I agree, the 99% bar is silly. Everytime I load the app it shows 99% for a minute and then disappears.. Makes me think something's broken.

Bring back the useful progress bar!

+1 agree with this

They should have set up mining farms as well as maybe buying bitcoin on the quiet, so that on March 20th they could start selling oil for bitcoins, driving up the price of bitcoins thus multiplying their secret bitcoin holdings...

Why does it seem unlikely "they" would have that much foresight, I wonder?

Maybe they figure the U.S. would start attacking the bitcoin network as well as the oil shipments?

-MarkM-

Ehem, they would need to understand it and get the "bitcoin rush" first then it will all come with ease. I don't think they have to buy bitcoins or mine them in advance, given they sell a product other nations need, only accept "digital gold" in exchange.

I was thinking to start selling some bitcoins on ebay but after seeing all these people getting scammed i don't think it's a really good idea without taking some measures, pff.

Why not use the postal service then ? ...Some thoughts ?

Using USPS (or any other physical carrier) to deliver items that could be delivered digitally will erode your profit margin.

And unfortunately, even then, the buyer could open a ISNAD case against you and most probably win.

Guess i will stick with the toys i have and leave ebay for the "brave" ones  Smiley

Why not use the postal service then ? Pondering at it for a while i came up with printing priv keys at bitaddress.org then sell as Online Coupons and send them with tracking by post. When the buyers receive the letter i can fund it with bitcoins so they can redeem at mtgox or importing the key into their wallet. Yes, is slow but damn safe. Some thoughts ?

My wife dose knitting

she can knit you an awesome scarf, trust me you wouldn't be disappointed

Can she knit me a black and red scarf with the Bitcoin logo on it?

Dude, Id pay for that!!

something like ? the bitcoin logo would not fit very well, i think. How about a full black scarf with the orange logo ?

Hmm, you have a point there. The back and red may look a little christmas-y as well.

Adam, the black with orange logo doable?

all black with orange bitcoin logo? sure

I still think black and red (mixed together), with a white B (The B with the two lines)would look good

nice, my mother can knit too and would happily do it like you said Yankee, black and red with the blank bitcoin logo as adamstgBit suggested. How would you like it ? two logos on the ends, one in the middle or one on either end ?

A little competition doesn't do any harm Wink

edit: how's this ? .
Logo would fit perfectly when done, so it will not look exactly as in the image, my gimp skills are not to high.

What possible good would come to them for giving you a list of private addresses?...

A great deal of benefits from calming the spirits with backed statements to increased confidence in their company name. We all know those addresses are public, for all of us to see, and only MtGox has them linked to their clients identities. None of that personal info is required to check if stolen coins have been transferred to the exchange in the last 24h only a brief list of the ones that have received funds in this time frame.

@marked bitcoin is different in this matter, last time i checked the public addresses where stored in the blockchain, not much resemblance with a bank's IBAN.

Find the post where I said any addresses were public...

....

Christ. Would someone take the time to explain to paraipan how to use BlockExplorer.com please ...

Addresses are public so this would be MtGox showing good faith pinpointing the ones under their control and rule them out of this with some backing.
2857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica lost 43,554 BTC from Linode compromise, suspicious TXIDs publicized on: March 02, 2012, 12:30:11 PM
@Matthew N. Wright heh, you bet i know you dude, you're one of the most resourceful and intelligent person in this community when you're not trolling off course

Having a list of their receiving addresses in the last 24h would help us a great deal investigating and their legal binding with the clients will not be affected, i'm a client of MtGox too if that matters.

You want a private list of receiving addresses for MtGox customers? Get a warrant. (in Japan, not Spain)

as far as i know and you posted it earlier, the public addresses are... public. We only need MtGox to say this or that was mine in the last 24h.

People who think the dumps at Mt. Gox is the stolen money, are absolutely clueless about everything. Gox takes money laundering more seriously than any other Bitcoin exchange. The thief would be out of his mind to try selling the coins via Gox, not now or ever.

There are better ways to do it. What we're seeing now at Gox is speculators selling because there has been serious bad news in the Bitcoin world. That's about it.

but there is a small possibility that could happen and you have to be really dumb to dismiss it completely  Undecided

Christ. Would someone take the time to explain to paraipan how to use BlockExplorer.com please before he files a police report that MtGox is laundering illegally obtained money in a country out of jurisdiction?

meh, no need for that. disclosing already public info from mtgox would solve any kind of doubt on it, like their receiving addresses in the last 24 hours without any other client info.

Btw I don't get why you're being vocal like that bashing all my statements and personally attacking me, i'm a civilized person and respectful with others and expect the same.

The only thing that would solve any doubts, and back your previous statement, is if you guys publish the public bitcoin addresses, under your control, that received funds in the last 24h, without any kind of other info at all. Can you help us with that ?
