1161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did the use of online gambling increase with crypto moneys? on: May 10, 2018, 05:25:29 PM
We used different deposit methods and there was a lot of fees in the past. What is the link between crypto moneys use and online gambling?
Cryptocurrencies are supposed to replace the fiat transactions that usually takes a lot of time to get proceed, not mentioning that gambling online with fiat money requires id verification and age restriction and also the minimum amount of money that you are allowed to bet, with cryptocurrencies thing got a lot easier and a lot faster and that is what made people prefer to use them, which made online gambling more accessible and more popular.
1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SELL ALL YOUR FIAT AND LIVE 100% CRYPTO!!!! on: May 10, 2018, 05:05:43 PM
A while ago (2017) there was this Dutch family that sold all their assets for BTC and is now traveling around the world. He had around 500k USD worth of BTC and expects it will at least make 5x in the next 3 years. In the meanwhile, they are living modestly and using 20% of their cryptos to trade.

Would you dare to do the same? Sell all your FIAT for CRYPTO?

I would love to stop using fiat and just pay for everything with cryptocurrency, but the truth is we can't, we can't 100% get rid of fiat, because fiat is what is used by 99% of the world's population and the 1% of the people who use cryptocurrency can't really on it because there are not that many places that actually accept them, cryptocurrency is still not yet accepted by restaurants, supermarkets, hospitals, and all the main thing we need in our daily lives, so until it is accepted by every place in the world we are stuck with using fiat.
1163  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Massive loss 40% underwater on: May 10, 2018, 04:47:04 PM
Got in at the height of Jan this year and all holdings lost more than half from the previous peak.

Very frustrated and was afraid that crypto will be zeroed out, so sold at massive loss more than 50%+ realized loss

After sold last week, all coins came back up 10-20%, even more frustrated, what to do?
Trading could be a very difficult and stressful job, it is quite unpredictable and will always keep you on your toughs at all time, so it take a patience and cold nerves or else you will be making mistakes such as this, the trading has been really difficult at the first quarter of this year as prices were all going down due to regulation and other crypto related new that affected the price which made making profit from it really hard, the only thing that you could do in that situation is just wait and stick to your decision, selling all your coins to cut your losses isn't a very good idea because cryptos are always bound to rise up again it might take them a month or a year to go back up again but eventually they will do, so holding and waiting would be better than going out at a loss.
1164  Economy / Economics / Re: Any ideas of what we lack in crypto world? on: May 10, 2018, 04:22:58 PM
We see that all the time in some countries cryptocurrencies are banned or in the contrary they start to make a special regulation. It shows that everyone want to do something with it but don't really know what, yet. Maybe you guys can guess, as experts from the crypto community, what do we need for normal living in a blockchain world?
Probably the most that cryptocurrency lacks these days is investments, cryptocurrency is still new and many people don't yet know about it, and for it to become adaptable as a payment method needs places where you can actually spend it, and this is thing that is slowly startting to improve as we see the blockchain technology being used in many other fields through ICo that have been launching left and right, one important thing that cryptocurrency lacks is scalibaility, as we saw with bitcoin as soon as the network was seeing some high traffic transaction started taking a long time to get verified and miner fees got really high, which affects micro payments and small transaction which are important to adopting cryptocurrency as a payment method.
1165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason why bitcoin won't last long (which are you afraid of?) on: May 10, 2018, 06:44:22 AM
After surfing through the good side of BItcoin I was asked to give reasons why bitcoin won't last by a friend I searched through the web and found the following

1: Exposure to Bitcoin-Specific Scams and Fraud.
2: Black Market Activity May Damage Reputation and Usefulness.
3: Susceptible to High Price Volatility.
4: No Chargebacks or Refunds.
5: Potential to Be Replaced by Superior Cryptocurrency.
6:Environmental Ills of Bitcoin Mining.
7: Bitcoins Are Not Widely Accepted.
8: Wallets Can Be Lost.
9: Risk of Unknown Technical Flaws
10: No Physical Form

Guess what non of those mentioned above was big enough to discourage my friend from joining Cryptocurrency (buying bitcoin).

Which of the following disadvantages are you afraid of and how do you think it can be resolved

Probably the one that stands out more to me from all of these disadvantages is bitcoon Boeing replaced by another cryptpcurrency, while this may not happen immediately bit it may happen on the long run, becausw as we saw by last year bitcoin had some major scaliblity issues that came from a large amount of people using it, which lead to transactions taking a long time to get confirmed and monwr fees getting higher and higher by the time, and iam sure that if this issue does not get solved bitcoin may not be a good fit for being a worldwide accepted currency, and so another one will take over.
1166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is Sportsbet.io safe to bet? on: May 09, 2018, 07:47:07 PM
I personally have been using sportsbet.io for some time now and i have never seen any security flaw not so ever, there may have been some talk about it from a couple of people but those are just rare cases and i am sure that the support have settled their situation, as they do have a very good stuff, that answers questions fast, i think that this is the place to go if you are into sports betting as it have a wide variety of all sporting events to chose from, their platform is secure and their transactions are done fast.
1167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto will be mainstream in a few years on: May 08, 2018, 08:01:03 PM
Since now smart money is in, they will make us need crypto currencies in the future.

