1101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v6.3 (Windows/Linux) on: August 23, 2016, 12:43:44 PM
v6.3. This version is assumed to be stable, so it is not marked as "beta".

- added support for NVIDIA 10xx cards in Linux.
- fixed issue with gpu-pro drivers in Linux.
- minor improvements in OpenCL kernels.
- bug fixes.

Even though ADL v10 isn't currently in Linux, can I still manage voltage and clocks of my RX 480s? I know it says I can't manage the fan and temp but was just making sure.

Thanks

Probably you can, but not with the miner:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.msg16011461#msg16011461
So they tell you to use hwmon and sysfs for that.

About ADL in GPU-PRO drivers, just found a beautiful answer:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96786

...
ADL is not supported in the amdgpu-pro driver.  The same functionality can be accessed via standard Linux interfaces (e.g., hwmon for temperature and fan control, sysfs for clock control, etc..
...

So AMD decided not to worry about ADL support in new drivers for Linux. Excellent solution.
1104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v6.2 (Windows/Linux) on: August 22, 2016, 06:53:49 PM
I'm checking this issue in Linux, so I will have some news in a few hours.

Also, even though I have the ADL v10 linked in my /usr/lib, the miner complains about no ADL installed. This is with Ubuntu 16.04. Any details regarding this would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

latest amdgpu driver seems to ship without "libatiadlxx.so" . So maybe you have installed older crimson one ?

I don't state that it works for me. I just tell you that it seems that currently there is no way to use ADL 10 on Linux because it has no "libatiadlxx.so" file. As always Linux support comes later than Windows.

Claymore have you looked at Epyslons improvements to SIA mining? It's on his github.

Also have you considered talking to SP_ about his DCR miner? He has a highly optimized DCR miner available for sale.

Not sure how interested you are in this sort of thing, but I assume if you're making money off a fee you want things to be as fast as possible.

I'm not interested in such sort of thing.

ADL SDK v10 contains sample code for overlocking, but it created for Windows because code loads "atiadlxx.dll" library. ADL SDK v9 also contains code for Linux that loads "libatiadlxx.so" library. So either AMD devs forgot to include code for Linux in ADL SDK v10, or Linux is not supported by ADL SDK v10.
Right now miner tries to load "libatiadlxx.so", if it writes that ADL is not supported it means that you don't have "libatiadlxx.so" file.

PS. Now I can duplicate issue with Linux (gpu fault detected), but it will take some more time to find the reason and fix it.

You might find this interesting or funny Claymore?
Looking at a comparison of Intel chipsets (2500K quad processer) and AMD chipsets (Phenom 555 dual core):
The AMD GPUs find more shares for Ethereum on an AMD chipset and with the dual core processor with 1 core deactivated (save some electricity) and overclocked to 3.5GHZ than the Intel chipset and quad core processor at any cores and any clocks.
The Nvidia GPUs find more shares for Ethereum on an Intel chipset and with a quad core processor with 2 deactivated cores (save some electricity) and the two remaining cores set to 3.3Ghz then on the AMD chipset and processor at any cores and clocks.
It looks like: you need the AMD chipset to maximise the AMD GPU's efficiency and you need the Intel chipset to maximise the efficiency of the Nvidia GPUs for crypto mining of Dagger Cheesy

It is funny. Shares are related to hashrate and luck, that is all. More total shares in test - less luck involved. To exclude luck it's a good idea to test at least 1GH/s for 24 hours.
Anyway, if you change CPU/chipset/anything and miner shows same hashrate, it means that you have same speed, same earnings in long term.

Dear @Claymore!

Just thank you very much for these -di detect and -ttli options. It's fantastic! I've got 2 of 3 ventilation systems out of work recently. So, these options made it much less painful!

BUT! It still doesn't return the fan settings to AUTO after -di detect! Please, correct it if possible!

PM me the log that demonstrates it, don't specify "-tt" option, it means drivers manage temps.

v6.2:

- released version for Linux with nvidia support.
- fixed Ethereum solo mining mode.
- added "-cvddc" and "-mvddc" options for adjusting voltages for latest AMD 4xx cards.
- now you can turn on/off cards in runtime with "0"..."9" keys.
- bug fixes.

Are there any significant advantages in using the miner to over/underclock instead of letting WattMan take care of that?

Am I missing something here?

For example, there is no WattMan in Linux.

Hi, Claymore.
Is there any chance you could write up a quick guide for Nvidia GTX 1070's usage on Ubuntu.
Which version, full or barebones and what Nvidia downloads are needed and install commands for the terminal?
The hashrate is higher and you would make a higher percentage on that hashrate?

