401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making too many picks reduces chances of winning. on: January 15, 2024, 10:37:30 PM
~
It's not parlay so just in general spreading your bets across various matches instead? I'd say that's common sense really. It's not even a matter of not being able to analyze all games, just the fact that your money is spread over various games already screams of reducing the profits you could possibly gain. Whoever thought of this probably mistook his gambling portfolio for his trading portfolio really.

Not to mention that winning a lot is a lot harder compared to winning it big once. In essence really it's rather similar to how parlay works, though I guess the former is still better than the latter.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What ugly incident or occurrence have you ever experienced in gambling? on: January 15, 2024, 11:33:33 AM
Couldn't play the video for some reason sadly. Still, though, slipups aren't exactly something new, even happen with pc, let alone with mobile phones. It's just that... it's rather surprising how he has this record, whatever happened. You'd usually never have a reason to, unless ofc this was a duplicate of what ever originally happened and they just did the exact same steps to replicate it.

Anyhow back to the slipups, I don't think I've had anything big? It usually just stems from adding another 0 (oops, that's actually pretty big in some scenarios) or misclicking say in crash by stopping early on when you originally had no plans to.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What strategies do you adopt that can help to make millions in sport betting on: January 14, 2024, 11:15:33 PM
Wouldn't it be betting big on a good game only? I mean in the end the games rely on those types of things and if you were to say, have a close to guaranteed match that was the result of your analysis that has good odds, then betting it big would easily make you a millionaire. In the first place having a consistent way of winning isn't feasible even in sports gambling, it just doesn't happen. Even a small factor can turn a 99% chance of winning a bet to losing it immediately so the longer it happens, the longer the chances of you becoming a millionaire lowers. Compared that to one single big win, which is what most people want, it's almost too easy.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another question? Tell me your average amount per bet and your monthly income? on: January 14, 2024, 10:40:32 PM
My usual bet doesn't usually go beyond $20. Sometimes I go for $30 but that's about it. I don't really entertain the idea of going beyond that. As for sharing my monthly income, well, I'm not really that comfortable sharing it but the amount I usually gamble per month comes to about 5-10% of my income. Said income only includes those from my corpo job though and any income I get from my freelancing activities and ones like I do here in the forum usually stays as either savings or investments.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's The Weirdest Alibi Of Gamblers So They Can Continue Gambling? on: January 14, 2024, 12:30:52 PM

"I'm just letting the casino collect it so I can get it back x2 or even more" was one of the dumbest but also funniest things I've heard when I was pulling my friend away from his phone while he was gambling so that we can finally start talking about some of our vacation plans. And tbf, I was almost persuaded if it wasn't for the fact that I could see him trying to deposit more money in to play a bit longer. Well I guess the casino is still working as his bank to date since afaik he's still gambling.
406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does signing up with affiliate links gives these benefits? on: January 14, 2024, 06:10:10 AM
Many youtubers and friends share their referral codes/affiliate links, saying you will get bonuses, real money, or free spins. but I wonder if casinos give extra help or benefits in some different situations.

For example, when someone wins a big multiplier and multiplies their account by 100x, then some casinos take a long time to process the withdrawal, or they may not even give the money. however, some say that if you sign up using a good affiliate or influencer affiliate code which have huge audience, then you won't face these type issues. also, if you promote the casino using your referral link, they might not hold back your withdrawal because you helped them get new customers.

is this kind of things is considered shady practice, or is it considered fair in the online gambling world?
Err no, those don't happen afaik. Affiliate links are there to benefit whoever gave them out, not those who are using them. Otherwise, you would've expected a lot of bots to be farming the hell out of that kind of mechanic. Well even if it was a mechanic like what you said, I don't think casinos would implement it since in the first place, withdrawals are withheld because they're trying to trace any possibility of the funds the account has being used for AML. Plus, it's mostly an automated process of gathering data, and then a person just has to check whatever the results are and if suspicious would they only then do a much more intensive background check.

I don't think a shady practice between user and casino is even possible in the case of online gambling really. Well, maybe fake reviews but those are hired hands compared to natural site users.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Alter Ego In Gambling on: January 14, 2024, 01:09:32 AM
Wouldn't you think that his personality during gambling is his real one? I wouldn't really call a mask an alter ego tbh. Though I guess it's still up to you to judge but really, personalities are often shown on situations where emotions run high, and I reckon gambling is in most instances, one of those situations. Not that it's bad though since said person actually has enough control of his emotions to not show it normally to their surroundings.

