Don't get me wrong I'm happy to be wrong. Just a frustrating market for hodling with constant dumps on every rise and  other coins mooning everywhere.

and you registered in 2013? you should be immune.

Just pay the premium or you can use Youtube vanced. You have low-cost and free options not to see ads. And not to get pissed off.

Pay to remove ads? Fuck that, I'd rather be pissed.

lol

but i pay some things just because my attention span doesnt last even through, say, a 15 second ad never mind any effort i need to do to skip something. my time is more valuable.

i dont do youtube btw. i hadly watch any videos on stuff i prefer summaries or transcripts.. stuff i can read, i get more info faster reading vs watching something in real time.

anyway you can fit a 1/4 mile drag strip on one of the straightaways? bonus points if its your driveway too.

Actually, yes. The driveway will be *AT LEAST* serving as a straightaway 1/4 mile drag strip before hitting the bridge leading towards the main parcel of land.

Difficulty factor: Roaming, grazing cattle. Will need to find some way of making sure the cattle are completely isolated from the driveway and racetrack.

i always dreamed of having my own race track myself but i aint anywhere to the point i could pull one off lol. difficulty factor here is mainly deer jumping out from the treeline into the road/track and a LOT of blind corners (trees again) plus elevation changes to spice it up. and while i have a phrase about not needing brakes under my avatar brakes and handling would be key in any track i design.

looking forward to progress reports man (within opsec of course).
1365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 02, 2021, 08:16:50 PM
Them: "Wait, so, you want to build a racetrack, through a 100-year floodplain ?"
Me: "Yeah, 1% chance per year. That means I have a 99% chance, decreasing, of using it every year until I die. I'll play those odds."
Them: * Look on face of "Is this polite black man serious ?" *
Me: "Yes. I'm absolutely serious. Around the perimeter of the property. Please make sure we are abiding by easement rules for the properties next to us. We'll need a cross-section for the race-track intersecting the driveway."
Them: "You have obviously given this a lot of thought."
Me: "Yes."

Also, go Corn !!!

anyway you can fit a 1/4 mile drag strip on one of the straightaways? bonus points if its your driveway too.

GME plummeted to ~$81.27 before rising back up again, now at $100. I saw some posts on WSB showing that this was observed during the Volkswagen short squeeze too. Could this be an indicator of anything, or just a dip?

so down ~80% from the $450ish ATH? sure, a dip for ants maybe.

edit: thanks for the price check, just bought some more.
1367  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 02, 2021, 04:40:50 PM
They shouldn’t wait for that squeeze ever to happen, but demand delivery of the share certificates. That’s what will blow up this whole thing.

wsb more or less says the gme thang may take only few days and physical paper certs would take too long to send and cash out. so hold in electronic form at a broker to cash out post hast if needed.

most seem to be in for the fiat moneyz, not the paradigm shift that btc is. some will understand though.
1368  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 02, 2021, 02:18:25 PM
As far as i have understood it: Robinhood is ONLY giving you a margin account. So they are allowed to liquidate your margin long position, if the prices moves against you.

rh allows cash accounts too, so if you dont use margin youre ok afaik. at least they havent done anything to my cash buy stuff (including $gme) and i do know they did liquidate margins stuff on $gme (and some others i believe) at pretty much any price they chose.

agree on the Do Not Use bit, but did have fun playing there for a while. i wonder if they will survive this.
1369  Economy / Economics / Re: The GameStop drama and what does it mean for Bitcoin on: February 02, 2021, 02:43:51 AM
It's going to add some short term volatility to BTC trading, that's for sure.

But other than that, what people in WSB are doing has nothing to do with one asset in particular. The influencers are all trying to push their own agendas and using Wall St. vs Main St. as a front to orchestrate pump and dumps one way or another.

It's just that cryptos and bitcoin are going to be very easy targets as they are so accessible to retail investors. Again, for long term holders, this news means absolutely nothing.

and just like some noobs to r/wallstreetbets that listen to the bots and shills (short $SLV!!!) and will likely get rekt many noobs to the crypto world will be led astray to alts instead of btc.

Huh. Just got an email inviting me to join the "Gemini Earn" program. Can receive up to 7.4% APY on my BTC balance.

Currently earning 3.05% on my BTC balance. Guessing the rate goes up as the balance does.

Likely to move some BTC over to Gemini custody for a bit, and see how that works out with larger amounts than the sats I've been stacking, with my degenerate buying activities.

