381  Economy / Economics / Re: Opportunities During Economic Downturns? on: February 06, 2024, 10:33:17 PM
While this approach might prove successful in certain countries, others may encounter obstacles such as high operating costs and countless taxes on startups. This is a challenge that discourages local production.
There are also other challenges that may be difficult to tackle. For instance, there is also this bias people may have towards local products thinking that it is not quality enough maybe due to the raw materials used or the production conditions. Most people in some places from observation have preference for imported goods and products.

do you think there are still opportunities during economic downturns?
There are opportunities in almost every situation, there are even opportunities in time of war and crisis. Invest or start up businesses that benefit from inflation like Oil and gas, Transportation, large wholesale/retail outlet for everyday items etc. Those businesses can benefit from inflation if properly managed.

What an unfair game for Alvarez. I watched the first half and he was shooting from all angles, had about 3-4 shots on goal, and looked more dangerous than Halaand, so I was confident he would score, but I was surprised when I saw the final score and neither Halaand nor Alvarez was on the score sheet.
Mark Flekken was exceptional in the first half of the game, he made many saves, but we knew it was not going to continue. Fodens first goal was not an uncalculated snap shot, he was composed and at close range, that's why he was able to beat Flekken.

Maybe I should behave stick to KDB, Foden and Halaand. (Another Maybe story)
Next game will be against Everton, I expect these three players to start because Foden has earned it, and Pep will want KDB to play many game so he can be back to best early for the rest of the season and Halaand too to score in that game.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 05, 2024, 10:53:28 PM
Alvarez amd KDB start imo, Haaland from bench. Or KDB bench and Haaland starts. Alvarez looks like a definite starter to me at least for tomorrow.
Alvarez, KDB and Haaland all start and only Haaland gets subbed off almost at the end of the day. KDB with an assist, Haaland too, both for Phil Foden.

Haaland not yet looking as sharp as he was, but he will get there and back scoring again with a few more games. He had a good chance to beat Brentford's goalkeeper Flekken, but Flekken was having a very good game.
384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The "loaded slots" scam on: February 04, 2024, 05:33:07 PM
But surprisingly it's made a resurgence.
There's scammy ads and promotions all around. Someone claiming that if you pay them x amount of money, they'll give you some very secretive sets of information about what slot games to play and when, in order to get surewins.
There are two sets of people that will fall victims to this we have the desperate people and then the greedy people in gambling.

Desperate people will be victims to this because they have lost so much and are just looking for ways to win as compensation at least for the many losses that they have handled, so when this kind of information comes to them, they really want to believe it is true and will want to try.

Greedy people have not lost much, may not have even gambled but because they hear this kind of information, they see it as a way to make easy money, so they are easy to convince and quick to pay these scammers.  Be a gambler, but do not be desperate and greedy at the same time.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another Two Category Of Gamblers That We Are Not Aware Of on: February 04, 2024, 04:27:58 PM
Action Gambler
Quote
Action gamblers are usually domineering, controlling, manipulative men with large egos. They see themselves as friendly, sociable, gregarious and generous. Their average IQ is over 120. They are energetic, assertive, persuasive and confident. In spite of all this, they usually have low self-esteem. Historically, they started gambling at an early age, often in their teens, by placing small bets on sporting events or playing cards with friends or relatives. They progress through the four phases of the disorder over a ten to thirty year time span. Action compulsive gamblers gamble primarily at “skill” games such as poker or other card games, horse and dog racing and sports betting. These gamblers dominate both legal and illegal sports betting.
I reason action gambling to be the gamblers who thrive on the adrenaline rush that gambling gives to them. The really enjoy the thrill.

