401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is this board going to start talking about XtraBytes? on: May 27, 2017, 08:11:27 PM
There's a certain business sense behind keeping the unique aspects of the coin closed source.  No publically traded company gives out all their trade secrets and intellectual property as it would cost them money as people would simply rip off their work.  Closed source makes business sense. I'm a businessman and investor.  Investing in something anyone can copy makes little sense.  They need to keep their static node tech closed source until the coin gains traction.

In any case open source the coin if you want.  There seem to be some butthurt people in the crypto space.  By the way, I almost didn't buy this coin because I didn't want to deal with yobit.  I needs to be on bittrex asap.

I'm not happy its sitting below my buy price but I don't expect an instant pump either. I invest, not pump or manipulate (well I try my best lol)

I hope your not part of this coins PR team. You remind me of the angry guy in the Ark thread, and I still bought ark in spite of his attitude.
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the fairest distribution for cryptocurrency? on: May 27, 2017, 04:11:41 PM
Free stakes.  No need to charge if the project is legit, it will shine in time and devs can profit from the 10% they keep.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is this board going to start talking about XtraBytes? on: May 27, 2017, 04:09:26 PM
Meh... Relax, OP... As someone who is heavy into NEM and now own xtrabytes, it will take time to build awareness.  Buy some more and enjoy The opportunity to buy cheap.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monaco Visa ICO - tomorrow - latest scam? on: May 27, 2017, 01:02:05 AM
I'm skeptical of all ICOs.  They should distribute the coin XEM style... give away stakes for little to no cost, keep 10% of the coin for themselves, and if they PROVE themselves the price will go up, and they can then reap the profits.   Even more skeptical when it involves tokens.  At least with dogecredits they gave away the tokens. :p  What makes developers think they are entitled to millions of dollars in BTC without proving themselves when there's such a large history of them taking the money and running? A fool and his money...

If the ICO is cheap and appealing enough. Thus far the only one that seems to interest me is Wagerr... and they are trying to do a 4 million dollar ICO plus keep an 8% stake. I'd trust them more if they priced it to be a million dollar or less ICO, and priced it at a cent per coin, and kept 10% for themselves.   I suppose if the developers provide enough information about themselves so that I can track them down, look up their history, and put a bounty on them if they don't keep their promise and just kind of run off and leave, that might give me some satisfaction. Smiley
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy when there's blood in the streets on: May 27, 2017, 12:17:24 AM
you knew we were in a bubble when dogshit dogecoin started to pump ... no reason to own it at all.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: future coins on: May 27, 2017, 12:12:27 AM
NEM and Xtrabytes.  Obviously I own them. (duh)  Do your own DD.   I also own Ark but am not as excited about it as the other two.
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the fair price for the most undervalued coin of the moment? (list) on: May 27, 2017, 12:00:32 AM
I have 15k ark and 530k xtrabytes.  Xtrabytes has 20 bagger potential.

XtraBytes has the potential to completely change how the blockchain is run, zero bullshit.

What other coin can claim 100% impossible to hack? Including Bitcoin, plus with no mining or POS. I believe in time people might be using this coins technology as the base for many other coins.

To say this coin is undervalued is a joke, it's a potential coin to rule all other coins.

As long as they don't open source the whole project early on.. I maintain that the most valuable aspects of the coin should not be released so other people can copy them, at least not before the coin has become popular and has rewarded it's early investors.

I have 15k ark and 530k xtrabytes.  Xtrabytes has 20 bagger potential.
Sorry, English is not my mother tongue, what do you mean with the world "bagger"?

A 20 bagger would be an investment that goes up 1900%... basically 20 times it's original investment. It's a term used by stock traders in the United States.

Outside of these small ones like xtrabytes, NEM/XEM is still my favorite as the crypto that institutions could adopt due to it's scalability, the ability to handle 3000 transactions per second securely, among NEM's other features. That's the most important aspect of the blockchain.. the services aspect and the tokens especially, are mostly things used to scam people out of their money as of now, which is why I'm not all that excited about ethereum.  Plus there's a dozen different altcoins that do the same thing, and to my knowledge no other altcoin with XEM's scalability as (which is a good thing) NEM has not opened up the entire source code for everyone to see... the Mijin code is under wraps for now.

