'll just need to use my first ignore.

===

Sorry for the thread hijack freeworm. Don't mind my thread outburst. I've put a lot of time/effort into starting my services & to have someone call me a scammer without a single shred of proof when I've been completely aboveboard with my dealings with people's IDs, cash, and BTC & have gone out of my way to help newbies and forum members, just rankles me after the day I had. Like I mentioned: the actual escrow depository services & 3rd party dispute resolution is handled by BTCrow. I'm an official BTCrow Escrow *Affiliate* and not an Agent. The offer still stands.

I can also mention dabs as an escrow service that's avail. He runs an actual MSB service in the PI. SebastianJu is also a standup guy.

eve just got me in a bad mood. I'm usually patient with his outbursts but he's never attacked me personally before. Some jerk new GBC tried to include me in his price fixing cabal: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=288656.0

Sorry eve. But I still reported you to the mods for libel/defamation. There's free speech but you cannot go around throwing those serious accusations without proof. I've listed my proof. Where's your proof, kook?
1200  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: MYMINER - Open Source Bitcoin mining ASIC project on: September 06, 2013, 04:46:03 AM
According to one of the GBCs I advocate for, ultibit, I understand that John K. has been tied up lately and very busy. They've been waiting days for service IIRC. I noticed recently that the GB forum needed escrow service redundancy and more prompt attention (IMHO), which is which I started my GB services. I offer a response time of 12-24 hours for official transactions, but usually around 4-6 hours. My niche is the Group Buys forum and pre-planning GBs so I guarantee I'll give you much more prompt and detailed support then any normal Escrow Service can possibly provide (since they have to serve the whole BTC economy/marketplace). I provide world class customer service support, education skills, and access to my 30 years of IT and advanced sales experience (I once sold and taught close up magic tricks as a teenager).

I would like to offer my escrow coordination services as well; I'm not an Escrow Repository but I can set up semi-automated sales for your fundraising at BTCrow for a 2% total fee. BTCrow offers low fees, Escrow Repository services as you build up your funding, refunds, manual release of funds by buying parties at the end of the fundraising effort, and even professional 3rd party dispute resolution for up to 120 days post-sales, which is something that could be important to potential backers.

I run a small miner co-op & I vet new Group Buy Coordinators and amateur miner hosts on the GB forum for free as a community service. I also advocate for both buyers and sellers. I've passed on 9.3 BTC on behalf of 3 different miners for HashFast Group Buy shares via John K.. In only about two weeks of my services being available: I have vetted (or am in the process of vetting) 5 different new or aspiring Group Buy Coordinators so far and multiple amateur miner hosts in several different states in my matchmaking index with super cheap electricty,

This Guy look very scammy to me, trying to self promote to be an Escrow Guy. A Scammer promoting himself what a joke. This whole thing looks very suspicious to me. What Guarantee Do they have? Another x-crowd, Abidi?

Screw you eve! Go fuck yourself. Pretty much everyone laughs at you here. Your worth to the community is zilch. Go back to the Group Buys forum & see what I've contributed to the top post there compared to you. How many endorsements do you have on ebay? I've got a 162 perfect feedback rating as a co-seller/buyer over 10 years.

How many endorsements do you have on this forum. I have 5 so far, and I've vetted bobsag3 and BeepBeep2 as Group Buy Coordinators for free. I also have three new GBCs I'm in the process of vetting and multiple people here have trusted me with their IDs & even BTC with good reason & nothing fucking happened you fucking barney kook. Here's 4 shares worth 6.2 BTC where nothing fucking happened except what was supposed to happen:

What you just accused me of: That's libel or defamation.
