Back on the generator, not because of scheduled infrastructure upgrades but because of a freak voltage dip that seems to affect our entire neighborhood. Some stuff works, some doesn't. We need the generator for the air conditioner but our internet works fine and some of our LED lights work while some are dead and others flicker.

low voltage is really hard on motors/compressors. as in easy to burn them out as they will try to draw more amps to compensate.

(modern) solid state stuff is much more tolerate of low voltages as modern switching power supplies run from like 90 volts and up.

We are no longer distributing tasks. The SETI@home message boards will continue to operate, and we'll continue working on the back-end data analysis. Maybe we'll even find ET!

Thanks to everyone for your support over the years. We encourage you to keep crunching for science.

Bitcoin is getting ready for another move higher imo… looks like its been climbing the bulltard steps over the past week… or it might dump through the floor but I higher doubt it with the domino bank debacle just getting stated!
30k$ target price within 5 days imho   Grin

Sitting at 24,790$
You are more optimistic then me we have had a lot of bad news in the last 7 days and I think it will keep the price where it is at currently. I think April might be our best bet to escape the $25000 resistance but I cannot be sure. The Silicon Valley Bank and another Swiss bank in Europe having trouble has helped Bitcoin gain a little more price recently but I do not think it will be enough until more banks announce their failures in the next couple of months.

this is where you find that honeybadger doesnt give a fuck

The interest bet placed by SVB was likely an act of extreme stupidity or

financial sabatoge.

The financial decisions by SBF were either extreme stupidity or financial sabatoge.

pattern does not look good.

long term hodlers dont use hope as a stratagy.  we know how good the corn is and have proved it.. or we would not hodle through ~70k with a relaxed smile.

394  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else agree that mtgox payout is keeping bitcoin down? on: March 09, 2023, 01:47:56 PM
Still getting mixed reports about MtGox. Many are speculating it will get delayed again and payouts for later in the year.

i just noticed the deadline for registering accounts needed for payout has been extended again.. from 10 MAR to 06 APR. at least thats what the mtgox site now says. havent seen anything else but im not looking too hard either.

396  Economy / Reputation / Re: who is JayJuanGee is he or she a human? on: March 07, 2023, 10:43:41 PM
@JayJuanGee definitely a human But he/she is a hard worker.  And because of this, he is considered as a reputable & special person in the forum. He/she uses some shortcut method due to which he/she can done any of his work quickly be it merit sending or anything else. Compared to him/his, we are very weak and less intelligent, so we cannot work as fast as him and we find his work incredible. DdmrDdmr is also a person like him/his

you forgot his most important contribution to the forum: his (probably patented) "bat slap"

be afraid

doesnt that say what we already know? reusing addresses Bad because public key exposed etc. so what? always use new address. isnt that basically considered best practice already?

I knew, that quantum computers can crack the private key, if the public key is known. With this attack they don't need quantum computers anymore.

i know that as long as no public key is exposed nothing, not even quantum stuff, can get it. but once the public key is known (watch for them in the mempool) its a race as to whether the attacker can crack your private key and take over that tx (rbf), before it gets mined into the blockchain.

thats my basic understanding. feel free to correct me.
