381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miami’s mayor looks to woo Chinese bitcoin miners on: June 21, 2021, 08:56:48 PM
Mayor Francis Suarez told CNBC that Miami is working to lower the cost of electricity in order to entice bitcoin miners to make the move to Florida.
Suarez is looking to patriate China’s mining diaspora by promoting the city’s essentially unlimited supply of cheap nuclear energy.
I think that this is a great move to actually encourage people to move and start mining, but i think it is going to take more than that to make it profitable for people to move from other states and move to Florida where property is expensive just to mine bitcoin, it may provide an incentive for people who are living in Miami to start mining, or the decision its self may create enough motion or publicity to push people into investing in bitcoin.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is BTC Volatility More of an Advantage than Disadvantage? on: June 21, 2021, 08:37:24 PM
One of the undeniable features of BTC is price Volatility. When the market is green, a trader can run into massive profits. However, on a bad day ones Portfolio can varnish within hours. My question, is the price volatility of BTC more of an advantage than disadvantage to traders?
It is as you are saying bitcoin's volatility is good in a lot of ways, it allows traders to earn money from buying when the price is low and selling when the price goes up, for normal person who is not trading it it does cause much of an issue that is if you are sure about your investment and you went into investing in bitcoin for the long term.

384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If governments block Bitcoin, does Bitcoin have no value? on: June 16, 2021, 09:55:36 PM
In Bitcoin-based transactions, about 76 billion US dollars of transactions are involved in illegal activities each year, accounting for about 46% of the total Bitcoin transactions. Almost a quarter of bitcoin users, and nearly half of bitcoin transactions, are illegal. Therefore, from a quantitative point of view, the use of Bitcoin is enough to become the target of attention of governments and international criminal police. If governments block Bitcoin, does Bitcoin have no value?
To be honest these numbers don't make any sense because first of all how will anyone know what the transactions are used for, the government has no control or a way to monitors the bitcoin transactions and track the bad ones from the good ones, and the truth is you can't blame bitcoin for people using it for the wrong purpose, with every thing you will find people that abuse it, and if it was the case money has been used for decades for drugs murder and all the bad stuff, instead of banning it governments could use it for their own good to catch criminals, since it totally anonymous for the criminals it is anonymous to the governments as well.
385  Economy / Economics / Re: Amateur Traders Cause Bubbles on: June 16, 2021, 09:41:40 PM
A study done by the New York Fed suggests that when trading in an asset becomes dominated by amateur traders, it tends to form asset bubbles.  The study further noted that amateur traders do not aggregate private information well and show lower levels of strategic sophistication than professional traders.  It pretty well explains the volatility that dominates the Bitcoin market without being a study about Bitcoin.

Fed Report:  https://www.newyorkfed.org/medialibrary/media/research/staff_reports/sr939.pdf