I tested it on Ubuntu 14.04. Just downloaded and installed latest drivers from nvidia website - 367.35. That is all. The only problem was that drivers did not want to install, but they show the reason and I googled for the solution, I even don't remember the details. Don't forget that I don't like Linux and don't have enough experience there, but I was able to do it, so I think people who use Linux and like it should pass this step easily. But if you don't have any experience in Linux, the main question is why you want to use it. Linux it's a mess, use Windows 7 instead! Smiley Drivers for Windows won't tell you that they don't want to install because some other driver is used and you must disable it somehow...
1110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v6.2 (Windows/Linux) on: August 20, 2016, 01:28:55 PM
with 980 card works, but not with 1070

The key phrase from the log is
"GPU 2, GpuMiner cu_kd failed 8 (0), invalid device function"

It means that drivers cannot compile kernel for GPU. On Windows I can build kernel with compute_30,sm_30 and it will work for all cards that have capability 3.0 or higher. For Linux, it does not work for some reason, and I have to build kernel for all archs: compute_30,35,50. I need to link miner with cuda8 to be able to compile it with compute_60, are you ready to test updated version?
I still cannot understand why drivers for Windows can compile "compute_30,sm_30" kernel for compute_50 device (or compute_60 device), but Linux drivers don't want to do it.

Yes, ready, can install cuda8 if needed.

No cuda required, just latest/recent drivers that support cuda8. Use links in OP, I uploaded v6.2 Beta2 for Linux. Tested on 9xx and 1070 cards.

Linux version segfaults on clean ubuntu 16.04 + beta nvidia drivers (370.23) + cuda 7.5

Working AMD 4xx and NVIDIA 10xx in Linux is a hack - no stable drivers and you have to do many strange actions, for example:
https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/7780/gtx1070-linux-installation-and-mining-clue-goodbye-amd-welcome-nvidia-for-miners
For now I decided not to check the reason because both AMD and NVIDIA drivers for latest cards for Linux are buggy.
I tested miner on Ubuntu 14.04 with cuda 7.5 and 367.35 drivers on 970/980 cards, works fine. Attempts to find some workaround to make miner work with buggy drivers (or attempts to find a way how to install/configure drivers to make them work as expected) will take too much time, better I will spend it for implementing new features.
1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v6.2 (Windows/Linux) on: August 19, 2016, 10:34:00 PM

installed the latest driver and latest APP SDK.

And another problem.
The syslog errors are continuously

Code:
[ 7669.222221] amdgpu 0000:06:00.0: GPU fault detected: 147 0x0d608401
[ 7669.222222] amdgpu 0000:06:00.0:   VM_CONTEXT1_PROTECTION_FAULT_ADDR   0x081047AC

[ 7669.222224] VM fault (0x01, vmid 7) at page 135284652, read from 'TC7' (0x54433700) (132)

Linux is a problem, always.
Well, it seems AMD does not support ADL v10 in Linux yet. In Windows it works fine. I will build a system with Ubuntu with latest drivers and RX480 to confirm it.
"VM_CONTEXT1_PROTECTION_FAULT_ADDR" error - not sure that it is a problem of miner, it can be issue in drivers. What Linux version? What drivers version? I tried to reproduce it but it seems I'm doing something wrong.
1114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v6.2 (Windows/Linux) on: August 19, 2016, 09:01:39 PM
Anybody tried 6.2 with multiple Pascal cards?

Will try when I get home. With 6.1 I got about 30MH/s total for 4 1070s with latest drivers...

OP updated.

NVIDIA DRIVERS:
Windows 7 x64 is highly recommended for Nvidia cards, in Windows 10 often there is no way to get good hashrate because of buggy drivers.
9xx cards in Windows 7 x64: just use latest/recent drivers from Nvidia website (for example, 368.81).
10xx cards in Windows 7 x64 (read readme.txt there): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B69wv2iqszefQVRfOEhWS0FCdUE
1115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred GPU Miner v1.0 on: August 19, 2016, 07:59:53 PM
any comments?

In your case miner has to recreate DAGs but it does not reallocate memory on GPU, so it can fail only if your PSU is weak (generation DAG requires more power than mining itslef) or GPUs are overclocked too much.
You can try "-gser 1" or "-gser 2" if it is PSU. If not and you don't want to reduce clocks, there is nothing that you can do with this miner if you want to mine ETC solo.
You can also try "-allcoins -1" option (note not "1" but "-1") to recreate DAGs at start, but in an hour it will do it again. Though, if it works, you can set "-r 60" to restart miner before it, but it is not smart solution anyway.

Ok, found 1 Bug: 0.....9 keys turn off GPUs in ETH & SIA but when i turn on GPU“s only work for ETH - in SIA still off

In dual mode, there are three states: off all, off sia, on all. So press the key again.

ubuntu 14.04 amdgpu-pro_16.30  rx480*6
-No shows temperature and fans speed
-Options does not work "-powlim, -cclock, -mclock"

Miner uses ADL to access temps/fans (libatiadlxx.so). Make sure you have latest APP SDK. I did not check it for Linux, if you have latest drivers and APP SDK it means that AMD did not support ADL for latest cards in Linux yet. But if miner shows "AMD ADL library not found, temperature management for AMD GPUs disabled." it means that you don't have ADL lib installed.

how can I make just siacoin extraction of nanopool with claymore software?
you can paste the string for the bat?

thank you very much

OP or Readme, "FAQ" section:

- How to mine Decred or Sia ONLY with this Ethereum Dual miner?
No way. It is Ethereum miner with extra bonus coins. To mine extra coins only use other miners.
