Also it is possibly on mtgox leaked list.
Probably this. OKPAY deals in Bitcoins these days too.

So some unsolicited user sending you an email causes you to believe everything contained therein? BRB, need to send some more 419 emails lol the question is: where did they got my email from (ok thats not that hard): but how did they know i have a login there? maybe its just a pissed employee Nope, 69.194.161.228 is a SolarVPS set up to look like an okpay mail server. Probably your email got guessed by the usual spamming programs, did you see that it was addresses to "AOL User"?

Also you got a lot of TIM residue on the two GPU cores. Give it another splash of Cleaner #1 and some fresh qtips and you can get it spotless.
+1. Those things will shine like a mirror once you have gotten it right - you will be able to see your face in them.

That power distribution PCB is awesome. Wonder how much that part would cost. Looks like it has pairs of 6 and 8 pin connectors.

More power for less hash compared to 5970s.
No, 6990s mine faster than 5970s. But they have a lower Mh/J. OK I should have said WAY more power for a tiny bit more hash, but yeah, they are less efficient.

Just out of curiosity, do you still need those small fans on the Icarus heatsinks? Wouldn't it be sufficient or even better to close the "case" on the top and force the air through the heatsinks? What's the airflow (cfm) of these fans? In case this is suited better for another thread, let me know.
No, that wouldn't work, the Icarus stock heatsinks are way too small for that and need quite a bit of airflow. Even a huge fan sitting next to them (but blowing from the side is barely sufficient, so at least the second-row boards wouldn't be happy with such a setup. Sadly you can't easily swap the heatsinks on these boards... I would think that the turbulence caused by perpendicular airflows would have lesser cooling capability than higher-velocity ducted flow that was relatively linear. So, fans in a push-pull and a cover on the case (clear plexi?) ought to give even better cooling.

I was wondering who would be the first to spot that.

Remember that BFL and their Single already existed before they stumbled onto mining
Citation needed. Although I don't have a link to anything specific, it was a member of chugalug that pointed them our way, when they had an early prototype. I'm sure they have both regretted taking him up, and also embraced the business opportunity, since there was and continues to be so much bullshit and flak from bitcoiners, but also so many orders. The Bitcoiner is an enigma, really. 2 parts asshole to 1 part greedy consumer, for most.

Maybe you should put an end date?
Do you want it? I've PM'd you but not heard anything back. Just PM'd you back. Payment sent Got payment, will ship today. Thanks.

what is the general consensus on 6990's? Are they reliable miners? Power consumption too high? Are they needing constant attention?
Just started in on my first ones, and I am looking for some info.

nope I saw the individual blocks, rig itself wasn't ready yet, but it be built from those singles so . You saw the current "individual blocks" aka 832 MH/s singles 80+ Watt, not the next generation ones? If BFL is using their "own chip" not something off the self, whey do they need to sand off the top? That's just BS in my opinion. They are using a programmable device just like everybody else. It would be quite strange if they would have finances to make their own chips then end up with an 80 Watt device but don't have money to manufacture a couple of mini rigs without taking the customers money 3 months in advance. And how would "their own chip" be programmable with a new bitstream? Unless they are now in the business of competing with Xilinx and Altera and they make their own FPGA devices. Did they really tell you that these are their own chips or did you mean to say something else? There is just so much wrong with BFL's stories it makes my eyes roll. That's what I meant with "secrecy" in my original questions. Instead of asking why all the secrecy I could also be asking why all the BS. Maybe it's cheaper to *not* stamp the logo and info into the packaging? And who knows, maybe they are the next xilinx or altera....

You don't have to answer it if you don't want to, but I'd be interested to know how many rigs/mini-rigs you ordered.

I have a few wooden rigs.. this is the one i just finished today. here is another without risers. another low profile one I removed the front wooden bar on the last one though. I wanted to make sure the heat could escape. Your cloudfront links appear to be broken.

lol... so you are ok with bombs being allowed on a plane ? If you don't like it don't board a plane how about that?
Sorry, I can't help you. You are completely missing the point. Let me ask you this: Is it acceptable for the TSA to stop folks driving on the highway for a random bag screening? It's happening, in case you didn't notice, starting with truckers, continuing to other forms of transport (train), and generally paving the way for a policeman on every doorstep, waiting to grope you on the way out. You like this? I never said TSA was a good thing but they sure aren't taking your "rights away" . Your making it sound like your allowed to do anything you want and all of sudden that is a "police state". Obviously, there is a "reason" for the situation above I mean what sinister thing are you dreaming up that they are doing? Policeman on every doorstep huh ? Facepalm of the year award. Either completely oblivious, wantonly ignorant, or a shill for the government.