Maybe this can be applied to small cryptocurrencies but i don't think that it could be applied to the bitcoin market, as bitcoin has became highly dominated by whales and the ones who trade it on a large scale with large amounts, and i don't think those one will do any move or make any decision just randomly that causes a bubble, and even then they would still won't have any large impact on the price since we are talking about a trillion dollar asset like bitcoin.
386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some millionaires hate Bitcoin? on: June 16, 2021, 09:25:08 PM
I think that the soul reason that these millionaires hate bitcoin is because they can't control it and can't really influence it since it is decentralized and not owned or controlled by governments or a specific party that can be influenced in anyway, and to these people all they invest in is stock market and if bitcoin and crypto rises up as the number one investment that will affect their investments and that is why they are against investing in it and they always say that it is bad.
387  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Practical Advice For A Beginner Trader? on: June 16, 2021, 08:41:32 PM
I tried trading Bitcoin a couple of years ago but quit after I lost $300. What advice do you have for me if I decide to start trading again? Thank you!
I have struggled a lot  and lost a lot before i was able to make any progress or profit in trading, so my advice for you is to just learn as much as you can, trading is quite unpredictable and no matter how prepared and no matter how many times you go in with 100% certainty you get proven wrong, so just start learning and discovering new strategies and methods and start testing them multiple times on demo accounts until you are comftorbale with the market and than start small and never get greedy always set a daily goal and stop at it.
388  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you investing in crypto currency alone? on: June 16, 2021, 08:21:21 PM
For me the pandemic hasn't really affected me personally in a bad way at least on economic part, as i work with a company that provides online services during the pandemic  the whole work thing shifted from going to the office to working from home, and i even got a bonus after the whole thing started to open up a bit, and i think that for many people  and companies the working from home proved to be an efficient and productive concept, and it really opened up a lot of new option and possibly new work opportunities in many cases, as for the investment in crypto i have been able to invest in it from my own money since my salary plus bonus allows me to especially with not much to do with since i can't travel the last two years because of covid i doubled down on investing in crypto.
389  Economy / Economics / Re: Is money the root of all evil as the poor to thinks? on: June 16, 2021, 07:58:01 PM
It is often said that the biggest difference between the rich and the poor has it origin from the mindset.
One major question that always borders me is "are we created with different mindset at birth and what role does environmental factors have to place on mindset of an individual".
Ubong King said "what you see determine the level of your achievement. The rich man orientation differs from the poor man orientation because While the rich man is thinking about wealth creation and self dependence, the poor is busy thinking how evil money is with the notion that money is the root of all evil hence they prefer to be poor than miss the Kingdom of God forgetting that our heavenly father who is rich expect us to take after him. Consider this,
"IS MONEY THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL?"
Different people have different point of views about money and wealth, sure you can say that money turns people's emotions and makes them do anything to reach their goal and get the money, but also there are the people that work every day hard not necessarily in the pursuit of money but to achieve their dreams and their goals in life, and to me that is what makes people different there are the ones who run in the pursuit of money just for the sake of it and ones who run after their dreams, so money in the end should be a tool and not the end goal that one should go after.
390  Economy / Economics / Re: Not just money but oil is most important in the World on: June 16, 2021, 07:24:17 PM
You somewhat have a point about the fact that oil is currently one of the main things that countries are trying to get a hold off and without it you would have no power, but  we see a lot of countries also making sure to move away as much as possible from it as not only has a limited amount, but also it has some major impacts on the environment, that is why they are trying to create new energy forms and new materials to substitute oil, and it is only a matter of time before that happens and oil becomes inefficient and worthless.
391  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and happiness. on: June 16, 2021, 06:25:26 PM
There is a popular opinion in the locale that "A man who has money doesn't easily get angry or offended, lol". This statement goes the other way as well, that "A man who doesn't have money is easily offended by everything and everyone".

I have put this statement on analysis a lot in mind, trying to watch my mood and correlate my happiness with the amount of money I have each time. Everytime it seems like i have overspent and almost becoming broke, there is a feeling of irritation and sadness that comes with it. Also when i get some credit alerts, there is an associated joy.

I know it is not proper to tie your happiness to finance, but i did some research into the subject and found a study that was conducted with the result that happiness increases with the amount of money one makes up until a point  where there is no greater degree of happiness from making money, but unhappiness if ones income drops beneath that range.

(See study here - https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/20/how-much-money-you-need-to-be-happy-according-to-wealth-experts.html)

What is your opinion on the subject of "money & happiness"?

Money doesn't necessarily bring happiness but what it does it creates comfort, someone who does not have money is constantly is searching for a way to get it, he is always thinking about how he or she will be able to eat or sleep tonight, and therefore creating anxiety that looms over and keeps your mood down, and a rich person does not have to think about that which creates a sort of comfort and allows them to live their lives as they want, but then again every person has their own problems, and with money comes other issues and other things that create anxiety, but that is just my point of of view.
392  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will China's crackdown on Bitcoin cause Bitcoin to become worthless? on: June 16, 2021, 06:04:07 PM
As we all know, in the cryptocurrency market, Chinese account for a large portion. So what impact will the Chinese government's total blockade of Bitcoin have on the cryptocurrency market? The sharp drop in the price of Bitcoin is the result we have seen, so after this blow, can the price of Bitcoin return to its peak, or will it fail? What do you think? I am confused now, hope someone can answer it for me.
China banning bitcoin mining is a topic that has been popping up for years, and whenever they say they are going to crackdown on doing the price dips a bitcoin and then returns to normal, because in reality if china really wanted to ban it i would have done it the first time, but this is like the this time they say they are going to do it, and i think it is just to shut others countries and for some political propaganda, because in reality we know how china does things and i am sure that they are making a fortune out of mining bitcoin.
393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most optimistic result of Bitcoin? on: June 16, 2021, 05:26:19 PM
I think the most optimistic outcome for Bitcoin would be to return to its roots, which is to play to the nature of bitcoin as a currency, as the opposite of global fiat currencies, coexisting with global fiat currencies and ready to replace the declining credit of fiat currencies, such as overissued US dollars.
I think that a lot people know that is not going to happen, because a lot of people have deviated from the original idea and concept that bitcoin was founded upon, and they have started looking at bitcoin as a type of investment and not as a currency, they just buy and hold bitcoin without using it as the way it was intended which was to replace the fiat currencies, and the first thing that comes to someone who has no idea what bitcoin does looks at the price and says i can make a lot of money from it, so the most optimistic result of bitcoin right now would be it becoming the number one investment.
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Maximalism on: June 16, 2021, 05:13:35 PM
I think there are a lot of things and issues that bitcoin and its developers can expand upon and fix, but a lot of the changes that will have a significant impact on the bitcoin and the transactions overall are major and are not really welcomed within the bitcoin community in itself because they want to stay as authentic to the original coin as much as possible even though it is not that optimized for as many people as it was excepted, like one of the issues is the high transaction fees and long confirmation time that gets worse and worse each time the bitcoin gains a bit of a popularity, and many of the coin that want to expand and solve issue that bitcoin has don't gain as much popularity as bitcoin does because they are always looked upon as a scuffed copy of it.
395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google has lifted its ban on crypto advertisements on: June 16, 2021, 05:02:18 PM
The reason behind google banning crypto advertisement is the cheer amount of negative feedback about many of the sites that turns out to be a huge scam, and with the ban the rate at which these sites operates have gotten lower but i am sure they will soon comeback into operation if the ban is lifted and google treats it the same it did last time, so hopefully this time they have a better solution to counter this issue rather than blaming it all on the crypto.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons to Invest in Bitcoin?? on: June 16, 2021, 03:24:57 PM
First I want to say that I have some Bitcoin and I want to see it go to the moon. But I have some questions regarding the reasons that people give as to why Bitcoin is a good investment.  Kiss