Escape Gamblers
Quote
Escape compulsive gamblers share some of the same characteristics as the Action gambler:
Low self esteem
Become liars
Manipulative
Evolve through four stages: Winning-Losing-Desperation-Hopeless (although the winning stage is quite different for Escape gamblers.)
Compulsive gambling can be arrested through treatment and self-help programs.
I reason escape gamblers to be the gamblers who started gambling as a way to escape the realities (hard conditions) they faced or are facing. They see gambling as something comforting that they can derive escape and relaxation from. Because gambling to escape gamblers is being influenced by the difficult situation the gambler is facing which they need escape from, so if their situation improves, they can actually stay away from gambling for a while, or for as long  as their situation remains good, hence the reason why their compulsive gambling can be arrested more easily.
386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media is a breeding ground for scamers, be intelligent while you explore on: February 04, 2024, 03:41:40 PM
The social apps is unsafe to be a place where a newbie can get good knowledge about cryptocurrency. It is good to recommend people to learn from the Bitcoin talk communit or any other Bitcoin educational material that is legit.
There is no social media app that there are no scammers, even in this forum, there are scammers looking for opportunity to scam anybody who lets their guard down in the forum. You see scammers on this forum offering to help people recover their lost bitcoins, putting up ridiculous offers and adding their telegram links for gullible and tempted forum members to contact them etc. Scammers can appear to have any profile because they can hack and steal the profile of anyone and then use it for their nefarious acts.

People lie a lot on social media, can claim to be anyone to just get your trust. Be intelligent and do not trust easily.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If a addict lives within, which method would you choose to help them on: February 04, 2024, 02:25:13 PM
1. Talk to them and don't leave their side for too long, show them some love and make sure they don't have anything to do with gambling ever again, be soft and gentle with them.

2. Be harsh about it, force them to quit, let them know that gambling isn't this safe, bounce on them all the time because you love them, don't go any soft on them, because been soft won't make them see reasons why it's bad to be a gambling addict.
The two methods will work depending on the person. But the less likely to work out of the two methods is the second. I believe that we cannot achieve much when trying to help someone change a habit by use of force or harsh method. If you want to help them, get them professional help, so they can see reason why the habit they are picking up will be bad for them.

If you are harsh about correcting some kind of habits like this, your family or friend that you are trying to correct may react obstructively to your correction, pretend like they have taken correction and continue the habit in secret. Correction has to be carefully and decisively done.

Has Hee Chan returned from the Asian Cup?
Not yet, he is still on International duty with Son for his country South Korea, they have qualified for the next round in that competition. Wolves must really miss him because he is one of those players who could have made a difference in Wolves's last game against Manchester United and their game today against Chelsea.

Chelsea will be on a quest to get back to winning after Liverpool sat and schooled them in the last game.

My FPL trip this season has been terrible, with too many poor captaincy decisions - I gave Gordon the captain, and Nigga made an assist before being substituted at halftime.
My Captain Is KDB, I am confident in his ability, he scored me a solid 14pts from last GW, and so far I do not see any reason why Pep will not use him.

Crazy penalty shootout between Cape Verde and South Africa  Cheesy
Great performance from that South African keeper.
It's been a very long time since I saw such a penalty shootout. I just chanced on seeing the match this evening when it was already on extra time.
Ronwen Williams saved four penalty kicks, won it for South Africa. He psychologically defeated the Cape Verde players who saw how good he was with the saves and became tense taking their kicks. The South African Goal keeper had obviously practiced a lot for penalty situations because he looked well prepared.

Cape Verde was one of the best teams in this competition, they played as a team and should be proud of their achievement from this competition although they failed to make it to the semi finals which if they had would have been the first time in their history.

South Africa are very good with counter attacks, Nigeria has to be weary of that when we meet on the 7th of this month. It will also be a game between the best goalkeepers of this competition, because asides Williams, Nwabali is also very good.

The Nigeria vs South Africa matchup has been teased for a while now on the streets of Twitter Football community for Afcon. It's finally happening.
The Amapiano battle, If Nigeria wins, we take ownership of their Amapiano Cheesy
390  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buy ideas on: February 03, 2024, 10:49:31 PM
Added
When I use the term BUY, I'm relating to the exchange of pleasant ideas that means contributing in terms of advise and sharing of informations that will help improve our knowledge on certain fields.
There are people who are stingy with ideas, they are never interested in sharing and exchanging information but only trying to get the little idea and information that you have. These kinds of people need to be avoided because their intention is to suck you dry. Sit with winners, sit with people who discuss and share ideas, not people who discuss other people,  and you will notice that there will be a considerable change and improvement in your life.