But anyway, I can't really tell if I change or not. I'm pretty honest and straightforward when it comes to bets and I myself do admit I have anger issues when emotions run high and I've seen it myself before, rather similar case with your friend. I wouldn't really call it an alter ego though.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land-based Casino Enjoyers are something else. on: January 13, 2024, 10:28:41 AM

Are we sure that's the girl peeing? Cause I can only think of two things as to why that's happening. For clout, or something is indeed leaking but not from the girl, but from the chair. Now idk how that happened but well, the vid shows that it happened.

As for assuming that the girl was indeed peeing, then I'm pretty damn sure that's a sickness now and not just something simple. The simple feeling of "needing" to relieve the bladder should be rather noticeable no matter what, and it only becomes not if something is wrong with the brain, most likely, of the said female.

But anyway, I don't think it's a reason to avoid casinos, just report them and move on if you ever see it happening, whether it be for clout or something wrong is actually happening. Otherwise everyone would avoid the outside especially me since I fear the day I meet my first Karen.
409  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the end of excitement on: January 13, 2024, 02:16:04 AM
I have been buying small amounts of bitcoin for over 10 years. While I was always knew bitcoin would grow I did hope that some events might make it jump up in price say 3 to 5 times. Events like etf approval, a harvening etc. I still remember those charts that had predicted supersonic prices by now. But now read that both the etf and harvening aew now priced in and yet the price is not even an earlier all time high.

Does that mean the excitement days are over. Has bitcoin become boring in terms of big price fluctuations☹️

I think it was rather expected, there was already a lot of noise beforehand that Bitcoin ETF was getting approved after all so it isn't really any surprise why the market didn't move as much as most people expected it to move. It is the Bitcoin market after all. There was also probably some stuff that happened in the background with regard to the ETF since we should have seen the market move with the new influx of buyers, but we didn't, so we can expect that they already had the coins to support the levels of new users that were incoming.

I'd probably wait a week to a month to see any big changes really.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Things in Binance Under New CEO - What are your thoughts? on: January 13, 2024, 01:52:58 AM
~
I think it's still too early to judge just based on the token listing rules they have? The new CEO is fundamentally different from CZ, which was really active among the crypto scene. You can't help but see his name and his opinions every now and then after all. As for the rules and stuff that they have on their exchange, I don't think I've experienced any big changes so far and I hardly doubt we'd see any in the foreseeable future as well. In the first place, CZ stepped down due to a violation AML, not issues with the internal rules of the exchange itself.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF approved, next Ethereum ETF? on: January 12, 2024, 01:05:54 PM
~
Definitely positive. I mean Bitcoin ETF has already been given a green light so I don't think anything else is stopping an Ethereum ETF from happening. Naturally the SEC would still have to do all their research stuff and whatnot before approving so it may take more time again just like Bitcoin ETF, but based on what we've experienced with ETH so far I don't think there's any bad aspects that are, well, bad enough for the SEC to not approve it. I reckon majority share the same sentiments really.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drug (cocaine) addicts compromises gambling potentials on: January 11, 2024, 11:30:26 PM
* Is gambling really to be blamed about the laundry drug addict guy who engaged in gambling in order to gain more money and afford his drugs?
~

* Was the political social influencer right to say getting to an end of online sport bets in the app stores and the moderating of gambling would regain back the devalued currency and attracts a growing economy back to ~

* Is gambling really to be blamed in ruining lifes?
~

1. He was already thinking of gambling as a source of money. I think at that point he was already lost since, well, gambling isn't a source. It's a form of entertainment. He probably should've simply chosen between the two, drugs or gambling (preferably the latter really since it can be controlled unlike the former).

2. Afaik gambling has always been a form of activity or commerce that encourages growth in the economy since it encourages people to spend money. If people didn't spend money, economy wouldn't move after all now would it? It was an idea you could often see back in the pandemic where the government persuaded people, even with stimulus checks, to spend money so that the economy of their country would continue slowly after the virus has alleviated.

3. The person themselves, not gambling. Otherwise, you would've already seen cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, or any addictive and harmful substance be banned by the government. In the end, those are tools, and mediums for enjoyment. As long as no one can tell that those things "force" you to use them, then it won't ever be banned. At least in a global scale, locally afaik some towns/cities have banned usage or limited them already.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: January 11, 2024, 10:43:26 PM
~
No? Addiction can come to anyone equally and rarely, if ever, does it actually discriminate. It all depends on your character in the end and that character can now depend on what your gender may be since well, growing up can differ depending on what your gender and surroundings are (and probably a bunch more factors).

