also - why is the content of the web page not open to public so we can contribute? some dev wiki perhaps? (the design, or at least ideas, could be kept separate ...you could at least create a thread about it here, see what people come up with)

A mediawiki site for XMR would be awesome.  You would have to hand out credentials, to keep out the bcn/drk trolls, however.

like this: http://monero.wikia.com/wiki/Monero_Wiki ?
3984  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: New XDN exchange allowing 3 decimals past a satoshi on: July 14, 2014, 08:08:34 PM
Sorry, direct transfers are not possible.  The exchange uses payment id to differentiate between deposits, and Bittrex and Poloniex do not support payment ids when withdrawing.

polo does, at least

Until Hiro himself comes in this thread and explains what he's doing and posts some kind of a road-map, this coin is dead.

Looks like Hiro is dead. Stupid motherfucker can't be bothered to write 2-3 sentences per week... Just declare the f-ing coin dead. Even if he comes and posts a road map, would you trust him? It's pretty obvious he lost all interest in this.

mebbe he's too busy fixing darkcoin again... Tongue

you better stop thinking...this may cause serious damage to a lot of people

Welp, at least we have the troll community on our side...Jiggy0001 and I are here to stay Tongue

it is good to see that there are still people around being honest.

VTC and most of the other coins don't have buy support from outside the crypto world, maybe a small amount, but not the main part. Those guys making fun of "investors" must be stupid as shit, when they write their comments. Who do you think you are making interested investors pissed? Get your 5btc together and f**** off

I was an investor holding thousands of VTC and i didnt invest only one time at the peak and for the rest of the time watching my money melt.

I have been constantly buying down to 0.0005... but from what i have read here in the past couple of days mentioning my concerns was just revealing a lot of ignorance.

Sitting here and hoping for a turn around is simply naive. We, the "investors" were the ones who constantly put buy pressure on the market even though the trend was obviously heading DOWN.

It is the open market where an idea is being presented and attracts money, but in the end i am not here to argue with brainless individuals who don't get the economical basics and at the same time cursing people.

As long as VTC is not attractive to businesses the sell pressure will still putting the price down. So why the hell should halving the reward not help?

We don't need so much coins everyday now!!!! If there could be an algo that watches the sells and buys on the market, it would be great. We curse fiat, but at the same time  we print money like crazy and flood the market...

Some miners here were also saying that they are mining VTC for only one reason... paying their bills! So what else should be the result then?

When is saw they price approaching 0.001 i was acting and yelling, but some smart brains here just kept saying "trolling, fudding", blablabla...
I also said that this is a magical threshold and the value will drop to 0.0005 like a rock even with SX coming out.

The only thing that can save the coin, and i am really interested in this, is to cut the reward, because otherwise the development can not keep up with the decreasing interest in the coin.

scrypt-n is not interesting anymore, too. so first of all you have to be attractive to the crypto investors(not day trader), otherwise you will not be able to shine outside.

And to the one who said that people spend their "last money" on VTC are crying now... thats not true. I spent the money that i was willing to loose, but right now i see 0.0001 approaching very quick, so WHY the hell shall i stick to it NOW, when i could trade with the money that is still left in VTC? Smart decisions have to be made and i am not saying that i hate VTC, i went trough all of the P&Ds and was sure someday this great idea and professional dev will prove all those short term trolls wrong.

Man, I thought you left after you proudly proclaimed you dumped all your coins and you'd be back at 0.0001 (we're not there yet, btw). Wishful thinking, obviously. Also, why do you randomly capitalize half of your sentences? You only capitalize the important ones?
3988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: July 12, 2014, 10:16:23 PM
do you really think someone will listen to you when you are doing the same? One body two minds?

I didn't call a whole bunch of people names, just you Jiggy, and I don't feel like that warrants any further explanation.
3989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: July 12, 2014, 10:06:56 PM
Halving the reward isn't a good idea, sure it will benefit all the coins holder/investors like you, but it also will be really unfair for new comers.

With such modification, the price may rise enough (for a short time) for you to get out without loosing money but it will also kill the coin.

Ok idiotic newbie accounts with 4 activity like you piss me the fuck off.

IF THE REWARD ISNT CHANGED, THERE WILL BE NO MORE NEW COMERS, BECAUSE VERTCOIN WILL DIE AND ITS WELL ON ITS WAY THERE.

If you cant understand that, and look at the 10% decrease in price everyday(80% decrease in less than week from sx update), then you are a fucking dumbass of universal proportions.

Cursing at people and calling them names is surely going to help them see your point of view. I know you troll lots of threads, darkota, so I'm not even sure if you're a holder or just trolling; I'll assume the latter since imo the only thing chopping the reward in half now (or more drastic action) is going to do is further erode confidence in the coin. Why would anyone want to support a coin when the devs/community can decide to change the total amount of coins on a whim (or at the behest of trolls trolling on the trolliest troll forum known to trolls)?
3990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: July 12, 2014, 09:04:10 PM
@styxical I totally agree with you !

Thanks to the devs, fuck Jiggy0001.

@Jiggy: get a life or go mine another coin. You made your point clear many times, nobody is interested. Please stop spamming and GO AWAY, you are not welcome.

i guess i don't have to listen to a piece of shit like you are... Roll Eyes

You said you were leaving:

But for me this story is over now...

Tired of buying and catching thousands of knives over the past few weeks...