Most people will always go with their own idea in every circumstances thinking is the best solution to their problem whereas there are times we seek solutions from others, backed with the saying Two good heads are better than one.
It will be a mistake to reason and think that your idea is always the best. If you have a team of people that you work with or people who you can consult for their own ideas, always ask for their ideas and opinions, to get the best.
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making informed decisions is our responsibility on: February 03, 2024, 10:24:17 PM
One thign I am sure that we cannot neglect as crypto enthusiast is the our need to continually be informed and make good decisions, to be a part of a fast growing and information based space like ours(crypto space) does come with a responsibility that all of us must bear for ourselves and that is to seek knowledge.
Knowledge is constantly being refined, new research will reveal that some knowledge we have are becoming obsolete, and there is a need to stay informed. Failure to stay informed puts you at risk of making decisions based on old knowledge and information, and that makes you more prone to making wrong decisions.

This forum helps a bit with providing up to date information, it is now your responsibility to make sure you are a reader.

Then as a forum member, do not only depend on the forum for information, be actively engaged in other channels, podcast, etc that always have new and current information on cryptocurrency and bitcoin, so you are always fresh with knowledge.
392  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: As a trader never settle for less on: February 03, 2024, 10:10:52 PM
As a bitcoin  trader and holder one should never settle for less
The saying that Never settle for less is common saying used often by people in reference to different situations, to traders and trading, it is a 80% true and an applicable statement. As a trader, you should never settle for a strategy that is less, not earning enough profits from trading with your many effort. It is your responsibility and duty to always try to improve on your strategy as a trader by devoting to learning and interaction with other traders. If you settle for the strategy that earns you less, you are the one limiting yourself from getting more. Do not settle for less, do not settle for the bare minimum.

From the very moment "S. Adingra" of Ivory Coast scored an equalizing goal at 90 minutes into the match, I knew that was the beginning of a U-turn for Ivory Coast players, because the mistake the Malian team made was to feel relax after scoring their first goal at 71 minutes by "N. Dorgeles", and not plan to score a second one, but yet gave chances, and now paying for the costly mistake they made, as the match finally ended in victory of "Ivory Coast", a team we already lost hope has gone lost the game tonight, not until "O. Diakite" proved us all wrong with a brilliant goal 122 minutes into the game, hence preventing any need for penalty kick.
That was a very painful exit for Mali, they were already just preparing their minds for penalty kicks, but Ivory Coast never stopped believeing that they could win it, and they did. Maybe the prediction of a final between Nigeria and Ivory Coast will be what we will see.

Cape Verde is drawn with South Africa, and it will be another game to either be decided by extra time or penalty kicks. The winner of this game will determine who Nigeria will be preparing for next in the Semi Finals.

Lookman is one very key player in this Super Eagles team and he’s on his way to becoming the MVP of the tournament as he needs probably a goal and maybe an assist to his name. He’s currently having 3 goals and an assist to his name and he’s looking unstoppable. Well he was raised in England and played in the Engalnd U-21 but yet chose Nigeria senior team and yes his positive impact is being felt in the team. He’s not just being felt at the Super Eagles camp but also his club side, Atalanta as he remains a key part of their attack.
You see Lookman, you see a hungry player, you see Osimhen, you see a passionate player. These two players have been very important to the Nigerian attack.
394  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Difference between bitcoin investment and trading on exchange on: February 02, 2024, 11:35:35 PM
And then the last one na say the skill way you need to get for bitcoin investment na say you need to understand how to identify long-term trends for the markets, but for trading on exchange you need to understand how to focus and analyze short term movement of the price so that you go fit execute your trades when you suppose execute them.

If you say skill is required to invest in bitcoins, so potential investors may never invest because to them learning a new skill may be difficult.

Do you really require a skill to invest in bitcoins? I don't think so. You only need to knowledge on how to invest, that is where to buy bitcoins and then knowledge on how to keep the bitcoins you will buy safe from theft and loss.

Investment in bitcoins should also be for the long-term.

