For those of you who mine at Ozcoin and have iPhones, check out my FREE Ozcoin Mining Monitor app for the iPhone:

Estimated next mining difficulty is currently broken as the web site I get the data from isn't being update presently, but I will submit a new version soon that has a fix.

So they should be getting chips this week, correct? Still a slim chance they could make the deadline it seems. Has there been any word from them? They still are insisting they will ship by the end of the month, correct?

Enough with the whitepapers.  We don't need another freakin' whitepaper.

Ideas for decentralized exchanges have existed for years.

We need code.

+1

I've been working on it...

seems like shares are still being accepted though. I assume that the shares are still being counted and payouts are happening as normal?

Or should I switch to another pool until the DDOS stops?

I switched!

Ugh, but i have 7 miners, running on 3 raspberry pis and 2 standalone miners in 2 different locations. Too much work, lol

Blockexplorer and allchains.info just do linear extrapolation. When there is a constant growth (exponential increase), they always understate the change. Just keep an eye on them, day after day (assuming the growth keeps up) you will see their estimate go up and eventually it will reach close to what dot-bit and bcw have said all along.

IM not entirely sure how dot-bit and bitcoinwisdom do their calculation, but they have been quite correct the last few changes I checked, even from an early stage. IN fact bitcoinwisdom even charts their past prediction and how it evolved (second chart, green line), and thats usually a fairly straight line, meaning, virtually no change in their prediction.

For the historical record, right now blockchain predicts 361169157, bcw predicts 402,822,686.
May the best one win Smiley

I'd rather take the one that is more accurate as of now and make my own extrapolations on how it will evolve. I realize it will likely be higher than 361 since KNC and others are still shipping and I'm taking that into account. bcw would have no way of knowing if they suddenly stopped though and the rate wasn't going to continue to rise.

What are US citizens/residents who are waiting for redemption requests (from ukyo.loan, for example) supposed to do after the end of the month if they haven't received their redemption yet? Will they still be able to remain in the queue and collect dividends in the meantime?

I realized that it is going to take ukyo a long time to liquify enough assests to cover all the redemption requests.
As long as bitfunder remains open or he avoids bankruptcy he will have to honor the requests.

I think Bitfunder made the right move by not shutting down. There is still a lot of trading to be done in the non-US market.

In the meantime I hope ukyo takes some time out to post here and alleviate our concerns.

430  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: October 21, 2013, 03:21:11 PM
Ukyo said a week or so ago in the IRC chat, that there is a very long list of people waiting for redemption and he does not have the money. So redemption is not happening any time soon. I sold all of my shares with a small loss at that time, cause I have no interest in verifying my account. If you are holding large amounts that you can't sell without huge losses you just need to continue holding them and hope that the site goes well so Ukyo is able to pay the interest.

What are the US citizens who will no longer be able to trade in a week or so supposed to do?

Looking at the asset list, I'm the largest individual holder of ukyo.loan. There is no way I could sell all my shares in a week even if I wanted to. I wish Ukyo would say something here so we know what is going on. Second hand reports of something that might have been said on IRC is not a good way to communicate with your shareholders. I'm hoping that at least I can remain in the redemption queue after the end of the month even if my account remains unverified.

Next weekend we'll probably be at 340mil diff
- 400mil, actually.

Not sure if a 50% jump would be within the rules of the Bitcoin Network, because those 2016 (2015) blocks would just breeze through.

This value looks a bit high: http://blockexplorer.com/q/estimate

How about Next difficulty (estimate): 285,052,471 (+6%)

http://bitcoin difficulty.com/

That site just pulls data from dot-bit page which is down. You can refresh it all day, it wont update. MOreover they pull that data from dot-bit without attribution, then put a banner add on it for their own profit. Please delete that bookmark, and add these;

http://dot-bit.org/tools/nextDifficulty.php (currently down)
http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty (Estimated Next Difficulty:   401,706,911 (+50.04%))

And yes lol, 50% is within the rules. 400% is the limit I believe, and has been reached before.

I don't think that bitcoinwisdom page is accurate. http://blockexplorer.com/q/estimate has been far more accurate. Not sure what method they are using to calculate it.

How far along is shipping for October deliveries? Is there a thread here tracking them? What order number are they up to?

Anyone have a problem with the Bitburner boards crashing raspberry pis?
[...]
I'm at a loss as what is left to try. Anybody have any other suggestions or seen this error before?