This is sorta kinda a big deal.

i didnt get one but then again i only have a small amount there and ive only been with gemini for a few months. sounds interesting though might be worth parking a bit of coin there (that ones willing to lose of course).

sucks to be a bitcoin plankton like me lol we miss out on the cool stuff.

edit

cool

1371  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 01, 2021, 11:35:33 AM
Since we all like to shit on Robin Hood they might be liquidating their assets to cover their losses. Hmm wtf is this bitcoin on our balance sheets anything legally preventing us from running it at a fractional reserve to cover our short term capital gap??? /conspiracy

i just sold my bitcoin IOUs on robinhood, i had a tiny bit there. pity, bought it to help rh promote bitcoin, but ya gotta wonder how their assets are sloshing around the company in this drama.

1372  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 31, 2021, 01:39:01 AM
WSB crowd (at least some) would do this, imho:
gme-->doge-->btc

some maybe. others would do

gme-> doge-> short aapl leveraged 500x -> GUH!

GUH! seems to be the endgame.

i think they just want to break wall street. after that it will be like the dog that finally catches the car it chases. just sit there smugly until they think of breaking something else.

i like them.
1373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer GME/USD - Stonks price movement tracking & discussion on: January 30, 2021, 01:35:38 AM

yeah good stuff over in wsb land. they really lit the fuse on something.. dunno what but im sure its gonna be entertaining. and ive got me some stonks i like lol cant resist
1374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 29, 2021, 04:52:12 PM
Why i dont see this thread active when bitcoin or the market dumps , FOMO exist also in this topic lol

cuz we are always hung over from the parties for weeks after any uppity moves. so some of us arent conscious to notice the smaller (less than say 50%) dumps
1375  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 29, 2021, 12:19:11 PM

1376  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 28, 2021, 07:23:58 PM

same, ive got several stonks on RH that are "sell only" now lol. at r/wallstreetbets they are all going "HOLD DONT SELL!!!" its like yeah, hold my beer.. ill hold that stuff to zero just for the fun.

1377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2021, 07:43:24 PM
Having too much fun being utterly degenerate longing $GME and $AMC. Be back next week.

new hobby?

gotta admit, the lulz are worth the price of admission.
1378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2021, 02:52:24 PM
Price action sucks at the moment, looks like we’re about to go under $30,000. I hope we don’t go too low, there must be some buying pressure somewhere close to the current price. Who the hell is selling?

HODL

i had a buy trigger at ~$29.7k like 10 minutes ago

everyone selling btc to buy GME lol

i must admit this GME stockmarket game looks like fun.
1379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2021, 12:41:37 PM
I have taken notice of the value of quiet time to ponder and do nothing.  It took years to notice this something that I was doing all the time, but now I take advantage of it to solve complex problems.   While working on large data structures, or complex digital/analog circuits, if I come across a tough obstacle, I set it aside for later. ... Then I go for a walk, or just sit and find a book to read, or tinker with something else.  In a few hours the solutions to the tough complex problem come pouring in.  I usually write them down on paper as quickly as possible so as not to forget.

Thus, I have learned how to find solutions to some tough engineering problems with zero effort, I just let the subconscious do all the work.  I apply this every now and then.

this approach has largely worked for me when faced with something im stuck on. the harder i think about it the less gets solved. however if i time out and think on nothing - ie look out the window and watch the leaves or birds or landscape - when all that deliberate  thought "noise" in my head is removed by putting my brain in neutral.. usually *pop* a solution or at least a better approach pops in my head.

it like a signal to noise ratio. i have to remove the noise (my spinning thoughts about the problem) and suddenly the signal (a solution) is clear.

hard to explain, easy to do once you know. but to anyone watching you stare out the window you look like youre goofing off or something.

I'm strongly considering quitting my job, and doing something, anything else while living off crypto for the foreseeable future. This is the first day of work after a 2 week break, and instead of being "refreshed" and ready to work, all I can think is the break wasn't nearly long enough. Despite finding the work deeply unfulfilling, my job is stable and pays pretty well (a quick Google search says I'm in the top 97% within my state).

Probably the biggest thing holding me back is losing the structure that comes with the daily grind. I'm not completely confident I have the necessary self-discipline to create my own structure over the long-term, and while there are a lot of things I want to do (contribute to open source crypto software, write a novel, go back to school, etc), there's the non-zero chance I end up wandering aimlessly without purpose until wasting away.

Has anyone else gone through this or a similar thought process? This might be the only place (that I know of) with people who could relate.

Actually, I quit my job to get away from structure. I hate structure. I want to be able to go to bed whenever I want, get out of bed whenever I want and do nothing at all in between. And that's pretty much what I have been doing for almost four years now, and I love it.

Edit: sorry three years it is.

this, basically. i always had enough hobbies and interests to never be bored working or not. and you may find areas of interest that you never would of though of once you dont need to keep someone elses schedule. once your time is truly yours and not someone elses you might be surprised where your wanderings take you. i havent worked for years and never have had more fun and new interests. its vastly more satisfying to invest your time into your projects rather than try to fit your lifestyle around some corporations daily schedule.
