its beautiful and i love the functions it is offering, i would love to try it but am only skeptical about the security of the app for my funds that would be stored in the wallet. any reviews would help.

thank you!

as it's been said before Litemint is an open source wallet. feel free to go through the code on GitHab:

https://github.com/litemint/litemint/

if you have any questions considering the wallet, you can contact us at support@litemint.com

PS: IOS and Web-versions are scheduled to be released by the end of this month
PPS: also we are doing a small xml-giveaway since any Stellar account is required to hold a minimum XLM reserve (this is how Stellar fights against network flooding). so we have decided to fund your Stellar accounts for free. Install the Litemint app, send your Litemint “Receive address” QR Code to our #litemint Discord channel and we will send you 2 XLM to fund the required reserve on your account (*).

more about it here:
https://magnetwork.io/magnet-on-mobile-and-free-xlm-for-mag-users/

I appreciate it's open source. But, probably 99% of crypto users don't have the expertise to review crypto wallet code in any way.

Now, if you have the endorsement of some people that do have that expertise, that would be better.
42  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: January 04, 2019, 09:59:00 PM
Having an issue with my mycellium balance goto 0 btc. Then it cones back. And im not the only one..read here

https://www.reddit.com/r/mycelium/comments/abe5xx/mycelium_wallet_empty/?utm_source=reddit-android

Any idea why? A bug? Any fixes?

Been using mycellium for years..never had this issue.
Check your transactions and your address in a Blockexplorer. The user from the post above was just mistaken.

Please check your transactions. The balance should be the sum of your incoming and outgoing transactions.

What do you see when you go to the accounts view, select the account and in the context menu "Show Unspent Outputs"?
I see "no funds to display." That makes sense, because I have sent all of the funds to an exchange wallet. I felt weird about using Mycelium, after seeing the wallet empty for no reason!
If you spent all your funds, yes, it's empty. Grin

I was not mistaken. It read zero btc when i know i had .13btc. Eventually it came back to 0.13. Then i tried again an hour later...same 0btc....then once updated wentbto 0.1btc.  Then after awhile to 0.13.

This has never happened to me. Is it a bug in a recent update?

IF anything it's an issue with either your connectivity... or mycelium servers. This is a light weight wallet, it doesn't have a local copy of the block chain, so it relies on the servers to give it that information.

Your BTC is on the blockchain, it's not in the wallet.

yesterday i got 208 XLM for free in blockchain wallet, on the other hand crypto market bleeding badly again.
Weak hands selling at cheap price and moving on, hope so market will rise again next year 2019.

I'm for sure long term HODLr. These down turns are just a good chance to pick up more crypto.

Sure, if I sold 100% in Dec of 2017 I would have a nice check of USD. But, I believe the crypto market will recover to those levels. Will it happen in 2019, idk? And if it never happens, well... I've already cashed out and doubled my initial outlay... and I'll take the risk for the potential huge reward.

I've done much better with crypto spends than lottery tickets so far. Wink

Anyone know of a reputable exchange that has a USDG/XLM pair? (Gemini $ that is)
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XLM] Stellar - Decentralized trading platform on: November 22, 2018, 01:56:24 AM
Reward allocated for 5.000.000 people. Those who had claim will be based real time fixed by 25$ not amout XLM but equal for XLM. Official Blockchain pages facebook shown had problem with thier KYC, like take a few days for get a review.

With Air Drop more like understand but we have Dec 1 hard fork ..... and
"Each Stellar holder will receive Stellar Activity coins (XLA) at a 1:2 ratio."

how much need have in wallet or any amount? After fork on exchange thay do new wallet and add coin. Stallar say that only users who have in real community wallet can have XLA but where can find or multi-wallet?

XLA has nothing to do with Stellar, other than being a fork of Stellar.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XLM] Stellar - Decentralized trading platform on: November 20, 2018, 03:04:50 PM
That ongoing airdrop is not been giving at the same time to every participant. First of all the amount of $25 equivalent in XLM. Second, they will release randomly the airdrop. But in spite of this support I will not relaxed because this is unnatural behavior to stay unchanged against the wave. I don't want scare and show negativity but keep eyes and options open this is business after all.
Yes airdrop is ongoing then for those who had verify will be earn XLM following value 25$. That is kind a deal, we had but instantly XLM with USD.
That's why the currently price had enough quite on stable compared to the others.

Did anyone get this airdrop. Apparently they don't do it in my jurisdiction.

I'm curious if they are giving different amounts of XLM based on the current price when you get the drop, or if they are just giving a fixed amount, say 100 XLM (about $25 worth give or take.)

47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XLM] Stellar - Decentralized trading platform on: November 14, 2018, 03:19:30 PM
Hoping Stellar team can clarify about this hardfork thing. Its really fishy that they even offer 1XLM = 30 XLA if u ever send to them.

I'm 99.99% sure XLA has nothing to do with the SDF at all. It is a cash grab fork by some scammer person/group. Do NOT send them your XLM.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XLM] Stellar - Decentralized trading platform on: November 13, 2018, 10:39:29 PM
Have the same question, what is XLA?
If author decided to post a link, it would be good if he also write a few words about with additional information. As for me, I don't like to openthird-party  links, excepting that is on my bookmark tab.

I did find a link at that link to follow. Apparently, it is a fork of Stellar. XLA is to XLM as BCH is to BTC.

There's no information about why this fork will be better than Stellar or different, or why it's being done. They talk about being able to trade XLM for XLA at 1:5 ratio after the fork.

So, basically, it is someone or someones trying to make money out of nothing. Or to trick people into thinking XLM is changing to XLA and sending them your sweet XLM.

