BitcoinDark Weekly Dividends to Stakers

15 BTCD have been paid to 2,767 unique BitcoinDark addresses for successfully staking blocks 588906-599690.

Thanks to MM-BTCD and bitcoindarkdice.net for contributing this week's payment.

BitcoinDark is the only coin that pays Stakers dividends for staking and it continues to have a positive effect on network strength.
Please remember to have your wallets running and unlocked for staking in order to successfully stake blocks.

News for next week: BTCOR revenues for MM-BTCD were pushed back so expect a bigger dividend for next week.

I've been staking for over a week, why didn't I see a dividend - I mean, a divided of 15. I did see small interest dividends, but not the 15 btcd you're mentioning here.

thanks!

I think 15 BTCD is the total amount paid. So stakers got 15 / 2767 or 0.00542103361 each.

Old passphrase doesn't work for me (does work for counterwallet.io), saying I should contact support.
Should I just create a new one and transfer the funds ?

Yes, old passphrase will only work in counterwallet.

New GetGems passphrase now uses the "default" layout mentioned in the BIP32 spec. (this one time change was needed because counterparty isn't using the default key words to generate their passphrase thus isn't compatible with other apps in the bitcoin ecosystem)

To make things clear:
(1) New GetGems passphrase can be used in https://web.hivewallet.com/ and https://multibit.org/ to recover bitcoins (not gems)
(2) https://counterwallet.io/ can be used for gems on-chain.
(3) in-app Gems are off-chain, meaning they wont show in https://counterwallet.io/.

So, to get this straight...

1. The "old" pass phrase will work in counterwallet.io because they do NOT use the BIP32 spec?
2. The "new" pass phrase will work NOT work in counterwallet.io
3. The "new" pass pharse will work in hive wallet and multibit. Do they support counterparty assets? What about Electrum?
3. When you say Multi-Bit I assume you mean the new Multibit HD? Or do you mean the old multibit?

So to be clear, if I have no BTC in my Gems wallet and I press proceeded a new BIP32 pass phrase will be generated and that is used for the Bitcoin HD addresses but any Gems in my wallet account will be "transfered" because they are off-chain and tied to my Gems account/phone number or something other than my pass phrase?

Is that all correct?

Not sure if anyone is watching this thread any more. But, the most recent update doesn't work on my iPhone 5. I just get the title screen and nothing more.

I'm pretty sure once you send the Gemz to your counterparty address #1 the gemz will wallet should appear. Try a test of 100 Gemz to make sure, it might awhile for the Gemz to appear, I find that small amounts can take up to 45 mins.

I successfully received Gemz and it's wallet appeared in Counterwallet but there is a lock icon on it and when i click 'show info' it says on the top "Info for GEMZ (Read Only)" so will i not be able to transfer the Gemz or something or what does this lock mean?

It means no more GEMZ can be issued. You should also have a SEND in the drop down menu which lets you send them to any bitcoin (counterpary) address.

I received the first two dividends for my stake I am hodling with the official BTCD wallet. But I have not received any dividend for my mgmBTCD assets on the Nxt Asset exchange. Are the dividends only paid to "real" BTCD stakeholders?

My understanding is the current dividends are going to minters... not just stake holders.

Guys how do i transfer Gemz to Counterwallet.io? Never used Counterwallet before, do i need to create a Gemz token apart from BTC and XCP and where do i get the Gemz address from Counterwallet to transfer funds to?

You are using the gems app right ? It's easy you just create your counterwallet ("create a wallet") once you have a wallet you see your public key on the top right of your wallet assets. Then you can just send your Gemz to this address.

Let me know if you experience any difficulty

I'm sending from koinify and poloniex, i don't see anywhere 'create a wallet' in counterwallet, there is only 'create new address' and 'import funds' which talks about private key import and stuff.

A counterwallet address IS a bitcoin address.

Just send a counterparty asset to one of your counterwallet addresses, and the asset will show up in that address.

I downloaded wallet, but it is not synchroniying, any advice? It says zero active connections.

Please check the opening post of the BTCD forum. You can find most solutions to wallet syncing issues there.

If you continue to have issues please ask again.

is it possible to avoid these steps?

Yes if the Dev's released a wallet which would automatically generate BitcoinDark.conf.

Alot of coins allready have this.
Thanks for reply  Smiley
I will wait  Wink

Why?

When is MoFo going to update for NXT 1.5.x? Running anything before that at this point might put you on a fork, and probably eventually be locked out.

To be honest, the staking rewards are still quite dissapointing. Im staking 2k+ BTCD, and it takes a looooong time to stake 1 BTCD. I hope this will change when the additional rewards kick in. Another 2x 5% are coming right ?

You get 5% interest per year. What's your bank paying you?

How many confirmations does NXT need for a transaction to fully confirm? I sent some over 12 hours ago and it now has 528 confirmations, yet still doesn't show as fully confirmed.  It doesn't seem viable for a currency for this to be normal. Is the network malfunctioning?
720 confirms for fully not rollback.
Generally,10 confirms is enough.

Wow. That's going to take close to a day to process a single transaction. Thanks for the info.

Er, seems to be some confusion here......
10 confirms is more than enough to be spendable, the 720 confirmations/blocks is the rollback limit coded into NXT:
https://nxtforum.org/general/transaction-confirmations-best-practice/

The confusion seems to be in the client, explorer, and/or network because I went to bed last night with over 850 confirmations yet the explorer showed it as "unconfirmed" and it still hadn't arrived.  Just had a chance to check today and it now has over 1275 confirms yet the explorer still shows it as unconfirmed.  However, the funds do seem to have finally arrived after a day and a half!

Are you running NRS v1.5.x?

