Watching $48,500. If we go over that decisively, it seems the correction is over.

but but muh maths and sciences.. im not done panic buying yet!

Don't worry about math & science. They've been taken care of by the Proud Honey.

i feel safer already!

1307  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Cashing out a paper wallet made in 2013 on: March 01, 2021, 01:25:52 AM
as charles-tim mentioned, i dont think bitaddress.org around that time (or any time maybe) used seed words, it only generated private keys and public addys. at least thats what i remember when i made paper wallets back then.

I am going to remodel one of my bathrooms this year and a key reason is to put a power outlet near the toilet so I can try one of those $300 Japanese heated, vented, powder your ass with gold bidets.

I'm not as hyped on them as some but they are definitely an incremental improvement and well worth having. Definitely a TP saver too (though I can't convince the rest of my family to use it so savings are nominal). Using it through the recent cold-snap, I can't say I care about the water being heated but blow-drying would probably be nice.

on electric bidets the heated seat is nice too.

well also adjustable water temp, pressure, water pattern and more things than ones really wants to think about are pretty nice features too. just dont use any high power or turbo modes unless you really mean it.
1309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, I salute your final ATH. on: February 28, 2021, 08:16:12 PM
I love you proudhon.

I sold 8k worth at 58000 just because of you

And I am now buying little pieces as it drops before it moves up to  the next ATH of 90k

As I read your post I was about to confirm you, but then no.

im sure he meant 9k, which is below your 10k figure.. so - proven with facts, maths and science x 2

anyway i panic bought some at 43.3k as i dont wanna miss out on being rekt like the rest of the lemmings
1310  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 28, 2021, 12:07:26 PM
I liked the almost 60k feeling, I felt rich, now not so much.

Edit: I even started buying soft 4 ply toilet paper, back to the cheap generic recycled stuff again.

look at mr money bags here, able to afford tp in any form. i just keep an old wood rasp i found on the side of the road next to the toilet for that task.

I did another round of rigorous confirmed calculations this morning based on the best math and science and I can confirm that the irrational exuberance is over and we are entering the final and most dismal correction.

no worries. we are pretty good at screaming like little girls while we panic sell.

well mostly

It's a Hot Wheels "Twin Mill". I can't believe someone built one...

In the US, any financial advisor will typically be a finra registered person, and ive never met one who was free to hold or recommend to another an unregistered security ie bitcoin.

they have not recommended it to anyone afaik (not like i asked though). their clients are asking them.

they knew i had some and advised me to sell at least a very good sized chunk when i 1st went with them. which is what i expect from them, from their standpoint it was truly too high a risk back then. so they did their job advice wise. i use them for low risk traditional stuff. i always joked with them that i had the high risk investment side covered via btc.

Today is a big day for me. Thanks to BTC, and partially to you all here, I am debt-free today. I quit my job, and I paid off ten years of debt, now I own my house and a few acres in the clear.
My wife and I live fairly simply. Old paid-for cars (that I can fix), no cable TeeVee. A large garden and a small shooting range in the back yard.

I quit smoking cigarettes, and DCA that amount into BTC. Doing this payoff burned a big chunk of the corn, but  it is a better thing to do for myself, now. We won't be wealthy, but this is the American dream for me. YMMV.

its a good feeling hitting a major milestone like that. congrats man. as far as burning a decent chunk of corn in exchange for that, well i did pretty much the same, sold a chunk for like 12k years ago that pretty much officially cemented our retirement. havent looked back since.

stack when you can now go off and enjoy yourselves Cheesy
1318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 24, 2021, 11:53:07 AM
If you have been in bitcoin for a while, but you are relatively young, and you feel disappointed with the size of your stash, you would still be way ahead of the vast majority of the worlds population because ONLY a small number of people both know about bitcoin and have taken measures to stack sats, and as I have frequently stated, in traditional circles, there have been a lot of people who had spent 30 years or more trying to accumulate wealth and some more successful than others, and if you end up being able to increase the chances that you will be successful by investing in sound money (surely referring to bitcoin here) and even to significantly cut down the timeline (maybe even cutting in half) to become richie or able to live off your investments, then you would be way ahead of a lot of people

a bit ago, just after btc had hit 35k or so i think, i talked to my main financial guy whom i hadnt spoken with for a while, maybe 6+ months or so. 1st words outta her mouth were "congrats on your bitcoin call!" she was truly impressed. said more clients are asking them about btc and theyre slowly learning it. said its still a hard thing to grasp from the olde skoole point of view but once traditional finance peeps get more involved it should get interesting. of course their clients dont want the trouble of holding and using btc itself. just as an investment thing. so 3rd party all the way.

but maybe some will truly understand and actually buy the btc instead of some eft or whatever thing that is offered.

so lets say miners are the gate keepers. if your fee meets their criteria you are in. if not, increase fee to try again or go home.

No, there is no well defined criteria, only a bidding war which drives the cost up in unhealthy ways.

then we more or less agree as the criteria changes constantly. but well defined or not you still need to meet it, and currently that criteria is mainly highest fees get priority. im fine with this.

but once institutional players come in big time and start sloshing institutional sized millions of dollars per tx all day long they wont care about the fee as its just a business expense. thus the fees will become institutional sized too. imo of course.

BTC destruction derby, while i was on the road  Shocked

However, as a 2018 veteran, i smelled the stink of red candles in the morning, sold half my "trading reserve" at around $49k - $50k (IIRD), which will be used for living anyway and already paid off for some weeks now. Bought back at a little under $46k.

i had several buys pop off lowest was ~45.5k

helps that i actually paid (a very small amount of) attention to price the last couple weeks and tweaked ladders a bit every couple days instead of every few weeks.