So you can HODL! And you will have a nice life. Enjoy!!
I totally agree, we were able to see how popular cryptocurrency has gotten last year in just a couple of months, ICO were able and they are still making thousands if not millions of dollars, and people investing in them shows how good of a business model they are, not just for investors but also for project owners and developers, which means that in the future cryptocurrency will get even more popular, so holding would be a wise decision.
1168  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why choose LONG-TERM TRADING? on: May 08, 2018, 06:15:41 PM
Long term trading might seem like a good and a safe strategy, but in the end it is as risky and hard as the short term trading and requires a lot of patience, so there is not a huge difference here, treading should not be set to long term or short term, trading should be something done smart, for example people who bought bitcoin last year at 1k and sold it at 20k they were able to make nearly 2000% profit, and if they waited till march where it reached 6k they would be able to buy again and have 8k profit in their pocket, it is all about acting smart and knowing what to do in a certain situation.
1169  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we make this world economically better? on: May 08, 2018, 05:48:39 PM
The society is divided into haves and haves not, poor people are getting more poorer and rich people are getting more richer, Value of money is decreasing and inflation is increasing, Many people around the globe suffer death mostly Africa and asia because hunger and unable to fulfill basic human needs.
What actions should governments need to take and how individuals can contribute?
This has been an issue for decades, and each time people talk about it or pay attention to it for a while and then it is forgotten again, while there is not instant solution for this problem, but over time there are many things that we could do to help, the main reason why these countries are poor are because of the large percentage of unemployment, these people need places to work and to work they need education and to be educated they need to have school and teachers, so by donating money to charities that aim for these kind of things we can help the new generation build up their country by educating them, and as it is always said 'don't give me a fish, but teach me how to fish' .
1170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Mental Responses That Will Make You Lose Money on: May 07, 2018, 07:45:12 PM
The Bandwagon effect is what stands out the most for me from the reasons that make people lose a lot of money when gambling, because some people see other who may get lucky and win so they keep going in hope for a win themselves even though it might take them a lot of tries and they end up with no money, people are so affected by what the society impose on them, if they see others doing it they jump in and do it as well even if it means their doom.
1171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where can I learn trading ? on: May 07, 2018, 06:04:59 PM
Hello forumites,

I am interested in learning the rudiments of cryptocurrency trading and that led me here. But I discovered that here is just for airing opinions on coins and bounties ( permit me if I'm wrong) and most importantly I prefer visual materials to PDF.

Please suggest where I can get videos tutorial online and other useful sites.
Thanks in anticipation of your suggestions.
Cryptocurency trading is just a starlight forward thing, it is not rocket science and it does not take that much of an effort to learn, it is just a basic buy and hold for a while until the price goes up and than sell it and collect profit, all you need to worry about is where to invest and what coins you should or you should not buy, other than that Youtube and Bitcointalk are your friends you will find all that you need to know from them, especially knowing what people are trading at the moment and based on their opinions you can make your decisions.
1172  Economy / Economics / Re: How would a real economy crash affect btc price? on: May 07, 2018, 04:59:00 PM
Bitcoin and crypto currencies have been made to replace trust in banks and to be able to do without their centralized systems.
Imagine an unfortunate event in the world causing an economic crisis, or a crisis caused by the crypto themselves. A kind of 1929 bis in the 21st century. It would be sad, of course.
But what would be the destiny of bitcoin and other crypto currencies?
And worst of all, in case of serious disruption of the economy, such as war, for example, what would you say?
Most likely this will happen if people start losing trust in banks and governments, not that they have a good one right now but people still to prefer something that is controlled and monetized rather than something  volatile that can change at any given point, in this scenario people would start using cryptocurrency more and that would lead to its price rising up, which will cause even more problems, because how would an average person who doesn't own any cryptocurrency will survive in that case.
1173  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the best exchanges to trade. on: May 03, 2018, 08:40:39 PM
I am new to crypto and I want to learn how to trade but I do not know where to start. Please give me some advice on what are the best exchanges where I could learn how to trade. Your advices will be highly appreciated.  Smiley
Before you think about going into trading you need to know the risks that you are taking and the profit that you are going to make, one day you could be gaining profit and by the next you could be losing so that is something to keep in mind, other than that just do like everyone does read some forums watch some videos on YouTube read articles on how the market moves and than you could start trading, i would recommend going on Binex or Poloniex since they have an easy and user friendly ui, thay won't get you overwhelmed
1174  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin x banks on: May 03, 2018, 08:27:46 PM
I really believe that Bitcoin will make the same effect to banks that youtube did to television ( at least).
This statement was made in a documentary from a long time ago that I watched.