If XLA does get any kind of market, I will sell it all and buy XLM with the proceeds, just like I did with my BCH converting it to BTC.
Looks somehow suspicious, if to be honest. Too little general information, technical details etc. Strange website in my opinion. In comparison Bitcoin fork BCH had a strong support in crypto community. Here I see that almost nobody knows what is it.

You're talking about the dot org site. I'm not going to link to it here, because to me it's a scam money grab.

so the rumour is true that we need to send our document just for this airdrop ? i mean, we need to verify our data just for $25 ?
what happen if they are using our document for crime or money laundering or something like that ?
it has been decided or verified yet ? or ... what ?
(i just can't believe it)

This setup is sure not for me. Sound crazy to reveal my ID and back up it by papers for $25,  this is a total come-on.

I disagree with "total come-on" too. How else would you suggest they prevent fraud? ie the same person setting up hundreds of accounts to get multiple air drops?

Well, don't do it, then. I understand wanting privacy. Of course, the first time you use XLM with anyone that does know your ID, the jig is up.

I for one welcome a few million more XLM uses. Even if I expect a large amount of the coin will be sold right away. I've been waiting for another buying opportunity and wish I had bought a lot more when it was at $.04 not all that long ago.

Stellar needs not of this kind of airdrop it looks like blockchain dot com's this attempt to get the users information for offering them tiny amount is not getting appreciation and was rejected already by large number of people. Overall this isn't bringing good sentiment for Stellar as I have discussed with few people from my town and they don't get what is all about. People think it is Stellar's team who is offering this airdrop but facts are other.

Everything I read says Blockchain is doing it in partnership with SDF, The Stellar Development Foundation. So, yes, Stellar Team is involved in this.

They need some way to prove who you are so you don't get multi airdrops. The original air drops required a Facebook account... which turned out not to be a way to keep people from cheating.

hopefully they give it out slowly. A huge drop all at once will cause the price to drop as people liquidate. Of course, that will be a buying opportunity.

Except that USDC is an ERC-20 token that runs on Etherum as is Genie $ USDG.

I think Stellar has more stable coins than Eth at this point.

At different point of time, each sort of USD* will be the most stable, profitable one for investors.
Personally, I think it is really hard to call something is the best forever.

I really wasn't raking them.

Also, I see a lot of the articles about these coins calling them "pegged" vs "backed". There is a huge difference.

A "pegged" coin is usually manipulated to remain at a certain exchange value... For example, BitShares. There is nothing backing or underlying the value.

While a backed coin is basically one that is issued in exchange for actual Fiat (or bullion, or other asset) in an Escrow and it always exchangeable to that underlying asset. This is where Tether (supposedly), USDC, USDG, WSD, AnchorUSD, TrueUSD, and others fall. This is also why they aren't trustless, you need to trust the custodian to be honest and not issue more than the Escrowed underlying asset and also to honor the exchange, ie burning (or sequestering) the redeemed coin and sending the underlying asset.

While their values could fluctuate on the open market since they are backed by the underlying asset they are always worth 1 unit of that asset. Due to this the value will pretty much remain there. Why would you pay $1.50 for a WSD, when you can go directly to the White Company and buy them at $1 each. Why would you sell them for less than $1 when you can go to the White Company and sell them for $1 each.

A new stablecoin launching on the Stellar network is pegged to the Australian dollar and is being pitched for consumer and business use. CoinDesk

Circle USD is one of the most interesting thing related to fiat trading pairs I found when reading the article.
To be honest, Stellar has had significant growth in the year.

Except that USDC is an ERC-20 token that runs on Etherum as is Genie $ USDG.

I think Stellar has more stable coins than Eth at this point.

Several projects that I follow were initially run on stellar but for some reason, then they start using ethereum  Huh I do not understand why this is happening  Huh

You mean ICO projects? I also noticed this, that some ICOs left Stellar in favor Ethereum (FlipNpik for example). I don't know why, because Stellar look like working more faster than Ethereum. May be because users want not participiate in Stellar ICOs and register new wallets or developers just afraid that they can't raise money selling tokens on new blockchain...

Wasn't there also some project that left Eth and moved their tokens to Stellar? Yea, Kix. Seems they have tokens on both now though.

Yes, this is possibly was as well. As far as i know one project wanted to move their tokens from Ethereum to Stellar blockchain (this was Rate3). But I don't know they did it or not as i lost interest to this project. How many existed tokens in total Stellar blocckchain have so far? They are trading on exchanges without problem (stellar tokens i mean) ?

I can't say how many Stellar chain tokens run on exchanges, but they can all be traded on StellarX without issue.

New Stablecoin Tied to Australian Dollar Is Launching on Stellar's Blockchain

A new stablecoin is launching on the Stellar blockchain that's designed to hold its value with the Australian dollar (AUD) and is being pitched for consumer and business uses.

Announced Tuesday at the Money 20/20 conference in Las Vegas, Novatti Group, an Australian online payments processor, will issue the Novatti AUD Utility Token beginning on November 19. The token will be backed 1-for-1 with AUD held in a trust.

While traditionally, stablecoins have been a tool for cryptocurrency traders to move money quickly between exchanges, Novatti envisions its token being used for more common use cases, like remittances or purchases.

More - https://www.coindesk.com/new-stablecoin-tied-to-australian-dollar-is-launching-on-stellars-blockchain/
technically, stellar is superior, and a really nice currency. but I wonder why they use Stellar blockchain to create a stable coin? they could create coins on their own blockchain.

Because you need a blockchain infrastructure. If you launch your own, you need to build a network. Launching a colored coin (stable or otherwise) on an existing, established, secure network that is designed for high throughput, inexpensive transactions, and a low fees is a no brainer.
