Forget having to go to Bank of America to use BitInstant through CryptoXChange to deposit into an exchange, make bids and finally withdraw some bitcoins. Being able to drop cash, get coins would bring Bitcoin to the masses.

How about a website that not only lets you deposit cash and instantly get Bitcoins at any bank in the US...but will get you the best price possible since we have reservers at every exchange.

Give us 3 weeks...

-Charlie,
BitInstant.com

waiting forward to it, cheers Yankee  Cheesy

Thanks  Grin You'll be the first to know.

If you do decide to make your system above into something bigger and automated, shoot me a PM and we can integrate it into our system.

You can be sure of that, thanks

Saw the title, and thought I'd be able to buy bitcoins by dropping cash off at an office.

Dang. Sad

Still, seems like a useful service; good luck.

lol, i should change that if it's misleading. Dropping cash at an WU or MoneyGram office to buy bitcoins would be good ?

It would be awesome. Forget having to go to Bank of America to use BitInstant through CryptoXChange to deposit into an exchange, make bids and finally withdraw some bitcoins. Being able to drop cash, get coins would bring Bitcoin to the masses.

I'd go so far as to predict: the first person to allow average people to drop $10 cash within a 30-min. drive and get bitcoins within the hour for a reasonable % fee (I'd do it for 10%-25%, myself) across most of the U.S. is going to get rich.

I agree that it would be awesome but i'm not trying to make any competition to BitInstant here, awesome service btw, only giving the possibility to cash faster in local fiat. It isn't instant, giving that our current system works that way, but pretty fast and you avoid the high fees you pay when making international wires. It can work in reverse too if you want some bitcoins but you will have to use the same time frame, 24-48h.

3054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Epic Fail Currency? 'Occcu' on: February 08, 2012, 09:21:06 PM
lol this thread is epic, researching a bit on the issue before commenting helps allot

One day a guy decides he would create this "decentralized" currency, that sympathizes with Occupy movements, and call it "occcu". Then he calls up some friends and they like the idea so they use an open source platform, Cyclos, to build it because it's easier and host it on a central server too.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize it doesn't have nothing to do with bitcoin at all. Just take a brief look at "Products & Services" on their site and you can easily find who could be behind it by cross-ref some data.
3055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Digital Credits Patent on: February 07, 2012, 08:33:05 PM
...

But what about Bitcoin? Would Bitcoin be immune since there are no balance checks done when a payment is made.

...

Could be, so bitcoin will not fall under Apple's patent because is using "deBits" not credits.

lol sometimes you think too much Phinnaeus, think we are one but we don't know it yet, probably we come from a few "experiments" seeded over the globe, meh. They say people like you and me that have blue eyes are a genetic error too. You are my favorite in this part of the web anyways.

I was wondering how I became pregnant.

(just call me Mr. Twunk-too-Much)

heh  Cheesy
i just remembered, do you still have some bitcoin leather wallets around ? need to renew mine and thinking doing something custom for my android phone too.

Basically, they're all custom orders. Martin is ready to do one for Chicago Cabbie, of which I've paid for out of my own pocket. At the moment, he has one kit left before reordering more.

I thinks he's been doing some custom phone covers lately. I will have to double check, but even if he hasn't, I'll can honestly state that he can do it. He's tooled several custom Laptop cases.

~Bruno~

nice touch the custom laptop cases  Smiley
any chance you know what the shipping to spain could cost ? i'm used to paying the weight of the package as if it where made of gold already. Small example, a Casascius coin cost 7-8$, add shipping 25-30$ and you're golden.

The shipping won't be over $15, if that would help with your decision. Thank you kindly for your interest, paraipan.

~Bruno~

Thanks for looking into it Bruno, i will be ordering some things from you when i decide what i need.
3057  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Deadlines and moving forward (BIP 16/17 support) on: February 05, 2012, 12:27:30 PM
My other major concern is that BIP 16 has not been adequately tested. What is the game plan to put BIP 16 technology into action before the migration? It would be nice to experience its use for a period of time and know that many more programmers and developers had examined/improved the code.
It would be a huge black eye for a few core developers to rush a migration on something they "feel" is ready for prime time only to be followed with "let's revert back" and/or "here's an emergency fix" followed by "here's yet another emergency fix". Solidcoin anyone?

I'm more than willing to donate hashing power on a temporary bitcoin fork for testing purposes.

+1 agree, as a side note the solidcoin resemblance of doing things is quite striking

i don't really get your question. I had the same feeling and i think it was the first song being a bit unrelated and a turnoff but it gets better along the way Smiley

What does the music have to do with anything?  Ok, I watched more of the video, and I don't believe it.  Reproduce the experiments and prove me wrong.  Where is the data for the original experiments?  And why DNA molecules?

Sorry, the Law of Attraction is bogus.

Grin you're funny, i needed a goo laugh man. It's not a real living organism just developers writing code. More than 20 years of GNU compiler colletion (gcc) development are crammed into that video and the data is from their git repository https://github.com/mirrors/gcc

He meant the vid Bruno linked to, in typical dry humour. It's bullshit from a scammer alleged scammer named 'Dr.' Gregg Braden. He writes books mixing metaphysics and quantum-physicky sounding words and people just believe. And pay! At least my colon-cleanser and my naturopath believe it. Me, I don't get sucked in by all that woo-woo crap.

aah, now i get it, meh sucks not being a native english speaker

3060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 16 / 17 in layman's terms on: February 03, 2012, 09:24:44 PM
The safety analogy breaks down because people are dying right now while we debate over which of two airbag systems to install.  And the designers of both systems are in agreement that their own system is better and that the other guy's system is going to maybe cause a disaster in the future.  And everyone else is standing around offering their own opinions of highly variable quality about the good and bad points of both systems, most of which are valid to some extent because neither system is really perfect except maybe in the eyes of the designer.  Meanwhile, people are still dying...

...but if the right decision is made would die less of them.