So how far from that  you guys think we are now?

I think we still have a long way to go to be honest, i mean we did establish that bitcoin has become popular especially in the past year when it skyrocketed like crazy and every media in the world was talking about it, but as long as we are treating bitcoin as a type of investment and not as a legitimate currency that needs to be traded it still won't replace banks, people need to realize the real purpose of bitcoin so it can actually change their lives.
1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holding habit on: May 03, 2018, 07:52:38 PM
This is a call to all bounty hunters to refrain from the dumping habits they are known for. Can bounty hunters cultivate good holding habit and stop dumping their tokens immediately after distribution?
Why do bounty hunters dump tokens?
Obviously to avoid losses, that is the most logical reason why would they do that, if for example an ICO seems to have a good idea a good project and a good team behind, but it does not seem to be so popular the first thing people would is sell their tokens as soon as it goes on exchanges, in order to cut their losses, and i see how this can be a real concern since it can actually kill a lot of good projects, so holding would actual help it and make their investments worthwhile.
1176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What price to look at when trading on: May 03, 2018, 07:39:04 PM
Hey guys

Just a little newbie question

I´ve noticed on coinmarketcap.com that sometimes the BTC is lower than the Dollar (USD). It doesn´t always follow that price.

I´ve bought some coins for X amount for BTC´s ... but when I want to sell that coin, the BTC value is actually lower than when I bought the coin for BUT the USD has price has grown.

So what do you guys look at when trading ?? The USD or the BTC

Thank you
I personally look at the USD value not the BTC when trading, since i first have started trading i bough my bitcoin for about a 1000$ last year, i held it up until it reached 15k cashed out spent some of that profit and i recently re bought it at 8k, i believe that most people do the same thing, unless you are planing to reinvest the amount you have in another coin.
1177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New gambling ideas on: May 03, 2018, 07:01:53 PM
I am planning to start my own gambling site. Can anyone share their own ideas for ways to gamble? (against house)
I wouldn't focus so much on finding new ways to gamble, because as a gambler what i look for in casino or gambling site is not the games, its the benefits or the plus that the site gives me, the thing that makes it different from the other popular ones that have been in the game for a while that have good reputation, so i suggest finding ways to attract players like giving bonuses on deposit, or giving them a small amount of bitcoin after a certain number of rolls for exemple.
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralized coins on: May 03, 2018, 06:48:16 PM
Do you think there is a room for centralized coins such as Ripple win over Bitcoin and Ethereum ? What is the good part about centralized coins against the decentralized ones ?
The whole point of using cryptocurrency is to escape for the centralization, the collect of data and information in one point which will allow hackers governments and agencies to access this data easily, bitcoin or cryptocurrency is popular because they are decentralized, the data is spread all over the world between all the users, which will allow for more privacy, anonymity, no one will be able to know what are you doing, bottom line i am not saying that centralized coin won't work, but if privacy is not the thing that people are looking for in cryptocurrency than there is room for it.
1179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Fortune Jack a Scam or are they Legit? on: May 03, 2018, 06:11:32 PM
Anyone get paid by them?
I tried FortuneJack for a couple of weeks now and i can say that they are relatively a good casino, they have a very user friendly UI which makes navigating through it very easy and quick, withdraws that i have made are made within an hour and with no fees at all which is a plus for me, i noticed that some people have some complaints about their transactions taking a long time to be processed, but i am pretty sure that all of that was due to heavy network traffic and it is fixed by now.
1180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: The Seven Deadly Sins on: May 03, 2018, 05:54:50 PM
Guys, my thread is not about the effects of gambling... It is about the seven deadly sins which I consider to be part of the gambler. Plus, religion has nothing to do with the seven deadly sins. And speaking of religion, especially Islam, it does not forbid gambling because of the sins, but simply because you need to make efforts to gain money, not just take people's money with zero efforts. That is from the perspective of Islam.
Well now that i think about it, it does indeed make sense, all the deadly sins are in fact a part of an addicted gambler's personality, Greed,Pride, Envy, Wrath, Gluttony Sloth, and most of all Lust, the desire for money and power is what drives a gambler the most, and they all explain the reason behind an addicted gambler's actions and behaviors.