Why don't you listen to yourself you annoying bastard? You're probably on here bitching every five minutes over a total of 50 vtc or something. Or is someone paying you to constantly troll here? I can't think of another legitimate reason: either you're 11 years old and pissed you lost $20 due to your own incompetence at "investing", or someone is paying you to professionally troll.
3991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address - Privacy without mixer on: July 12, 2014, 03:28:10 PM
You guys constantly complaining about price and inflation sound like as soon as price goes up, you will dump and be done with vertcoin. What other reason do you have for obsessing over price? Inflation is supposed to be high initially to encourage distribution of the new coin. If you knew about high inflation, and you're such economic experts, then why the fuck did you buy a super inflationary coin and expect to be able to hold it for profit?
3992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | MANDATORY UPDATE | First Anonymous Chat | First NIST5 on: July 12, 2014, 03:05:25 PM

We can adjust fees. Once the private messages and user groups features are released, volume of messaging will increase, messaging needs to be affordable for all but disincentivize spam.  Various ways we can do this.

maybe one way to do this is start out with very low fee, but every message sent makes it increase a tiny bit. So, start it at 0.001 TAC, and each message makes it increase by 0.01 or something (in one week or month period). That way most people should be able to message the whole month for 1 TAC, but spammer start getting charged lot of TAC.

spammers can create different wallets

good point...

Maybe better solution then is to make first message charged at 1 TAC, 0.01 TAC after that with increasing penalty for more messages sent...I dunno tho, seems pretty convoluted for chatting.

3994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - Now on Hitbtc.com on: July 12, 2014, 04:23:48 AM
It's rather silly to make claims about what Monero will be in the future.  It is what it is today.  Tomorrow, it will be what participants cause it to become in the intervening time. There are no insoluble problems of significance on the horizon.  There are numerous very soluble problems, which need work.

For example, naive timing analysis is a pretty easily solvable problem, technically.  Claiming that those solutions will not be applied in a suitable time-frame is just nattering negative nabobery.  It is quite suitable and appropriate to solve that problem after the mix-net is working. In our neighborhood of space-time, things happen in a well-defined partial order.  If you try to get ahead of that order, you might get a speeding ticket from God.

For every measure, there is a counter-measure.  When the cost of measure and counter-measure is consistently and overwhelmingly asymmetric, a nimble defender can hold much ground.  That's sort of fundamental to most crypto.  I see no reason to believe that Monero cannot be evolved into a state of sufficient privacy to make it infeasible for any real entity to defeat its functions at at level which makes it unusable for a substantial minority of actual candidate users.  Monero can take advantage of numerous force multipliers, and hold much ground, despite its present diminutive stature.  As its stature grows, it will be able to hold more yet.

Everything will always be vulnerable, because you can't even know the rules of the game.  The laws of physics are not at all certain or clear, except in statistical terms.  Thus every real system, implemented in physical reality, has some unknown, unknowable, potential to violate your assumptions.  Chasing after a perfect system is a complete and utter snark hunt.  It's good math, but bad engineering.  Systems are only ever either good enough or not good enough, for any well-defined purpose and criterion of evaluation.  Pretending that illusory criteria are normative is either Bad Faith or folly.

anyone like to venture a guess as to why parallaxcoin has 20% higher network hashrate compared to monocle?

MON:
Network Hashrate
2,222.78 MH/sec

PLX:
Network Hashrate
2,627.95 MH/sec

just seems weird as PLX appears to be a dead/abandoned coin...
3996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ManicMiner.in alt-multicoin parallel cooperative merged mining pool on: July 10, 2014, 08:40:20 PM
Does anybody here happen to know whether or not somebody has done any kind of profitability analysis betwixt ManicMiner.in and the other multipool(s)?

i.e. multipool.us, wafflepool, etc.?

not that I'm aware of, would be neat to see though, if you have a bunch of gridseeds sitting around or something...

3998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [CNN] CryptoNoteCoin (CPU-mining, Untraceable payments, Unlinkable transact) on: July 10, 2014, 12:22:26 AM
It's clearly not cpu-only mining if it's using the same algorithm as monero, which has nvidia and amd gpu miners.
3999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Human Mining - game world inside the Block Chain on: July 09, 2014, 09:08:34 PM
Thanks for your detailed thoughts <3

At 10 HUCs each that would mean a total of 4.2million generals could ever be created in it's entire lifespan (obviously would be a lot less). The price would become way too expensive to play. Obviously the price could then be lowered. Still, i think destroying coins needs much more discussion.
Also i think it gives more incentive to kill other players if they drop the coins.
I will have to dig out the full conversation I had with mikhail when we decided not to destroy coins (before release), but in the end this is how we did it.

We need to wait to observe what happens with regards to bots over the next few disasters.

Domob is progressing very well with the blockchain pruning implementation and performance updates.

I guess you're probably right that you wouldn't want to go overboard destroying coins, and you've kind of changed my mind on it altogether, but I still think the powerup idea is neat (still not having played the game - more on that in second paragraph), especially with a floating value. If you could buy a potion that allowed you to move double the distance the next turn, and then coins that the player paid for it would either be destroyed or put on the map or fed to miners, that might add a dynamic more favorable to human players than bots (or vice versa perhaps).

I still haven't played game because I downloaded game and blockchain last night, and have been syncing since then, and it's only gone from two weeks behind to like 9 days behind Shocked I guess investing in this coin at this point is betting that someone can eventually deliver it to the masses, which imo it is not something most people would want to try and get going at this point. This is really the one coin that could actually benefit from an android app Cheesy