If you have changed the Raspis and SDcards, the only remaining problem source is power. Please check the Pi's power supply is ok.

Oh, another possibility is that the SDcard connector pins could be slightly bent too low and won't make good contact. This is very apparent with certain SDcards that are slightly thinner than others, and will work most of the time, but cause intermittent problems. So, check the SDcard connector pins too.

I have several power supplies and I've tried them all. They are all the same type though so maybe it is possible that the model supply I'm using can't provide enough power. I ordered some new ones on Friday which should be here tomorrow so hopefully that will fix my issue.

Anyone have a problem with the Bitburner boards crashing raspberry pis?

It doesn't really make much sense but randomly the raspberry pi will freeze up with a "Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address" error.

The only way to continue is to unplug the pi and plug it back in.

I've tried two different raspberry pis with two different SD cards. I've tried using a wireless USB network adaptor and a wired ethernet connection. I'm using a powered USB hub. I've tried 2 different hubs and also tried using no hub at all.

I'm running the special version of cgminer recommended in the instructions and using raspbian wheezy on the pi.
I've ran rpi-update to update the firmware.

None of my other raspberry pis ever crash, and this pi only crashes when running cgminer with the 8 bitburner boards. It's strange that sometimes it will go a couple of days without crashing and then suddenly it will stop working and I won't even get it to run 15 minutes without crashing again repeatedly.

I'm at a loss as what is left to try. Anybody have any other suggestions or seen this error before?

I have an 8-board set that was running fine for about a week. One of the boards seemed to always be significantly hotter than the others. One day it just died. No lights or anything.

Any suggestions on how I might salvage this board. I e-mailed asic-hardware but I haven't heard from them. I'm hoping I can get it fixed or exchange it or something.
436  Economy / Speculation / Re: Call the top on: October 19, 2013, 05:29:45 AM
More important question is what will be the bottom of the next big dip. Hopefully its $100 or less.

We just had $100 a couple weeks ago when silk road shut down. You missed your chance to buy. It's on the way up for now.

Just found one of my ASIC's still had a sticker on, I would recommend everyone to check temps if any one or two as more than 5-6C warmer than the others i'd be assuming same thing now.

Before - 62C (others around 51-52C)
After - 52C

Hash Before - 530-540 @ Pool
Hash After - 550-560 @ Pool

I have two running at 57.5 and two at 50. I wonder if I have this problem.
438  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Introducing Hive, a beautiful new wallet for Mac OS X on: October 18, 2013, 11:22:57 PM
I like it so far!!

One feature I would like is QR codes for the addresses like what you get with blockchain's wallet. It makes it easier to transfer money from a mobile device based wallet.

In the meantime I'm going to play around with a the app API this weekend!
439  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: October 18, 2013, 04:57:37 PM
I feel like hashfast should do refunds if they cant ship on their deadline specially with the  network difficulty soaring or ship with MPP when they do ship. HASHFAST HOW MUCH LONGER?

I think that's why so many people were making a fuss about the lack of PP/CC payment options.  Hashfast's terms explicitly state that refunds will not be honored before Jan. 1st, 2014.

Legally, they actually have to give you a refund at any time before they ship if they deliver more than 6 weeks (not sure of the exact time) after ordering, unless they can give you an exact ship date.

The problem with paying by bitcoin is good luck in forcing them to give you a refund like you can if you paid by credit card.
440  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Who will be mining a year from now? on: October 18, 2013, 07:06:00 AM
Bookmark this thread!

Here is what mining will be a year from now:

- All miners will use 28nm technology.
- Miner power consumption will be roughly 0.5w per GH/s
- The speed of a medium-sized mining machine will be 1 TH/s, but there will be 2+ TH/s machines available. There also will be plenty of smaller machines in the 200 GH/s range.
- The medium-sized 1 TH/s machine will cost in the hundred of dollars range. Probably $400 to $750.
- Difficulty will be around 30-35 billion.
- The vast majority of mining will take place in areas of the world with cheap electricity.
- The average Bitcoin enthusiast will fit into one of two categories:
    - Miners who have very cheap or free electricity (perhaps in an apt or dorm room where electricity is include). They will pay off their device in roughly 6 month to a year and make a very small profit.
    - Miners who do not have cheap electricity but choose to mine for fun or simply to secure the bitcoin network.

35 Billion?  Care to make a bitbet to that effect???

What do you think difficulty will be at?
35 billion is certainly within the range of possibility
