Regarding the hacking of brainwallets at DEFCON 23 and the death of brainwallet.io, how safe are nxt-addresses when they had their first output?
When brainwallets are hacked that easily then it sounds risky. Though those nxt addresses only can hold something of value once their security was updated with an incoming transaction, right?
So is the brainwallet a risk or not?
Hacking a brainwallet is not different than hacking any password. If you use a secure password it's secure no matter what it protects. I suggest a Dice Ware password of at least 7 words for passwords that can be tried hundreds of times a second with no server to throttle or lock tries. NXT by default uses a 12 word dice ware type password. Yes, until the public key is registered on the nextwork, there is a higher probability of "a" pass phrase that gives the same account number but a different pub key. So, before you really put much into your NXT account, make sure your published your pub key by sending to it with a Pub key or registering an alias or doing a send or some type of transaction.

@ Daniel i have my Gemz in my Counterwallet, the passphrase is from a couple months ago. I believe somewhere you guys changed something about the passphrase or something that it uses bip.., now am i able to load my gemz into my mobile with this 'older' passphrase?
Yes you are able to login in to counterwallet and send your gemz to the gemz address inside the app. Can i also type in this older passphrase into a new mobile phone to load the Gemz this way or does it only work if i send the Gemz from Counterwallet? No you can't. A counterwallet passphrase will not work in GetGems and Vice versa

Darkcoin changed to DASH Maybe GetGems and the naming of the GEMS inside the app can both change to Gemz? GEM is already taken by another bitcoin company btw - https://gem.co/. I would vote for Gemz Messenger if indeed the tokens inside the app also change to Gemz, if not then GetGems is the best choice, but the most important is putting a solid working app and releasing the airdrop and AE. Poloniex calls them gemz edit: (as a ticker) That's because that is the name of the Counterparty asset.

I'm sorry. Totally forgot to update here. There has been an intermediate release for a few days now which is here https://github.com/fimkrypto/mofowallet/releases/tag/v0.4.6 i'm sorry it's not final but the new (now really) free chat feature (called the gossip protocol btw..) is taking up a lot of time. Yes, working, thanks.

Is this fix going to be released? If not soon let me know... I'll either go back one version or just change my passcode to not have the space and transfer all my coins and stuff.

Yea, secureae only allows for buy/sell of assests and sending NXT. You can download NRS or use an online wallet like http://jnxt.org/nxt/

2. I get about 0.018 / day. Is there a minimum before staking can happen?
What does this mean? Where do you get that .018 from? It's a daily transfer from Genesis Mining. Got it.

@ Investors, what do you guys think should I do to boost the traffic?
advertise on The gambling website or a contest to write an article on the blog / website Agreed, or advertise on faucet sites/networks as well. I don't think faucet sites are going to bring the kind of traffic that we are looking for, they will bring traffic from people looking to use the faucet which will only cut into our profits. I would say that a signature campaign or forum advertising would likely be the most effective way to advertise. See, my thought is that people that use faucets are pretty new to BTC and are probably looking for stuff to do with their BTC. Also, Faucets are there for little more than to get advertising $s so I think you could get many eyes with not a lot of money. If you think the faucet in the site is being abused, just change the rules.

There's a bug in the iOS wallet transaction display.
when I swipe to the right to see my BTC balance
It shows
Balance 389
received GEMS +389 Deposit Bits +389
I think there should be one entry there.

This app is dying just like I thought so. Nxtty has a fraction of marketcap and has a lot more downloads. for all the pretty pictures no one is using this app. fail
How do you know this? Do you have live usage numbers?

Thanks... it would be nice if the wales would put out a bit more buy support for NSC. Selling them for 1 NXT really isn't much of an incentive to forge.

So any ETA on that fixed build?

I just registered as a new user on iOS. I sent a few GEMZ and some BTC to my Gems wallet address on the blockchain. The Gems showed up in my wallet, but the BTC did not. How do I withdraw funds from my Gems wallet address? I tried to enter my 12 word Mnemonic on counterwallet.io. But counterwallet.io does not accept it as a valid 12 word passphrase. When I enter the 12 words here: https://dcpos.github.io/bip39/None of the generated addresses match the address of my Gems wallet. What is going on here? How do I recover the correct private key of my wallet? Your pass phrase should work in Hive Wallet and MultiBit HD. http://getgems.ghost.io/2015/06/18/getgems-developer-update-12/

No problem. Glad to see it's fixed. I'll install the new build once you get it released.

OK, that's what I expected. Yes, I started the server.
I think I see what is happening... when I sign in with my pass phrase I get a different account than my account.
However, if I open the wallet from the previous version and do show password, it shows the correct passphrase, the same one I am trying to enter in the new wallet when I sign in.
sure it's the same? not perhaps a missing space at the start or end? what happens if you only login in for the session.. Sign in / Enter pass phrase / FIMK / [enter the passphrase] / Save to wallet? answer NO / Continue.. Ok, it looks like my passphrase ends with a space. However, I'm guessing the new wallet is trimming that space, because when I remove the space in the web UI it shows me the same account number that the mofo wallet UI shows. Why would the wallet from settings display the correct account and phrase that I logged in with but the home show the wrong account? I am signing in by entering my passphrase and clicking no to the same prompt. EDIT: So "dashboard" shows the right account, but home shows the wrong account.

I'm guessing that's why it's not forging.
