402  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What would happen if ALL countries's borders were taken away tomorrow? on: February 06, 2017, 09:13:01 PM
Eventually people would redistribute in a way that lower the asymmetries. Not a perfect World, though, the predatory and viral behavior of humans would cause some groups to try to isolate themselves by... restoring borders.
403  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Six other times the US has banned immigrants on: February 06, 2017, 08:31:06 PM
Correcting the article, the Jews weren't banned because they fear Nazis among them, they were banned for Terrorism. By 1930's Jews were using terrorism and set a lot of bombs where is now Israel along with assassinations, such as the British consul in Cairo (1938).

Jews and World War 2 is a backwards justification. The war did not start because Jews, did not start due to concentration camps.
404  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What would happen if ALL countries's borders were taken away tomorrow? on: February 06, 2017, 08:26:16 PM
Until things come back to balance, it would be total chaos, with the current main economies to be overcrowded and crime rates spiking. Afterwards would be a good thing... but we don't know exactly how long it would take for balance to re-settle, it could mean several generations.
405  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are terrorists only muslim in religion? on: February 06, 2017, 08:21:37 PM
Depends on the time and definition.
Terrorism has a long history and not all related to Muslims or even religion.

First we must start by throw away the "this guy calls that a terrorist", because that way you get any riot or revolution to be terrorist, and stick to "blind attacks on civilians unrelated to your cause", such as bombing.

Within this sort of terrorism, its first endorsers were called "Anarchists" (a group barred from entering USA at the time and the origin of the law Trump used), they tossed bombs all over Europe, being the most notorious attack at Barcelona, Spain.
Moving on with time we get the Communists, such as the Spartacus League at Germany.
Later on you get the Jewish terrorism (again Jews got barred from entering USA...).
Since the Munich Olympics Islam joins in the parade.
Political groups, such as the Spanish ETA or Irish IRA come within.

As for the terrorism as the meaning of "living under terror" (or fear); then Islam is terrorism from the core up, those people live under constant fear of their vengeful and not at friendly imaginary friend. But before them, by the 4th Century a.C., Catholicism was already rooting up to be practically the same as the Islamic religion...

So as you see, it's kind of a tricky question...
406  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dangerous country on: February 06, 2017, 05:52:41 PM
Don't get me wrong, it isn't always wrong to stop someone by force. But to justify it you have to build a rational structure, and appealing to emotion isn't it.
The very same rational reason you apply to not eat dog can be applied to any other animal.
407  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dangerous country on: February 06, 2017, 02:29:23 PM
At some places they also eat cockroaches, a thing we don't do too... How about that? Isn't already a cute animal so you don't care?

Fascism would be if they force you to eat it. Believe yourself to be so right that everyone must abide by you, by force if necessary, that's fascism.
408  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dangerous country on: February 06, 2017, 02:09:34 PM
That's fascism... in its real meaning. Not using it as an insult.
Why would your morality would stand against another group's morality? What makes you think you're so right that you can run over anyone else's morality to impose your own?

I can understand that view by practical reasons, such as near extinction animals, but never because you think they are too nice to be ate. That's non-sense!
409  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dangerous country on: February 06, 2017, 01:57:35 PM
If I could then all would be organized a worldwide movement to demand that the governments of all countries to apply the most severe sanctions to all countries who eat dogs, dolphins and whales until they do not impose criminal liability for such actions.

This means you're a fascist (strict sense of its meaning, not insult). You're trying to shove your view under other people's throat for no reason.
About morality, moral is a relative and cultural subject.
410  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think in the future on DONALD TRUMP in his term of presidency ? on: February 06, 2017, 03:55:00 AM
I really wonder why now everybody want to go to USA...  Roll Eyes
For crying out loud! It's their country! Lots of countries have visa's restriction and no whining babies come around to cry! Why is that? No touristic places there?
The press just pick on Trump and will undermine anything he does, amplifying it to sound like the ultimate disgrace in the world. Don't be a fool and don't get fooled by that!
Americans didn't vote for him by mistake, at best for lack of options, but not by mistake.

And by "educated and informed" I think many mean "brainwashed".
411  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dangerous country on: February 06, 2017, 03:43:46 AM
Dog meat is just another source of protein for the Chinese. At least it is better than getting the protein from Soya, which is imported from the ex-forest croplands of Brazil. It can slow down the deforestation of the Amazon forest.

