Could someone tell me where the hell my currency is?

I haven't checked my account for months and now it appears to be gone.

I enter my passphrase and it does NOT match my account any more - it used to.

This account: FIM-XZ37-DJLE-6EMD-E7TBX

had over 140,000 in it.

Where did it go?

Talk about a scam currency.

You probably entered your password incorrectly. Even one extra space or miss typed character will give you a new account. It won't tell you "bad password" cause it doesn't know.

You shouldn't throw the SCAM label around just because you typed your password wrong.

Remembered that I was in the Koinify presale and all that. Got a few thousand Gemz...how do I transfer them to my iOS Gems app? How do I enable the presale perks they talked about?

Withdraw from your Konify address to your GetGems Gems address.

In the iOS app you can get your address by tapping on the Wallet in the bottom right corner. Make sure it is showing a Gem icon and the Gems balance. Tap on the QR code icon in the top right of the screen. Tap "Receive" at the top of the screen. Tap the Gem icon. After a second you get a message that the address was coppied to your clipboard.

That is your GetGems GEM off chain wallet address. Send your gems from konify to that address. You might want to do a small test send first to ensure things are ok.

Yes we need a bug list ,

If dev is on github there there should be an issues section of the get hub repo.

There is a 300BTC buy on the MGW for @ 33xx sats. I think we are being manipulated down so that can get filled.

Im sure it will rebound after that happens  Roll Eyes

About the MGW is there a web page or a service
where users could check the prices (trades) or is the necessary for
users to install some kind of application or NXT wallet ?!

Thanks.

Thanks, I want to store my Bitcoins on different locations securely. I already use a cold storage wallet. That means, if these three guys which running the servers decide to disappear, the BTC are gone, right? Then it is not a option for me at the moment. Just to exchange Bitcoin to NXT.

I am planning to store some of my BTCs on the MultiGateway. As far as I know is it not fully decentralized. How secure are those Bitcoins stored there? What happens if the servers are getting down or jl777 (is he running the servers?) is disappearing suddently? Would be nice if someone could answer these questions.

I wouldn't recommend using MGW as a method to safely store Bitcoin, however if you want BTC on AE for trading purposes, it's very secure.  Jl777 does not run the servers, they are operated by 3 independent parties that all need to agree on any deposit/withdrawal.  There has yet to be a "hack" of MGW.  Some guy has 300BTC on there, so I believe it's pretty safe, but cold storage or a dedicated wallet like Trezor are your best bets if you only want to store.

I believe the MGW bitcoin addresses are all 2 of 3 multi-sig so if 1 operator goes the other 2 operators can still spend from the addresses.

Yep it needs 2/3

That isn't just NOT SECURE, that is actually a joke...

Explain?

Hmm... do you guys or telegram sell phone numbers? I've got my first text spam ever shortly after downloading and setting up GetGems.

The Gems you send are in-app or off the block chain to allow for sending Gems to other GetGems users for free, your bitcoin address is online and can be accessed by using your pass phrase (settings >> pass phrase recovery) to open your associated counterwallet -> https://counterwallet.io/ -> If you send the GEMS to your own Bitcoin address this is also where your 5 GEMS can be found.

At the moment transaction history is not yet available, maybe its on the to do list for the developers but I'm not sure.

Thanks for letting me know about the pass phrase recovery! I didn't even think to try that! So I loaded it up into CounterWallet and there's still no transactions in the wallet. I also noticed that within the app when I tap the gem and the icon switches to the bitcoin logo, it then gives me a different address then when I hold down on the gem icon. Neither address has any history, and the pass phrase only seems to unlock the "bitcoin" address and not the "gem" address Sad

That's correct. The BTC address is on the block chain. The GEMS address isn't. So, they will be different.

I'm not sure what you mean about the unlocking.

Hello!

I set up the app and wanted to test sending Gems to a regular BTC address, so I sent the 5 starter gems to myself and everything seemed fine within the app (it said sent and my balance went to 0), but I never received anything at the bitcoin address! I also pulled up the "receive" bitcoin address from the app and it looks like there never were any coins there to begin with. Is there a way to view transaction history within the app, or load up the wallet from somewhere else like CounterWallet and see what's going on? I'm curious to see where the gems actually got sent to! Smiley

Also, is there currently a way to earn gems outside of referrals? I'm ready to watch ad after ad for some gemz! Wink

XO-Saffron

Did you view the BTC address you sent the gems to on the counter party block explorer?

You are correct, GEMS are OFF-CHAIN, this means you won't see them in a block explorer.

Do you have a settings page? I am using android so my app looks different.

Yep... peled fixed something for me in the back end. So, you should be able to find me now and message me, and make it rain. lol

Ok, perhaps I am not very smart... but I reinstalled the app.

What is my username? Is it my "Name" at the top of the app.

Or is it "username" where it says username under gemwallet?

Does my name show to people that just message my user name, or is that kept hidden unless I share contact info?

When I go to settings and click Edit I can change my name but not my username?

I can also find user @pilot 1 whatever that means? So, that must not be me.

Someone ELI5.

Your username is at the top of the app, on the page where it says wallet, new group, settings etc..

Also, under settings it says your username just above GetGems Username

This is the wallet page:

Is background refresh required for GetGems to work on iOS? I turn that off on 99% of my apps.

Background refresh keeps the bitcoin SPV client in sync with the network so when a user opens the app its already in sync making the user experience more smooth.

But not required right?

Erm... never got it. Just double checked.

I sent you messages, username @pilot and in chat username is 1.

Haven't received any of these messages. What's up?

So, can someone tell me, if I send a message to someone knowing only their user name, do they only know my user name, or do they also get my phone number and real name? Is there a way to edit my user name?
No they will only know your username, although it gives you the option to share contact info.
Also, what is the difference between Secret Chat and just sending a message?
Does the bitcoin wallet generate a new address every time I receive some? Is there a way to manually generate a new address?
Not sure about this, maybe someone else knows?
Finally, is there any documentation for the app? both How to Use and How it Works type info?
There is no FAQ yet, which should be available on the website, i guess when the app is ready and some bugs fixed it should be done.
Cool thanks. Would love to get a message from someone and maybe play send some gems back and forth.
My username is Pilot if anyone is interested.
I can only find pilotdave, is that you?
No it's pilot, i could find him. you will see @pilot
There must be a bug in the search, I can't find him. Someone else was also having problems with the search yesterday.

This bug (Android user can't find iOS user) has already been fixed for the next iOS version.

What version is that? I have 1.1.4.