Can you post the transaction ID (or PM it me)?

I was using Mofowallet's web client, my third attempt to get a working client (the one I had installed from months ago now gives the error "An error occurred, the server has quit. Please restart the application" when I try launching it), the official client apparently requires the command line to launch now (which I'm perfectly comfortable using) but just gives multiple error messages when I try, and the first web client I tried seemed to want me to register and create a new wallet with no way to use my existing one.

Conceptually, I like NXT, but if the goal is widespread consumer adoption, it has a long way to go.

Mofo Wallet is nice... but I don't think they have updated the NXT side to 1.5 yet.

The standard NRS is pretty easy... as long as you have Java installed. I think they recently moved to a new version required. That may be why it doesn't run for you.

It depends on what you mean by "fully confirmed". It will take 1440 confirms before it will forge. But, the coins are probably pretty safe after 10 confirms or so. NXT attempted to do a roll back once, but just getting all the major forgers to do something is near impossible.

I signed up for a month, you just enter your email address on their site and chose your duration. The website displays a bitcoin address and amount to pay (but no QR code). I made the payment to the address specified in the amount requests.

They sent me an email after a little bit of time, maybe 10 minutes or so that after 6 confirms they would send me connection info.

That didn't happen... however, I got an email from them asking if I got my setup info. I informed them I didn't and they sent it shortly after.

They sent me a link to an OpenVPN config file (they should really send you the file as an attachment since I had to connect to their server to d/l the file). I dropped it into my OpenVPN config folder and connected to it.

So, yea, it works. Whatsyourip shows I'm connected to an endpoint Montreal, Canada.

However, the bandwidth is pretty low. I have a 50Mbps symmetric connection and SpeedTest shows about 1.5-2.0Mbps speed d/l and half that upload.

This is compared to HideMyAss where I get almost my full 50Mbps/50Mbps speeds.

So, it seems, bandwidth wise anyway, you get what you pay for. But, I'll stick at it, perhaps it's a busy period or something.

PilotofBTC, sorry about that. Our automatic BTC IPN seemed to have a mistake for your order, that's why were able to get the BTC transaction associated with your email address but the VPN didn't get automatically delivered.

That is why we contacted you to ensure the delivery.

I am sorry about the slow connection, we have been taken by swarm with new orders.

We will be upgrading the quality of our networks a lot soon!

Also please test your network when using HideMyAss with http://orcahub.com

You will notice that VPN is not DDoS protected.

No bit deal. But, I do have two suggestions...

1. Rather than display the bitcoin address/amount on the web, send an email with an invoice with a QR code. I was concerned I may have fat fingered my email address, if that happened I'm not sure what recourse I would have had.

2. Send the openVPN config file as an attachment. I don't want you logging my real IP address when I d/l the config file.

I will stick with you for my paid period. If the speed gets up over 20Mbps consistently I will stick around for a bit. But, if not, I will move on.

How long after 6 confirmations does it take to get directions/info to connect to the VPN?

It seems like you actually bought it. If you did, do tell us if you got what you paid for. It just seems to cheap to be true.

I mean, spending $2 to try it didn't seem much of a risk. I will report back after trying it.

I see that you now can send dollar, like type $10 and send, how does this work, is this $10 dollars in bitcoin? Does the other person receive bitcoin, i guess so right?
I don't see that.
But, when you send Gems, the icon you tap to send is the gem icon, and BTC, it's the bitcoin icon. What icon do you see when you type in $1? I still just get the normal text send button.
Just type the amount with $ sign after it, like 10$ and the icon on the rigth will turn into $, pretty cool.

We will add that you are able to type 10$ or $10.
The fiat amount is converted to btc for now.

I think the "send" icon then should be the bitcoin then, not a $... so you know which currency/coin you are sending.

Unfortunately, there is less progress for the coin. The only flicker of hope was the mofo wallet development. But this is not enough to push the coin . Are there still plans to establish FIMK as a digital alternative for Euro in Finland?

I think that poloniex and bittrex have established themselves as two of the better and more thrustworthy exchanges. I can understand you don't want to be there, but calling the obscure may be a bit too much Wink
Two things:

- I didn't say we don't want FIMK to be listed at exchanges like Poloniex or Bittrex
- I didn't call polo or trex obscure, I called FIMK obscure [at this moment] from the point of view of most of the audience.

Feel free to endeavor for FIMK's listing if you feel like that.

It will be listed anyway "everywhere" when the time is ripe  Wink

You must be out of your mind, this coin has been dead for months now.

In finnish bitcoin forums people are laughing at FIMK, devs have a zero credibility there.

There is no single avarege joe/jane in Finland that have heard about this shitcoin

There's probably no average joe or jane that has heard about any alt coin in any country. They 'might' have heard of bitcoin but have no idea what it is or thing it is a ponzi scheme.

ios version updated, still with bugs on iphone 4,
and referral mechanism still deactivated

Good to see, maybe the referral system is something they just turn on from Gems end not an actual update?

With Apple slow review system Gems really shouldn't rush sending an update cause we are looking at around 2 weeks for updates to process, better to spend some time before sending than have to send twice. I hope though the bugs are minor and don't mean another update to solve.

yes referral mechanism is apart, doesn't need an app update, is server stuff, and the bug are not quite minor, after i enter the verification code it goes to where you must enter your new username or existent user and stays there with a dark-transparent screen and a loading animation, cant go further from there. but the app is optimized for iphone 5 and 6, so i dont know, im just saying, maybe if they fix this problems in iphone 4 wont appear in 5 and 6

Not good if true as the update was to actually fix registration bugs and is essential before we move forward, iPhone 5 is a little old to be honest though. lets see.

Seriously? How long do you keep a cell phone?