Just looking at the culture the world has developed in general gambling isn't really a part of the repertoire of women and just from that, you can already see the way that the character was developed throughout times. And talking about "better" when it comes to gambling is kind of nonsensical really, more like better at handling finances instead?
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is the money manager? is it a casino or game provider? on: January 11, 2024, 12:47:15 PM
Most of the games in online casinos come from third parties or game providers such as Pragmatic Play, Bgaming, Pgsoft, Play'N Go, etc. When playing at any casino, we will use their services. Perhaps only the house edge games are fully owned and powered by the casino

So who actually manages finances? is it the casino itself or the game provider? Does the casino only get a commission from the game provider or buy the game license from the game provider?
Isn't it done automatically? At least that's what I would do. That, or casinos pay providers a monthly standard fee of x amount depending on the contract that they have. May vary though between two types, a standard fee or x amount depending on y usages or y earnings of the casino themselves via the game that they provided.

As for the agreement between casino and the provider, I'm pretty sure providers has their game licensed, but casinos don't necessarily buy it I think? It's more like a rental instead. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I used a mixer and then got banned from exchange. Now what? on: January 10, 2024, 10:42:27 PM
~
I don't think any big exchanges would accept you using mixers to transfer money to them. Pretty much all CEXs imo would have some kind of law/precaution with regard to mixers since they hide potential money laundering transactions and in such cases, they just choose to ban everyone who tries to use them.

I'm not familiar with how CEXs track tainted wallets but wouldn't the other wallets be fine? I mean if mixer > wallet 1 > wallet 2 > wallet 3 was the process, then any wallet that has sent coins to those 3 should be safe. I can't say the same for any wallet that has received coins from those 3 though since they may tie it to the coins received from the mixer. To be 100% safe though just avoid using any of them I guess? P2p might be the best option for your current existing funds.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Long-term profitable strategies on: January 10, 2024, 10:30:17 PM
Dunno if it works long term but betting low amounts on bigger multipliers can work. You can probably create some formula that can average out what specific multiplier you need to be able to win the amount you lost trying to achieve that one single specific win. If done properly I think that could work at the very least.

I wouldn't 100% rely on it though, it is still completely possible to lose your entire bankroll without getting back the amount you expect since, well, winning chances don't exactly go up with the number of times you lose, it just resets back to whatever it was originally. I've tried it before but did it randomly instead of trying to calculate and, well, it worked once or twice, but that's it. I often encountered more times where my bankroll went empty than not.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does it looks responsible as woman telling husband you gamble? on: January 10, 2024, 11:57:43 AM
~
Tell him, I don't think it's a big issue really. It's nothing special imo so I don't particularly see any big reason to hide it as well. Your husband also works as a sort of stopper for you in case you suddenly spiral down into gambling too much since having someone who knows that close to you can keep you in check. If an argument ensues then don't run away from it. You married each other so I reckon arguments are something you guys are supposed to tackle, not run away from anyway and I reckon discussing about habits, both good and bad, are a part of that.
418  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 09, 2024, 11:04:55 PM
The gambler is the one affected the most imo. Ofc in his perspective it's not anything that big since that's what he wants, but from a neutral perspective, they get hit first since only after they have no sources of money to play with do they try to turn towards their immediate surroundings whether it be friends, family, relatives, heck even neighbors.

This changes though if you view it from who benefits and who gets damaged the most. Naturally, since gambling is aligned with what the gambler wants, he's the one who benefits the most and his surroundings are the ones who get damaged the ones since said benefit comes from that damage.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 09, 2024, 10:27:06 PM
~
Isn't the result of his reference biased? Dec 31 and Jan 1 are key holiday events for almost the entire world so I believe it's rather expected that a lot more people won money within those two dates simply because a lot more people played during those days. And maybe even a lot more times compared to their regular play times!

Anw I don't believe playing every day is better, it's just nonsense since your chances don't stack up depending on the number of days you play, they always reset to 50/50. If we were to start thinking of missing our "luck" on x day because we didn't play, is that even luck in the first place? Kind of dumb to believe as well that a day that hasn't passed yet has something in it for us. Though I guess if you have the money I won't stop you.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your thoughts on VIP Programs in casinos? on: January 09, 2024, 01:08:25 PM
~
1. Not particularly. I often choose the reputation of the casino as well as how their support is. I rarely try to achieve VIP in the first place and if I ever do, I just let it sit there without concerning myself with the rewards they have. Which pretty much answers two I think?
3. Return on bets, free bets/spins/money, etc. Anything free really.

Anw I highly doubt VIP programs are that important for most people. Why? Since it's called a VIP. It's mostly for the higher end so it's not a "majority" type of thing imo, it's for a select specific category. Ofc this increases if you become lenient with your VIP programs, but still only for a very specific audience.