To my knowledge however, xtrabytes is probably one of the most secure coins out there, that assumes the static nodes aren't under control of too few individuals. I'm not sure how they are distributed right now and who actually owns them all, and because registering closed at block 50,000, I cannot get one.  If a single individual happen to own more than 50% of the static nodes, that might be a bad situation there. This is why they should reopen registration as soon as they are running under the new blockchain smoothly.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy when there's blood in the streets on: May 26, 2017, 11:57:04 PM
a modest selloff so far... hardly what I would call blood in the streets.  Hopefully just a blip in the road to $100B market cap.

If it tanks below 200 sats I'll pick up another BTC worth. :p

he steps on the clutch and the toilet goes flush.. unfortunately the bubble popped before we could get that final push to $4B.. a long term hold but there could be short term pain.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: CEX.io vs Kraken on: May 26, 2017, 04:45:46 PM
Yes that is what you call margin trading. Buy bitcoin at an exchange where the price is low and sell bitcoin at an exchange where the price is high. You have to keep in mind that the exchanges also have a fee and limit the amount you can trade. You can upgrade your trading limit by getting verified with KYC.

Wrong term.  The correct term is arbitrage.  Margin is trading with credit.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where to....Poloniex? on: May 26, 2017, 10:38:00 AM
I've had no problems with poloniex yet so meh.  I only transfer BTC in and out though, I don't transfer out any ALTS.  I'm also careful with every step I take and make sure I transfer when the site is not lagging.
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple is in major trouble on: May 25, 2017, 01:31:37 PM
This is why open sourcing all your code when you have unique technology is a bad idea. Someone will just take the code and implement their own solution. Better off treating your code as intellectual property.  All these open source coins are inherently worthless from the perspective of all their "unique features" because big corporations will just rip off their ideas.

414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XtraBYtes - The Proof of Signature Blockchain Revolution on: May 24, 2017, 09:22:58 PM
I support at least delaying the release of the source for some time until the project matures. A few people might complain but let them.   NEM is mature technology and a top 5 coin though I would still not release the full source code, I would make other companies license and pay a fee to use the code.  I'm not sure how they are working out the Mijin project with Tech bureau, but a lot of the under the hood improvements are still being kept under wraps.  The reason there are 500 altcoins with 475 of them being more or less worthless clone coins is the open source concept. It's better for the blockchain technology as it continues to mature to have a few good closed or partially open source projects that cannot simply be cloned.  At the very least, the parts of the source code that make this coin unique from others should be kept as confidential.

Ripple is proof that a coin can become extremely valuable despite a negative perception by a number of people.

It should be open source, everything gets cloned but the original is always king.

There's tons of coins with cool innovations that are open source, open source leads to other developers ripping the code apart, experimenting and improving....

Open source everything...

I do understand that argument. It also lets more people make improvements to the existing project more easily.  NEM has had it's share of volunteers that have made various improvements.  I'm just glad to see we are debating the pros and cons here. I like to hear this discussion. Delay releasing the code until the project is more mature? Releasing the code to people who are trusted and plan to make improvements that are part of the xtrabytes team? There are a few things that I ponder.

I like the name. Takes me back to Final Fantasy VI.

just another proof of work clone coin. Nothing interesting here, there's already 500 like it.   Personally I think you'd be happier with Xtrabytes (XBY)

418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [ARK] Ark Speculation on: May 24, 2017, 07:43:27 PM
I have 15,000 Ark.  I was hesitant to invest in any coin with much more than a 20 million market cap with my XEM and I came to the conclusion this coin and Xtrabytes were good projects.   I bought this one a few weeks back and xtrabytes the other day at 333 and 320 sats... total 550,000 XBY give or take 25,000.  Very small investments relative to the value of my XEM.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lack of good "buy" options on: May 24, 2017, 06:55:40 PM
NEM is "less overvalued" than the other top 10 coins, and should double or more yet. Other then that I suggest cashing out and putting the money in a banking account.  Or maybe xtrabytes. Proof of signature technology. Unique and a dedicated team. Get it before it's listed on bittrex.   Beware the deadline to set up a static node ended at the 50,000th block. They are transitioning to a new blockchain and after that time in the future may open up future static node registration.

You're wrong. NEM/XEM will be the safe investment. Time will prove my prediction as this coin hits $5B within 2 weeks.
