421  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The end of the ad blocking era? on: September 19, 2015, 04:06:07 PM
It really is a trade off.
What would you rather have, free services that have ads to keep them free, or only paid services with no ads?
Personally I would rather have ads, I can just ignore those, I can't ignore a paywall or subscription fee.

Today is a good day!
DailySatoshis.com has now been added to the official faucetbox list!!

423  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much do you think 1 Bitcoin will be worth in 2020? on: September 19, 2015, 12:15:32 AM
A former Goldman Sachs asset expert commented that he calculated 1 Bitcoin to reach a value worth 700oz of gold within 10 years.

That puts Bitcoin's market cap in the multiples of trillions. I ain't objecting but I'm not betting the house on it.

You mean like this guy?? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=508254.0

I'm in the camp that think it will be worth very much or remain niche and be worth very little. I don't think it will ever go to zero.
424  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: DoubleBits.Net - Fully Automated Bitcoin Platform on: September 18, 2015, 05:41:02 PM
Sorry, I was logged into the wrong account. Yes, I work for Blockchain.info and rejected this API key request. I wanted to post here to let people know that this is clearly a scam site.

Ouch! Well there it is BC.info does not like the HYIP games. I'm pretty sure you could classify all these sites on the same category though. Can OP reply to this? Is he shutting down or looking for a new API provider?
425  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: DoubleBits.Net - Fully Automated Bitcoin Platform on: September 18, 2015, 12:40:53 PM
Blockchain did the same to me on my faucet sites where I paid out directly to people's wallet.
They are really strict about the API limits so I think OP is not making this up.
He was sending a payment every hour to over 100 different addresses. Do the math people.

How long time it took to you to get payments back to normal?
Because as you see DB API still blocked: http://www.doublebits.net/daily.crypto_rates.php

It took close to 24 hours for them to restore my account and unban my IP.
OP should think about removing that crypto_rates file since it is hitting blockchain info with an additional request every time that page is loaded.
Instead create a cron that that runs every 15 minutes and store the prices to a database, that way he's not hitting blockchain.info with more unnecessary requests everytime someone loads the page.

428  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 18, 2015, 05:01:45 AM
Serious question for you.
Do you trade forex or stocks? I know you don't with btc but what about anything else?

No, I don't trade.  I did not even know what bids and asks and spreads were, two years ago....

You are one strange cat professor... Watching charts in your free time and you don't trade? I guess you must be writing a book to devote your free time to the bitcoin world.
429  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Project: Faucet Profit Calculator on: September 18, 2015, 04:41:08 AM
Any thoughts on this? I was hoping for more input so we could create a simple profit calculator for new faucet owners so they know where to set their payouts at.
430  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 18, 2015, 04:30:20 AM
I happened to notice a single 12'000 BTC trade on OKCoin.  And the price dropped by 0.10 yuan.  Weird.

Hey Jorge! Still hanging around I see.
Serious question for you.

431  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Every 30 minutes 1100 Satoshi to faucetbox.com (Edited link) on: September 18, 2015, 02:13:45 AM
I'm sorry but this faucet is a pile. The design is terrible and then there is no claim button to be found. Way too many ads, and people above are posting that you have to verify a phone #?  Yea that's not going to happen.

Winner!
3265 satoshi was sent to your FaucetBOX.com address.

Another awesome win!
So I've been keeping track and most people solve the bonus game in about 6 guesses.
That's 609 satoshis! Plus the 300 standard. So an average claim receives 909 satoshis every 30 minutes!

433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: September 18, 2015, 12:34:41 AM
It's an odd question. I do not hold them for a price increase with an intent to sell it off. I am a regular buyer and I continue to accumulate more and more. Maybe one day I'll trade some for physical things, but I don't plan to swap it into fiat.
434  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: DoubleBits.Net - Fully Automated Bitcoin Platform on: September 18, 2015, 12:22:31 AM

Where is the next break point?

I closed my long from 228 yesterday at 241. This morning about 12 hours ago I went short.
I'm thinking something like this, but only short term.

I don't think we'll go much below 232 the 3 day still looks bullish.
Good move @coinableS
I'll have to follow your post  Wink

Thanks, I was a bit off on the 232, it went $4 below. I wasn't expecting that drop yesterday. Currently not in any positions, but leaning towards taking another long. Looking at the 3 day, I think the new green candle could engulf the 3 previous reds which would be very nice  Cool

I don't see any bitcoin or crypto related videos? I only see video game stuff?  Am I missing something? Where are your bitcoin videos?
437  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 17, 2015, 12:38:49 PM
Will Fed hike the rate today? (I don't think so).

And will the outcome be relevant to bitcoin price? How?

Yes, the fed IS raising the federal interest rate today.
I was told by a higher-up from one of the big 4 yesterday evening.

IBM Adapts Bitcoin Technology for Smart Contracts

http://www.wsj.com/articles/ibm-adapts-bitcoin-technology-for-smart-contracts-1442423444

Articles like this used to move the needle. Why don't they anymore?

Because 'Bitcoin technology' is code for 'private blockchain'.

They may as well just use a database or filing cabinet.
If they control this "blockchain" then it can be easily modified by them. No point, except they get to use a buzzword "blockchain".

One suggestion.
will be nice to send alert message for faucet owner, when is faucet balance is low. 1-2 day before dry.
regards

This is a good suggestion. I think some faucets dry up for a short time just because they aren't aware it's low.
An email stating "your balance is low deposit to this address..." would be nice.
