It is not over until it has been released and enough miners have upgraded + 95% of the last 1000 blocks are version 3.
This will take some time.
Is there a page to track block version # as a % of the net as there was when we went to block version #2? Will this change be in 0.8.7 and/or 0.9? |

As others have said, divisibility defeats the "too high to be used in small transaction" argument. Otherwise, stability is a good thing. Hopefully, sometime soon, we'll all wake up to hear something like: "The US Dollar was down about 1% against Bitcoin in early trading this morning on rumors that the Federal Reserve will ...."

I managed to push the transaction. I signed it again though so it has a new transaction ID, right? This makes my second transaction fail as it was based on the first which is no longer the one the network sees. Signing does not change the tx id, the tx id is a hash of your transaction so it shouldn't change unless an output or something like that has changed. PS The transaction in the wallet is now invalid as a new one was broadcast. Is there an easy way to clear it and sync up with the new one?
Try -reindex that should fix this issue. That won't delete the old transaction from my wallet though, right? |

I then did a getrawtransaction <trans id> using the raw debug interface.
I then took the hex string and put that into another machine which was online and did sendrawtransaction.
But then I get a TX rejected code -22.
What am I doing wrong?

You didn't signed the raw transaction Use signrawtransaction then sendrawtransaction. I used signrawtransaction offline. Then I tried to use sendrawtransaction using a fresh install of the qt client client. I am still getting TX rejected (code -22). What am I doing wrong? I can use decoderawtransaction and I see scriptSig with two hex blobs after asm. Thanks! |

Sorry for not being clear. I am not asking for donations at all. I am suggesting people select charities and donate to them directly themselves. I have nothing to do with it other than I am happy to donate as well. My idea is just that we make it a point as a community to achieve a monthly donation target.
I am going to be donating 10 bitcoins in January and I have a friend who will donate 10 in February. Bitcoiners are very generous from what I know and if we continue this donation trend we can make a positive impact and get good press attention from it as well. Normally I donate anonymously but I think being public about this can be good for bitcoin.

http://mcoin.io/ has us sign a seemingly arbitrary message to show we own an address. How is this message generated? I only ask because there are other services which ask for messages to be signed and signing arbitrary messages can be insecure. Thanks!
