Another question, is there only guide for setting up nodes or is there an official one from the team? What about trusted windows wallets?
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: August 03, 2017, 05:20:15 PM
Got a node up and running for XEL, what ports does XEL use?

I was able to start a heat node but I am not able to forge.
 After I type the command "read -s KEY ; curl -k -s "http://localhost:7733/api/v1/mining/start/${KEY// /%20}?api_key=" ; unset KEY" and input my api key, I get a blank in which I input my passphrase, it returns the error: {"errorDescription":"Unknown account","errorCode":3}

Is there anything else I need to edit in the heat.properties file or am I doing something wrong? The node starts ok but it won't let me forge.

Maybe you have to complete sync first.

But it is synced, everything is done by the guide.

I keep getting the error, how about dev explains what the error means?

{"errorDescription":"Unknown account","errorCode":3}

Dev should know since he is the one who coded this.
You have to do the following:
Type the command "read -s KEY ; curl -k -s "http://localhost:7733/api/v1/mining/start/${KEY// /%20}?api_key=your_api_key_here" ; unset KEY"
press ENTER. After that input your secret phrase for your account (not your API key) and finally press ENTER again.

In the command above, replace your_api_key_here with the API key which you have defined in the file conf/heat.properties

I got it running, it was a very simple mistake.

The guide works, just got confused in one step.

Thanks

Got some XEL finally.

Which wallet is better to withdraw XEL to and what is required to run a node? I have an extra RPi1 laying around I could use if possible.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: August 02, 2017, 04:49:06 PM
+1 . Every time it comes up it is either brushed under the carpet or outright silence. Its the one thorny issue remaining for NEM and its not going away.
There was some good suggestions brought up before such as preloading a trezor or Legder with the fund/stakeholders which im such either Ledger or Trezor would be more than happy to implement and administer. Any claims could be made through them and any unclaimed after a period of time transferred to the community fund.

Aye. It's properly weird, like the subject that dare not speak its name but it's hardly the height of controversy. It was a silly idea to start with that was never going to be very workable. If they wanted to do it all they had to do was sell it in a straightforward manner. It should've been squashed within the opening months.

It can't sit there forever so I wonder when it is going to be addressed.

That community fund is worth a whole lot more now, maybe they are just enjoying the nice Scandinavian weather right now and will be back on the job after summer.

Have you had transactions in and out of the account? Is the balance over 1440 blocks old? Are you sure your passphrase and apiKey are correct?

Yes, it's a genesis account and yes.

And you write your apiKey in the command after? ?api_key=

yes, its ubuntu 17 and I have not set up a firewall yet or ports. Maybe thats the issue, it was with a different coin's node setup so maybe it's the same for heat?

I finally got to buy some XEL, I had been waiting patiently for this.  Cool

What is the minimum to run a node for XEL?

Are you still working on this coin? Or is it possible to do a swap to the new GOOD karma?

Bump this, I have KARMA token on counterwallet.

Which one is the current karma?

Is this project still alive?

Yes, go over to the Newbium thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1418497.0

NXTTY will still play a part of Newbium's future.

I think the masternode started but it is not showing on the list.

I checked the masternode with the debug command and it shows "Masternode started remotely".
Also the masternode explorer shows it as active but nothing generated.

I have the ports configured correctly, but it keeps going offline.

I am also using the lastest wallets, the VPS I am running has 1gb in memory maybe I need more memory?

It seems to go offline as soon as it stakes some coins.

That sounds weird, with 2.1 when it says the masternode is started I can leave them for days without a problem.  Another good thing to try is the ./craved -printtoconsole  option, as this will leave a detailed history of activity on the console, and when it decides to stop running might leave some clues behind that way.  There might also be a debug.log file in the ~/.crave folder that can be looked at already.

The masternode is staking and receiving rewards. It works but it is not showing on the wallet or list, I'll just leave it alone since it's working.

Thanks for the help

What is the average forging reward per day?

Masternode keep shutting down minutes after I start it, goes on list and then goes off.

Time up keeps saying 0, but active=1

I have to restart but it won't stay on.

Ubuntu 14 VPS for MN

Anyone have a fix?

Also what version of Crave are you running, the latest version is fine but the symptom you're describing was happening to me two releases ago.  Make sure you have installed 2.1 on the MN as well as the controller wallet.

If the MN has been started it should say "masternode started remotely" when you run ./craved masternode debug

I found out my masternode has been trying to sync this whole time, it might be firewalls like a previous reply suggested but I doubt it because I installed crave on a fresh ubuntu instance.

I will further investigate, thanks.