395  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learning comes before earning on: February 02, 2024, 11:20:52 PM
Many newborns trader have always made this types of great mistakes all they just wanted is to just flex without hard work and I gist it doesn’t work like that.
If you just want money without the work involved in trading, then you will easily be drawn to pay and subscribe for signal groups that will just be giving you signals to make profit from. You can never become extremely successful trading if you depend on signal groups to trade, but you will just be turned into a dependent trader. A newbie to trading needs to understand even before they start the learning process to trade that it involves long term learning to be very successful as a trader. As a new trader, focus on learning first, do not be under pressure to want to start earning in a short time of just knowing basic trading methods and strategies.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be stolen? on: February 02, 2024, 07:25:06 PM
It turns out that Bitcoin stealers target not only big companies but individual users with modest amounts in their crypto wallets.
Everyone is a target, the moment you choose to start investing in bitcoins, you make yourself a target.

Now bitcoin is one of the safest way to invest digital currency. Because of its new and improved security system it makes it hard for hackers and thief to access
It is hard to steal, but not impossible. As an investor, don't ever think your investment too safe that you start becoming careless about safety.

So now the question is bitcoin safe from hackers?, can it be stolen,
Bitcoin can be stolen and not only by hackers, your bitcoins can be stolen by friends, your family or even people you may never suspect.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 02, 2024, 06:44:27 PM
Moses Simon has been one man with a lot of surprises, from his pace and  his body movement, and to cap it all, he gave the assist for lookman to score. looking at the Nigerian team every focus is majorly on victor osimhen but the angolans are forgetting that osimhen might just be a distraction, while lookman and moses simon are doing the job.
Simon have been the most active player for Nigeria, he has really played his role. I am disappointed with Zaidu and Iwobi who I see as the weakest links in this Nigerian team. Nigeria lead by just a goal which is not safe, we need another goal in this game to feel safe because Angola are still in the game and can change things in a split second. Osimhen playing well but not as active as he was against Cameroon. Lookman remains our best finisher so far. It will be big if Nigeria make it through.
398  Economy / Economics / Re: Coping with Risk. on: February 02, 2024, 11:51:27 AM
so my question is, which is more risky?

A). Running a physical business that has a whole lot of risk associated with it or

B) running an online investment with high risk of hack that could result in you loosing all your asset.

Venturing into something you have no experience, knowledge and no one to guide you will increase the risk you stand to face and your chances to fail or victim a victim of loss.

If you just choose a business to start and a location to establish the business, and you did not make proper enquiries about the business you are starting, the challenges involved and security situation of the place where you are establishing the business, so you can know the security measures to use, you have increased risk in your physical business and reduced your chances of profiting well. If it is online investment, and you are not aware of the risk, you have made it more risky for you.

A business person with more knowledge on physical investments will consider it less risky to online investment where he has no real idea, and likewise an online investor.
399  Economy / Economics / Re: Why does a country borrow money from the world bank even when they can afford it on: February 02, 2024, 08:36:29 AM
Question: Why does the independent, developed and  productive countries still borrows money from the World Bank even when they have enough to execute their excused reasons given why they have to borrows the money?
Some of the countries borrowing do not actually have the money to execute the projects they want without affecting other sectors of their economy, so there is nowhere to pull out money from, and instead of printing more money which they can, they choose to borrow instead from world bank and other countries that can lend to them to avoid having too much of their money in circulation that can lead to inflation.

I am interested about this because in my country, we are independent and a productive country with revenues ought to be contented enough to execute the projects in demands of what they still borrows from the World Bank for and yet there is no economical improvements in the country instead we are running economical backwards.
In your country, there are corrupt leaders borrowing for no reason and embezzling borrowed funds meant to execute projects.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rigging in sports:My Personal Perspective and discussion finding sus. sports on: February 01, 2024, 04:14:27 PM
how will this affect a gambler that's very responsible?
Although wins and losses in gambling are normal things that happen to every gambler, you will be concerned as a gambler and it will bother you if a certain sportbooks you play on or league you see as attractive has been flagged as having cases of of fraud in sports like match fixing and other forms of rigging.
You will be bothered because you know that winning has no longer been left to the future to decide, and chances of you winning is no longer fair when you are just predicting and making choices based on mere analysis.
