3601  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: OP_EVAL proposal on: November 07, 2011, 12:49:27 PM

Actually, I am quite disturbed with implications of shifting the burden of fees to the receiver (as transaction fees are at least partially dependent on conditions that only the sender is exposed to, such as for instance whether the sender's balance is made up of a bajillion of tiny 0.5 BTC inputs)

I'll PM theymos so that he can convince me without turning this topic into a rehash of something he might have already discussed and explained in detail

With OP_EVAL, the fees for inputs will stay with the sender, while the fees for the output are moved to the receiver (who'll pay them when he uses them as inputs). So what OP_EVAL does is make everyone responsible for their own stuff.

fair enough, now i understood what what was meant with that feature. This will enable all merchants treat sub cent amounts like any other quantity, not having to take fees into consideration.
3602  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Me saying hi, bitcoin transaction taking more then 36 hours.. still in process on: November 07, 2011, 12:18:18 PM
Well..

I thought that if i transfer bitcoins from one user to another the bitcoins wouldnt be linked anymore to a bitcoin address. Just to be more anonymous..

So i mailed them because it still was in process. They asked me to clarify the relation between the two users. One is mine girlfriend.. I did what they asked, it is now more then 36 hours ago since i last received an email from them..

I dont know what to do, what to expect.. I am slowly starting to think i lost these bitcoins Sad

Guys advice?

maybe you should wait until you've done something and then continue to the next thing. You mailed them while in process ? My advice would be... don't think, you scare us Smiley How much bitcoins you talking ?
3603  Other / Meta / Re: hphosts listing bitcointalk.org as Malware Distributer on: November 07, 2011, 02:27:13 AM
They say it's due to things like this:
https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=8403.0

I'll try to convince them to remove us, but I doubt it will work.

Edit: Yeah, they're of the opinion that any site allowing free discussion is a "malware distributor". I'm not going to deal with them any more. If you want to bother them about it, feel free.

heh, bad example that prog actually works and i triple checked it just in case
3604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does the Bitcoin Community need? on: November 06, 2011, 11:08:53 PM
Maybe a p2pMarket based on it's own blockchain ? You will be the first to make one if you like the idea

Perhaps it's time for our ISPs to dish out a few $$ back to the Establishment...similar to the Blank CD Tax ? (without raising our already high prices in the process.....lol)

Piracy, although free in concept, can in fact cost quite a bit to the person benefitting from it.

I personally pay about $150/month for a 100Mbit Unlimited Bandwidth/Unmonitored Internet Account, so even though it affords me the luxury of a few 1080p Bluray Rips per day......how are they FREE in the end ?

+1 bitlane

lol @RandyFolds pirates indeed

then go, do what you're good at, and quit talking things you don't understand...

continue try justifying stealing copies of work of others.  it's rather amusing

man, you don't get it do you...
who paid your schooling ? we all did, but you know that already...
what did you, supposedly, learn in your whole life ? a big part of all human knowledge, you obviously did not...
what you give us in return ? your intellectual "creations" based on our previous knowledge...
see where I'm getting at ?  Huh

do I owe you anything? your self-entitlement doesn't know borders, does it? =)

you ow me nothing, you owe us a good laugh and a thread title change into something that doesn't put a "patch" on all of us Wink arrr

you can't build an "industry" on that and even try monetize the communications channel, discs, tape, mp3, whatever

if a copy worthless to you why are you looking for it in the first place ? LOL

If it's worthless, why are you getting so butthurt if someone takes it?

LOL  Grin

I DID NOT CLAIM WORTHLESS , ask another user why he goes to darknets for hunt of worthless in his view material.

Then if you think it's worth something, you should understand why people pirate it.

D-uhh

 Grin

i understand fully why people steal stuff when there is a very little chance of being caught .  obviously not over worthless stuff, but something they can't afford while thinking they are entitled to have it for free

carry on with your meaningless arguments, you could be on the establishment payroll if you ask me, tell your bosses they will never monetize on human communication like they did with on our physical work. You release your work to the public, we recognize you as the creator and will forever remember your name, get over with. If you actually make quality intellectual work everyone will send funds your way and be able to carry on with your work, that simple

communism works great on paper

why you derail the topic ? all ppl are shit scared, indoctrinated, about communism to research on their own what was about anyway

Can you make o joke, sing a song or entertain us somehow ... ? maybe i will send some coins your way if you're good at it  Cheesy

unlike yours my life does not depend on donations

then go, do what you're good at, and quit talking things you don't understand...

worthless because everyone has the same thing, why bother paying you when when i can "borrow" from my family or friends. Add value to every copy and you will see ppl donate or pay to have them. I will never tell my mom, dad or brother to go buy it's own movie, mp3, ever. You can't make me  Shocked

try running real business with real expenses on donations. report back when succeeded.

i will and will try not to use our flawed banking system in the process, i will stick with bitcoin

STFU with your "laws", find a way to monetize on your creations if you're so smart
3615  Other / Off-topic / Re: Piracy on: November 06, 2011, 05:53:59 PM
guys supporting piracy, go pirate open source all you want if you like free so much - i won't say a word.   don't use any copyrighted material if you have no desire to pay for it - it is not made for you.

add value to every "copy", you can't expect to sell worthless copies of your work for ever and get on with your life, we live in a finite world, trying to sell or barter infinite stuff for finite ones doesn't work, you're creating money out of nothing without cost !
yeah agree with you that the starting idea it's yours but try to sell worthless replicas ad infinitum... ppl are not stupid you know

internet it's living the post scarcity age, you can't mix our real material world with it, ever

If a bank starts accepting Bitcoins it means we have already won and further resistance by the banks is futile.

3618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will a real BANK accept Bitcoin ? on: November 06, 2011, 02:22:41 PM
I think it is more likely that an existing Bitcoin exchange will become a government licensed bank rather than the other way around.

that would give bitcoin a boost !

physical banks don't like competition or what we call "free market"
3619  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Me saying hi, bitcoin transaction taking more then 36 hours.. still in process on: November 06, 2011, 01:48:01 PM
Are you sure?

They asked me for a clarification which i gave.. they didn't asked for personal details which i rather not give.

Besides that i am EU based, so does i get involved with US laws? I thought bitcoins where independent.. no central jurisdiction so why should they need my details?

The bitcoins are honest, no fraud or money laundering. However is it traceable? To its origin?

if you refer to the actual coins, yes they are, that's why the system is pseudonymous, you may choose to link to your legal identity if you want but not forced to do so
3620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will a real BANK accept Bitcoin ? on: November 06, 2011, 01:38:27 PM

Why would you want a "government bank" to hold your money?

Most of the bank in America is owned by private shareholders. They are NOT "government" bank.

Ok let me rephrase. Government controlled banks.

Never probably, it's no in their interest, maintaining the actual status quo. You would kill yourself one day if the life of your human fellows depended on it ? Please note the government we have in our times works more like a machine, based on rationale not feelings.
