I'm trying to download the NXT wallet for OS X version 1.3.
Does anyone know how long the database update is supposed to take, so that I can sign in to my account? Thanks.
As far as I know, 1.3 is still on test net. 1.2.8 is the latest live release. The update time depends on how fast your PC is. |

this. dogecoin/dogeparty could have the edge over viacoin/clearinghouse due to the simple fact that china has access to dogecoin but not to viacoin. i think dogeparty is really underrated. Doge anything is retarded. VIA is on another level. say what you want, but..  and doge is not the enemy. Doesn't DOGE still plan for an unlimited number of coins? It means, the coin is highly inflationary. The market cap is huge because of the coin population. |

I am still trying to understand if dividends are paid out for holding UNITY for long term. I picked up a large number of litecoindark coins a few days ago at 1300. LTCD is now at 2800 on Bittrex. I am trying to decide if I should cash out some of them to buy more SuperNet tokens. I need to first understand how the UNITY dividends will be paid out. Can anyone here add light on how the dividends payout will work?
Don't take this as gospel, but most NXT assets that pay dividends pay to the holders of record as of the BLOCK the dividend is paid based on. I expect this will work in a similar way. |

The asset is priced at a fixed BTC cost. The NXT price is adjusted based on the NXT/BTC ratio. NXT has gained about 30% since the IPO started.
So, the price is actually higher in BTC, and goes up a bit each day.
Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense. The "loss" is for us, many of us, who used (and always planned to use) NXT already in our NRS to buy tokens. For the amount of TOKENS I purchased on day one, I could have purchased an additional 10% TOKENS today! Damn!!!   It is a loss in NXT but not in BTC or Fiat. Investing in such volatile markets isn't without risk. |

I finally got a test environment where two separate nodes are properly communicating the SuperNET at the lowest protocol levels. So I can debug the proper processing and even some functionality between the two nodes
still having some build issues on the third server, but going from loopback to two different servers will get almost all the cases that are needed.
So, this weekend, I might be slower than usual to respond to any posts. Expect the trolls to seize this opportunity to attempt to spread the FUD. I will be closing my browser so any non-response is just because I am too busy. You can always tell them to bet against the SuperNET if they are so sure it wont work

James, I have this idea in the back of my head for a while. Think about a decentralized web hosting service, running on sidechains. Can fit the best with SuperNET. Lets imagine UNITY-WEB: - premium decentralized hosting service- not so cheap; - pay X amount to register a domain/hosting account, which can ONLY be accessed into the NXT wallet, for example; - have your website/content/secret docs uploaded on your hosting/domain account; - have an option to make it public or password protected; Lets imagine UNITY-WEB as a decentralized WWW which is separated, no more govs killing your website/services. Right, the agreement didn't list any consideration. Will superNET get CoinEvolve assets, and or will CoinEvolve get superNet assets. Will supernet be buying CoinEvolve assets? As much as lawyers seem to make things complicated, it is because they want to cover all the bases. |

Right now the Gems protocol is built to reward Gems users that introduce new users to the Gems network and also reward users for texting (not reward spamming - the technical details will be published before the release).
does anyone think the Gems protocol should reward more things? - Would love to get some feedback on this important point.
Clicking on Ads (the advertisers will like that). But, you should be able to PAY gems to avoid ads as well, which will help pay for the network. |

I am going to take this a step further, and say its a bad idea to invest in it. You are now making an investment in someone elses coin selection, someone elses management (centralized) , someone elses technological idea. Not within your own. The point about (well now you dont need to research all these things) - if you are not researching what you are investing in then what the hell are you doing wasting your money ?

I think about my Bershire Hathaway stock. BH is basically a holding company that invests in other companies. Why did I buy it, because BH has two things I don't. 1. A huge amount of resources to buy large volumes of undervalued stocks. 2. Because Warren Buffet has made billions by making others millions. He is a rock star investor so I put my trust in him. |

Why did the price go down to 121Nxt for a token?
Price of NXt has been rising so this is reflected in the exchange price. But if I would have my money in Nxt, it would have gone up 10-15%. As I have it in Tokens, it didnīt move. The price of Nxt is not adjusted if the price of BTC moves. So what is the idea behind this? :-/ wrt to BTC the value of your TOKENS have not changed. wrt NXT they have. Just like as the USD value of BTC changes so change the values of the other alt coins. |

So serious question, why if, if I really believed in Ford, would I not just invest in Ford. Why would I invest in a company that claims to ensure that Ford works nicely with Honda? Why would I increase this "umbrella" companies marketcap instead of increasing Fords market cap - considering I believe heavily in Ford?

There was a red dialog box in my NXT wallet that said something along the lines of "You are most likely on a fork you forged the last 10 blocks..." Then it disappeared.... What do I need to do to fix this issue?
It might have fixed itself. Look at the last block in your wallet and compare it to https://nxtblocks.info/#section/blockexplorer_blocks. If your last block is the same as the explorer you are fine. If not, stop the NRS, delete the _db folder, and restart NRS. It will have to re-download the block chain. Are you on at least 1.2.7? |