Reason 1: You are in control of your own money - government overprint cash which devalues the dollar, but big influential people and institutions can devalue Bitcoin with a single tweet. Bad news, issues with mining, and other things out of your control can devalue Bitcoin.

Reason 2: Nobody can take away your bitcoin whereas the bank can confiscate your cash and lock your account - should I worry about my bank doing this if I am not doing anything that is illegal?

Reason 3: You can send it to anyone in the world - why would people want Bitcoin when you cannot use it to purchase in many stores? Plus ii takes too long for 1 transaction to go through.

Please correct me if I am misinformed.  Shocked
I think that most of people see bitcoin as an investment rather than a day to day payment method, sure many peoeple will say that is untrue but he reality of things is that bitcoin is currently not optimized for microtransactions, sure for people who do thaousands of dollars per transaction won't feel the weight of the transaction fee, but for somone who is trying to buy somthing off the internet and wants to use bitcoin has to pay half of that in fees, the point is bitcoin is good but it could be better if we can use it for microtransaction to buy things quickly.
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Musk say's he'll re-invest in BTC when +50% of ASIC miners are GREEN on: June 14, 2021, 02:33:52 PM
Ok, so i think that Elon musk is just making these statements just for his own benifet and the benefit of Tesla over all,  if you think about it seeing how people and the price of bitcoin reacted to the news of them investing in it and accepting it as a payment made them some serious profits, and after they stopped they sold some of it, and than elon started talking about the enviormental impact of mining crypto and how they should replace it and go green if they are going to return to accepting it, and if you look at what tesla is currentky doing you will see that they are working on making long lasting batteries and some solar energy production system, so i think this whole thing is just a propaganda created by Elon musk to boost the company's profit maybe not in the short term but in the long run.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is funny money but Still Some Form of money on: June 14, 2021, 01:55:14 PM
If you ask any banker about bitcoin he will say that is a bubble and it will burst, and that it is a very risky investment and you shouldn't put your money in it, but that is not because they know better be cause the bitcoin in its core and its value and the reason that it was created defies the idealogy of these bankers and eliminates the need for them, so asking them is like asking a taxi driver why do they hate ubern because it puts them out of bussniess.
399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nexon Purchases $100 Million Worth of Bitcoin on: June 14, 2021, 01:39:13 PM
As soon as people saw that Tesla and other major companies invest large amount of money into bitcoin and cryptocurrency, they have started to consider their investment choices and the possibility that bitcoin can offer in terms of long term and short term investment, to be honest i think that this is just what crypto was waiting for to kick start its acsend towards the top as a major investment option.
400  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto trading vs Forex trading on: June 09, 2021, 10:57:26 PM
I feel like forex trading is way more streamlined which means that poeple have been trading it for many years now, so the strategies and the way to act and make decisions based on indicators and news are all in place and you can acces it  and start making profit by just folllwing some traders, but the cryptocurrency is a bit tricky and hard to predict and i feel that is due to the decentralization because there is not way to control it but also the crypto market yields far more profit that the forex, it is high risk high reward.
