Finally I can test and confirm that AMD has fixed the issue with slowdown at high DAG epochs for Vega/Polaris/Fiji cards. They are going to release new drivers in a few days.

Hello Mr. Claymore,
I have a little request: The word goes about these 2GB Radeon cards which are already not suitable for mining Ethereum... They can't dig Ethrtrum but still can do Musicoin, Expanse, etc. So when I begin to mine with them with the Dual miner (in ethereum-only mode) they try to switch to other pools in order to dig devfee, but the Ethereum DAG could not be fitted in their memory and the whole thing crashes (or the switching is so slow that this kills most of the useful time for mining)... The only workaround is to set -nofee 1 but then I loose the latest speed optimizations on these already slow cards... PLEASE, Mr. Claymore, remove this limitation in case when all the cards are 2GB. I'm agree to send you a part of the coins earned but this limitation is "to murder an already dead dog" in these cases...

It's a good idea to check FAQ in the first post of this thread and find the answer.

Claymore - is there any way to disable the "Failed to set new fan speed, check if miner has root access" console message?  I don't want to see the warning 8 times every 3seconds.

Don't specify "-tt" option.

Hi, Claymore, do you know by any chance why nvdia p106-100 are mining with 2MH/s speed on ethereum ?
Is it something i am missing here ?

The only similar issue I saw was in Windows 10 before Anniversary update, Nvidia had ridiculous hashrate for 10xx cards. After Anniversary update they fixed it.

Does tt, ttli, ttdcr work on Nvidia cards
I can't get them to work
These are in my config
-tt 65,65,65,65,65,65
-ttli 70,70,70,70,70,70
-ttdcr 68,68,68,68,68,68

-tt: from readme: "Note: for NVIDIA cards only temperature monitoring is supported, temperature management is not supported."
-ttli, -ttdcr are ignored for nvidia (bug), it will be fixed in next update: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.msg20046492#msg20046492

New version with Vega support is close, currently I see 35-36 MH/s ETH at stock clocks and huge speed for second coins. But it's too hot even at 1.0v for core and 0.9v for memory.

Hey Claymore, have you lowered core clock massively ?  Should be as or more efficient than an 580, it is possible.

Not yet, also I did not change anything in bios, but I'm sure it's possible to make it much more efficient with bios/voltage/clocks changes.

BTW, at "-dcri 500" I get 4600MH/s DCR (at stock clocks) after some Vega-related improvements in assembler code (i.e. these improvements are not available for Polaris cards), now I'm working on SIA and PASC...
At "-dcri 100" I see 35MH/s ETH and 3500MH/s DCR.
If I set 1050MHz for memory (default is 945MHz), I get 40MH/s ETH.

As I said before, AMD is going to fix the DAG issue for both Vega and Polaris, and new drivers will be available soon.

Hi, Claymore!
Please, don't think that i'm trying to say you are lieer. But all this more looks like a rumor. No any other signs of AMD activity, only your posts. Can you, please, tell us on what is your confidence based? Maybe you can show some screenshots of your communications with AMD and where we could see words of AMD workers telling that they are going to fix this issue?
Thanks!

I tell you what I know from AMD engineers, I'm not going to prove anything, it's up to you believe me or not.

is there a solution to easily switch between normal pools & NH/MPH ? they need -esm -allpools command but for other regular pools not needed so it's easy to switch between them.
let's say if i want to switch from ethermine to nicehash, i will have to edit config or .bat file and restart miner. so far easiest way is to make 2 .bat files but still have to shutdown n restart miner. a on the fly solution would be great and also from ethman if possible.
if it's only a single miner, yeah ez no issues but wut if some has a farm of over 50 miners ? that would be not easy.

epools.txt supports both ESM and ALLPOOLS options and you can broadcast it via EthMan.

i meant on the fly pool change.

Yes, it's on the fly pool change.

Vega is ... hot. In stock it takes about 400-450W in dual, 300-350W in ETH-only mode at about 33MH/s. And it's throttling like hell. It's very good in dual mining mode, but it's too hot.
Have you messed with undervolting?

Usually I don't change anything, just use stock clocks/settings. But for this card I will have to change some Wattman settings due to hard throttling, but I found no Wattman. I spent a few days to prepare my tools and code for Vega, but today I finally noticed it: no Wattman for Vega at all. May be because I use Windows 7 instead of Windows 10, I will check it (though it's strange anyway). Also I don't see "gaming mode" button in drivers. ADL does not work too, so I even cannot set 100% fan speed to prevent throttling. AB does not work too. Weird.
Probably just due to Win7 for some reason. Wattman is there, in gaming mode in Win10 anyway. Gaming mode doesn't do anything now except get you wattman. You can also use wattool.  Memory speed gets set slow if you set all pstates, so just set last one. Bugs probably will be fixed upon RX Vega release.

Yeah, I see "gaming mode" button in Windows 10. So this issue is related to Windows 7 only.

There is Watman, its in Gaming Mode for sure.   To find gaming mode its on the bottom left of right after you launch into "radeon pro and firepro settings".  Once your in there its under gaming/global settings.
oops I mean.

I know where "gaming mode" button must be, I saw some videos about it. I don't have this button.

The DAG epoch issue: it seems AMD fixed it for Vega in drivers and now they are working on Polaris. New drivers will be available soon, may be in two weeks or so.

Any chance to revert the new gpu indexing method? Or have a switch to change it between new and old. Claymore stopped working with NiceHashMiner after the changes, it is always the wrong gpu that starts mining, when nicehash starts claymore.

If you really need it, use "-dontsortgpu 1" option (undocumented).

Claymore, any news on Zcash support for AMD RX460 like you did on Ethereum side?

Support for Baffin chips incoming?

Yes I'm working on it.

Hi, Claymore, any news about AMD dropping hashrate? annyyyy
thanks!

No news for now, but I expect it soon, just need to wait a bit more.

Does -ttli option works with Nvidia cards?
I can not see any changes

You are correct, it is ignored for Nvidia cards currently. I will fix it in next update.

I think when application that terminates abruptly like in this case the ports that get opened have nothing to tell them to close and make them available again so when the application starts up again and tries to open the port it's already open but not connected to the currently running process.
Zombies...
It's a problem.... Cause any application can get terminated ... And bat to restart is useless.... It should restart PC at all...
Maybe  Claymore can add option --selectnextfreeport - if select or default mport is locked - try to use next free port to avoid such problem...
Yes, such option would be great.

It's bad idea because remote manager won't know that new port is used. Just set "-mport 0" if you don't use remote manager.