About vegetarians and soy, I found it funny the soy fallacy. It's reported that only 20% of the soy produced is for human consume, being the remaining 80% for cattle.
Looks good, doesn't it? But it's a fallacy! Because only 0,5% of the world population is vegetarian, round up to 1% for get the figure on people who consume soy on a regular basis, even 2% to be nice, and you get 2% consuming 20% of the current production. This means you would need to push up at least 1000% (10x) the current soy production for the whole humanity to can get proteins just from that source - not eat meat.
412  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Hillary Clinton Trustworthy? on: February 06, 2017, 03:36:51 AM
@criptix

Many people tend to look at US as one country, but they're a sort of EU with 50 members. They're just together by a longer time and share, in the basic, the same language, so they are a mature sort of EU. At some states you can do one thing, at others it's forbidden or you need to comply with a set of rules to do it, taxes, wages, housing, food prices, life style may also differ, and so on.
413  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you eat a human? on: February 06, 2017, 03:31:29 AM
Let's put one thing straight here, when we are talking about these extremes situations we aren't talking about killing the person to eat him/her. At Andes' the survivors didn't kill themselves for meat, they took it from those already dead from the crash.
About fishing or hunting... good luck find anything at over 5000m of altitude!
414  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dangerous country on: February 06, 2017, 03:22:34 AM
I think is less that they eat dog but how they threat their livestock.
It is common in china to just cut off extremities of living dogs for an easier transportation. And that tbh. is pretty sick... (like certain mass husbandry types in western nations)

Never been to a chinese dog market, but from the ones I know at East Timor, they treat it like any other meat stock, not cut or trim them alive.
Beware with PETA's advertising, they won't care to lie all the way if they believe that will fulfill their wacky agenda!
415  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump: safe zones for syria; imminent us-russian war? on: February 05, 2017, 08:11:05 PM
That's unrelated to Syria anyway... Russia will not engage USA for force it to buy oil from them, they will take the hit and surf the new advantage on China. American companies can get out from there, but they already leave their technology behind, a hit that will take a decade for US to recover.
416  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Talking about Atheism... on: February 05, 2017, 08:05:58 PM
No, no and no! Atheists are not a group of sensitive people, atheism is just disbelief on supranatural, you can be a Nazi and an atheist, just not KKK because that's religion oriented. There must not be used as a grouping factor.
But, with time we see more and more groups trying to push their political agendas as being part of atheism, creating dogmas within it. If dogmas works the way we all know at organized religion, it will not work differently with atheism. We are already seeing even our "Shia vs Shiite" or "Catholic vs Protestant" side as a guy from alt-right got assaulted by atheists for being an atheist... but one of different dogma, as it seams.
And by picking up all sort of fights these groups are creating nothing but unrest and in time put to trash all achievements that can be worked out without harassment of communities.
417  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump: safe zones for syria; imminent us-russian war? on: February 05, 2017, 04:49:20 AM
What interests?! Why would US' interests conflict with Russian at Syria? Obama's "friend" and ISIS leader, Erdogan*, may be interested into get Syria to restart his Ottoman Empire, but this doesn't mean Trump will play along.
As for oil, Russians and Americans can cut it 50-50.

* Won't you find strange his priorities to be 1st eliminate PKK (Curds), 2nd Assad and "finally" 3rd ISIS/Daesh... Also FSA was trained at Turkey and most just changed allegiance on arrival to ISIS.
418  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump: safe zones for syria; imminent us-russian war? on: February 03, 2017, 05:30:30 AM
Everyone insist to talk on this as if Trump's idea was to shelter terrorists at that safe zone!
Neither Russians, Iranians or Syrians are fighting civilians, and that's what a safe zone is for.

About Obama's... well... the Russians were way patient!

Like an Apache escorting ISIS convoys:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jQRqU-KAcM

Supplies to the facade "FSA" ending up with ISIS:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9k9HbHMZqg

A second hand Texan pick-up ending with them:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8ojLvxXLKo

Supply crates falling "by mistake" at ISIS controlled territory, and so on, and so on...
Actually since Russians put boots on the ground ISIS keeps loosing territory after territory, now if Trump keeps to his word, it may be finally the end of that thing.
419  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump first action as a president: attack abortion right on: February 01, 2017, 01:27:43 AM
Although this policy does not directly affect services in the US, Mr Trump has said he supports an abortion ban at home.
His signing of this order as one of his first executive actions indicates he still sees the issue as a priority.

Now do you see i am asking not to do it..Be smart..
Some say he will some say he wont..
Makes no difference JUST DON'T BE A DUMB ASS ..Cost more to keep than abort..
...

Well... if we start to look at death as a solution, then we don't need old people's homes anymore, do we? Or complaint of terrorism or Hitler or anything alike, after all they were "just reducing the population" so you can find a parking spot...  Roll Eyes
420  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Talking about Atheism... on: January 31, 2017, 03:19:24 PM
The US was always the land of extremes.
Freedom, democracy, science in one hand - racism, wars and religion on the other.

Maybe much higher social standards in europe do play a roll?!

Well, you have to be kinda extreme to cross over the Atlantic in something like the Mayflower. The brave ones took off and left all you "standard" Brits behind. Being brave and bold, of course they are going to teach their outspokenness to their kids and grandkids, etc.

Cool

Actually Europe has been like that for too long, too many wars amongst us, too much of bloodshed... until we come to try to be more comprehensive to live together. Isn't that hard to share the space if you don't go pick on any minor thing as a big offense, tolerate to be tolerated, being intransigent to others will make them intransigent to you.
You can't compare millenniums of History to the New World.
